Nappa had been sleeping peacefully in the lobby (too lazy to trek into his own bedroom) when he heard voices shouting at him. It took his brain a minute to realize it was not many voices, but just one, and that voice sounded slightly irritated. Blinking, he sat up, licked the fallen drool off his chin and paid attention - as best as he could in this post dreaming state.

"A room?" he asked dumbly, "The finest you say?"

And then reality came crashing down around him and one could practically see the dollar signs floating across his brain.

"Yes! Forgive me, I do have a room available, the best in the hotel. No need to go...anywhere else," he said with a slight scowl (he wasn't foolish enough to pick a fight in which he would no doubt lose).

"The best room is 250 stones, with a fine room kitty to serve you. If you follow me," he said, and without a moment's hesitation headed up the staircase.

Pulling a rather disgusted face, one dainty eyebrow raising in distaste at the slobbering fat oaf he had walked in on, Serpent'eer started to regret his decision of coming to this place. Hearing that the room was 250 stones, his maw opened slightly in shock, looking at the dilapidated place and eventually sneering at the fat Hound.

"250 you say? By the fur of Anubis, I would hope that it is spotlessly clean you stone-napping fiend! Lead on, I expect perfection if I am to give you any stone at all!" Malice dripped from the words spoken by the serpent decked Hound, and he followed up behind the stinking creature that was supposed to be of the same breed as he. "Until I see this room and suffice it fit for my habitation, I will not be handing over a single pebble, sir! I hope you are aware of that!" The stairs were rickety and creaked, and once or twice, Serpen'teer feared for his very life.

"Does this mud pit of a home bring you much income, sir? These walls must not have seen a lick of paint since they were first raised from this spot of sand decades ago! Anubis' snarl!" The axanthic Hound halted his steps as a great peeling of paint and clay folded down from the wall, and he picked at it mercilessly, taking a great flat layer of wall off with his paw, before looking at the other with shock. "What did you say your name was, Hound? I may feel sorry enough for you to pay in full by the seems of it. And a slave kitty you say, for personal waiting? I will be shocked to see any such beast still alive in this place! You treat them well, I hope?" The Hound thought to his own business and its requirement for slaves at this time, and wondered what treat he may find himself in the company of.

Nappa, who was no stranger to verbal abuse thanks to his dear old parents, let the words roll off his back like the embrace of warm water, though he seldom used that. It was true the hotel needed a lot of work in terms of service and repair. The cats did as best as they could, but aside from the rooms, the interior of the hotel, and especially the stairs, required Nappa himself to either hire someone or replace them altogether.

"Nappa," he said simply, as he led the other on the makeshift tour, "They are treated well enough," he said, and did not bother to commentate further as they went in fear of more harassment.

The rooms themselves were in much better shape, and though they certainly left a lot to be desired, each room boasted that it was better then the last, until they reached the third floor and the last room. The room here had a lot of work put into it, and though it wasn't something like you might find in Cairo, for the slums of Zanzibar, it was like stepping into another world entirely. A sleek black cat padded up to the door and stoically waited.

"The room is 250 stones, if you are still interested," he said with a curt bow of his head, "Meal in the morning, there are sheets, and towels...if you desire a warm bath. And, of course Lilia here will see to whatever need you have."

Following behind the Hound, Serpen'teer looked through partially opened doors, seeing the rooms within, and the slaves that waited on the rooms. He was a little shocked to see that many of the kitties were, in fact, in pretty good condition, and were very easy on the eye. Clearly a Hound after his own heart, at least in terms of slave, and not personal hygiene, Serpen'teer was impressed.

"Very well, Nappa. You shall get your 250 stones upon my leaving tomorrow mid-morn. This room seems to be the best I shall be getting for my stones, and you certainly provide a nice slave." His eyes fell on the sleek creature, and bared a sly grin to her, before bowing his head in greeting. "What do you do for entertainment around here, Nappa, eh? Anything an ex-Zanzibarian would recognise as sport?" He grinned at the Hound. He knew this type well enough, his parents hadn't been much better with their illicit game nights and home-brew that could strip the flesh from your throat. Serpen'teer waved the slave away, clear in his message she should occupy herself within, getting the room ready for his stay.

"Come Nappa, speak with me as a Hound with something to prove here. Look at me, I got out of this hell hole of a city, thanks to Anubis himself! I know a sly one when I see one. Spill, I won't go a'telling. How do you think I lost this eye, eh?" He grinned, and leant against the door jamb, appalled by this Hound, but marginally impressed by his stoic, unconcerned attitude towards those that would insult him, his intelligence, and his business. He had gained respect from the Serpent decorated Hound, just in being able to keep his cool. Serpen'teer was not an unfair creature, for all his other quirks and traits. Cruel and harsh, but never unfair.
