Raiden walked through the snow and glanced down to the girl laying on the little wool blanket. "Hello, are you Benedetta Traiylor?" He stood awkwardly next to the blanket, praying to the goddesses that she was. He waited for her answer, noting the two pairs of skates she had. It seemed to be more of a clarification, but then again, maybe this was a personal engagement? So he just waited for a longer time.

Ah, well, the cold couldn't have Benedetta falling into too deep of a sleep, really, so the sound of Raiden's shoes crunching over the snow predictably woke her up from her little, light doze. Enough so that she had opened her eyes to stare at the cloudy sky instead of being aware enough to turn her head and look around. The sky really was pretty, though, so it wasn't like she could blame her hazy brain for very long~ Up until a looming shadow and a dark face blocked her vision, forcing her upright to witness the man who seemed to know her name. It took maybe a minute before she could understand what was going on, a smile instantly alighting her face when the face was put to a name.
“Raiden Niami.” She greeted while she moved to get to her feet, careful to stay standing on the warmer blanket than the snow. Shoes or not, it was much more comfortable. “I am Benedetta or..” She gave a quirky smile, “..Bennie, if you want.” It was a bit masculine sounding of a nickname for her, but she didn't have much of a dislike for it. “I'm happy you made it out here. I found the forest a little tricky on my way out. I was on the verge of asking my brother, of all people, to help..” Her smile turned into amusement, almost giggling at the idea as she mindlessly chattered. What better way to break the ice than a light conversation, after all?

~Year 5~ Catrina came to the lake, dragging Mei behind her as they went through the forest to find the well known body of water. The moist air, the sounds of bugs buzzing through the air and crawling in the grass, frogs croaking from within the reeds and at the edge of the pool, and, most importantly the quaking of ducks paddling some distance in the water! Catrina had stopped them to eye one of those fluffy white beauties without a care in the world, her eyes glazing over for a brief period with some odd emotion that a young girl really shouldn't have when seeing a cute little duck like that.
Oh, well, it was Catrina; almost her whole identity was something a young girl shouldn't have! She dropped the Chinese woman's arm, which somehow remained untouched despite the sharp metallic claws that had been used to pull her along. Practice, of course, was the answer to that question. She took a step towards the lake, bouncing slightly where she stood as her eyes dashed between waterfowl. She wanted to go out and catch one~!! ..But, she had to refrain herself. This wasn't about what she was hungering for! It was about getting Mei ready for her LIFE! She reluctantly forced herself to turn back around and looked at Mei, “Put on your gear, Meiiioow~” She lowered herself into a crouching position and went to staring up at the woman, waiting impatiently for her to do as she asked.

It had all happened so fast, Mei wasn't entirely sure what was going on. And so she did what she usually did when Catrina had a plan -- just followed her quietly and wait for instruction. Even though she had a bad feeling in the pit of her stomach, she also couldn't complain, because she got to go outside~ She hadn't had time to change into her sundress or unearth her hat from the depths of her closet, but she had a good imagination, she could pretend~
When the two of them reached the lake, the Chinese girl let out a content sigh. It was so pretty, the sun shining, the grass rustling in the breeze, ducks splashing around in the water. She should start doing this all the time, coming out here. She felt relaxed already!
She had almost forgotten about the items she was holding, so when Catrina told her to "put on her gear", she glanced down at the gloves and the ears. Yes, she would look silly, but they were just ears and gloves. That wasn't too bad. She slipped on the gloves first, then affixed the cat ears on top of her head as well as she could. "Is it even?" she asked, though it probably didn't matter.

Ooh~! She put them on! Catrina's eyes appeared as though someone had dropped a whole bottle of glitter into them as she witnessed the magical transformation of her kitten into a cat~! She smiled widely in excitement and circled Mei several times when the girl asked, eying her up and down although it really wasn't that much of a change.. The ears and gloves didn't adjust her body in any way and it wasn't like Mei was suddenly mewing and growing a tail as a result – but! It was enough of a change to please Catrina. She eventually stopped in her constant, speedy circles and went back to Mei's front by ducking under and between the woman's legs. Well, everyone knew that the quickest way was straight and she was in a real hurry right then!
“Mau, yes!! Purrrfect~!” Oh, God, that was horrible, but don't tell that to Catrina – she was oblivious to how bad of a pun that was. She moved to stand beside the woman, setting her hands on her back and eagerly pushing her forward, which, in turn, lightly prodded Mei with her 'claws'. She should probably work with Lotte on getting those to be retractable.. “Now, meow – which one? Who do you want, mm? A duck? A frog? Or a fish?” She questioned as she motioned to several different directions, though she hardly knew if any of them actually contained the animals she was referring to. It was more so to keep her moving since all of this excitement was enough to have her burst otherwise~

It felt a little funny, being looked at like that. It was just a pair of cat ears, did they really make her look that different? Mei folded her gloved hands in front of her and waited for Catrina to finish, trying to follow her movements with her eyes as well as she could without getting dizzy. It didn't really turn out very well, but at least she was too distracted to make a surprised sound when the girl ducked through her legs.
"I pick?" Mei pointed to herself in surprise. Wasn't this like the other times, when Catrina went off and took care of things? She got to pick this time? She probably shouldn't have been excited, but she kind of was... She was simple like that. But at the same time, she felt very pressured to pick well. She liked ducks, they were cute. But she was allergic to their feathers, so that wasn't good. Frogs were cute when they were cartoony, but not as real things. In fact, they were kind of scary. "How about... fish?" she suggested with a small smile. Fish didn't have hair or feathers and were kind of cute, in a fishy sort of way~

Catrina nodded at the woman – fishing at the lake.. What sounded fun~? She would have had Mei catching fish underwater, but the girl wasn't dressed in the right clothes for it and, though Catrina always found it silly, she probably wouldn't strip to swim either.. So, she would have to do the next best thing! “Mau! Fish it is!” She chimed excitedly as she rounded the woman once again and placed both hands at her midback, pushing her forward towards the lake's edge. Once she was close enough or Catrina simply got bored of pushing the kitten along, she dropped her paws and went back to the edge, stepping without a care onto the muddy bank with a careful gaze at the water. She would have preferred just showing the girl, but Mei was pretty slow! She probably would need some instructions before she got anything right.
“Mjau.. You have to be careful of water snakes.. Turtles.. Ducks, too, merow, are nuisances. They bite and they can scare away the fish!” She warned to explain why she had stopped to stare at the water so intently. She didn't see anything dangerous nearby so far, so she ventured a step into the water. It wasn't as icy cold as it could be in the fall, but it wasn't as nice and warm as it was in the summer. Uncomfortable at first, but she quickly got used to it. “Miyav! It's safe! Come in!” She announced as she turned to the woman once the water reached halfway up her calves, her eyes flicking encouragingly from Mei to the water to make sure the situation stayed just as safe as it was moments ago.

Mei, although not unintelligent by any means, wondered what Catrina was planning, just for a moment. Even though she was wearing the gear, and had just selected fish from a list of other wild animals, she still failed to make the connection. That is, until Catrina began to push her towards the water. She was expecting her to get into the water, wasn't she? Now she was a little glad she had picked fish, frogs or ducks were scarier than fish! Still, she couldn't help but be nervous, and she unconsciously resisted when Catrina pushed her.
When the pressure on her back disappeared, Mei paused to pull at her skirt. She didn't want to get it wet, so she pulled it up halfway around her thighs and tied it into a knot. "Are you sure? Nothing's going to bite me?" she asked nervously, looking at the water. She could run away from ducks, but turtles and snakes? "I don't want to step on anything...!" She fretted at the water edge for a few moments before taking a few steps forward into the water. Ahhh, it felt so weird! "It's so slimy," she remarked as she continued to step cautiously, trying not to slip.

Before bothering to look back at the woman, Catrina's eyes had come to focus on the water's surface. Not because she was still searching for those annoying pests that came with fishing – she had already assured herself several times over that they weren't here for now – but on the ripples in the water. Normally, those would send off alarms as it could either mean a snake or something worse, but by the sporadic nature.. Yeah, she knew right away that this was Mei. She withheld a sigh at how the woman disturbed the water, but she couldn't really blame her considering it was her first time hunting.. Still, it she wouldn't be surprised if all the fish had swam away just for that!
“Be careful, mau!” She whispered to the woman as she swiveled her head back to glance at her, holding a finger up to grab her attention without any disruptive movements. Mei's clumsiness was no reason to slack off on her part, after all! “Watch..” She said carefully as she slowly slid her feet forward, feeling the mud slick underneath but not really caring so much over it. Hey, she was in water, it would just rinse off anyway! A moment of silence passed before, suddenly, she ducked her head under the water with as little splash as she could manage with such a quick movement. Under the water, the cat stayed, but it wasn't quite deep enough to conceal her entire form as her bottom stuck straight up over the water's surface, still as can be.
What was she doing? It was hard to tell unless one were right under with her, but it wasn't like there was much of a chance to do that as she came back up a second later with a cry of excitement! A small, but still so lively trout flailed in her hands eager to escape! “Mei! Hurry, hurry, catch! Merow~!” She shoved the flopping fish at the woman before turning to go back under for something else~ Oh~!! Hunting was so fun!

Mei stopped where she was when Catrina addressed her. She wasn't entirely sure what she had to be careful of, but she wasn't going to risk it, just in case it was a snake or a lake monster or something. She had wrapped her arms around herself without noticing it, in her anxiety, and so she stood, hugging herself, as she watched Catrina plunge under the water. It took all she had not to jump. She peered at the cat girl for a long moment, watching her carefully. Honestly, the woman was being a little slow, but when was she ever not slow when it came to Catrina? She wasn't entirely sure what her roommate was doing. She just wondered how long she could hold her breath, because that was definitely longer than what Mei could do.
All of a sudden, Catrina emerged from the water and called for her to catch. Mei's hands shot out on reflex, and it wasn't until her fingers closed around something wet, slimy, scaly, and moving did she actually begin to think about the situation. She stared down at the fish in her hands in horror, unable to move for the longest moment of her life. "Hyaaa!" Then, with a high-pitched cry, Mei threw the fish, as hard as she could, onto the ground. She wasn't far from the side, and so the trout hit the grass and flopped around wildly in place. "What was that?" she breathed, as if her soul was escaping with one long breath. Gripping her blouse in surprise, she watched the fish thrash desperately. She had touched a fish! It was gross, but she hadn't let it go away! Still, her heart was racing, and so she turned to where Catrina -- or rather, her a** -- was positioned. "Please, Catrina, a warning next time," she said, though she couldn't help but smile.

A minute passed before Catrina came back up, none the wiser of Mei and her little battle with the fish she had caught a while ago – oh, no, her mind was entirely on the second fish she had managed to get in her hands, her eyes wild with delight as she tossed that one back at the woman too. Oh, she loved spring time! It was the perfect time to hunt! Just look at how many fish she had caught in such a short time~! Of course, it was only two, but with how close to the shore they were and considering Mei's movements scaring away many of the more delectable fish, this was really good! She was just about to duck back under when she realized, after handing over another struggling fish to Mei, that this wasn't what she was supposed to be doing! This was Mei's hunting trip, not Catrina's! She frowned at herself and turned to the woman, shaking her head to fling off a multitude of loose droplets of water, although she was still dripping even after the action.
“Mau, merow..” She started before clearing her throat, her hands going to her hips, “Mew.. That's how you catch a fish! It's easy, mjau~!” Yes, she was just demonstrating! Not getting caught up in the moment at all! She held her hand out for the woman to take once she was done dealing with the second fish, simply waiting patiently and with some curiosity to see just how Mei dealt with their fresh catches. She hadn't stayed up to really see what Mei had done with the first fish.. Did she put it in her shirt? The woman's bra could probably hold a fish or two.. How convenient! Maybe she should try wearing one too if they could work as pouches~?

-New day- Hansel arrived to the Lake with a bottle of champagne he had buried somewhere in his kitchen cabniets. But wasnt Champagne alcohol? Well just not alot of it, Hansel! He also brought two glasses with him in a nice little basket. He looked around to find Arwen and a nice little boat with some paddles. The weather was beautiful out, and the sun was a nice place in the sky. Oh this was going to be wonderful. But he had to keep it together no more fumbling! She was just his assistant! His hot, kind, amazing assistant...

_____________"Hans!"
Arwen came up to the shore line of the lake in a boat. She stood up once the wood made contact with the ground and slid up. She walked up to the front and jumped off to the ground, stumbling a little. The woman walked up to Hansel with a smile on her face and glanced back at the boat for a split second.
"I found it on the bank. Looks like we won't have to rent one after all. Weird how that works out. ." She looked at the things in his hands. A basket and a bottle of champagne. Just like she asked for. "Oh hey, you brought them. Wonderful. Let's go then shall we?"
She turned her back to him and headed to the boat again. Arwen climbed in from the side and sat down on a bench near the back of the boat. she had expected him to do the paddling since she made it there. Please he was the guy, it made sense for him to do it. For some reason, the boat ride was making her excited. She wasn't sure if it was because this was her date or because she gets to share the fun with him.

Wow! Sweet! Hans smiled and climbed into the boat along with Arwen. He set the basket down in the boat and took hold of the oars not thinking of it really. I mean what idiot man wouldn't row a boat for a beautiful woman out onto a beautiful lake?! Hans pushed away from the shore and started rowing slowly out to the middle of the lake. Hey they were in no hurry, and it helped him calm some. "Ztis is vondervoll. I dont ztink ive ever been out heir before." Hans admitted as he looked around the Lake while he rowed . "Ist very pretty, out heir.... Vow.." Hans said as he stopped rowing for a moment.

_____________She grabbed hold of the sides of the boat when he kicked off the shore. It always wobbled a little from a force pushing a solid object to float on liquid. Once back in the middle of the lake, only with a passenger now, she gazed at the water and the woods around them. It was a perfect place for a first date to not be disrupted. Arwen returned her attention to Hans when he spoke up, admiring the place.
"Imagine being able to wake up to such a view. I wasn't always where you found me. I moved around a lot to keep a low profile and to keep safe."
Being bold about things and picking up the pace, the woman reached for the bottle and pulled it in her lap. She then grabbed the basket, assuming there would be a pair of glasses for the both of them. Opening the lip, she saw that her assumption was correct. Arwen placed the two glasses on a bench between Hansel and herself and popped open the bottle of champagne. She held the opening over the bottle so that the foam would spill into the lake instead of the boat, even though some of it had spilled in already. After the fuzz died away, she poured the liquid into both glasses and set the bottle down with the basket. She then held her drink and offering him his.
"Cheers."
