Lilah jumped up and grinned up at Maggie, who sighed. She wasn't sure if or how to go about punishing her. She DID run off after all...but it's not like Maggie would have known the difference, if Donovan hadn't come along. She shook her head.
"Well?" she asked. Lilah looked a little confused. She wasn't exactly sure what to say.
"I...won't do ...it again?" She didn't quite know what she wouldn't do again...she'd have to figure that one out. It was good enough for Maggie, who held out her hand for Lilah to take.
The little girl waved. "Bye Vance! It was nice to meet you, Mr. Vance-Daddy!"

Vance ran to his dad, who scooped the boy up. Donovan wasn't taking any chances with this little runaway. He would stay in Daddy's arms today. Vance didn't mind. He snuggled his dad with a lot of affection. Maybe he knew he'd been bad?
"Bye bye, Lilah!" He said with a smile. Donovan smiled at Maggie, nodding a bit. "Have a fun day. See yeah, babe."
Donovan looked around the bookstore, helping Vance pick out a book before leaving the mall for the day.
