Raziel sat in a chair towards the center of the classroom, watching as the other students came in. He was very curious about shadows and how to control them. When the professor began to speak, Raziel straightened in his seat and tried to pay attention. At first, Raziel was alarmed by being told that he had to eat some strange candy and just deal with it. But after watching the young witch take one and not explode.

When the witch came by with the candies, Raziel gingerly plucked three out of the bin and studied them for a moment before popping one into his mouth. For a moment, nothing happened, then the change came. With it, Raziel's pupils contracted to where you couldn't tell that he had pupils at all. With all of the hairs on the back of his neck prickling, Raziel looked down at his own shadow and watched it for a moment.

After a minute or so, Raziel was finally able to snap out of his stupor and gave a shot at controlling the writhing black mass beneath him. Raziel began simple, trying to coordinate his shadow into a simple circle, then move it around a little bit, then a harder shape; a star. It took a few tries to get a recognizable star, but Raziel's progress was noticeable. As his own shadow began to fade back to normal, Raziel glanced up to see what others were doing with their shadows.

It was so weird seeing the shadow rushing away from her and it was really sad that Alcie couldn't seem to figure out how to control it. Professor Shox said that controlling your shadow was a matter of the mind and Alcie attempted to focus her thoughts on the shadow trying to get it to do what she wanted. After prodding Mai's shadow, Alcie's shadow... curtsied towards Lizzy's shadow as it came closer. She couldn't help but chuckle as she saw Lizzy's shadow and she responded, "Oh it's alright. Everybody seems to be having a difficult time controlling them."

Alcie's shadow was just as adventurous as she was; it ran across the ceiling and across the walls trying to disorient other students. She did her best to keep her eyes and focus on it trying to pull it back to the position that she was currently in.

Looking over at Raziel, she couldn't help but notice that he was able to bend his shadow into the shape of a star? How come his shadow wasn't rushing about the classroom and causing mischief? As his shadow changed back to its normal shape, Alcie couldn't help but smile and compliment him, "That was pretty cool."

"Um....estas bien, mi amiga?"

Chuppi wasn't talking to anyone in particular, at least. . . none of the students. Her words were instead directed towards her shadow which had sperated only recently from her body and moved into a corner by itself. The separation had been odd and Chuppi did her best not to panic when the writhing mass beneath her actually split, though she couldn't help but raise her thermos to her mouth in an almost baleful manner as the shadow peeled from beneath her and took a stance of its own.

It was odd to see a figure shaped just the same as she was (Chuppi was a bit disappointed to see that she was chubbier than she thought!) and it was even stranger to see it not mimicking the same motions. Perhaps it was because it did not have a Thermos of its own? Could a shadow even drink blood? Chuppi's mind was full of odd questions as she continued to sip away and, after blinking a bit, she was shocked to see that her shadow was no longer in front of her. A drop of ice trickled down the nerves in Chuppi's back, causing the monsters quills to stand sharply straight up and out, and the little chupacabra started to fret as she looked around. For someone as small as she was her shadow was certainly no larger, and the monster got up from her chair and started to search.

She'd found her shadow away from all the others and in a corner of sorts, squatting down with its head against its knees and in its arms. The poor thing looked downright pathetic! Why wasn't it being mischievous like the others?

"Please don't cry. I'm right here. Yo estoy aqui."

Reaching out to pat the shadow didn't seem like a good idea, nor did Chuppi know if it were actually possible. Instead she simply stayed at Shadow!Temes's side, watching.

With a huff and a puff, Valentino walked into class late. Once again he had been occupied with deep thoughts, important ones too. (only he could have found conversing with the dumbwaiter engrossing) Taking a seat near the back, he tried to duck as shadows were doing things that no shadow should do. Looking at the empty wrappers lying around, Valentino took three of the candies from Emily and chewed on the first one. Valentino couldn't really taste anything, as his taste-buds had stopped worked a century ago.

He waited and waited after he had swallowed the candy, nothing seemed to be happening at first for him. He was just sitting there, and so was his shadow. When Valentino lifted his arm, the shadow did that same. Taking a sigh he continued to look as nothing continued to happen. Looking at the other shadows and students Valentino turned to his shadow, looking right back at him, and asked"Why are you still here? Why won't you do anything?"

The shadow continued to look back at Valentino, quietly doing nothing. Then as Valentino was about to give up on the class, the shadow gave a shrug. Valentino, wide eyed, looked on with disbelief, the shadow had moved on its own! It wasn't much, but it was a start.

Daisuke hadn't moved from his seat, just watching as his shadow uncontrollably was prancing around the room like a lunatic. Was. . . That a star jump!? Why was it doing athletics? This was so embarrassing and why was it rolling across the ground now!? Whilst everyone's was being even more social than usual his was just content with it's freedom. He wondered if it secretly, or if he secretly wanted to do activities like that as such. He shook his head. Never.

With a sigh, he looked to the side catching the gryphon's wave . She was sat with someone else. Damn lucky, but he had noticed him before in his other classes. He waved back with a small smile and mouthed hello, since she probably wouldn't of heard him anyway from all the commotion. His shadow now looked like it was wanting to join in with their shadows from jumping over them, following them in their chase. He had to stop it! It was out of control.

He tried, tried to focus the best he could but all his shadow was saying was 'jack off' by the looks of things, watching as it performed sticking its tongue out at him pose.

"Damn you, Dai shadow."
He sighed, face palming.

Smiling softly, Jack felt better knowing that she was feeling a little better straight from the get go after a worried glance broke her concentration on the little bit of evil at the front of the class. Finally breaking the silence, he murmured a soft "That's good," to her, before cracking a smile again, and peering down at his own shadow, the lime green portion of his tail flicking up and down as he watched it.

It wasn't until Shehk's shadow came after it, that Jack's really took to flitting around. At the sudden BARKBARKBARK movement that her shadow took to, Jack's snapped to attention, and if it had any fur, it would be standing on edge at first, the desire to play catching up with his feral half, hunched over as if it to take on the chase - the idea of a good flight if she should ever chase. This amused the Nekogami to no ends, his own eyebrows raised as he felt the glance of his own shadow peer at him again. "Er. . ." he stated, as he inspected the shadow, wondering if it was expecting him to talk, "Let'er fly?" He could only answer, as if giving the feline-shadow the okay. It was eerie, how behaved his shadow was, in comparison to some others.

The sheer amount of canine-to-feline shadows did put him off just a bit. Catching sight of the familiar Paperghost, he gave her a silent wave of his hand, a quiet hello.

OH THE GLEE OF IT ALL. The shadow's tail wagged at hyperdrive when it seemed play was a go, bounding off after Jack's shadow (though with no obvious speed. It was more about the playing gesture than anything else). Shehk was sure the only thing that would really get the wolf-shape deterred from playing with the cat-shadow was if a well-timed squirrel ran by.

The second she even thought about a squirrel, however, her shadow seemed to screech to a halt, looking over to her and Jack expectantly.

"h-Hey! I don't have one!" she protested, ears flattening back again. This seemed to disappoint it, but her shadow went on to continue it's playing. Ha ha. There was a moment when she seemed to finally realize that the dude she was chilling by seemed to have some cat-affinity.... perhaps it was because it was the first time she could really get a look at him.

Yeah. Cat-monster-demon-thing. She wasn't sure exactly which, but she did reach over to offer a pet to one of the cats he had with him.

Not to say part of her hadn't been tempted to go 'BARKBARKBARK' herself. She was a canine at her core, afterall.

"I'm Shehk." She finally offered to Jack with a light smile (though there was some strain to it, as though she were expecting Hellma to fly out of nowhere and screech at her for trying to make a COMRADE IN THE CLASS. GASP. Then again, her Shadow probably would have immediately fallen in love with anybody who gave ear-scratches.

Ear scratches and squirrels, all that was required to buy it's love.

Julian tilted his head in thought as he focused his attention on the shadows, not just his own and Tahki's, but everyone's. They seemed to all be acting quite uncontrollable, but for a select few who were hiding or simply not moving.

"When you look at it... M-maybe the shadows are m-manifestations of what we try to b-bottle up? I know I h-haven't played t-tag in years, I'm n-not much for physical activity," he pondered, going back to studying his own shadow. It had paused in its flight around the classroom to... Well, Julian couldn't tell because for the most part it was just a black shape on the wall, but he had the distinct feeling that it was starting at him. So he started back, a small frown on his features.

The shadow broke the stalemate with a shrug and returned to its game of tag.

"Maybe, but I think it m-might get better once we have a better idea of h-how to control them," he replied, giving Tahki one of his small, shy smiles. She mentioned homework and he shuddered, making a small face.

"I can't imagine what homework will b-be like... It's a little d-daunting."

Lizzy-shadow stopped giggling when it was addressed and curtsied back, holding out a hand towards the other shadow. While it had no features, Lizzy couldn't help but imagine a smile on the shadow's face when the hand was offered; it was almost like... Telepathy, except not really... She could sense its feelings in a way, and she knows whenever it turned to look at her, but there was no way to know if its just a one-way connection right?

If its similar to telepathy though, could that be a clue to get the shadow to obey her? Also, she was amused at how similar the shadows' personalities (if they have one) are when compared to their owners'...

"Lizzy-shadow, you are not to run around again without my permission!" Lizzy huffed disapprovingly, hands on her hips as she pouted, looking at her shadow. For a second, the shadow seemed upset, hanging its head like a puppy that had been reprimanded by its owner. Lizzy looked taken aback, and softened slightly, "O-oh, come on now... I just wish you would listen!"

The moment those words left her mouth, the Lizzy-shadow perked up again, moving to stay closer to Alcie's shadow with one outstretched hand.

As though reacting to all the chaos within the room, Shadow!Tybalt, for whatever reason, decided to dash off into the frenzy. Jaws gaping in a vicious grin as it loped along through the crowd; searching--or rather, hunting something?

"Ooooh! Wait come back!" Tybalt called. But like he expected, got no reply. Maybe he was supposed to go after it? Everyone else seemed to be chasing after their shadows--or was he supposed to let it do it's own thing? Wait! He wouldn't get in trouble for letting his shadow run rampant would he? Oh Shi--! He didn't want to sit in the princess corner and he sure as hell didn't want to go back to that other bathroom!

With a surge of sheer panic, the black dog jumped out of his seat and ran after his shadow.

It couldn't have gone far! It was only a classroom after all!

"........"

Who was he kidding! Small classroom, yeah. But packed full of students and their own shadows! How in Jack's name was he supposed to find one shadow in a sea of them!?

As if summoned by his thoughts, he spotted it; running in circles around the Chupacabra.

"Chuppi! Don't let that shadow get away!" He yelled, slipping past other students as quickly as he could manage. Unfortunately, as though to mock him, the shadow hesitated just until he was barely two feet away before it took off again.

"JACK DAMN YOU!" He snarled and continued his pursuit. This time it seemed interested in some winged shadow--wait? Was that that sirens shadow? No wonder it was after it wouldn't stop. It was bird like after all. He only hoped that Shadow!Israfel couldn't produce that same god awful sound that the real one could.

Chuppi seemed to be getting through to her shadow, the black mass didn't look like it was crying anymore, and she was about to return to her seat when a voice called out her name with a request. She looked up just in time to see Tybalt's shadow circling around her and hers and her ears rang with the request. If he wanted her to help she would be mire than glad to though the shadow slipped away from her grasp as Tybalt drew near. With an exasperated such the chupacabra turned to her friend and opened her mouth to apologize.

"Sorry I could not- "

Chuppi's sentence was cut short the moment her shadow actually showed some form of response. It got to its feet with a single motion and was soon after the black dog shadow without a second thought. A well timed jump landed the small monster shadow oh top of the other one, a string grip keeping it in place. The little shadow did not hiss or shriek or do anything, her hands just on his back, and Chuppi felt her face blush bright green when she realized what her shadow was doing.

It was...hugging Tybalt's shadow with no intention of letting go. Oh no!

Even with his hand raised, Israfel hadn't removed his eyes from his shadow, it was fine where it was, out of the way, looking like it was cleaning it's wings. Then, Israfel!Shadow puffed out like a pastry. Wings open and doing it's best to look bigger then it was. The sudden change was-

Israfel wasn't sure what he was seeing. It looked like his shadow was making an attempt to say that the dog had invaded it's space, but the dog shadow was being held. By...Chuppi's shadow? His own shadow hopped down from its newly claimed nest to inspect the invaders. Hopping and head bobbing, wings spread. It edged close to the shadow of the ghost hound. Israfel hoped, dearly hoped, that Chuppi's shadow wouldn't let go.

After a small inspection from Israfel!Shadow, it's feathers and wings were folded back in, judging no longer. It just 'flew' back to it's old spot, almost as if to say that the other shadow wasn't a threat. It was still eying the ghost hound's shadow. Maybe not a threat now, but, even the siren shadow wasn't about to take any chances.

Davinica was an ungainly mass of fur and long legs, slung awkwardly atop her chair in Hellma's classroom. The Headmistress - er, Professor Shox's? - class was one that the Garou girl had been the most adamant about attending. The other, she'd missed; Davi preferred not to remind herself or speak of that (but she would certainly be sitting outside the Stealth 101 room door from now on). Here, she watched Prof. Shox from the corner of her eyes (because making direct eye contact would anger the beast, ohgod), ears flicked back and flinching whenever she shrieked. Several classmates around her were doing the same: Davi noticed one of her track coaches looking positively petrified.

She wished she could share the other student's trepidation. Sure, the room was intimidating and she wouldn't want to be anywhere near Hellma outside of this very room, but the subject! A smile actually flicked onto Davi's face when the Tester Reaper's shadow separated from her body, only widening when the same Reaper began passing out candies to all of them. Davinica took three and wiggled with anticipation. Who cared about the warnings when the results were worth it? Shadows! Shadows were a thing she understood, a thing she adored - she could be good at. Heck, she spent so much time in them that this would be a breeze.

So thinking, the wolf peeled the wrapper off of and downed her candy. It was a little weird to taste - weird because it tasted like nothing, and yet she was acutely aware of it sliding down her throat. Davi was also aware of the feeling that her tongue was twisting in on itself, making her shut her eyes tight in disbelief. Her normally flushed temperature deserted her. Hackles shivered and fuzzed out, standing unrelentingly on end and somehow pushing the loup-garou to pant unnecessarily. It wasn't at all hot in the room, and she would never do such a thing in public!

Davi's eyes popped open. She was standing (still panting, too! shut that mouth) near her table. The wrapper of the shadow-candy still crinkled in her hand. Davinica looked down at her paws, expecting but still jolted when she saw her shadow's toes pull out from under her own, edging their way back onto the table. The shape - er, her shape - was a little fuzzier, flashing what looked like tendrils and teeth and blades and Jack-knows-what. It was still her, though: still her, as the shadow appeared to cross one leg over another on the table and c**k one ear in Davi's direction. The Garou was stunned.

"Uh. Hey, gorgeous." She offered it weakly, sarcasm over each word.

Shadow!Davi's ear quirked back the other way, fingers lifting in a flirty wave that made Davinica's ears stand up. She stood, almost lazily - stretched her arms over her head in a bend that made her hips look a little too ladylike - before flicking her tail thoughtfully and wending over to the shadows of other students that filled the room. And she didn't just walk - she sashayed. Her shadow sashayed. With not a lick of snark in it.

Davi looked on, temporarily motionless in horror. She thought that her shadow would be like her, at least a little, in some kind of communion but she wasn't and oh Great Jack, what had she done?

Kasumi pondered her predicament with admirable force. Her shadow was doing everything in its power to disobey her, despite her very persistent attempts at controlling it. The Headmistress, she would be so disappointed! Though she's probably used to being disappointed with the vast majority of students - statistics don't lie, and neither do averages. Tilting her head, Kasumi decided to try the strategy of ignoring her shadow. Perhaps they needed to be bargained with or perhaps threatened? Either way, Kasumi played the part of a scientist - changing what she was doing every so often to see what stuck and what didn't. All things she thought of resulted in the shadow becoming bored and wandering off somewhere to converse with another shadow.

"Excuse me, you! Get back here!" she demanded of her shadow, muttering obscenities at it while the ghost stomped to her shadow's latest location. Would Miss Hellma Shox be willing to help answer questions? Or would this be more of a sink-or-swim kind of exercise? If that was the case, Kasumi was a fish! She would swim like her unlife depended upon it! However, the rules of the game weren't really explained, and Kasumi had a great deal of questions.

Slowly, she raised her hand in question. While waving back and forth on her feet to keep from running into the other students, the ghost watched her shadow out of the corner of her eye. Maybe the ignoring strategy would eventually work, like it does on cats?

"Somehow I get the feeling our shadows have other ideas besides simply being 'our friends' I think most of them are enjoying a chance to get out and do what ever it is a shadow could want to do." She had moved across the room a bit standing beside Thackery who looked rather gloomy at the given moment.

"On the bright side, your shadow at least looks to be having fun mine on the- hey wait where did it go?" Her brows creased and her lip puffed out in a slight pout. One minute it was just sitting around being dull as dirt after scaring the creep out of her, and now it was simply missing? "I'm starting to think I'm not cut out for this stuff... zombies aren't meant for magic."

However if Samantha was paying closer attention she would have realized where her shadow was. For what ever reason, the anti-something-shadow-thing-Samantha had wandered over to Chuppi's corner and was standing arms crossed head tilted inspecting both the girl and her shadow as if trying to solve a puzzle without saying a word, even holding out a hand to the other shadow at one point making a coaxing motion.

Well both of them had one thing in common, they were at least open to talking to new people? Or rather one was, and the other just stood around not saying anything while making gestures with it's hands?
