I'd have to agree with Fuu not being a likeable love interest. Then agian my say might not be worth much seeing as how I haven't been keeping up with Champloo.
I was watching a bit of Azumanga Daioh then I kinda stopped to take a break from it and watched the .hack//GIFT episode.
ah, .hack//GIFT, that was some crazy crap there.

I finished Samurai Champloo. I love Mugen, I love his fighting style. Still don't like Fuu much, as far as Jin goes I could take him or leave him.
I'm gonna start watching Ping Pong Club this weekend.

I hate Mugen.
I guess I'm just old fashioned and subtle so that's why I like Jin.
CJ and I watched the entire Ping Pong Club first disc in one sitting (it's about 2 hours, 8 episodes, I think).
We have the second one now. It's pretty silly and perverted. The animation is very GTO/Cromartie High.

Jin is every mysterious, kind samurai in every anime ever.
Chris has the Ping Pong Club manga and he reads it all the time, over and over again. I think he identifies with the characters.

I liked both Mugen and Jin a lot, I think they had their own little quirks that kind of helped break the stereotypes that they were built after. My favorite episodes were the ones that presented their relationship in a more humorous tone. No details come to mind right now though, I'm gonna have to watch the series again...
Mugen was my favorite though... for obvious reasons? biggrin

karomon Jin is every mysterious, kind samurai in every anime ever. I think he was more badass than Mugen, who was a cheesy 'hip' clown samurai like 99% of the time. Jin kinda reminded me of Seijiro Hiko from Rurouni Kenshin, who I think is my favorite samurai ever.

I finally got around to watching Wallace and Gromit - The Curse of the Were-Rabbit. What a joy, well up to Aardman's usual standard (some would say surpassing it, as it won the Oscar...!). With our favourite characters solving another problem by means of Wallace's inventions and Gromit's brain cells (he's sort of like a doggy Hercule Poirot), and a classy love interest for Wallace thrown in for good measure, this really is the business. The cinematic references come thick and fast, from King Kong to Frankenstein, Doctor Jekyll and Mister Hyde, Snoopy and the Red Baron and many more - the pleasure is in sitting there watching and counting them off!
