Linraku gazed over the scene of demons migrating into the party area. She’d heard of these parties and this was her first opportunity to finally attend one. The purple elder didn’t really know anyone, but many seemed familiar from the stories she’d heard about them.

There was one rather unusual glowing demon. His oddity seemed faintly familiar, as something she might remember from an elusive dream on a floating world. It brought to mind the word, Netherstorm. Something about the word felt like a memory, but she couldn't bring a picture to mind.

A youngster skidded to a stop beside her. The young demon’s wings were quivering with excitement. Her young eyes wide with wonder at the sight of so many Winikos mingling together.

Linraku smiled lovingly at her spawn. The youngling reminded Linraku so much of her father. She hadn’t seen him again after their fateful meeting when both had been escaping the lunacies of their mortals. That was a quest she wouldn’t mind pursuing again.

“Go have fun. Try not to kill anyone,” Linraku said to her daughter.

In a flurry of leathery wings and clinking metal, Razuku skidded to a stop beside the purple elder. Her mother had to said to follow, and she wasn’t one to wait around to see if you were obeying. If you weren’t ready to move at a moment’s notice, you got left behind.

Razuku’s glowing blue eyes widened in awe at the colorful spectacle spread out before her. Demons of all shapes, colors and sizes! She was sure they all had colorful stories to tell too. And the food! The dark blue demon child could hardly hold herself in place waiting for her mother to lead on so she could get closer to the food.

‘Go have fun’ was all Razuku needed to hear and she was in motion. Her golden armored feet flew as she raced into the middle of the mingling Winikos and out of hearing range of her mother’s warning.

Dream Shade stood in the shadows watching. Red eyes, shining in a skull face, darted from demon to demon. She hadn’t expected there to be so many. “This may not be a good idea,” she whispered. Her yellow hair ruffled from fluttering wings over her head. The mini demon hovering over her head tsk’d tsk’d at her.

“You can’t pass this up,” replied the mini demon. “Look at all that food. And I hear music. There must be dancing somewhere.”

Black ears perked up in the red hair. Dancing? She liked dancing. Even if she could never find anyone to dance with. But that could wait. The summer breeze was bringing the smells of sweet cakes and candy to her little hideaway in the shadows.

“We’re wasting time! Let’s go!” said the fluttering brown demon. Zipping through the air, she zigged zagged over the Winiko already mingling.

Dream Shade didn't hesitate. If she lost sight of the mini demon, she’d have to navigate this crowd on her own. That was too scary to imagine.

Shroom was glad Dream Shade had finally agreed to come to the party. Shroom was a happy-go-lucky mini demon and she was a sucker for the underdog. She'd befriended the ugly demon when she found that everyone else avoided her.

The mini demon did her best to help the skull-faced wini build her self-confidence. Sometimes, Shroom was a bit too helpful, even to the point of being annoying. But Dream Shade usually gave in to Shroom's cajoling. After all, the perky fluttering demon was her only friend.

User Image Erudite slowly swam up, and out of the water. He'd been quietly watching for some time and was fascinated by all the goings on. A party! Well, it would certainly be a chance for his Colorfulness to get to know others. He laughed, silently, at his mocking name for himself, and walks to a spot off to one side, and shook off, so as not to soak anyone. He then slowly approached the crowd, looking around to see if he knew anyone, or there was anyone he wanted to talk to. He noted Loki, and Aurianna, and nodded to the two Elders, but didn't approach... He wanted to meet some one new.

After a minute, he noticed a Mini and an interesting female with a skull face. He looked the pair over, and then wandered towards them, his fish tale flickering. "Hello..." He said, his voice soft, slightly breathy perhaps. "You seem an interesting pair of friends... Might I inquire your names?" His tone was purely friendly.

Kanika's eyes widened in amazement at the ginormous glowing elder that turned to face her. There were so many wonderful moving parts and the giant floaty crystal was fantastic! This was definitely the coolest thing she had ever seen. Her little excited tail wiggled her whole rear end as the metalic giant stooped closer. She was delighted he had lowered himself more to her level.
"I'm Kanika! What's your name??" The cream colored child took a step closer as she asked, then another, until her little nose was nearly touching the gleaming face before her. She squinted one eye quizzically at the blue bar."Where are your eyes? Why do you glow? Is that a reeeeeal diamond in your tummy??"

Vienna laughed softly at Kanika, one large paw reaching to playfully ruffle her hair. "That's my girl," she murmured. Her gaze flickered to Kayin again, that same coy expression on her face.

At Gypsy's statement, however, her brow quirked and her attention turned to her. "Really, now? Now I feel so old." she laughed good-naturedly, head craning to the side to further inspect her apparent granddaughter. "Well I'd guess that he felt in trouble, but it looks like you turned out just fine, little one."

"Armada," she replied in a slow drawl, "and I usually can't wait to get away from my human. There's too many others in that house, I can never find a quiet place to sleep." She rolled her eyes, wings fluttering gently. "Besides, she's handled herself well enough without me, I don't really feel a need to watch her." A shrug.

Shroom turned at the softly spoken Hello. Her eyes brightened at the colorful demon.

"Hi there! You're pretty!" Hovering closer to the wini's face, "Ooh, even your eyes are different colors."

Dream Shade, startled by the greeting, looked up, then quickly tucked her head down to let her hair cover her face. She glanced up, peeking through her tendrils of hair. She couldn't remember ever seeing so many colors in one place.

"My name is Shroom." Looking down at Dream Shade, Shroom had hoped her friend might give her name, but no sound came from the hair covered face appearing to be studying the ground. "My shy friend is Dream Shade," the mini demon added.

Dream Shade remained silent, letting Shroom, as usual, do all the talking.

Wow... it seemed to have been forever since she had actually come out of her little hole she had seemed drilled into lately. Ilinea tilted her head to view all the pretty banners and festivities flying all around her. She smiled, her face following a small butterfly as it flitted passed her. Ilinea wasn't completely sure what she was doing here, but she saw the fliers saying how wonderful the event would be. The demon wrapped her tail around her, trotting off to see what could be of this little event.

Newt was bored, something that plagued her night and day recently. Though, in her defense, there was often very little for a creature as utterly insane as she was to do. Her mind was far too often a jumble of thoughts, enough that it kept her distracted from doing any real harm.

She sat a ways off from the other demons, sharp nails tracing little patterns in the sand. Her eyes traced over those around her, taking in the sights as her ears perked to pick up on random bits of conversation. Most of them seemed to be enjoying themselves. The bright banners and happy sounds only made Newt want to cringe.

She would need to find something to do, and soon. Tormenting other demons offered it's own breed of entertainment. But that just wasn't as appealing anymore. Too many years of doing exactly the same thing over and over again. And this new human situation just proved to be more trouble than it was worth. It left her confused and irritated really. Boredom with no real solution in sight. So she had trudged her way out to see what this big fuss was all about.

But now, what to do, oh what to do...

Erudite smiled warmly at the small winiko as she fluttered up close. "Why thank you. I appreciate the compliment, Miss Shroom." He nodded his head, then peered at Night/Dream Shade curiously, wondering if she was, perhaps, shy, or found him offensive for some reason... Perhaps he was TOO colorful? He was unsure and resisted the urge to sigh. "It is a pleasure to meet you both, Miss Shroom and Miss Nightshade... I am Erudite, though I do not know if I live up to my name."

He gave a polite half bow, looking at Night Shade again curiously, he smiled, then turned back to Shroom. "Well if she is shy, perhaps she will warm up to talking to me in time. In the meantime, I will give her peace and chat with you, for I would never have it be said I force my attentions unwanted on those around me."

Taken slightly aback by the sudden flood of questions, Asgard gave himself a moment to consider which question to answer first, pausing as he thought long enough to step his back half around to where it was supposed to go so as not to put too much strain on the crystal keeping the two halves connected. He kept his front end crouched down both to stay on Kanika's level so she would not have to strain to look up at him as well as to not frighten her with his size as he remembered frightening Peppercorn when she was little. "Name: Asgard," he answered first, deeming his introduction to be the logical first response. "Eyes: inside optic band," he answered next and lifted one foot to lightly tap the optic band with one blunt claw in demonstration. "Glow is from graviton crystals. Crystals: not diamonds. Crystals: keep body from falling apart."

Caught by surprise when a little bundle of black, purple, and gold darted past him by the table, Perhonen lifted one foot to be certain he was not stepping on anyone. He blinked when he saw the odd little one, not like any demon he had seen before. Then again, neither was Asgard - looking around at those present, Perhonen realized he needed to let go of his preconceptions of what "normal" was for their kind. He spotted a purple winiko not too far away who sported wings similar to the young one's. Must be her mother, he reasoned.

(oops, my bad. Can't remember the name of my own wini. Previous posts have been corrected to show the right name.)

"I don't know what Erudite means, but it's a lovely name," said Shroom. "Have you been to one of these summer parties before? This is my first and it looks like great fun!"

With the colorful demon's attention on Shroom, Dream Shade lifted her head a smidge to get a better look at Erudite. She was a bit surprised when he smiled at her. Most looks she got were ones of fright or disgust. Others just turned and ran. They certainly didn't stay to chat like this one.

"And the food," continued Shroom. "We haven't had a chance to taste any yet, but it smells wonderful."

Erudite laughed softly. "My name means learned, scholarly... Having great knowledge... That sort of thing. I truly am not sure it is something that I fit. But there I am." He tilts his head. "No, this is my first time as well. I do not know if this is the first one, or if I've just missed the previous ones, or... well what really." He gave a half shrug, and smiled.

"The food does smell lovely, true." He gave Shroom a smile, then nodded to Dream Shade when he noticed her looking at him, in a friendly way. "Perhaps the three of us should go and... appropriate some of that lovely food for our personal uses?" He grinned, a bright smile.

Crowds. Why did there always have to be a crowd. Hawthorne pawed at the ground as he watched the others from a short distance away, attempting to determine if grabbing some free refreshments was really worth the unhealthy dose of social interaction he would have to endure. He gave his head a quick shake, moving to sit back on his haunches, scowling to himself.

It wasn't that he was frightened; oh no, Hawthorne was afraid of nothing, but... He just didn't like others. It was bad enough being bound to a mortal, after all. That was more than enough social interaction for him to tolerate. His eyes moved from one demon to the next, mentally determining if he could safely wade through their midst and scamper away in time to avoid the dreaded conversation. It seemed to risky from what he could tell.

Giving a great sigh soon followed by a quick snort of disdain he slowly settled himself to lay on the ground, ears drooping. He was quite hungry and thirsty... Which was what he had been lured here by in the first place. However such things could wait until he had decided whether or not the tempting treats were enough to risk casual banter with other demons. Decisions decisions.

Kayin returned Vienna's smile with a devilish grin of his own. He chuckled at his own concern of where this girl had come from, which seemed so absurd now.
"Styx huh? And that's my boy!" he joked, but it faded quickly at the realization she had said grandparentS. Oh no! They WERE getting old, even though they were demons and definitely blessed with never looking it.
"Uhg! Definitely feeling ancient...Grandpa Kayin..? uhg!" he squinted at Gypsy, looking her over again. He could see a little of himself in her too, and it sort of made being old not so bad he guessed.
"So did you wanna join us? I could drag over a bean bag for you, but only if you don't mind being seen with old fogeys like us." He said, tipping his head in Vienna's direction with a grin.

Kanika eyed Asgard, staring into the blue bar that blinked a bit as he spoke. His answers brought forth a peel of delighted giggles and she grinned.
"You have a robot voice! I like you!" She stated, and finally stopped trying to smash her face into his, in favor of peering at the crystals his crouching legs exposed. His armor looking legs were so shiiiny!
"OoooOooo! They hold you together? Are you broke? Whats gravyton? Can you float like the crystals can?" The little demon continued to investigate this new discovery, peering this way and that as she pelted him with more excited questions.
