His lack of knowledge was unhelpful to Meii, but it was far more unhelpful to Kildegard himself. Truth be told, he was pretty sure that he hadn't done a lot of help seeking; while anything that happened in his spaced out periods was a gaping hole in his memory, he tended to have pretty clear and normal memories from his lucid periods. It was due to that clarity of mind that he knew anyone or of anything, which was of some small comfort when he came to in a completely unknown place! It would be interesting to know just how many miles he'd walked and just how many people he'd met in his time that just didn't exist...

But as he didn't know about Meii's fears, there was no reason for him to share that little tidbit, so he failed to save himself from what might be a prolonged amount of supervision. Oh well.

It took a moment for him to realize that her sudden list of activities was composed of suggestions for combating the sudden wave of time and memory that would be freed up in case of cure. It was rather amusing, how determined she was about the cause of a stranger, and he laughed in response. "Well, it all sounds exciting when you describe it in that manner, but I don't know if I'd want to do that sort of thing all the time; after all, that's kinda what I do in the time I DO remember. Anyone I remember and consider a friend, I met during my lucid periods; and I end up seeing a lot of the world. Well, half of it. To be honest, I think that the first thing I'd do if I didn't have to worry about this would be to lie down and take a nap, then think about things until I myself felt like stopping."

Ok, so maybe he DID have a minor plan!

Meii stared at him.

Her mother had taught her manners as she was growing up, but in her adolescent and adult years, they hadn't necessarily stuck. Such things had been warped and twisted to benefit her on an immediate level and well, when it came to staring, this was perfectly acceptable when someone said something odd, silly or stupid. In the case of Meii, there were very few individuals in the world he she regarded as 'stupid' so it would have been safe to assume that she was probably struck by the oddity of his remarks instead. Well, she was probably momentarily surprised by the remarks and the fact that he had laughed.

"You don't have to do it all of the time," she pointed out in a matter-of-fact tone that still seemed to be riddled with her usual light heartedness. "The main point is that you would have freedom of choice and you would remember it all," she continued. Readjusting her stance, she made herself more comfortable and fixed her gaze on him. Thankfully, she took those moments to blink a number of times and she no longer resembled a dumstruck kitten. "There would be no more periods when the demon would take over and you'd have a blank spot in your memory..."

"Just think of how many creatures you could meet and remember that way," she continued and took in a breath. The gods only knew how many creatures he had walked past while in a trance. "You wouldn't wonder why some snubbed your or acted in a strange manner because you couldn't remember them or you had done something bad that you couldn't remember..."

She paused and let this settle.

"And you could even take a nap or ponder over things without concern for waking up in an entirely different place with cuts and bruises all over you - OR a guard arresting you for crimes against a kingdom," she pointed out before lifting a brow. "Or a princess, since some of us take our jobs very seriously," she amended.

There was something backwards in being stared at so intently by a bug-Soquili. For all intents and purposes, it fell to the regular Soquili to stare at the less common breeds, if there was any staring to do at all; that, in conjunction with the typically seen (if not socially acceptable) staring directed at those that were extraordinarily good-looking, bad looking, odd looking, up to strange acts, or otherwise inciting strange looks by their behavior or existence. Kildegard had likely been stared at often in his time, but it was very rare that he'd been conscious of it as he was now.

Fortunately, he wasn't too self-conscious and responded the staring by simply staring back, accented with a big, cheerful grin. He wasn't sure if it was shock or disbelief that had pushed the mare over the edge, but there was something amusing in having buffaloed a mare so extremely confident. He started to wonder if that made him a bad person, but quickly shook the thought off when he realized how much potential it had for being another mind-sucker. Live and learn!

Though he had to say that when she recovered, she recovered well. What she said next was the most logical of anything that he'd heard from her yet, and all levity aside she was right. He might make light of it, but it was no picnic having so much of one's life be a blank spot. He could have insulted someone, attacked someone, fathered a child or children, and be completely unaware of it; fortunately such acts would theoretically require more focus than he could give while blacked out so he doubted that they'd happened, but he still could have snubbed someone, stepped on someone...there were many possibilities, and none of them were something that he really liked thinking of.

He sighed. "Honestly, it would be nice to have a full, complete memory. For all that it makes thinks interesting, it also makes things damned annoying." That was honesty there; honestly untainted by anything else.

"So you do want my help," Meii observed with a mild and triumphant smile. For a time she had started to wonder if the influence of the demon was so strong that he would reject her. Whatever had power over him, had such strength that it didn't appear he could combat it. A dire state of affairs indeed and the usually optimistic mare had started to wonder - or rather, she had until now. What he had said served to steel her resolve and ensured that she was determined now more than ever, to solve the riddle of his demonic possession.

"You do want to be free so that you can enjoy everything and remember it, so that you never have to wonder how you got a bruise or why someone won't talk to you," she continued. They were bound to be common issues and she, for one, would not have enjoyed the possibility of being snubbed. Admittedly there were creatures in the world who found her incredibly unusual, but the petite soquili didn't think this meant they disliked her.

In fact, they didn't dislike her at all.

Her smile deepened, shifting into a much warmer one and her antennae seemed to give a little quiver of anticipation. It appeared that Kildegard would not be subjected to any further batterings for the time being. Fully in control of himself, he gave her no grounds to smack him again - add this to the fact that she was starting to make progress and she was a very happy madam indeed. She took a step back to grant him some personal space and tilted her head to the side.

"Well if that's the case we had better get cracking, we're going to have to find ourselves a really powerful priest to help solve this riddle, you know?"

The tricky thing about a direct question was that it typically required a direct answer. It was baffling to contemplate, given how many years he had been wandering around with half of his life in a fog, but the fact was that Kildegard had never really been asked if he wanted anyone's help in dealing with this problem. He had been told that he had a problem; he had been told he should have his problem looked into. He had even had a few people tell him that they knew such and such a method that would cure him. It had always bottomed out to the same thing, though: him being on his own. After so many attempts, it was easy to get discouraged and simply give up trying. He couldn't blame the well-meaning folks that told him the obvious: if he were them, he wouldn't want to be entangled in the affairs of a stranger, either!

That history made it all the more surprising to be asked that question, especially by a mare like Meii who seemed to have her own mental issues to deal with. He meant no slight in that assessment, but given his own past and the fact that she thought herself a princess, it seemed logical to him! He honestly couldn't say what he expected her to do, or what she thought she'd be able to do, but her heart seemed to be in the right place; after all, there were few willing to stick their necks out for a stranger!

Still, her natural exuberance made him cautious in his reply; who knew what he might be committing himself to if he flat out-asked? He might end up with an ankle monitor for as little as a day, as long as...as long as who knew?

But after a few minutes of consideration, he had come to a decision. Frankly put, she had made him think. Think, in the still-here-in-the-present manner, which was majorly rare for him, and it wasn't as though he had anything else to look forward to. So after mulling it over for a bit, her returned her warm smile with one of his own. "Well, if you're up for the challenge, why not?"

"Now that's more like it!" the petite mare declared triumphantly. In fact, she had said it with such force that one could have assumed she had already won the battle for them. Her enthusiasm was certainly present in leaps and bounds, spurred on by his decision to give her offer of assistance a shot. It hadn't crossed the flutter's mind that he might simply be humouring her and as such, she considered his acceptance to be genuine.

She'd found a new quest, not only would it help another individual but it would also serve the fairy kingdom well. The demon would no longer possess the unfortunate stallion and trample her citizens! This was all provided that she was successful in curing him, but as a female who had never been denied anything she wanted 'failure' wasn't really something that entered her vocabulary on a regular basis. Admittedly, her goals and aspirations might come crashing down around her head the day Kildegard and she encountered a skilled enough doctor, but for the time being, her giddiness and anticipation could be permitted. Alas, she hadn't grown up just yet but when it came to real life issues, particularly those regarding another's health, such subjects had a way of opening a girl's eyes.

She might have been doing a service for Kildegard but in the future, he might end up doing a service for her as well...whether she liked it or not.

"So, with that in mind," she took a breath and tilted her head to the side, her antennae giving a little twitch in the process. "Where have you tried already, or at least, from what you can remember? If we have a starting point then we'll know which direction to head in," she finished and with that, waited expectantly for him to provide some sort of direction.

Had they been human, or in another world where such things were the norm, it would have been an acceptable vision to see Kildegard stretched out on an oddly shaped sofa while Meii sat in a chair wearing a round pair of glasses and taking detailed notes. As it was, the enthusiasm and the questions were still present, just delivered with fewer props.

"Hrm...good question. Can we just note this one as 'unknown'? I haven't really kept a record." This was at least mostly true. Since he tended to space out along the way a lot, he didn't know where he'd been even when he wasn't trying to break the aforementioned spacing out habit. "I don't know where I am now, let alone where I've been before. Side effect of the whole issue." He shrugged, giving the mare a sheepish smile. "I think that we might have to start from square one in the 'where' department. Though if it's any help, I do know that trying to focus my attention made it worse, and that there's nothing strange in my diet that could reasonably be triggering it."

He wasn't a mushroom person, after all! "But beyond that, I don't have a really good idea of what I've tried. There are occasions where I think I've tried something, only to realize that I was actually only thinking about doing said thing and have mentally walked myself through what I believe the end results will be. It makes things very confusing, let me tell you!" Probably like trying to follow his statements. On the positive side, he was focused for the moment, but his statements were about as clear as mud! "Sorry, this probably isn't very helpful for you."
