Children? She canted her head at the question, a comical look considered her eyes were still closed. She took a moment to wonder what he was really asking. That was a question that could be interpreted in many different ways, and while she was quite innocent, she wasn't so innocent that she was blind to such possibilities. Still though, she chose to take the most innocent meaning. Shalar couldn't possibly be hinting he'd like her to bear his children. They had just met, after all!
"I love children," she said with a genuine smile and a soft laugh. "They're so energetic and full of life... I don't understand how someone could not like children!" She'd heard of people who disliked children, but had never had met one. In her mind she pictured them as the most horrible of people. After all, only a horrible person could dislike children. As she thought about this, it occurred to her that maybe Shalar didn't like children! But that couldn't be, he was wonderful! She had to quickly ask him of his opinion.
"Do you like children?"

Shalar was still enjoying their little game, still blown away by the absolute trust she had in him. Stunned even. He didn't believe he was worthy of such a reaction.
Yet as she spoke he found himself smiling, not so much at the words but just at the sound, the laughter and the smile, and part of him wanted to promise that he would do everything in his power to see that smile again, to hear that delightful sound at every opportunity.... to see Denika happy. As she asked a question of her own however Shalar frowned, thankful she couldn't see. It wasn't that he didn't like children..... he just didn't like the thought of becoming overwhelmed by them; two sisters was enough.
"Yeah I suppose so..... I just wish my parents would consider waiting until I wasn't there to try for more." He knew he sounded selfish. Knew he sounded like a child.... but he couldn't bring himself to lie to her, couldn't even consider the thought, and so he didn't try. "You are right about them being energetic.... especially if they are anything like my sisters." He smiled at that, he loved his sisters dearly, would do anything for them -which was why he wore his hair in this fashion, they hoped it would help him find a mate, making him pretty so that pretty mares would give him their attention. That made his smile widened, had it worked with Denika? He supposed he would owe them an apology when they saw each other again.
