broken_bleeding_angel chibiusa: 1. I love your username. 2. I think that your suggestion of using blue, white and green would be great for my Virtues.♥ And the silver with them would look very nice. I'll take a look on tektek and see what I can create for now and then update when new/better items come along that I think will work well for it. What do you think? Thanks! heart I've been a Sailor Moon fan for 15 years. xd It wasn't my first anime, but it was the first one that I became completely obsessed with. blaugh Do you mean your virtuous co-hosts? I'm not quite sure what you are meaning to tektek at the moment.

Here is my application for co-host! Username: robayn How often are you on gaia: [nolife]at least 8hours a day, usually closer to 10 [/nolife] Previous experience in the ball: A mere participant, but a very eager one! Why do you want to be a co-host: Because I want to offer my palate of RP to the ball, be a part of the gaia-wide sensation that I fell in love with, and help out where I can. Why should you be chosen for a Co-Host Position: Because I can commit to what I promise and will work to exceed expectations of me. In three words describe yourself: People-pleaser, friendly, thorough. Will you remain active in the planning process and during the time of the ball: Yes, I'll offer what I can and where during the planning process and I plan to devote myself to the ball completely.

robayn Has anyone started thinking of costume/outfit ideas for the sins and virtues? I'm not so bad at tektek and could offer a couple of each if a price range is suggested (and if I'm not stepping on anyone's toes) I think we need to decide on basic plot and characterization before we make tekteks to represent our characters. I wouldn't even begin to know what my character is going to be. I follow what's going on the plot committee thread, but even the main plot is still rather unclear. The only things they've decided so far is that there is going to be a sin and virtue in each room, and that the plot is not going to be religious in nature. Other than that, everything is up in the air.

Robbie: So far we're just discusing colour schemes and tekteks. XD
Chibiusa: Lol me too! XD Still am. ♥
And yes I meant me and my virtuous co-hosts.
I like the idea of Wrath and Patience having blue and red hair, but I'm kida iffy on the mini vices and virtues having purple hair. But it's still a good suggestion.
Though I think we should look into what is associated with Wrath and Kindness/Patience and have those be the co-hosts and find their colours that are associated with them.

These are just rough ideas right now. I'm of the opinion that we won't be able to come up with good avi's for our characters until we figure who they are going to be. We need to have at least the bare bones of the plot before we can make characters to work within that plot, and we have to have characters before we can make up tekteks for them. I still think it's rather premature to try to come up with anything definite. I'm just brainstorming to get my brain juices flowing. I'm afraid that we're not going to be able to get much done until we have the framework of the main plot. xp

That's true! biggrin You can find Wrath and Patience in The Vision of Piers Plowman. I have a copy of it on my shelf. Of course, Wrath can be found in Dante's Inferno, but it's harder to find virtues. I recently discovered that the seven deadly sins can be found in book II of Spencer's The Faerie Queen. I haven't read that one yet, but it has been on my to-read list ever since we glossed over it in medieval lit.

broken: Oh xD Well the offer is out there for when the time comes!! that was like calling shotgun before the car is in sight...Quote: R. Novaco recognized three modalities of anger: cognitive (appraisals), somatic-affective (tension and agitations) and behavioral (withdrawal and antagonism). Associated with Wrath/anger. If each of these three modalities are given personification they would be as companions or side-kicks to Wrath, sowing seeds in his/her absence or preparing the way for the greater sin. Cognitive would be interested in shaping the minds of mortals, twisting thoughts and reactions inside of their minds, and planting suspicions inside of them. Somatic-Affective would be looking at the bodily reactions to anger, the stress-induced headaches, maybe even the "red-vision" that rage is said to induce. And Behavioral would be suggestive, driving people to act on their anger. Each of them like little harpies or devils on the shoulder. Though I'm not sure how many co-hosts you're looking at, Somatic-affective seems like the one with the most application since it can also relate to the increased heart-rate, blood pressure, and even inducing adrenaline. That's all from a psychiatric view on it though, if we were going to go with more of a fantasy/mythological view then maybe Wrath co-host(s) could be loosely based off of elementals? Fire has often been associated with anger and wrath and the NPC co-host could be any manner of Ifrit, Genie, or even a creature of living flame. Patience I've got little to go off of besides imaging the opposite of the Wrath in the same terms. Somatic-affective would be a lucid thought process, cool body-temperature, slow breathing rate, maybe a sense of serenity. Mythological: It could be personified elementally as some water-creature. I like the idea of a water creature, personally. There's tons of images of water-golems to be found on the internet, or if someone has envisioned something more human then it could be incorporated in subtle ways like the hair being made of water, a constant flow of gentle waves from the crown of their head, eyes like pools of water, and even their voices can be described as "gentle as whispering waves." THAT said, water has just as much a tendency to be wild and chaotic as it is peaceful, so it would be a great element to associate with the conflicting natures of Wrath and Patience. That way the other rooms could have elements as well without the Wrath room hogging two elements. I dunno, is that too much?

Here is my application for co-host!
Username: Kala Kirya
How often are you on gaia: At least once a day, usually for at least an hour, internet willing. I've been having difficulties, but it's finally calming down, yay!!!
Previous experience in the ball: I rped in the 7th Annual Ball, then was both Art Committee Co-captain and a co-host in the Hades Room. Now that I think about it, I think I was on the Plot Committee too... Anyway! And this year I'm the leader of the Fundraising Committee.
Why do you want to be a co-host: Because I had a blast last year as a co-host, and I would love being involved again. Also, as much as I'm enjoying the overall work of being fundraising captain, I really love the little world of creating a room and being able to actually mingle with the ball goers. It's so much fun, and so rewarding.
Why should you be chosen for a Co-Host Position: Hmmm... Well, I really care about making this room as much fun as possible for the ball goers, which sounds cliche I know. I love rping and I like to think I'm very good at it. I'm also literate, which is a plus. ^_^ I'm willing to do whatever I need to to help, be that writing or editing or character designing or standing on my head for a day or two. Can't promise on the last one though, might have to pull some strings.
In three words describe yourself: (This may seem silly but it will help later.): Boobs, Butt, Brain. (Hehehehehe)
Will you remain active in the planning process and during the time of the ball: If I didn't I'd be in such deep crap... I'm already in for the long haul as Fundraising Captain, don't worry! razz

I did a bit, but I preferred my sociology courses. Less focus on brain chemistry and more emphasis on human behavior. biggrin
It could be too much though, detracting from the theme of Sins and Virtues by having an almost mini-theme of elementals involved, non?

Wow guys, I really like the ideas you're tossing around in here! The psychology bits are really fascinating, I love it! And, as much as I'd love to involve the elements, I think you're probably right about it being too much, robayn... sad
As for the co-hosts, I'm curious.... are there going to be co-hosts with an affinity for each of the vice and virtues, or just characters that mix with both? I'm a little unclear.
Also..... HALLO BROKEN!!!! *glomps*

Well, we don't have to focus on elementals in the theme, but we could use some subtle element references, such as wrath's eyes glowing with fiery flames or patience sitting next to a pond or something like that. I liked sociology better as well, but I ended up getting a psychology minor because it was automatic with my elementary education major. Long story short, I ended up dropping out of my student teaching because I was failing it miserably, transferring to another school, getting an English degree, and graduating magna c** laude. I always thought that psychology was mostly a load of BS. Then again, the education methods they teach in education major is even more BS. blaugh At least my English degree helped me to analyze things on entirely new levels, and taught me how to persuasively express my point, even when there isn't much evidence to support it. Actually, it is not uncommon for English majors to go into law. I would rather be an editor, but jobs are hard to come by, so I'm just applying for everything I can find.

Hmmm When I think of wrath I think of fire. Anf fire can be a comfort too. People back in the olden days used to to warm their homes and cook their suppers. And they would gather around it.
