Her name was Tahki, right? He would keep that in mind for future reference, when they weren't so restricted in literature or in class generally. She almost made him burst out in to laughter at her reaction, it was so obvious he could of died. . . Metaphorically. With a pleased grin, he eyed her a few more moments as to not be rude before hesitantly pulling his gaze away from the gryphon ghoul.
Surprisingly, he had never seen her race before now and it showed they were beautiful creatures. Something told him just from that moment, that this wasn't gonna be such a dull, boring and lonely school year after all.

Tahki turned her attention back to the teacher too. Her small smile stayed planted on face. She hadn't had many interactions with others her age and the ghost seemed nice enough. Tahki felt a bit of weight lift off her shoulders of relief. Maybe this year was going to be worth while.
Maybe she'd bump into him again after class and see what sort of things he liked. Maybe she'd try to make a friend. Maybe.
The gryphon twiddled her thumbs. She'd never really talked to a ghost before. Let alone many boils her own age. Ghouls for that matter too. Many beings of her age range would sum it up.

"Hi!" mouthed back Pachua looking quite pleased to be noticed, his tail feathers rebelliously fluffing despite otherwise reasonably good posture.
She smiled! wonderful... she found him terrifying AND smiled. It never crossed his mind to wonder how that worked out. She -smiled-

((OOC: Hey guys! I just wanted to let everyone know that I'll be replying to all the new students shortly, but the reading prompt will take a bit longer than I planned to get up. I was out of town for three days, and my first day back to work (yesterday), I found out that I'm getting a transfer and promotion. The next few days are going to be busy for me, but there will be a prompt up soon! Thanks everyone for being interested in Dr. Alabaster's class! <333))

Dr. Alabaster shuffled his papers at his desk and quickly jotted down all the student's names and various slanderous info about them. This was, of course, for his own personal records. He had student log upon student log stashed away in his office from when he began his teaching as a bright-eyed and dashing young stallion. If you dug hard enough, you'd find all sorts of incriminating tidbits about all sorts of notable people.
He began to hand out books to everyone. "This is your homework assignment. Be sure to read it and reflect on it with the most diligence your feeble minds are capable of."

Julian peeked out through his fingers when Dr. Alabaster spoke of homework. Oh, he'd heard some of the students after him, one of the voices even sounded as nervous as he was. He'd peeked out then too, took a quick glance before covering his face again. It really was the homework that caught his attention, though.
Seeing his professor passing out the books, he slowly let his hands fall from his face trying to peek at the cover. He wondered what it would be. Would it be interesting? An easy read? Reflect on it? Did that mean Dr. Alabaster expected them to just... Read it and think about it? Should he take notes while he read, or would that make him look like an overachiever?
Wait... He already kinda was an overachiever in these kind of classes.

Calder eager waited for Professor Alabaster to come by and hand him his book. Despite his insult, Calder smiled bright at him and, as he took the book. let his fingertips brush against the man's hand before taking the novel and clutching it to his chest. Oh, he would read this the first second he got and read it over and over, memorize it, and then recite it for his dear Alabaster if he wanted. No. He'd do it and surprise him next call. Maybe even do this homework in his best handwriting and make sure it was extra long with lots of impressive words. Profile

Lizzy looked rather happy as she took the book from the professor, looking at it fondly as she examined the cover; she enjoyed a good read! And since this text is from the teacher, it must be good, right? Her smile widened; she can't wait to start!

Rain didn't care for homework much.. it required brain power that she usually lacked. She hoped it wouldn't be hard. Didn't they know zombies weren't exceptionally bright? She was by far smart among them but even then.. she was no where as intelligent as some of the other students. (( Meeki))

She let out a long, drawn out sigh. If it's one thing she disliked doing, it was homework. It took time away from more important things, like shopping, hanging out with ghoulfriends, pranking and of course, trying on all her favorite outfits and staring at herself in the mirror. Cheating would be out of the question, no doubt.(( Meeki))
