When the Flareon was knocked flat, Byakko's ears perked up and she trotted over to nose him. "Vee?" she asked with a head tilt, wondering if Bunsen was okay.
Nikki lifted a brow skeptically. "If you say so." Was her answer before turning her gaze towards the menu as the line progressed. "What do you recommend?"

"Caramel Cappuccino." She stated rather enthusiastically. "It doesn't taste like coffee, and they put whipped cream on top of it." Nyx loved coffee and coffee-like products, this much could be seen. Unfortunately for Nikki, if coffee made her jittery, the recommended drink would probably be worse.
Bunsen shook his head to clear it from the stunned state the crash had left him in. "Flare!" It looked like he was fine. The Flareon stood and started to paw at the smaller Eevee's tail. Half time was over, the game was back on.

Hm. That sounded fancy, and very sweet. It piqued her interest a bit. "Then I will try it." Nikki decided, never having actually had the combination of coffee with copious amounts of sugar before. She had only tried the original style of coffee, in a mug with creamer and all that. It didn't impress her very much. The possible consequences didn't actually cross her mind.
Byakko batted her paw back at the Flareon, but flattened her ears and looked back to her trainer. She had been told not to play in here after all.

"Flare?" Bunsen looked back at the Eevee's trainer. His ears lowered and he walked over to stand by Nyx's feet. No play made Bunsen sad.
Finally it was their turn. "Two caramel cappuccino, please. One with extra caramel." The Rocket Barista pressed a few buttons and Nyx pulled out her punch card and swiped her ID through the card reader. He punched two holes in the 'Rocket Cafe', 10 drinks, get 1 free card'. Two more drinks and that card was done.
Nyx smiled at Nikki as some people behind the counter started working on their drinks. "I got it."

Nikki blinked at Nyx's order and was about to protest, but as the card was swiped, it was already done. She paused, frowned a little, and looked mildly embarrassed.
"You didn't have to do that," she muttered quietly. As they waited however, she began to fiddle with the blue feather earring that dangled from one ear. It had formed into a nervous habit.
Byakko pouted a little herself, and slumped against Nikki's boot, looking forlornly at Bunsen. No play made her sad too.

"Its no trouble." Nyx shrugged and picked up her drink when they were finished. "Plus, you shouldn't have to waste money on something you might not like." She walked over to a table, Bunsen close behind her heels, and took a seat, and a sip of her drink.
"Mmm..."

"Thanks..." Nikki murmured quietly, taking her drink and studying it carefully. This would be her first experience with a cappuccino. Peering into the cup, her eyes were met with a big glob of white whipped cream, with caramel drizzled over it.
Wandering after Nyx, she stuck her finger into the white stuff and put some of it into her mouth. Her eyes widened momentarily at the sweet taste, as if she'd never had it before. "Interesting..." she said to herself, although she hadn't actually taken a sip yet.
She soon did though, and she grimaced slightly as it was a bit too hot. The coffee taste was subtle, mostly overpowered by the high levels of sugar mostly from the caramel and whipped cream, as well as the milk.

Nyx sat back in her chair and pat her belly. Those first few drinks always warmed a tummy. "You like it?"
Bunsen took the opportunity of Nyx leaning back to jump up onto her lap. "Wha- Hi." Nyx raised her arms up and waited for the pokemon to settle and lay down. It was awkward, having an almost three foot tall creature on your lap, but it was manageable.
"So," Her eyes were drawn to that blue feather, "Where'd you get the earring?" It was an interesting fashion choice. And only in one ear.

At least about a foot of that was ears, but yes, Eevee were much better to have in your lap. Although Byakko quietly sat beside Nikki's chair. She had been taught not to jump in laps unless invited, and she hadn't been invited.
The blonde agent took a few more sips and hummed lightly at the taste. "Its a bit too sweet for my liking, but it will do."
The question caused brown eyes to lift towards Nyx and a small smirk graced Nikki's features. The feather in question shimmered in the light, like ice. "I found this in the Sky Peak Mountains. Its from an Articuno. Got me promoted."
The feather had actually been rather large, her earring was only made from the top part which they had let her keep as a memento. The shaft had been kept for DNA sampling.

"I see," Nyx took a sip of her drink. "I wonder when the sampling will be done. It would be interesting to see one of those flying around." She smiled; It was possible that the feather would have no usable DNA, or that it would take a very long time to get anything useful, plus the actual cloning process (at least the first time around) tended to take more time. But still, it was interesting.
"I didn't do anything nearly that extraordinary. Or extraordinary at all. Just, did a lot of work down in the labs." She shrugged and took another sip of her cappuccino.

Nikki shrugged and continued sipping at her own drink intermittently. "That's your department, not mine. As handy as I'm sure clones are, I prefer the real thing." In other words she didn't really care. She wanted to see and catch the real Articuno, not a cheap copy.
"Hm. A competent grunt seems extraordinary to me," she said with a smirk. "They're few and far between."

"I'd say they're just as good as the real thing. Unless, I suppose, you're looking to control space and time..." Nyx shrugged. Some people just didn't appreciate clones, or how much more wonderful they were than the original copies. The originals were not made from science!
Nyx sipped between talking points. She didn't have too terribly much longer to sit around, but it was nice what time she did have. "Ah, well. I suppose it was good for me that they are so sparse."
Bunsen placed he head on the table and stared at the other girl. Things on the table smelled interesting.

After a few minutes of sipping that sugar sweet coffee, Nikki started feeling happy.. like... REALLY happy. It was odd, and suddenly she found herself giggling as the sugar and caffeine started rapidly kicking in. Since she didn't usually indulge in it, it didn't really take much.
"Psh. Who would want to control space and time. I'm only interested in the birds. I've always wanted to see an Articuno. They're so pretty. I remember reading about them when I was a kid."
The words came out quickly and with a bit of enthusiasm that was unusual for the typically serious agent.

"I don't know, space time would be useful to control. But I suppose if you just like the birds. They don't seem to do terribly much more than be pretty and rare. I'd think a clone would do fine." She smiled, Nikki was interesting to see hyped up on caffeine.
"Though, I guess its something akin to going to see your favorite band, only to have a cover band show up instead... At least you have an autograph." Nyx finished off the last of her drink and seemed to be no more hyper than usual, but slightly more awake.

Nikki paused and frowned, perhaps even a flash of anger burning in her eyes for a moment at Nyx's derogatory statement.
"I resent that. A lot. The legendary birds do more than 'just look pretty.' You're obviously not well educated on Pokemon legends and lore."
Nyx's statement in Nikki's eyes was akin to telling the scientist that Einstein was a fraud.
"Now if you'll excuse me. Thanks for the drink, but I have other things to do." With that she rose from her seat and beckoned Byakko to follow her.
