editing, typing out of speech bubbles
umm...panels. and that, and i think shading/colouring

Ok. I love that idea.
plot writing needs to definitely be a collaborative work so the peopel who are actually draw it know that what they're drawing and if they can pull it off.
I ESPECIALLY love that each artist focuses on only one aspect- that will give each one a uniform appearance- instead of everyone trying to draw a character in the same way.
I think costume and character design would go into the planning stage.
So we could have three definite stages.
PLANNING
Writing the plot, character design, setting design etc.
PRODUCTION
All of that drawing stuff. The people who do this part need to work extremely close to each other so the pictures all mesh and the dialogue follows the storyline etc. Will need to make sure all are using the same size pictures (On the com) and are saving in the same EASILY LAYERABLE(sp?) format
POST PRODUCTION
Checking everything over for errors etc.

Ah yes... RECRUITMENT
So we'll stick this in the newsletter when it comes out and put a link in it to tell people to come here and post if they're interested?
Ok in the
PRE-PRODUCTION (formerly known as PLANNING)
Needed
-Storyline/plot -Character profiles -Character design -Setting design -Page Layout (setting out of panals) -Storyline and dialogue plan on a page by page basis
Anything else?

*counts*
so, we'll have one or two people for plot/story. two's better in case someone gets stuck.
a couple for setting
umm..how many for character designs, etc?
and then someone to page layout.

One person for character design. Why? Because that one person is going to be drawing those characters for the whole doujin so the style remains consistant.
Theatre script writing would be good for the plot- and is probably going to have to be rewritten hundreds of times so everyone is comfortable with it. It's going to be frustrating. I volunteer for that!
So we have one person for each aspect of designing the drawings etc. So scenery, characters... um... that's about it. Chracters would also get props thrown in to their drawing lot. Secnery could probably be a few people so the background could be v. pretty and detailed. Colouring would definitely have to be talked about by all participants

true.
script writing is easier anyway, it annoys me thoroughly though. Getting the lines in and then adding actions, but easy to draw from. its how i saw this manga im reading done. the girl writes the story and then there's one artist. *thinks* maybe we should have like a couple of people drawing a couple of different stories. it would make a bigger end product and then everyone would ind something they could do. i've read many doujinshi's that are like that.
i love drawing costumes and that but get frustrated with drawing bodies, but i've been practising. ^^ anyhoo
im going to stay out of the running till everyone has their say.
personally, i hate coloured comics, unless it's just like the title pages and cover.

I know what you mean about coloured comics... it's just not.... manga if it's coloured. It reminds me of a garfield comic. If you're going to go all out and produce a doujinshi make it seem authentic..ish
So you're saying like short stories?
Congrats on your practicing.

I don't mind the first couple of pages coloured, just so that you can imagine the character's hair colour, etc, like in my NGE manga, but black and white is so much easier to read.
Yer, it would be better than one huge story. They'd each be like little episodes or chapters if you will. So we'd have like teams within the team. Maybe this is more of KHFG Doujinshi Circle/Group.
yes i can draw legs....and zaft uniforms...*sigh* back to practising.

Righteo! We'll plan production when we actually know who's participating and in which stories...
Are we going to have awesome manga specific names for each chapter/new story?
