"Very well." She had passed the dilapidated old station a few times without knowing it housed such a secret, and she was confident in her ability to find it. A last sip drained the teacup, and she set the dish delicately on the table, waving down the waiter to ask for the bill. Aila paid the man and glanced down to Fleur, who returned her gaze with a grin smeared with ketchup. The girl gave voice to her disgust, "Honestly, if you must eat such wretched things, at least do so neatly." She reached down with a napkin to clean the filthy face, then stood from the table. "Shall we, then?"
The Ivysaur pranced around her human's feet excitedly. Going places! Fun! Staying in the base all the time was boooring. Any departure from the place was a welcome adventure!

Claire stood as well, and Odette hopped off of her perch and onto the bench, and then onto the floor. The young woman couldn't help the amused noise that surfaced when Aila chastised her Ivysaur for getting ketchup all over her face. It really was sort of disgusting, but now that she'd finished eating, the remnants were just amusing.
She walked towards the door and held it open, waiting for Aila to pass through first with her Ivysaur, her golden bird trotting oddly after them (she still couldn't fly in the cafe, of course), before following them out. "Alright, which way is it?" Ooh, this would be fun. ...well, maybe not fun exactly, but it would be interesting. And an important piece of information she'd probably need to know later on.

"It would be unwise to go there directly," she said in a hushed voice as she exited the cafe. She remembered the winding maneuvers Nyx had taken to precaution against being followed when they visited the outpost for, and she felt it would be nothing if not beneficial to imitate the tactic. "It should be no more than twenty minutes in the direction of the commercial district's limits, but I imagine our progress will be slowed by the detours. The path itself should be interesting, I would think. It will bring us opposite the direction from which you entered, so there will be much to see." She started forward, swift eyes making note of their exact position and determining the best means to reach their eventual destination.

The thief had a point, Claire noted, and nodded her head in agreement. "That sounds like a good idea. That way we can look around the city on our way there. Taking the scenic route, as it were," she offered, following Aila as Odette became airborne for a moment or two, landing carefully on her trainer's shoulder. How Claire could handle an 80 pound bird on one shoulder was a mystery for another time.
"How big is this other workspace? How many employees are there normally?" She was very curious about this other building. Surely it wasn't as big as the base, so it had to be something considerably smaller and inconspicuous. They must have some incredible security system to protect it from intruders, too.

"It is considerably larger than you would suspect, given its location," she said. "Smaller than the main branch, of course, but far from little. The employees," she paused in consideration; apart from Will, she had not seen but perhaps three or four others wandering the halls, "are few, relatively. From what I have gathered, its purpose is dedicated largely to receiving and distributing supplies, coupled with maintaining a presence in Camphoreon." An inconsequential yet interesting thought came to mind. "I imagine there are similar branches throughout most if not all of Kodo's major cities."

"Oh, of course, I would naturally assume it to be smaller than our main building." Anything the same size or bigger would be ridiculous. They may as well have several large bases, if that were the case.
At the suggestion of multiple smaller branches throughout Kodo, she couldn't help but nod at the thought. "That seems probable. It's understandable why there's one in Camphoreon, because of the sea port, maybe one in the... what's the other large port city?" She knew there was another one, but she'd only been between Camphoreon and the base in the desert and had only heard the other city mentioned in passing. "There's another city in the forest, isn't there? I'm afraid I'm not familiar with Kodo quite yet, besides what I've had a chance to visit." Which were this city, and their base. So not much.
As they snaked through town on their meandering path, Claire couldn't help but scrutinize everything she saw. She studied the more prominent buildings and areas, dismissed the smaller, unimportant shops, noted the various parks and similar areas, before turning to her companion after they'd been traveling for some time. She hadn't been keeping track of the time. "Are we almost there, do you think?"

"Makko, was it?" She was not very familiar with the rest of Kodo, possessing innate knowledge of only Camphoreon and Jinko and knowing only the rough locations of the other towns. "They were near the water, if I recall correctly. I'm not sure if it quite qualifies as a large port city, though..." At mention of the forest city, though, Aila could offer much more definitive information, "That would be Sandalwood. Truly a unique and interesting place. I passed by it once before on my way to Jinko. I feel I would love to one day visit, should the opportunity arise."
Aila pointed out different things as they continued: which paths led to which residential areas, which stores had the better security, which places served as the best refuges if one needed to lay low for a while. All in all it would appear quite the sketchy conversation if one were to overhear, and the girl kep her voice to a murmur throughout. The commerce soon gave way to a darker side of town, the buildings not nearly as pristine and the roads cracking from a lack of maintenance.
"Not much further," she said as she led her companion through a twisting series of alleyways. Another five minutes of travel found them standing before the grim maw of a subway station, long abandoned and in a state of complete disrepair. "And here we are."

"I'm not sure," she replied, thus why she asked in the first place. "I just know roughly where there are towns located, but I don't remember their names."
"Ah, I know it is a port city, maybe a town would be a better name for it.. I know that it isn't nearly as large as Camphoreon, but it's still on the sea," so didn't that make it a port town? They had boats, so that was good enough she supposed. Sandalwood sounded interesting though.
She nodded here and there as Aila pointed out specific details about each area they passed, making note of several important ones, before they finally arrived in front of what looked to be.. a subway station, or it must've been at some point. A perfect place for a second base of operations. "Very intriguing," she said curiously as she studied the outside, and looked into the dark depths of the abandoned station. "There are lights down there, I'm assuming?" No sooner had she said it, she started heading down into the once-abandoned area. What better way to find out than to see for herself?

Well there was one light.
A flashlight clicked on and was pointed up towards the descending grunt and trainee.
"Name, rank, and ID number?" a dark clad man asked. He was wearing the standard grunt issue uniform, complete with hat. However, a dark visor covered the upper half of his face. Despite that, he looked rather ordinary and nondescript as far as grunts went. A bit of hair in a washed red color poking out from beneath his hat.

"Aila, trainee, 92376-5521." There was no hesitation this time. "It is a pleasure to see you again, sir." She turned to Claire to allow her to introduce herself as well. All of the woman's questions could be answered through experience.

What? Oh, of course. "Claire, grunt, 0174-7137," she stated with a solute. Blinded by the flashlight, she couldn't see him well enough to distinguish what rank he held. For it must've been a he, since Aila had said 'sir.' Experience was indeed the best way Claire learned.

The flashlight lowered, a small smile came upon the guard's face and he chuckled lightly.
"No need for the formalities. Just call me Will."
He did remember Aila though and nodded. "Its good to see you again, also. What brings you both here?"

"Very well," she said with a nod. She gestured to Claire, "She wished to know Camphoreon's points of interest. I felt I should familiarize her with the outpost." She ceded the rest of the grunt's introduction and explanation to the individual herself.

Claire offered a nod in response, glad to ditch the formalities for the time being. There wasn't much she could add, however, to what Aila had said. "It's just as Aila's explained, my current goal is to familiarize myself with all of Camphoreon. Or, at least, it's more important places. This seemed like one of the most important," she explained. And it was. If she had instructions to go to the outpost, it would be imperative she knew its location.
She walked closer, finally able to see Will better now that he'd lowered the flashlight. "Will," repeated the young woman, committing face and name to memory. "Pleasure to meet you. Are you always stationed here?"

Will nodded slowly while looking between the two young women. "I see, well this would definitely be the most important stop," he agreed.
The grunt then looked to Claire again, still that faint smile on his face, yet he gave a slightly exasperated sigh. "Pleasure to meet you as well, Claire. And yeah, this is where I've been assigned."
Stepping back, he allowed the two to make their way off the stairs. "You're both free to look around. Do you remember how to get in?" This question directed at Aila.
