A small chuckled escaped Jonas lips as he heard her remark. If he was going to die he might as well take in his last view of a beautiful female.
"...I might add you got very nice legs." He said as he coughed up a bit more blood before a shiver ran down his body. His vision growing more grey.
As he heard her suddenly snap at the girl he shook his head weakly. "Don't...yell at...her." He said as he felt warm fingers against his cold ones. He tried to make another cheeky comment but he suddenly found his voice not wanting to working and he could breath.
As he started to slip away he heard the little's girls voice and a sudden bright flash in his vision and it seemed to travel through her to him. He suddenly felt the pain quickly going away and then he found himself coughing up blood again, this time it was the equivalent of coughing up water after nearly drowning.
Finally after Jonas had cleared out his lungs he rolled over onto his and pushed his back and took up a sitting position. Looking at the Hraapea girl for a moment a look of bewilderment on his face before looking at her guardian. Finally he looked back at Lorena before giving her a wide smile. "Thank you so much sweetheart. Thank you." He said as he wiped the blood from his mouth before standing up, looking them both over. "Your both alright?"
He asked as if nothing happen, and when dealing with hreaapea a lot of things happen.

In her mind, Sera was picturing herself kicking him square in the groan. It would have made up for the comments she was going to put up with only because he was hurt. Still she kept close to him, watching her child with everything she could.
Yet it was that child that caught her attention.
"Lorena?" As the child started to glow, Sera's eyes had to close. She couldn't see anymore.
When the light returned to normal, Sera looked from Lorena's form towards Jonas. He was sitting and looking almost...alive? What had happened?
Lorena laid next to the form of Jonas. Her eyes were closed and she appeared to be resting.
"What...weren't you...what...Lorena..."
Her knees gave out under her and she dropped down next to both forms. "Someone..."

Jonas sat silently as he watched Sera for a moment. She was reacting...strangely to say the least. He looked beside him to see the little girl was asleep, he didn't know how much strain that had been.
He let out a sigh as he watched Sera still, he didn't respond hoping she would snap out of it herself. Right now he was in wonderment at the fact all of his pain was gone and a few old aliments. The arthritis he had in his right wrist was gone, something he had since he became "old".
"Sera snap out of it." Jonas said gently as he leaned forward and gently gave her a few shakes. "It's fine, your daughters okay." He said not sounding like the guy he was a few moments earlier with one reason, actual concern.

Lorena wasn't moving. Her eyes twitched every now and then but she remained still. A peaceful breath came and went from the little chest. Had she not just scared the life out of her mother, the child would look beautiful asleep next to Jonas' form.
Sera wasn't in the same condition. Not only had she been completely shocked by Jonas' actions but her own daughter's had just taken every ounce of reason out of her body. That shouldn't have happened. Half bird or not, no one should have that kind of ability. "Lorena..." Her voice cracked in a whisper as she shifted one hand free.
Jonas' touch shook her eyes into a rabid blinking motion. "What..." Shaking her head, those blue eyes looked around. "What happened? You should be laying down!"
Finally scanning the area, Sera realized the truth: they had a problem. A big problem...
"Are we stuck?'

Jonas wasn't much sure himself of why he was even able to breath right now. A few moments ago he was drowning in his own blood, now he was feeling like he was twenty five again.
His eyes drifted to the little girl for a moment his shaky thought train was starting to question if she was even from this mortal realm. He could sworn she looked like a angel...didn't matter right now.
"You daughter saved me is what happened. Laying down isn't the best thing right now..." He said shifting to look at the door. Now just a jumble of wood and stone. And people said the Romans were great at building stuff, bull.
"Depends on what you mean as stuck. I don't have a back door and the wall is of a thick stone, oh and the windows are too small for us to fit through." He didn't mean for it to sound like a smart comment, he was just in a really good mood. Even though he does have a homocidal house at the moment.

What had just been panic for her daughter's life became shock. Her face fell white as she slowly turned her head to gave at the elder form of her employer. Eyes wide and jaw twitching, she didn't want to believe him.
"So what are you saying?"
Her voice was tight and dry. She knew what he was saying. They were trapped. Lorena was passed out after using her energy to save him. At least that meant her daughter wasn't going to be panicing. Now she had to keep herself from doing the same.
"Nevermind..."
Dropping her head as she sat back on her heels, Sera shut her eyes. Get a grip. Things could be worse. You could have lost her or both your lives..."
"So what now? I don't know how long she will be out but there is something you can answer me..."
Sera's eyes turned up, icy once more. "You know more about the hraapea than you have admitted...talk."

Jonas watched the woman that was now his fellow trapped person. Hearing her sudden question he just gave a frown and shook his head looking at the little girl again. Maybe she could fit through the window and go get help...or maybe she had another ability, either way she was important.
As he heard her question him then paused his eyes blue eyes drifted up to her a frown was shown with them but he licked his lips for a moment thinking.
"Well we wait...and get calm back. As for the hraapea..." He moved his head from side to side for a moment before finding the correct words.
"For the hraapea I'm looking to obtain one. I already meet two so far, well three counting your daughter." He said standing up for a moment before walking into the study and coming out with a picture of Felicity. "And the reason I want one...is to train it as a vanguard for humanity and for them and...to have something I never was lucky enough to have." His voice held the sort of calm and coolness that came from his military past.
It was true, he saw them as a possible threat. Better then a human and more dangerous too.

Had this man come along the day she recieved Lorena, she might have handed the girl over to him. Now, as she watched Jonas strand, Sera felt a sting of motherly protection set in. He would not lay a hand on her daughter.
While Jonas walked back into his study, Sera crawled on all fours over to Lorena's side. Finally she was able to check on her condition. Life was still flowing through her vines and thus, she was alive. Maybe a bit tired but nothing a nap wouldn't cure.
Knowing this, Sera felt her shoulders fall with a sigh. Ask her a month ago if she would ever feel this way about a child and she might have laughed. Now, she would have been surprised if she wasn't panicing.
The man's voice caught her ear. So he wanted one? Well it wasn't like she would just hand over Amerald's address to this guy. No, that wasn't going to happen. Not after he informed her of his wish.
"You can't do that." She whispered, placing a hand on her daughter's warm cheek. "You cannot put them in danger like that."

The day Jonas was going got his chance to find this man he was going to make sure he got one. By any means necessary, he had spent to much time and money into this to just let it die.
Seeing the woman suddenly next to her unconcisou daughter he knew once again that she wasn't going to give up the location of this human-god. She was just like the others in that fact, they were loyal to this individual.
"I don't think there is much choice." He said sitting down a distance across from her. "Think about it, you daughter just saved my life in a way no mortal being could. You don't think there is one that could easily take mine or yours, possibly even your daughters?" He asked her tilting his head slightly.
"Think about it. What if one day a hraapea realizes that it's virtually a demi-god among us. Do you think it's really going to stay hidden behind it's mother skirts? Besides, if it came down to it how many hraapea do you think would actually try to stop another of their kind. How many do you think would even know how to kill another human being?" His voice came out with a errie truth that he had realized a long time ago.
"Hraapea are angles among humans...so which one would turn on their God and who would be the one to fight it? Your daughter?" He said still keeping his tone before something dawned on him like all the other hraapea guardians. "I wont take her, even if I did she wouldn't be able to train like I want."

"Jonas, I don't think you have a clue what you are talking about." Sera whispered as she moved once more closer to Lorena. brushing loose hair from her face, the woman took a deep breath. "Lorena might have just healed you but as she stands now, that is all she can do. And if you didn't notice, she wasn't controlling it." Finally snapping her eyes back, Sera gave a hard, fierce glare. If the man attempted anything she would kill them there and then.
But what he said next caught her off guard. Though Lorena only healed, she didn't have a clue what those other stones could do. Could one of them possibly kill?
"Say I see your point, answer me something then." She started to say before glancing down at the red head. "Say you gained a son or daughter of your own, what is to say that if they turned against their 'god' that they wouldn't do the same to you?"

He got a small laught out of her telling him he didn't know what he was talking about. All the infomration gathering; the meetings, what he just saw, she didn't know what she was talking about. "I'll tell you the truth, I probably know more about Hraapea then you do. I been searching for this...god for so long. Did you know they can kill a snapper hound or that their growth rate is way faster then ours?" he questioned before scratching the back of his neck. "For now. Think about it though, if she can heal right now what if she gains more power? Maybe bring the dead back to life?"
Seeing the look on her face he could tell he hit a nerve. Maybe she knew how the Hraapea gained or learned these powers. He might pry later.
He tilted his head at hearing her statement. What would he do. "If they turned on there god...then I obviously did a horrible job as a father." He said giving a slight smile before sighing. "Well...all the effort would of been wasted and I created a monster. I'll take full responsiblity and..." His voice lowered for a moment as the thought of having to terminate his own child came into his mind.
"And I would deal with it before it becomes a issue. If I can't get them to change...I'll do what a maker should do. Kill the monster they created." His voice slowly turned into a whisper as the image appeared in front of him in his head. "Tell me Sera...rather you know that if another Hraapea threatened your daughter's way of life that another one would defend it? Or would you rather have the public know and let the executions begin?"

"Then I have my work cut out for me." Sera snapped back as she felt her grip tighten on her daughter's slender arm. What Jonas was saying wasn't sure she could handle. Raising the death? What could that mean for the world? For Lorena herself? It couldn't be that easy. Maybe she would have to see Amerald again one day...
But Jonas shocked her. How could he...could she?
Shaking her head to clear her thoughts, Sera felt Lorena stir under her hands. "Jonas, you want to teach them greatness when they cannot have the world because of the royal. Tell me, what will happen when they learn that they have to keep hidden? That their gift is also a curse?"

Jonas stiffled a laugh at hearing Sera's sudden retort to him. It wasn't that he was mocking her, she just seemed cute mad. After the sudden urge he went back to watching her. He felt bad that he had to give her these negatives thoughts but he had to. She needed to understand the world they lived in.
"Simple, I'll tell them to live in the shade." He said a smile coming on his face as he pointed at Lorena. "Stop viewing their bird parts and start viewing her human parts. Tell her to wear a loose shirt and keep her wings to her back, then giver her a long skirt to cover her tail feathers and hey! You have a human girl no one will look twice at." He smiled back at her then shrugged lazily.
"Like I said, a curse is what you make it. Some curses are gifts in disguise. Of course this is upon your choice of how to raise her. I know a guardian who's hraapea is a grown adult but her mentaity is like a child and he's always protecting her. If he dies what will become of her? If it comes your time can you say you taught her how to live among humans? If not a lot of things could happen..."

Sera could already see that he and Jonas had two completely different views in raising a child. She was more in favor of letting the girl be everything she could be. As a young girl, Sera explained the wings and tail as a child play thing. Kids were always wearing costumes and playing games. It worked most the time.
But here, this man was willing to hide everything that made them special to mix. Of course at times it had to happen, Sera was sure but things just had to work out...
"Maybe you should think of that first." Sera finally snapped back as her eyes jetted from Lorena towards Jonas. No matter how great the man felt now, he was still far older than herself. If nothing went crazy and they lived through this, he would pass before she did. "I am 25 and do not plan on leaving my child any time soon. Yourself on the other hand, well, about double my age? By natural balance, you shouldn't be having a child now anyway."

The conversation they were having made Jonas wonder more in more if their was anything in common among the people he meet who had Hraapea. Each one had virtually nothing in common expect they were adult.
At hearing Sera pick at his age he glared slightly at her. He knew it was the undeniable truth, he would probably be dead in the next twenty years were as she had probably another sixty. "I have..."
"Half plus nine...people die young and old. The only difference is I have less time to teach them what they need to survive in our world." He said looking at Lorena. "I'll die in a few years...I just want to finally leave something behind..." Jonas's voice was low, almost to low to hear but it carried the tone of a man who feels that he haven't fulfilled anything in life.
