Well... I guess I should make an update in this thing. A lot has happened.

Under certain... circumstances Lidiya, Mark, and their little fae Liten are now staying with me. Or at least until they get their own home. Rabid is very unhappy about this, as they are encroching in her territory... but I can't really blame her. Having to put up with Lidiya more then 12 hours a day runs on one's nerves.

Not shortly after that my father... punished me in a way. I had to take leave for two weeks. And when I came back I had all my limbs removed, another punishment. Thankfully I regenerated them back within a week, though it left me horribly week and I had to once again do the unthinkable.

I now must take Lidiya back to Earth so she can retrieve her belongings, so she can get herself a house in Gaia. It seems she's chosen to live here and never return to Earth, for which I can't blame her. Earth is such a horrible place compared to here. Not to mention how welcomed vampires are in this place.

I'm just glad that Katrina is happy. I don't think she likes Lidiya that much but she doesn't hate her either. I think it's because she emphasizes that she grow up, when I do the opposite. It's very different for her, and she doesn't like it. Mark however, she couldn't be happier with. It could be because he's male, or that he's too lazy to really keep her from doing anything bad... but, oh well.

It seems things are slowly returning to normal around here. Let's just hope it lasts for longer then it has previous.

Fraidy Cats

Quote:
"The same goes for Mark, doesn't it? Save for sunlight." Kitara walked around the table and started upstairs.

Quote:
"Yes, but on a much more sensitive scale. Alcohol and othe mind-altering substances do it aswell." Mark frowned at her. Lidiya watched as Kitara headed upstairs. "'Trina awake?" she asked, preparing to stand up herself.

Quote:
"Yes." The hellspawn said as she helped her daughter out of her, now big-kid, bed. She then helped her downstairs. "Well, he could always stop drinking... or I could try and destroy the thing myself. Or seal it away. Gotta go potty?" "Uh-huh." Katrina nodded while rubbing her eyes, quickly ushered into the bathroom so her mother could help her go on the potty-trainer.

Quote:
"I've tried that. I even ate it with my arms." The Vampiress said. She stood, sliding her coat off her shoulders to reveal her usual attire - or atleast what had become her usual attire on Gaia. She headed up the stairs, heels clicking on the steps. She had a present for the little pup - after breakfast ofcourse.

Quote:
"I'll think of something." She said from behind the bathroom door. They spent more time then usual in there, since it was still a new thing for the puppy to just sit and go potty instead of going whenever she had to. Though after awhile there was the sound of them finishing up and washing their hands, much to Katrina's distaste, before they walked out of the bathroom and into the kitchen.

Quote:
By the time Kitara and the pup made it back to the Kitchen, Lidiya was sat there again, her hat on the table infront of her and pinned down to in under her elbows. She'd put Katrina's present underneath it, ofcourse. The Vampiress smiled at the little pup as she walked in. "Goot morning, devochka" She said. She seemed to be mixing her languages more often lately.

Quote:
"Morninnn'..." The toddler grumbled before climbing onto the chair that had her booster seat. Apparently Kitara had spent a lot of her time shopping for more updated things ever since she had healed and gotten back from her little "punishment". Once Katrina was seated, her chair was pushed in with a gloved hand before the catgirl went over to the fridge. "What do you want for breakfast?" "Sausamages." The canine grinned sleepily with a wag of her tail. "And milk."

Quote:
Lidiya smiled, looking across the table at the pup. "How are you today, little one?" she spoke sweetly.

Quote:
"Sleepy." Katrina answered obviously as she rubbed at her eyes with her padded hands, Kitara meandering about and getting her breakfast ready.

Quote:
"Join the club." Mark said, stretching. He sat his empty mug on the table infront of him and slumped back, yawning. Lidiya smiled at him, and then back at the pup. "I have your present with me." she grinned, her pearly white fangs shining.

Quote:
"Persent?" The anthro blinked, her floppy ears perking.

Quote:
"Yeah, I said I'd bring you back a present from where I come from, didn't I?" The Vampiress nodded. She glanced briefly at Kitara, watching her prepare Katrina's food.

Quote:
"Yah..." Katrina watched her, though didn't seem very excited. She never got excited over such things as much as normal little children would. The necromancer was flipping a sausage patty in a pan over the stove with a practiced hand.

Quote:
The Vampiress looked at her for a moment, then lifted her hat to reveal a small, fluffy object object beneath it. It was a little Ushanka hat - clearly old, but in in good condition. "I know you like these hats." she said pushing it across the table to her.

Quote:
The mutt blinked before letting out a squee of delight. Taking the hat, she proudly put it on her head and twisted it around until the emblem was in the center. "Tankyoutankyoutankyoutankyou!" Her tail wagged a mile a minute and she reached for Lidiya, wanting a hug.

Quote:
The Vampiress gave a huge grin. She thought the pup would like such a gift. She got out of her seat and bounced around to Katrina side to give her a hug. Mark just snorted a giggle.

Quote:
Katrina licked the side of the vampiress face and hugged her back, still bouncing around in her seat. Awww, she was gonna show her pretty new hat to everyone in the park! And Akilah and Jacosa too! "Tank yoooooooooooooou!" Kitara just smirked, though said nothing.

Quote:
Lidiya grinned back at her, her inhumanly long tongue reaching out to return the lick. "I thought you'd like that." She said, squeezing her fluffy little body.

Quote:
The pup bounced about after the hug was over, straightening her hat and giggling like an idiot. "You better not get that dirty, now." The reaper said as she put the sausage patty on a plate and started to cut it up.

Quote:
The Vampiress nodded. "Yeah, better take it off when you eat." she said, recalling the pup's messy habits.

Quote:
"Awwww..." Katrina frowned, but complied and took it off to hang it behind her on one of the chair's posts. Her breakfast was then set in front of her, along with a glass of milk and a fork.

Quote:
Mark yawned, rising to his feet. He wondered where Kaiser was - and why the smell of sausages hadn't attracted him to the Kitchen... Not that he needed to eat. "Kai in the playroom?" he asked, despite the fact that he could hav just looked through his eyes. Lidiya nodded, then glanced over at the pup. "Do you know Kai?" she asked, wondering if the pup remembered her life as a baby.

Quote:
The toddler paused in her eating. "Uhhh..." She licked her maw with her pink tongue. "He's da big wolf." Her ears drew back slightly, evident that she was still bitter with him... for whatever reason. Kitara sat down next to her daughter, though kept silent.

Quote:
Lidiya nodded, smiling. Mark raised a brow, looking between the two as he wondered what Lidiya was doing now. "You don't like him do you?" she asked.

Quote:
"Don' like doggies. Like kitties." Katrina said between mouthfuls of sausage.

Quote:
Lidiya laughed. "Aren't you a doggie?" She said, smiling. "What's wrong with doggies?" Mark shook his head as he wandered off, heading upstairs.

Quote:
The canine shifted uncomfortably. "... Yah."

Quote:
"He's nice y'know." The Vampiress said. "He'll play with you if you want him to." Upstairs, Mark peeked in through the Playroom door again, where Kaiser lay awake, curled up, but awake.

Quote:
Katrina didn't reply, not wanting to talk about her hatred of canines despite the fact that she was one. Instead she contented herself with finishing her sausage patty. Kasinda lay curled up next to him, still totally out of it. Gareth was still asleep as well, the food given to him long since gone cold and his head still rested next to Hex.

Quote:
"You've not come to drag Kai downstairs have you?" The wolf said quietly. Mark shook his head. "No, but Mistress seems to want you down there." he shrugged. The Wolf sighed. "I heard." he said. Lidiya watched the little pup as she finished her meal. She smiled at her, resting her head in her hands. "You wanna meet him properly?"

Quote:
"Nah-uh." The anthro sipped at her milk after she was done her sausage.

Quote:
Lidiya tutted in disapproval, shaking her head - though she said nothing further on the matter. "Trying to eat without getting messy lately?" She smiled.

Quote:
"Mmhmm." Katrina said passed her drink.

Quote:
"Good." The Vampiress smiled. "Won't need so many baths that way... And you can wear your hat more." she grinned. She looked up at Kitara for a moment, saying nothing for a while. "If I build my own home, where should I build it?" She asked.

Quote:
The demoness took the mutt's plate and put it in the sink before handing her a damp towel to wipe her hands with. She raised a brow at Lidiya. "That's up to you, isn't it?"

Quote:
Lidiya nodded. "Yes, but my real question is how close am I to build to you?" She grinned.

Quote:
Kitara raised a brow as she took the rag from Katrina, still looking oddly at the vampiress. "I thought it'd be too far away from civilization for you all the way out here."

Quote:
Lidiya nodded. "It is, but I still intend to be relatively close-by." she said. Mark came wandering back downstairs, Kaiser padding along beside him. He wandered into the Kitchen, though the Wolf remained at the doorway. "I'm going out." he said.

Quote:
"Alright." The hellspawn looked up at Mark before going back to the vampiress. "Still up to you on how close you want to be to civilization and me." "Bye-byes." The puppy waved to Mark with a smile, putting her ushanka back on.

Quote:
Mark grinned back at Katrina, waving as he did. By Lidiya's orders, he dug into his pocket and relenquished a large handgun, which he placed on the table infront of her with a heavy thud. She didn't permit him to carry it much around here. What exactly determined whether she allowed him or not, he didn't know - but he didn't much care. The Vampiress smiled as he left. "Bye." She looked up at Kitara as Mark and Kaiser walked out. "So, what are you doing today?" she asked, picking the weapon up.

Quote:
Kitara waved to them as well, then shrugged at the vampiress. "Whatever I can think of." Katrina blinked and looked at the gun, staring at it intently. She seemed to zone out, not even noticing the two leave. Though when the door slammed closed she jumped and blinked, looking around as if snapped from a daze... then her brown eyes landed back on the gun. Her tiny paws gripped the edge of the table before she burst into tears, scrambling to get away from the weapon. The catgirl blinked in confusion and darted over to her, lifting her from her seat and carrying her into the living room. "Shhhhh, what's wrong?"

Quote:
Lidiya raised a brow, seeming just as confused as Kitara. She hadn't noticed the pup had been staring at the firearm. She unloaded the weapon, placing the magazine and gun in seperate pockets of her coat as it lay on the back of the chair.

Quote:
"Shhhhhh, shhhhhh..." The necromancer walked around the room, holding the toddler to her chest as she cried. A gloved hand rubbed her back, the other supporting her rear. "It's okay... it's okay..." She kissed one of Katrina's ears, walking back and forth and making soothing and comforting gestures until her sobbing and crying had calmed down somewhat.

Quote:
The redhead walked in. "What wrong?" she asked, looking down at the pup as she approached Kitara.

Quote:
"Did you have a vision? Scary pictures?" Kitara asked her daughter, whom nodded and burried her head in the crook of the reaper's neck. She sighed and glanced up to Lidiya before sitting on the couch. "You wanna play a game? Forget about the nasty things?" She had gone through the same thing with her other adoptive child, Ipo. The canine nodded and sniffled, grabbing at the ear-flaps of her ushanka slightly, as if would drown out the gunshot she had "heard".

Quote:
Lidiya sat down on the sofa. She had a feeling she knew what it was now. She nodded slowly, asif to to show Kitara that she had ascertained the cause of it without making the pup hear her say it.

Quote:
Kitara set Katrina down next to the vampiress, who was reluctant to let go, but settled for clinging to her side instead while her mother opened up an old wooden trunk near the TV. "You wanna play a board game?" Crimson eyes looked back at the anthro, who gave another nod. "Let's play Fraidy Cats then." The demoness smiled and pulled out one of Katrina's favorite board games. "Lidiya will play with us too."

Quote:
"I will, will I?" The Vampiress smiled, sitting up to accept the up. "I guess I shall." She hugged the pup to her soft, slightly thick side. She was good for cuddles.

Quote:
Kitara got out the game and crouched down to set it up in front of the couch. Laying out the board, she set up the fence around it and then grabbed the dice and the four cats on stands to hold them up to Katrina. "Which kitty?" "Black one." "Okay." The hellspawn smiled and hooked it on one of the posts behind the cardboard doghouse. "Lidiya?" She held up the three left, an orange tabby, silver tabby, and a siamese.

Quote:
"Siamese." She smiled. "Nice and expensive." Her smile formed into a grin. She still sat with Katina, hugging her to her side as she petted her head through the soft rabbit fur of the hat.

Quote:
Kitara snorted and hooked it next to the pup's, then hooked the silver tabby for herself. "Okay, you wanna tell Lidiya how to play? I don't think she's ever played Fraidy Cats." Katrina thought for a moment, content to stay by the vampiress... but she wanted to play and couldn't from the highpoint of the sofa. So, she scooched off and sat down on one side of the board.

Quote:
Lidiya smiled, noticing Katrina's reluctance to leave her side - and so she joined her on the floor, sitting on her side with her legs folded. She'd let the little pup to all the clinging she wanted - she liked it.

Quote:
The toddler sniffed and wiped her nose with the back of her hand before taking the die. "Roll 'dis." And so she did. "Count da number..." There was a long pause. "Onnnnnne..." Brown eyes looked over at the necromancer. "One. Two. Three." She said slowly, a clawed finger pointing to each little dot on the die. "Free. Move that many." Grabbing her black kitty, Katrina bounced it slowly over three places and hooked it to the fence post under it. "But if you roll doggie-" She showed Lidiya the little dog sticker on one side. "You gotta push da button and he starts goin'." She hit the button on top of the robotic dog in the center. It started running around the ring, bumping into the sides of the cardboard fence. Every time it got close to her, she would squeal like it would hit her.

Quote:
"I see." The Vampiress nodded, smiling down at Katrina "Okay, that sounds simple enough."

Quote:
"But if it hits yoo-" The canine reached out hesitantly and steered the dog right to her kitty. It smacked into the little stand it sat on, causing it to fly off the post. "You fly off and gotta start over. Gotta go all around da fence first to win." She reached over and grabbed the cat, sticking it back onto the post behind the doghouse, where it was safe. Eventually the dog stopped.

Quote:
"Ah, I get it." The Vampiress grinned. "Are you going first?" she smiled. For those that new her as the sadistic, cruel, and murderous creature she had been on earth, it would have been very odd to see her as she was now. Sat on the floor with a child, smiling and cuddling them as she played games to amuse them. Indeed, it looked odd - especially dressed in her current 'clothing'.

Quote:
"Yah." Tears forgotten for now, Katrina rolled the die and, with her mother's help, counted the dots before moving that far on the fence. "Your turn now." Her tail wagged a little as she handed the cube to Lidiya.

Quote:
Lidiya smiled and rolled the die, watching it bounce and roll before it came to a stop on 3. She pushed the model siamese along 3 spaces, and handed the die to Kitara. The last time she had done anything like this was in the children's hospital in Florida.

Quote:
Kitara took the die with a smile and rolled it, moving her cat five spaces on the fence. "How close do you want Lidiya to move to us?" She asked the anthro while handing her the die. She took it, though looked shocked. "Your not living with us?" Brown eyes looked up at the vampiress.

Quote:
"Not for much longer, no." The Vampiress said. "Why, do you want me to stay?" she asked. Lidiya looked down at the little pup, having not thought the pup would have taken such a liking to her as to be concerned if she left.

Quote:
"Yah." Katrina rolled and after some thought and help, moved six spaces. "Why not?" "Our house isn't big enough for all of us. Besides, auntie gets aggrivated when people she doesn't know well are around, remember?" "Guess so..." "And you might have a brother or sister soon, so it'll be even more crowded. She won't move far. It'll be like she's right here with us." A gloved hand reached over and ruffled the mutt's black and white hair.

Quote:
Lidiya smiled at her as she rolled the die. "I'll make sure it's close enough for you walk to by yourself when you're a little older." she said, tossing the monochrome cube onto the board. Four. She moved her piece accordingly. "Where's the school you're sending her to?" she asked, looking up at Kitara.

Quote:
"Okie." Katrina said, watching the game. "It's in Durem, a private school I've been saving up for. I still need to take her soon to meet the teachers and such though." The reaper rolled the die and moved two spaces.

Quote:
"Well, I hope you're gonna let her do some walking." The Vampiress nodded. "Children need excercise." She smiled down at the pup, watching her take the dice.

Quote:
Kitara raised a brow at the vampiress, giving her a "did you just call Katrina fat" look. Oblivious, the pup rolled the die and moved one space.

Quote:
"Well surely you wont be portalling her there and back every time?" The Vampiress said. She, ofcourse, had walked a fair way to get to school when she was a child - it hadn't really slimmed her atall, but it had certainly made her grow tall and strong. She rolled the die.

Quote:
"I have to most of the way. Durem is about a half an hour drive from here. I'm not gonna make her walk all that way." The demoness said.

Quote:
Lidiya smiled. "Well, I could try and settle down somewhere in the middle of that distance." She smiled. "You could take her to my house and she could walk from there." She looked down at the pup as the dice landed on 2. She moved her piece. No doggie yet, it seemed.

Quote:
"Hm..." Kitara took the cube. "I dunno, the center is Gambino Isle. I don't exactly want her to have to walk through that at all. I would probably drop her off at the entrance of Durem. When she's older." She rolled the dog and made an exaggerated gasping face. "Oooooo!" Katrina's ears perked.

Quote:
"Uh-oh..." The Vampiress said. "Push the button!"

Quote:
The hellspawn sighed and slumped her shoulders before pressing the button, the robotic dog going on a rampage. "Oh nooooooooooes!" The toddler squealed.

Quote:
Lidiya watched the mechanised critter run randomly around the board, the tip of single fang just visible under her upper lip. She hugged the pup in mock terror.

Quote:
"Eeeee!" Katrina watched the dog spin around and around and run into the fence right beside her kitty, but thankfully not on it.

Quote:
"Almost..." Lidiya said, watching the dog charge about chaotically. She glanced up into Kitara's eyes.

Quote:
And then the dog hit Kitara's little plastic feline, sending it flying before stopping. "Nooo!" Tugging on her ears, she grabbed over her heart and stuck out her tongue before flopping over "dead". For once, she actually looked her youthful age. The canine giggled madly and then crawled over to her. Apparently the catgirl did this every time.

Quote:
Lidiya snorted a giggle - She was open to fun and games, as mature and adult as her mind was. She wondered what it must be like for Kitara, to have the body of a child, and, in many ways, the mind of one too.

Quote:
Katrina crawled over to her and plopped down right onto her stomach, peering over her face before looking back at the vampiress. "She's deeeeeeeead." Looking back to the fallen Kitara, she stuck her paws in her mouth and pulled it apart, causing her cat-like tongue to flop out dramatically.

Quote:
"Me too." Lidiya said in self-mockery. She watched Kitara's acting with amusement.

Quote:
"Yer not deeeeeeead." The mutt rolled her eyes, the concept of being immortal lost on her at her current age. Though before she could poke anymore at her mother's corpse, she sprang to life. "RAWR!" The necromancer flailed her arms and spasmed about, catching the squealing Katrina and rolling ontop of her to tickle and blow raspberries on her stomach.

Quote:
Lidiya smirked, realising that Katrina didn't quite understand what a Vampire really was yet. She wondered if she'd learn that sort of thing in school - afterall, learning about Vampires and things in school didn't sound like it would be an odd thing to do in Gaia. She smiled, moving Kitara's piece back to the start for her.

Quote:
After the tickle session, Kitara sat up with her daughter on her lap, arms wrapped around her. "Silly mommy." "Heheeee. I start over though. That's sad. 'Cause I'm gonna loooose." For once her eyes were lit with nothing but childish, innocent joy. "But it's your turn now." She handed the pup the die.

Quote:
"You amuse me, little kitty." The Vampiress smiled - feeling the word 'kitty' was more appropriate 'necromancer' or 'demon' at this moment in time. She grinned at Kitara's innocent little face, crimson eyes meeting.

Quote:
The reaper just smirked and snickered, watching as Katrina rolled. It seemed it was just a race against the vampiress and her now. After moving six places, she giggled and handed Lidiya the cube.

Quote:
"I think you're gonna win." The Vampiress grinned at the pup as she rolled her die. She Moved five places. And handed the die to Kitara - even though she probably wouldn't catch up.

Quote:
Kitara took the die and rolled, getting a one of all things. She scoffed and moved that many before handing it to her daughter.

Quote:
Lidiya laughed. "Oh dear." she grinned.

Quote:
"This game has a vendetta against me, I swear." The demoness pouted as Katrina rolled a three and moved three spaces.

Quote:
Lidiya grinned and took her turn. With a clatter, the dotted cube landed on another five. The Vampiress squealed in childish delight as she bounced with joy... and considerable strain on her corset's front.

Quote:
Only six spaces until the game was over. Kitara grabbed the die and rolled a five, moving that many spaces even though it was futile. The toddler rolled and got a four. Only two more spaces for her! "Eeee!"

Quote:
Lidiya rolled again. She expected to the pup to win, but she would atleast try and catch up. She moved 3 places - five more left!

Quote:
After the hellspawn rolled, Katrina rolled a one and frowned before moving one.

Quote:
"Ooooooh...." Lidiya grinned as she picked up the die, rolling again. She could win! The plastic cube bounced and spun, coming to a stop on three - leaving her siamese one square behind Katrina's piece. "Aww, I'm gonna lose." she sniffed.

Quote:
"Yaaaay!" The canine rolled after Kitara, getting a four and winning the game. "I won!" She clapped her padded hands.

Quote:
The Vampiress smiled. "You're too lucky." she said, grinning. She decided not to mention the fact that she'd used telekenisis to lower the score of her own dice rolls - though she figured Kitara had probably spotted it. She offered the pup another big hug in her lap.

Quote:
The catgirl had, but had said nothing for obvious reasons. Katrina hoped up and paraded around the room, grinning from ear to ear. Smiling, Kitara began to put the game away.

Quote:
The Vampiress pulled herself back up onto the sofa, smiling all the while, happy to have provided Katrina with the little extra joy she needed. She crossed one stocking-covered leg over the other, and leaned back. She seemed to be having quite a good day today.

Quote:
"Is it lunch time?" The necromancer asked Lidiya while she finished putting the game away. "Normally she eats around one."

Quote:
"Near enough." The Vampiress said. "Judging by where the sun is." she said without even looking out of the window - a clear demonstration of her Vampiric conciousness.

Quote:
"Alright." Kitara got up and walked into the kitchen. Meanwhile, the anthro stopped in front of the couch and let out a yawn.

Quote:
"Worn yourself out now?" The Vampiress asked, looking at her over the curve of her raised knee.

Quote:
"Yah. Nap after lunch." Katrina said while climbing onto the sofa next to the vampiress and digging around for the remote. Her show should be coming on soon! "By the way, I signed her up for Russian." The reaper said from the kitchen.

Quote:
Lidiya smiled. "I'm flattered." She said. "...But why?" She looked down over her shoulder at the ushanka-wearing, remote-weilding pup.

Quote:
"Well, she's learning Latin too. I figured it wouldn't hurt to teach her something your fluent in aside from English. Plus, it's good to know more then one language." Kitara said while preparing the mutt's hotdog.

Quote:
Lidiya smiled, looking down at Katrina's fluffy little form. She scooted closer, putting and arm around her to cuddle her against her side. The little pup seemed to like her more than she had thought - the least she could do was return the favour. Perhaps it was just her discipline she disliked... afterall, Lidiya was intimidating enough in the eyes of an adult, let alone a tiny child who barely reached to her thighs. She smiled.

Quote:
As long as her mother was around, Katrina had no reason to fear or hate the vampiress... in her eyes at least. Like she had thought, it was the discipline she disliked. But when her adoptive mother was around, Lidiya just turned into someone like her auntie. After finding her channel, the pup slumped, her maw across the vampiress' lap as she watched TV.

Quote:
Lidiya petted Katrina's head, allowing her to rest on her lap as she watched her show. She listenened to the sounds upstairs - it was past midday and Kitara's pets were still asleep? "Your pets sure are lazy." she said.

Quote:
"Kasinda's always lazy, Gareth barely ever sleeps, and Hex is still just a kit." The demoness said with a snort.

Quote:
"He's gonna kill himself." The Vampiress said, sniffing. "I don't think he even touched the food I made him this morning."

Quote:
"Nope." Kitara sighed. "He's always been like that though."

Quote:
The Vampiress nodded slowly. "What sort of things do they learn about at schools in Gaia?" she asked. She knew there would surely be some major differences.

Quote:
"Uhh... they learn about the different species, three languages including English, math, science, geography..." She trailed off, thinking.

Quote:
Lidiya smiled, grinning down at the little pup. "Ooooh, you get to learn about vampires!" she grinned. She could already picture the day Katrina would come to her asking about her Vampirism.

Quote:
"It's a wonder they don't have a class spesifically about vampires, what with how common they are." The hellspawn finished preparing Katrina's hotdog. "I don't wanna go to school." She grumbled, ears perking at the sound of a plate being set on the table. "Lunchtime!"

Quote:
Lidiya laughed at Katrina's comment. "Well, I'd ram the knowledge into your head, but I don't think Mother would approve." she smirked, patting the pups backside to urge her to get up and eat. "And take your hat off!"

Quote:
The toddler grumbled but complied, removing her hat and setting it by Lidiya before walking into the kitchen and taking a seat at the table to ear her hotdog.

Sunny Days
(Katrina has a playdate with Jacosa at the park)

Lenachan358
Jacosa's tail flicked from side to side as he watched the other children on the playground. He was wearing shorts and a shirt as it was a sunny day and his mother had allowed him to go outside and play a bit on his own. Sadly playing on one's own seemed boring and now his new yellow tennis ball seemed to have vanished into some nearby bushes.

He had been playing tennis against the wall, but since the ball was gone and he wasn't able to find it, the otter had simply decided to climb the wall and watch the others.

Kitara Kata
Like a lot of other families that day, Kitara thought it a beautiful day to take her daughter out to the playground. She walked down one of the paved pathways, one hand holding onto Katrina's and another holding an easel.

The puppy wandered along, paw in her mother's gloved hand. Brown eyes scanned the playground, floppy ears twitching. Her eyesight wasn't the best, but her sense of smell was. She paused and sniffed the air, eyes traveling over to the otter sitting on the wall. She... knew him, didn't she?

Lenachan358
Jacosa watched some people walking alone of the pathways and he had to squint his eyes to look at them more closely. There was a quite famliar figure.

A grin formed on his face as he recognised Katrina. She seemed to see him as well and so he waved slightly with both hands and his tail.

Kitara Kata
She did know him! What was his name again? Ja... Jack? Co... Cody? "Mommy, I know him!" Katrina pointed over to the otter boy.

"Hm?" Crimson eyes traveled from the area ahead of her, to her daughter, then to Jacosa. "Ohhh, yes. That's Jacosa. You wanna go play with him?" After recieving a nod the necromancer crouched down and made sure the toddler was going to be alright on her own for a little before allowing her to waddle her way towards him.

Lenachan358
As the dog girl moved closer towards the wall Jacosa smiled and leaned forward a bit. A motion which would have made every mother tremble. Luckily Andraste wasn't around.

"Hey Katrina !" The otter greeted her and looked down. "Do you want to see my jump ?"

Kitara Kata
"Jump?" Katrina questioned, looking up at the otter boy. "Gonna jump off the wall? Thas high!" She barked nervously and took a step back, wondering if he was really going to do it.

Lenachan358
Jacosa grinned. Alright, he hadn't done it before, but actually...it couldn't be that difficult, right ? Who said that otters weren't able to jump from high places?

"Yes, I'll jump. Take care that I don't hit you." He took a deep breath and looked down. Ok, probably it was a bit high...but now he couldn't go back.

"I'll throw down my tennis racket first." He decided and carefully allowed the racket to drop to the ground.

Kitara Kata
The canine watched him, brow eyes following the tennis racket as it fell to the ground. Head pivoting in a curious manner, she picked it up out of the way and then took a couple of steps back. The last thing she wanted was to be landed on by an otter!

Katrina's clawed hands fiddled with the racket, holding it close as she looked back up at Jacosa. Oh my...

Lenachan358
"Good good, you're doing quite well ! You could be one of the assistants at the tennis court." Jacosa always liked to play the bigger one and so he did now.

Sliding towards the edge of the wall his nerves didn't seem to be so happy anylonger. "One." His paws were clinging to the stone as he estimated the height.

"Two." Again he looked for a soft spot of moss or something, but there was only grass. "Three ! I'm coming !

With that he jumped and hit the ground hardly. His ankles hurt a bit and a bit of the fur on his knee was gone and is stinged slightly, but he was alright. Hiding the pain he grinned at Katrina.

Kitara Kata
"Assistament?" The anthro's ears perked as she watched him jump down, wincing upon landing. Once Jacosa smiled though, she wandered over and held up the racket.

"That was hiiiigh." Katrina stated once more. "You get a boo-boo?" Brown eyes traveled over his form, landing on the patch of bare skin. "Ah!" She pointed a black claw.

Lenachan358
"Assistant is somebody who helps the tennis players. I could show tennis to you if I..." Suddenly a grin spread on Jacosa's face and he patted Katrina's head as he took the racket.

"You know Katrina, I lost this yellow ball somewhere around here. Do you want to help me searching ?" Having seen on TV that dogs wer supposed to be awesome at doing such things he smiled.

As she pointed at his knee he shrugged. "It's ok, don't worry. It will grow again."

Kitara Kata
"Okay..." The mutt's eyes traveled from his skinned knee to his face again. "Yellow ball?" Her ears perked once more. "Okay! By the wall?" She asked.

Lenachan358
Jacosa smiled happily and pointed at some nearby bushes. "I played against the wall and then...BAM !"" His gestures were far more dramatically than the actual scene.

"...the yellow ball vanished inside the bushes !"

Kitara Kata
"Oooooo..." Katrina eyed the bushes and then wandered over to them, getting on all fours as she crawled into them. Yellow ball... yellow ball.

Instinctivly, the pup sniffed at the ground to try and fish out Jacosa's scent on the ball.

Lenachan358
The otter himself tried to help with the tennis racket and parted some bushes carefully. He didn't want to his the girl.

"Wow that's cool, you're really like a dog. Do you eat dog food ?" He asked curiously, probably not aware that it might disturb someone to ask like that.

Kitara Kata
"Dawg food?" Katrina paused from her sniffing and sat up, head poking through the bushes. "Uhhh... I eat hot dawgs." It involved the word 'dog' so it had to be at least related, right?

Then an epiphany.

"Are hot dawgs made outta dogs?!" The toddler's ears perked up and her brown eyes shot open wide.

Lenachan358
"The stuff that is eaten by dogs." The otter tried to explain while staring at a nice brown bug in one of the bushes.

He smirked at her question and then shook his head. "Dogs are bigger. Like you, you're a dog. If then it would only be the tail..." Jacosa watched her tail with caution and then shrugged. "Perhaps they make the sausage out of a dog tail ?

Kitara Kata
Katrina gaped. She'd been eating DOGS?! That was cannibabalism! Right?!

Though before she could really say much more on the subject, the back of her heel hit something and caused it to roll backwards. "Aroo?" Turning around, her head vanished in the bushes once more. A few seconds later she poped back up with a tennis ball in her padded hands.

"Found it!"

Lenachan358
Jacosa didn't have time to recognise Katrina's shocked face as she watched her vanish into the bushes. Anxiously he waited for her to come back and his tail moved swiftly from side to side.

As the otter recognised the tennis ball in her hands he squealed with delight and rushed towards the puppy. "Awesome, awesome, you're so great !" Jacosa didn't think about hiding his joy and picked Katrina up and swirled her around.

Still she was a bit too heavy for him and so he stumbled backwards and they both landed on the meadow nearby the bushes. Jacosa couldn't help but laugh.

Kitara Kata
The canine's tail wagged back and forth as she was praised. Though when he picked her up and swung her about a couple of times, her bright brow eyes shot open in slight shock.

Though it seemed to be over as soon as it started. Both of them landed in the grass, Katrina rolling off to the side of Jacosa. She lay there dazed for a moment until the otter boy started laughing. Blinking a few times, she could do nothing more then join in with her own barking laugh.

Lenachan358
Jacosa held his belly, but stopped after a while watching the clouds above at the bright blue sky. "That was fun. One day I can show you how tennis works and then we can play together, Kat. It's ok to call you Kat, right ?"

His big dark eyes watched her for a moment before he turned back to the clouds. "Look there's a poodle cloud. You're not a poodle, are you ? I'm an otter. Do you see an otter cloud ?"

Kitara Kata
The mutt stopped laughing shortly after Jacosa, though her tail still wagged underneath her as she lay sprawled on her back. Her eyes stared at the clouds as well. She loved taking naps in the warm grass and watching the clouds go by. It was soothing.

"Is okay." Katrina said to the new nickname, smiling. "Tennis fun?" She asked, glancing over at him. She didn't know what the sport was about.

But before she could get an answer for her question, her attention was drawn back to the clouds. "Poodle? Naw... Dunno what kinda dog." Her mother had never mentioned her spesific species, and until now she didn't think to even bother asking.

"Otter?" The pup turned and looked at him up and down. He didn't look that much different from her... save for his ears. She was still having trouble differing species by looks and only went by scent for now. "Otter..." She repeated, watching the clouds again. Maybe she could find an otter shapes cloud for Jacosa.

Lenachan358
"Tennis is great fun. It's played with the yellow ball. When you are bigger you can hold the racket, then I'll show you." Jacosa smiled. He really wanted to show it to all of his friends and from now on Kat definitately was one.

Jacosa didn't answer at first, but then he decided to tell her a bit. "I've got an animal book at home. It says otters are great swimmers. I really like the bathtub. Do you like it too ?

He pointed at a cloud that was bathtub shaped in his opinion.

Kitara Kata
"Okie." Katrina wiggled her feet back and forth, not liking the pink converse she was wearing. Shoes were so uncomfortable.

Though at the mention of the bathtub, she made a face and shook her head rapidly. "Nah-uh. Hate the water." She frowned, though she herself didn't know the reason for that. Yet at least.

Lenachan358
Jacosa was wearing his favourite sneakers and so hadn't any problems with his shoes.

As she mentioned her hate of water though he frowned. He knew that not everyone liked the water, because he had a brother who tended to scream when he had to take a bath, but the otter had been sure that friends always liked the same things. Strange.

"Oh....what do you like then, Kat ?"

Kitara Kata
The toddler chewed on the question as she thought. "I like sleeping... and eating." She grinned in a dog-like fashion. "Like playing ball and board games too." It seemed she was a lot less physical or active as a child her age should have been. That was probably what attributed to her... less the thin figure.

Lenachan358
The otter watched a cloud that looked like a toilet to him pass by and wiggled with his tail. "Sleeping is boring to me. I'm often awake at night too." Although his Mommy actually didn't like that fact.

"Board games ?" Jacosa turned his head towards the puppy. He didn't know such games, Andraste hated to play them and Ranjit was often at work. "How do you play that ?"

Kitara Kata
Katrina often slept rather late in the day and went to bed kind of early. But ah well.

She blinked as Jacosa didn't seem to know what a board game was. The canine raised a brow and say up, looking over and down at him. "Board games! You fold out the board and read instructions to it and then play. Like... Fraidy Cats!" Her tail wagged. That was her favorite game.

Lenachan358
"Fraidy...Cats ??" Curiousity awoke in Jacosa, but at the same time he was sad that it seemed like he was missing a lot of fun. He kicked an ant off his shirt and appeared to think about something.

"Could you show it to me ? Perhaps we could play it at your place some day." It was really interesting that he was able to learn from the toddler. He had thought he was the master of all things, because he was older, but actually he hadn't a clue about board games. The otter made a mental note that he had to ask one of his parents about it.

Kitara Kata
"Yah!" Katrina perked up, the thought of one of her friends coming over to her house was exciting! He could show her all the neat plants outside and they could watch the clouds from between the trees and and...

"Should come over soon! I know mommy will say it's okay. What about you mommy?" She inquired, looking down at him with her tail wagging behind her.

Lenachan358
Jacosa smiled happily and was about to hug the girl once more, but then he was reminded of movies where men hugged women and he somehow didn't like it.

"Cool. I think my Mommy likes if she has some free time. I can call you and then your Mommy can talk to mine and I can come over." That sounded so neat. "Shall I bring my tennis stuff too ?

Kitara Kata
"Yeah! Play tennis too." The mutt's tail continued to wag back and forth behind her as she stood. "Gotta get number, though. Hold ons!" Turning around, she jogged off towards where her caretaker was sitting and painting.

Shortly after she came back panting. It was HOT out, especially with her black fur. She held out a piece of paper with her phone number written on it. "'D'as our number." Katrina then held out another piece and a pen. "Mummy says to write your mommy's down too."

Lenachan358
"Cool !" Jacosa called after her and then twiddled a bit with his tennis racket until she returned quickly.

It was really getting hot, he desired to take a bath. Oh no, now he had to remember the number. They had moved and the number was different now...it was...oh yes !

Gladly he accepted the new piece and the pen and scribbled some numbers onto the paper. They looked a bit shaky, but they were able to be indentified. "Thanks Kat. We go and meet soon then ?" Quickly he stuffed the piece with her phone number into his pockets.

Kitara Kata
"Yah!" The puppy grinned and put his number in her own pocket. "But mommy says it's time to go now. Your mommy call mine so you can come over and play?" She asked.

Lenachan358
Jacosa's ears dropped but he nodded. "Alright, we call you." He smiled happily and patted the puppy's head, before shoving the tennis ball into a pocket of his trousers. "I'll go home then, too. See you soon, Kat." And he vanished quickly, still waving at the dog girl.

(( yaaay finished smile Thanks for the cute rp ))

Kitara Kata
"Byes!" Katrina grinned, her tail wagging as she too spun around and headed off towards her mother.

((Yay! Wrap. whee Thanks for the RP, that was adorable.))

[Meeting Gale]

User Image

Kitara walked into the Wayward Children Pound with her daughter locked onto one of her gloved hands. Crimson eyes scanned the area, the decore looking much like a simply home for orphans. It had sofas, it had a television and trunks filled with toys for the children, anything you would expect.

The necromancer had been in many orphanages before, if not to volunteer then to adopt... like she had Katrina. But unlike the puppy on the end of her arm, this time she could pick and choose... not like she was picky or anything. All she wanted was another needy child that needed caring for. If she couldn't have her own children, she would care for those who didn't have a loving family. Your trying to quell your misery and guilt by caring for these kids. A frown played her pale, youthful features as she tried to drown the haunting voice away.

Daughter in hand, Kitara walked over to an empty couch and sat down, pulling the toddler onto her lap. Once again she scanned the cat-children running about, playing and making games. Maybe one needed a home more then the others...

Katrina however was just interested in all the KITTIES! She might have been a pup, but that didn't keep her from loving felines... oddly enough. She squirmed in her mother's grasp, but wasn't let down. Afterall, who knew what some of the kids would do when Katrina started chasing them to play?

After awhile of quiet observation, Kitara's eyes landed on a black form. It lay curled up in a sitting position, watching the others play. He didn't seem to want or care to join them, a blank, indifferent look on his face.

His whole body was covered in slick, shiney black fur and his eyes were a piercing yellow. His nose was black as well, to blend in with the rest of his body. His hair matched his fur and was cut short and choppy in the back, looking to be sticking up slightly just by a push of his paw through it upward. Choppy black bangs framed his face, though didn't block his view.

He wore a plain brown t-shirt and a pair of dark grey, rolled up jeans. Nothing special. Nothing stand-outish. The reaper smiled and stood.

Holding the canine by her hand, she walked over to him and then kneeled down in front of him.

"Hello there... my names Kitara, and this is my daughter Katrina." She gave a fanged smile, allowing her black, cat-like ears and tail show. Maybe it would be a little comfort to him. "What's your name?"

There was a long pause as the boy watched them, eyeing the playful mutt before finally looking back up at Kitara.

"Gale."

Growing Up

User Image

Quote:
With a groan, Mark pulled himself out of bed. Liten was sat ontop of his hat on the dresser - she'd been moved in with him in Lidiya's absence. Slowly, he got dressed as best he could be bothered, which meant pants and a rather scruffy looking shirt. The Fae made a squeak, looking up at him. He couldn't hear what she'd said, but he could guess. He picked up his hat, and put it on with her sitting in the front of it.

Quote:
It was already passed lunchtime when the vampire awoke, Katrina having already been up for a couple of hours colouring and listening to music. Now she could reach the stareo on her dresser and get toys all by herself! However, her clothes were very tight and uncomfortable... so she had taken everything off with a bit of effort and sat on her floor with a blanket wrapped around her as she waited. Ugh, she was STARVING. Hearing her caretaker up and feeling a pang for her mother, she stood up with the blanket over her head and wrapped around her front. Her sudden growth didn't seem to phase her at all. "Uncle Maaaark... I'm hungry." She tugged at the bottom of his shirt as he walked out of his room, frowning up at him and now standing with her head just above his waist.

Quote:
"I'm an uncle now am ...." He he trailed off. "What the ******** did you eat last night?" He raised a brow looking down at the now rather large pup. It was a good job Lidiya wasn't here, she'd have hit him quite hard for saying '********' infront of Katrina.

Quote:
The sitll-at-present puppy raised a brow. What kind of a question was that? "I ate those hot dogs you gave me." She seemed totally unphased by his cursing, having heard it many times from her mother and auntie's mouths.

Quote:
"Hm. More nutritious than they look..." He said, the tiny fae peeking over the front flap of his hat to look at the giant dog-child below. "I suppose you have no clothes now?" he sighed.

Quote:
"Uhhh... I dunno if mommy bought me anything yet." Katrina certainly seemed more capable of speech and forming sentences, just after the first night.

Quote:
"Well do you know where she'd put it if she did?" Mark asked. A scratching of paws came from the playroom door.

Quote:
"I think so." The child turned and wandered back into her room. Kasinda stirred slightly at the sound, blinking a few times before yawning loudly.

Quote:
Mark followed the pup into the obscenely pink room, doing a good job of looking as tired as he could. The scratching came from the Vampire cat, clawing at the closed door to get out. Kaiser grumbled.

Quote:
She keeps it in this box I think." Katrina slid open the door to her closet and kneeled down, pulling out an ordinary cardboard box and shaking it. "But I don't think theres anything inside." She opened it up, confirming what she thought. "Nopes." The tripod blinked and stared at the black, clawing creature. "What do you want out for?" She asked telepathically. Even though she knew the creature couldn't reply back, it could probably understand her.

Quote:
The black feline stopped his clawing, turning to the Banthi. He understood her question, but couldn't speak to reply. After a moment of thought, he chomped at the air, to illustrate his needs. Mark just looked down at the empty box and sighed. He didn't want to have to go OUT.

Quote:
After closing the box and shoving it back into the closet, she stood up and closed the door. "I can wear one of your shirts until mommy gets back?" The canine looked up at him, her longer hair still messy from sleeping last night. "Arn't we all." Kasinda mumbled, wiggling in her spot a little before finally standing.

Quote:
"I don't think they'll fit, somehow." Mark said. "We could always steal something from Gale." The cat sat by the doorway, watching Kasinda wobble to her odd number of feet. Kaiser rose behind her, though with rather more strength and stability. He shook himself.

Quote:
Katrina blinked. "How wouldn't they fit? Your a lot bigger then me." The banthi wandered over to the doorway before rearing up, knocking down the door handle with her single paw. The door opened and swung out as she landed rather ungracfully back on three paws.

Quote:
"They'd be around your ankles. It'd be like wearing a dress." He said as as he turned around, and headed for the door. The cat smiled up at Kasinda, thanking her with a cheerful sounding "Meow!" He headed out and stopped, spotting Mark in Katrina's doorway.

Quote:
"Awww..." The mutt frowned, her ears drooping slightly. "I guess I gotta ask Gale then?" Gale was downstairs eating from a bag of potato chips and watching TV, lazily positioned on the couch.

Quote:
"Unless you want to look really silly all day." Mark said. Lidiya's cat hopped over to him and meowed loudly. It didn't take a genious to guess what he wanted. "Yes. Damnit." he grumbled in response, heading for the stairs. He stroked Kaiser's head, which protruded from the playroom doorway as he passed it.

Quote:
"Hn." Katrina's ears flickered, flopping about in a humerous fashion as she followed him. Though she stopped at the top of the stairs. "Gaaaaaale..." She called pathetically.

The cat's ears perked and he turned around, looking over the back of the sofa at the newly grown pup. He raised a brow in slight surprise, having not expected her to grow in such rapid spurts. "Yeah?"

Kasinda sat next to her love interest, another yawn stretching her muzzle. Afterwards she shook her neck, tossing her long fur on her neck about. "Hn..."

Quote:
"Hn?" Kaiser looked down at the Banthi, his snout prodding at her fur lightly. Mark strode off into the Kitchen, Lidiya's cat following him for food.

Quote:
"I need to wear your clothes until mommy comes back." Katrina frowned. What was taking her so long? She wanted her home...

"Oh, okay." Gale got up and wandered upstairs, leading her into his room so they could find something that fit her comfortably. He was taller then her, but a lot... thinner.

"I'm still sleepy." The femme grumbled.

Quote:
"Then Kasinda will sleep a while longer?" The Dire Wolf said, though it was difficult to tell whether he was asking or suggesting. Mark pulled one of the bottles of blood from Kitara's fridge, and carefully filled a saucer with it. He was too lazy to warm it up, and placed it on the floor infront of the cat - who lapped away at it feverishly.

Quote:
"Meh. Might as well stay up." Kas shrugged what shoulders she had.

Quote:
"Kai sees Kitara may have overfed black-puppy." He said, stating what was, possibly, fact. Afterall, Kaiser rarely spoke of his opinions, so this was likely just an ovbservation rather than anything malicious. Kai didn't do malicious, did he?

Quote:
The spotted creme raised an eyebrow, neck craning somewhat to see slightly into the child's room. "I don't think so. If that were the case, all of us would be fat... I think she's just big-boned. Or built like that." It was times like these she was glad the child couldn't hear her, Kaiser however... She gave him a thwap with her tail. "And try not to talk about it. She might not notice it now, but later on who knows if the kids will pick on her."

Quote:
Kaiser smiled. "Kai thinks Mistress will make puppy feel better." He said. .... Though what he meant by that was hard to say.

Quote:
"How so?" Kasinda inquired.

Quote:
"Mistress tends to be able to make anyone feel or look 'pretty'" Kaiser replied. "When she wants to... Did Kasinda ever see Kitara wearing black and red leg-things?" He asked, referring to the clothing Lidiya had bought for the necromancer to make her look more mature.

Quote:
A short while after the two had vanished into Gale's room, they came out. He lead the girl downstairs, since she had been whining for missing breakfast and almost lunch.

The tripod kept her yellow gaze on him. "Red and black leg things...? Afraid your gonna have to be more spesific then that." She chuckled mentally.

Katrina wore a plain white shirt that looked just a little big for her, along with a pair of khaki shorts that seemed to fit her pretty well around the waist.

Quote:
"Kai thinks they are stockings." The wolf said, his speech always hindered his communication in some way. He looked at the black pup as she passed the dorrway. "Yes, Mistress will have fun with black-puppy." he said, talking to nobody in particular.

Quote:
Kas watched the two pass, then looked back up at the dire wolf. "You mean in making her look pretty?"

Quote:
The wolf nodded. "Mistress will insist." The Vampire cat was licking away at the last of the red-stained saucer when he looked up at the young anthros. Mark seemed to have put something in the microwave - it smelled like Macaronni... Which he himself hated the smell of.

Quote:
The feline wandered into the kitchen first, glancing at the mircowave and assuming it was for his "little sister". He rather disliked macaronni too. Instead he shoved one of his clawed hands into his pockets and opened the fridge, tail flicking slightly behind him.

"I hope she knows that she can't wear make-up." The banthi said, glancing back at the pair of sleeping kitsusagi before looking ahead once more. Her stomach gave an audible rumble. "Time for lunch?" Golden orbs trailed upwards to Kaiser's face.

Katrina wandered in afterwards, sniffing the air with her longer muzzle before walking over to the mircowave and peeking through the small window on the front. "Mac and cheese?" She asked, bright brown eyes looking up at Mark.

Quote:
The wolf said nothing for a moment, seemingly in thought. "... Yes, I suppose so." he said, and waited for Kasinda to move before following behind her. Mark looked down at the pup. "Your food is in there." he said, though said nothing to gale, since appeared to be a little more self-sufficient.

Quote:
Gale simply grabbed a soda and then turned, heading back into the living room to watch more TV and eat chips.

The canine's tail wagged, her stomach growling. She had missed breakfast, so now she was STARVING.

Kasinda got up slowly and then started down the stairs. She knew the wolf didn't eat, but he seemed hardly the type to get upset over asking such a thing. He didn't seem the type to overly express ANY particular emotion.

Quote:
Kai followed along happily enough - indeed, he didn't mind at all. Mark's hat was off now, and sat on the table with the tiny blue girl sat next to it, along with what appeared to be a bottle cap full of water. Tiny eyes peered across at Katrina... Liten wasn't fond of animals.. or children. The Microwave continued to hum for a while, then made a beeping sound, mark reached in, withdrawing the cheesy contents. He wondered if Katrina would manage to stay clean this time. Lidiya would be rather proud if she did, he guessed.

Quote:
Katrina watched him, tail wagging all the while. Her eyesight wasn't nearly the best, so she didn't even notice Liten.

The femme wandered down as well, stopping in the large kitchen doorway. "Mind getting me out some rabbit and heating it up a little? And some water?" She asked Mark.

Quote:
"Too lazy to hunt?" Mark smirked, though made no real complaint as complied with her request. The black cat meowed upon finishing his meal, and Mark snatched up the saucer. After a moment of silence, (aside from the microwave starting up again) the scruffy grey wolf wandered in. He was, at present, still taller than Katrina.

Quote:
Kas frowned, not making a comment about that.

Quote:
Mark wandered off out of the kitchen, leaving the microwave humming away. Kaiser looked down at Kasinda, and then at the Vampire cat. Slowly, his eyes trailed over to the black pup. Mistress had told him to be nice to her... whatever that meant.

Quote:
The mutt sat down and started to eat her macaronni and cheese silently.

Quote:
Though not really seeing the need for it himself, the wolf decided he'd try and make some kind of conversation with the chubby pup. Afterall, it was what Mistress wanted of him, wasn't it? "Lidiya says you don't like dogs." he said, his his ears flopping sadly.

Quote:
Katrina licked her maw clean of cheese and glanced up at the wolf. Her ears drew back and she shook her head.

Quote:
The grey wolf's ears remained flopped down. "Kai thinks that is a shame. Kai likes dogs. Kai can be fun, when Kai wants to be." His tail flicked back and forth behind him as Mark footsteps signalled his return - and with good timing as the microwave began beeping again.

Quote:
The puppy said nothing, but continued to eat her lunch.

Quote:
Happy that he'd made his effort, the wolf said nothing further. He didn't care enough to say anything else. Mark placed the bowl of rabbit meat on the floor, followed shortly afterwards by a second bowl, filled with water. He sat down at the table, and stared down at the Fae. Silently, the Vampire cat left, heading off into the living room.

Quote:
The spotted creme walked over to her food and leaned down as she began eating.

Quote:
Mark's gaze trailed from the fae and fell upon the pup. "Where's your hat gone?" he asked.

Quote:
"It's in my room." Katrina said as she just about finished her mac and cheese.

Quote:
"When are you gonna be in school?" he asked simply. He hoped Kitara and Lidiya got back before then - whenever it was.

Quote:
"Uhhh... What's today?" She asked.

Quote:
"Today?" Mark raised a brow. "Today is monday." he said. The Fae's bottle cap was empty now, and she began rolling it around the table on its side.

Quote:
"But what's the date?" The child watched as the bottle cap started rolling across the table, a confused "aroow?" coming from her maw.

Quote:
"uh..." Mark fumbled. He'd lost track of such things since he got here. "May... something?" he shrugged. He was rather impressed with the pup's sudden increase in in intelligence though. It made things a lot easier. On the table, the bottlecap rolled along for a few inches before it stopped before the tiny fae - it seemed about waist-hight to her.

Quote:
"Calander is over there. By the phone." Katrina pointed after licking her maw free of cheese.

Quote:
"Rather clever all of a sudden, aren't you?" Mark smirked, lazily pulling himself to his feet.

Quote:
"Huh?" The canine raised a brow, the lapse in development she always experianced when she grew being totally normal to her. She slid off her chair and licked whatever cheese had managed to get on her hands or borrowed clothing. "When's mommy gonna be home?"

Quote:
"I dunno." Mark said. "But I wish she'd hurry up." He said - he'd pulled the red hairs from his head the previous night.

Quote:
"Me too." Katrina frowned, feeling a pang in her chest for her mother or even Lidiya at the moment... not that she didn't love her Uncle Mark. In some cases, she felt the most comfortable around him.

Quote:
"Well, she'll have Lidiya with her when she does get here." he said. "I'm sure she'll want to play with you now that you're... bigger. " He looked at that calendar, following along... monnnndayyyyy.....? "It's the 8th"

Quote:
"Uhhhh..." The mutt stood at the doorway. What has Kitara said? She scratched her unruly hair with a clawed hand. "Twenty-something?"

Quote:
"Oh, good." Mark grinned. "That means I can sit on my a**." He wondered what he'd have said had it been an earlier date... whatever it would have been, it would have been a word the pup didn't yet know. He looked down at the pup for a moment. "I don't have to play with you now, do I?"

Quote:
Katrina raised a brow, almost looking insulted. Was she that much of a pest? But she didn't retort like she would if it were a woman who said that. "Nah, I'll go colour." And so, she headed upstairs. She didn't want to bug him, despite how much she liked him.

Quote:
"Awesome." He said. "I should babysit you more often... For money too." Getting paid to sit on his a** sounded good. Lidiya would have hit him again, now.

Quote:
It had been a couple of days since they had first left Gaia, giving Kitara enough time to properly heal herself with the help of the lycans to get both of them back. Once it got dark, she managed to slowly walk towards the basement door Lidiya was staying in and knocking on it. She wore a large plain t-shirt donated from one of the males long enough to hide what she didn't have so she didn't end up standing naked in front of Katrina when they got back.

Quote:
The Vampiress opened the door, knowing it was Kitara. "Good evening, dear." she smiled down at her.

Quote:
"Ready to go back?" The necromancer asked, looking up at her as she used the wall to lean on. Walking hurt. Talking hurt. Sitting hurt. Hell, everything still hurt... but at least the carvings were gone and she would actually walk now.

Quote:
"Well, it's not like I have a pile of new friends here." The redhead smirked. "Sure, ready when you are."

Quote:
Kitara rolled her eyes and held out her, still bandaged, hand. After a couple moments she grimaced, the image of her scythe flickering before finally materializing into her palm. She grabbed it and turned it upside-down, ripping a portal open into the living room of her home on Gaia with the blade.

Quote:
Lidiya smiled, and stepped through.

Quote:
The reaper stepped through right after her, having said her goodbyes earlier. Once the portal was closed behind her and she stood safely inside her home her scythe vanished and her hand dropped. Her legs shifted under her weight, as if they weren't used to supporting her. "Where's Katrina?" She said practically on instinct.

Quote:
"Where's my Kitty?" Lidiya said. "Upstairs, and right here." Mark said from the sofa, the cat on his lap. "Where the ******** have you two been?" he said.

Quote:
"Visiting an old friend." Kitara said automatically as she started towards the stairs. Though before she could, the pup came barreling down the stairs and literally tackled her mother. "MOMMY! Your back!" Not ready for such a weight change, she winded up sprawled on her back with a rather bigger dog on her chest.

Quote:
The Vampiress scooped up her Kitty, which mewed enthusiastically as she snuggled it against herself. "I have a name for you, dear..." she cooed, words which caused the the little black feline to look up at her hopefully. She headed off upstairs too - she'd heard the the change in Katrina's voice, and could guess what had happened in her absense. ... Mark just sat there. "Hi Mark, how are you?" he asked himself sarcastically.

Quote:
The demoness had to double take at Katrina's grinning face. She slowly sat up, her daughter still hugging her waist and tail wagging a mile a minute. Hesitantly she hugged her back but looked both shocked and incredibly sad she haden't been here for her. "I'm glad to see you too..." She forced a smile and fought back the tears. If she wanted to cry, it wouldn't be around her.

Quote:
"I'm calling you Erythro-...." The Vampiress cut herself off as Kitara landed at the foot of the stairs infront of her. "... -Cyte." The Cat looked down at Kitara, and then up at Lidiya and nodded - accepting the name she'd given him. Lidiya smiled back at him, then looked Katrina. "I see someone's grown a little." she grinned, fangs showing.

Quote:
After awhile, the hug was broken and Kitara crouched in front of the child. "Did Mark take good care of you? Did you have fun?" "Yeah!" Her tail still wagged and she even managed to grin up at Lidiya. "... I'm sorry I took so long to get home. I didn't stay there intentionally." Once again she pulled her daughter into a hug and rubbed her face into her short hair.

Chubby Babies

Kitara Kata
Kitara sat next to Katrina on the couch of her and her sister's home. It was somewhat small and out in the middle of nowhere, but that didn't seem to bother either of them since both liked their privacy. It was just passed lunch time and the pup was watching TV while the necromancer read a book beside her. Rabid had mentioned something about bringing Sevy home telepathically a little while ago and today was supposed to be the day... but other then that, she had been given very little detail.

Crimson gaze went over to the door as she heard her sibling approaching. "Auntie is home." She said quietly, Katrina turning to look at the door as well.

Rabid Jigglypuff
Heavy footsteps could be heard as Rabid climbed onto the front porch of their little cottage house, obviously hindered, her movements were a lot noiser than usual. Thank the skies the door was unlocked because her hands were apparently VERY full.

"Tadaima." She sighed heavily as she swung the door open though was barely able to keep it open halfway as she stopped to awkwardly drag in an armful of stuffed duffel bags. Her other arm was occupied by a large bundle of dark green blanket. "Gimme a hand?" The odd request was rather out of character for the demoness who normally preferred to do things herself, but in truth she was really too tired to bother keeping an air of egotistical defiance towards her burden.

Kitara Kata
Kitara's ears perked and she marked her spot in the book before setting it aside. "Sure. What's all this?" Standing, she walked over and took all of the dufflebags from Rabid's grasp. Unlike her, she didn't know what fatique was.

Her ears perked as she looked up at the bundle. Even the child sitting on the couch seemed rather interested and scampered over. "Hi auntie! Who's that?" She inquired, tail wagging behind her. It smelled very familiar...

Rabid Jigglypuff
"Thanks luv." The demoness mumbled a thanks to her sibling and flexed the digits in her other arm to relieve the annoying cramps. "Hi sweetie!" Rabid tiredly greeted her pup neice as she moved towards the fireplace to plop down on an area rug. "It's your cousin Sevy. He's coming home to live with us." She didn't have the will to put more effort into explaining, resting the bundle in her lap while grappling for a duffel bag. "Uhuuu..." She whined immaturely when she couldn't reach the bottle poking out of it.

A whimper came from the bundle in Rabid's lap, the precious cargo seeming to just wake up from a long nap. A chubby green arm reached out sleepily, reaching out for a fuschia dreadlock that had accidently brushed his cheek.

Kitara Kata
"Sevy?" Katrina followed her aunt, plopping down beside her as she watched a pudgy green hand reach out. Her ears perked. "He grew up too!" She grinned, last she had seen him he was still a plant!

"Here." The reaper handed her the bottle and set down the dufflebags inside the door for now. "So that's Sevy?" She took a seat in one of the armchairs next to her, the fireplace having gone dull now that it was summertime. "I guess by the looks of it he's staying here now." She smiled, the thought of seeing both of them around more making her rather happy.

Rabid Jigglypuff
Rabid smiled, sitting the bundle up and pulling down the sides of the blanket to expose the pudgy baby inside. "Yup! Grew into a very, very, big boy." She snickered and gladly accepted the bottle, shaking it lightly to stir the contents. "I'll be so glad when he grows teeth and starts feeding and changing himself." She muttered under her breath, looking at Kitara with an annoyed look.

"Baaa-ba!" Sevy gurgled, playing with the buttons on his blue shirt. He knew food was coming, no need to be fussy like he'd seen other babies act back at the labs. Eventually his short attention span changing his focus to Katrina's hat which he tried to reach for with a fangy grin.

Kitara Kata
Kitara laughed slightly. "I dunno, I always enjoy careing for little babies." It didn't take a genious to figure out why, especially when they knew of her past as much as the chaos demon did. Leaning over, she wiggled a clawed finger over Sevy.

The canine blinked and then reached for her ushanka with both hands. "You like my hat? You can wear it after your done eating. Lidiya says not to get it dirty."

Rabid Jigglypuff
"EeeYAAaaa" Sevy echoed, waving his chubby fingers at the hat as the black pup motioned to it. He then squealed in delight at Kitara's wriggling 'toy', going for that target next.

"You would." She muttered a retort though her expression showed she was joking. "Doooown the hatch!" The demoness swayed the prepped bottle and aimed it at Sevy, who engulfed and immediately began suckling like he hadn't seen food in a week.

"You know how annoying it is to prepare this cr-stuff?" Rabid shook her head, gesturing to the bottle that was permanently attached to the baby (at least until it'd run dry). "So what did you do today, Kit-Kat?" She didn't want to make it look like she'd ignore the other child now that a new baby was in the house.

Kitara Kata
The demoness smirked. "Prepare his food? What does he eat, exactly? He's a plant afterall..." She trailed off, watching the chubby baby devour his food. Her daughter had acted the same way... would Sevy be chubby like her too? She kind of hoped so... maybe then she wouldn't feel so alone when she got older and realized she was bigger then most children her age.

"I played DDR and watched some TV after lunch." Katrina said with a grin as she watched the chubby baby with a lot of interest. "Can I play with him after he's done eating?"

Rabid Jigglypuff
Rabid shrugged, looking almost hesitant to devulge the mystery of what exactly the buddha baby was eating. "Well," She slowly began, trying to sound professional. It made the description sound less gruesome. "As he is of venus flytrap origin and they are insectivorous AND a baby at the same time, I'm forced to prepare a homogenous concoction of formula, vitamins and well, uh... protein... solids."

Sevy obliviously sucked down the contents of his bottle, wriggling his chubby fingers infront of his face while the other hand helped keep his bottle suspended. "Mmph." He grunted once and awhile, bright eyes following each face of the three that surrounded him.

"That's the life." She commented to Katrina, moving on to a different subject. She wished she didn't have to work at the labs every day or keep her shops running smoothly, much preferring to stay home and play DDR too. "Sure you can. He's almost done too." The remark was made as the demoness peered wonderously at the bottle bag that was in the process of being squeezed dry. "What did YOU do today, mummy?" Rabid smirked mischeviously at her sibling.

Kitara Kata
Kitara just raised and brow and stuck her tongue out at her sister. "Right, whatever that is. Ground up flies?" She asked, ears twitching. "And... y'know. Worked, cleaned, came home and have been tending to Katrina. She starts school in a couple weeks!" Crimson eyes smiled down at her daughter.

"Okay." The mutt sat back as she waited for Sevy to be finished.

Rabid Jigglypuff
Rabid's head-wings perked up as the thought registered and the woman snapped her head up to stare at Katrina from behind black shades. "SCHOOL? What the f-, already?" Her voice was a high squeak of disbelief. It wasn't possible she was THAT old yet, was she? Where the hell did time go...?

Sevy made a very loud suckling sound as he squeezed the last drops out of the bottle before plucking it from his own mouth and pushing it away. "Dun." He smiled, proud of himself before twisting around to reach up at his keeper. "Burpy?"

Kitara Kata
"Yah!" Katrina seemed excited at least. "Mommy says I'll go to school in Durem. And I get to learn how to dance!" Her tail wagged more, thumping against the area rug they sat on.

"Time flies, doesn't it?" The hellspawn gave a sad smile.

Rabid Jigglypuff
Rabid shut her mouth, looking from Katrina to Kitara with a mute expression. Time flew all right, and from the looks of it she wasn't liking it. "What kinda dancing?" She curiously asked for the purpose of edging away from the subject at hand. "You don't need school to teach you, your Auntie Rabid will teach you how to dance." She gave wry and fangy grin, twitching an eyebrow to her sibling at the same time as she lifting the chubby baby to her shoulder and patted his back rhythmically.

It wasn't long before Sevy let out a couple of loud burps, wriggling his toes in glee as he was set down on to the rug. "CheeeeNAAAAH!" He began calling out immediately, eager to play with his cousin.

Kitara Kata
"I like all the songs, mostly." The pup didn't know what different 'types' of dancing there were yet, but she enjoyed her DDR machine for the time being. "You know how to dance, auntie?" She inquired while tickling her 'cousin's' tummy with her own blunt, black claws.

Kitara fell silent, knowing all too well how her sibling felt. Children didn't stay children long enough...

Rabid Jigglypuff
"Your Auntie loves to dance." Rabid grinned, playing with her neice's floppy ears. She tried to ignore the look of pain on her sister's face. Even if the expression was so well hidden beneath her pale, stoic complexion it was as clear as day to the woman who knew her best.

Sevy curled his toes as he giggled, rolling back and forth on his bum as he was tickled. "Gaaah!" He squealed and tried to retaliate, rolling onto his knees and clinging to Katrina's skirt for leverage to climb on.

Kitara Kata
"Really?" Katrina asked, though let out a small cry of alarm as the chubby baby began climbing on her. "Ah!" With a bit of effort, she manuvered him around to sit him on her lap. Then removing her ushanka, she set it on his much smaller head with a grin. "You play DDR, auntie?"

Rabid Jigglypuff
Rabid snickered, shrugging her shoulders as she watched Sevy play with little alarm. "A little. Your mum's better than me, I think though I bet we'll beat her some day!"

Before the baby could react to being placed in a sitting position again, everything went dark as something covered his head. The hat fell down a little past his nose and the green boy slowly felt the material, trying to figure out the situation. He was distracted and quiet for now.

Kitara Kata
The catgirl laughed. "They need to make a harder version of it for me." When speed, balance, and accuracy were the top things you excelled in for the better part of 2,000 years a little game like DDR wasn't much of a challenge. It was fun though.

"I didn't know you played DDR and danced, mommy." The child said as she looked over at her mother, allowing the baby in her lap to be occupied by her hat for now.

"Heh... yeah. I haven't done it in awhile and at least not with the one I bought you. Didn't want to take it up from you or anything." Kitara smiled.

Rabid Jigglypuff
Sevy finally managed to yank the hat off his head, only to stare at it intently before beginning to gum the side. Oblivious to the fact that he wasn't supposed to be dirtying it, he continued his slobbering duty until a rather long yawn interrupted him.

"Yea yea." Rabid grumbled, rolling her eyes though it was probably hard to see that she did so. "I can still kick anyone's a** in first-person shooters." The demoness snickered to herself before realizing the yawn. "Uh oh, looks like someone's ready for bed." She gave a lopsided smirk to the green baby who promptly shook his head no.

Kitara Kata
"Blech, guns." The necromancer stuck her tongue out at Rabid before her ears perked at the yawn. "Awww, sleepy baby." She smiled before standing and grabbing the duffle bags. "I guess I'll go lug these into Sevy's new room then."

"Hey!" Katrina gently pulled the hat away from the green baby. "Your not supposed to get it dirty..." Her ears drooped and she wiped at the drool on it with her shirt. Cleanliness be danmed... unless it was her ushanka. The last thing she wanted was Lidiya to yell at her.

Rabid Jigglypuff
"Thanks!" Rabid called to Kitara as she began to get up, flattening the wrinkles in her clothes before reaching down to scoop up the baby. "OOoof!" She groaned mockingly, insinuating that the kid weighed a ton. "Say nighty night to your cousin!"

Sevy made a waving gesture with his chubby hand once he was slung over Rabid's shoulder. "Ni ni, Cheena." He gurgled and lay his head down on his mother's shoulder tiredly.

"Goodnight Katrina," She stopped to smile down at the pup before heading upstairs. "Sorry about the hat sweetie, blame it on me if anyone asks, ok?" The demoness then made her way upstairs with Sevy. She must've been pretending to drop him, because after every few steps the baby could be heard bursting into a fit of giggles.

September 7th '06
My, it's been quiet awhile since I've actually sat down and written anything in this old journal of mine. Though I suppose I shouldn't be surprised - I've gone decades without writing anything before. Though of course those decades I didn't exactly have two children to take care of.

Things have gone surprisingly well over the last two months, though I can't help but feel that won't last... it normally doesn't - which makes it hard for me to relax and enjoy it.

Certain things I have since given up on ever since Lidiya and Mark have come to live in Gaia. One of them being the vampiress'... hobbies. Though I'll never accept them and I certainly won't allow Katrina over to her home unless certain things are locked up tight, along with her actually being dressed appropriatly, I trust her enough not to turn my daughter into a whore like herself and I'm sure she knows that now.

Mark has been... well, Mark I suppose. Lately I think he's been trying to build a robot much like the ones in Aekea - though I made sure to inform him that all robots outside of the walls of that town are illegal... but I don't think he cares. I've stayed mostly out of his affairs and my affections for him are lost, gone with the realization that my love for him was foolish from the start.

Things with sister have been fine, like they always are. Though I think taking care of her little child Sevy is taking it's toll on her. Unlike me, she has less human in her and so dealing with a child has started to become more and more of a chore. I'm still trying to help her with it but when it comes down to it, she'll always be a chaos demon.

Gale has also grown into a handsome young man... they grow up so fast, don't they? His grades in school are a little higher than average, though he seems to enjoy writing stories and poetry - wants to be an author when he gets older. He also has mentioned his interest in playing the cello, but I have yet to aquire the funds to send him to a class. Perhaps by Christmas I'll be able to afford him one of his own so he can teach himself in his spare time. It's a shame that's one of the few instruments I never picked up, so I don't have one laying around anywhere.

And Katrina - she's been growing so much. She's certainly developed into a happy little girl... not that she's very little. She does have a small weight problem and is a little more chubbier then most of the children her age, but I think it's just how she is. It's been a constant source of drama since some of the children have taken to picking on her, but every time she complains I'm quick to take it up at it's source - the parents. I'll not have my daughter upset.

She's learned to read and write, though is having more difficulty then normal. I'm trying to help her as much as I can, her grades being a little lower then average - but hopefully that'll cure over time. One thing she excells in however is dance, despite her rather curvacious figure. Ballet has been a constant interest for her and she's done rather well, though as she's getting older she's realized that there are more areas of dance that arn't all tutus and pink. Swing dancing has really intriuged her and thus I'm hopeing to put her into a class soon. But like Gale's interest in the cello, I simply don't have the funds at the time.

Well, it's almost time to pick the children up from school. I suppose I'll wrap this rather long entry up with one thing: life, at the moment, is good.

[A Typical Day]

Today was not a very pleasent day in Gaia, the clouds dragging overhead and blocking the sun as heavy rain poured down over everything. It was cold and wet and miserable and none of the Kata family were enjoying it.

"The rain is so depressing." Gale mumbled as he walked alongside his caretaker, holding an umbrella with one hand and the other shoved deep within his grey trenchcoat.

"The rain is poopy! It smells and it's wet and I smell worms." Katrina complained, huddled against her adoptive mother in a hot pink raincoat and her ushanka, a pair of matching rainboots on her feet.

The necromancer walked between both of them, one gloved hand holding onto another umbrella and the other holding her daughter's. "I'm not particularly fond of it either. Though what's good about it is that Lidiya should be more awake today, seeing as it's cloudy."

They were walking home from school to the vampiress cave-like abode like they always did. Kitara would walk them there, drop them off to be watched, and then head off to one of her many jobs.

Gale didn't really mind this, as he would just use it as time to finish his homework. Katrina loved it, normally barging into Lidiya's room where Mark slept and partaking in the ritual of waking him up... loudly. It always got a nice "*grumble* lemme alone" response that made her giggle. ---
As they got to the door, the demoness let go of her daughter's hand and knocked.
Indeed, this was lovely weather as far as Lidiya was concerned - she'd already been out in it for a stroll - wasn't often she got to walk around in the daylight. A vinyl-gloved hand opened the door - and the tall redhead smiled down at them all - dwarfing even the tallest of them by a full nine inches.

"Hellooooooo!" She beamed in her thick russian accent, giving a fanged grin. "Come in, come in." She said, stepping aside. "No cat likes the rain." She ruffled Gale's hair and ears, her glove squeaking as she did.

Kitatapoo: Augh ********, his hair. Gale winced and groaned before shaking off his umbrella, pulling it in and stepping inside - making sure to wipe his sneakers on the rug before walking any farther.

"Dogs don't like it either!" The pup spoke up as she was lead inside, wiping off her feet before kicking her rubbers off like hot pink projectiles.

"Be good for Lidiya, I'll be back to pick you up around eight." She normally worked that late, and thus the vampiress was always in charge of making sure they got their homework done and got fed before she came back.

After placing a kiss on both their foreheads, much to Gale's annoyance, she looked up at Lidiya and nodded. "See you then." And so she turned to leave, vanishing once she was a few steps away from the door.
Lidiya smiled, closing the door. Her home was always so... Dark - though as a matter of courtesy for her mortal friends, she flicked a switch, lighting the room in a dim glow. Hardly bright, but still. ... You could atleast see now.

The stone walls were polished flat and smooth, and the floor, beyond its red rugs in certain places, was the same throughout most of the house - a black and white checkerboard of meter-square, polished marble tiles. The Vampiress stood, dressed about as conservatively as she normally got, in her shiny black spiked gloves, a matching corset, miniskirt and thigh boots - all of the same squeaky-shiny materials that she seemed so fond of.

"We gonna get your homework done first so we can all lounge around and play for as long as we can afterwards?" She asked, giving another fanged grin.
"Suppose so." Gale said as he removed his coat, hanging it on the rack nearby. He wore simple clothing like always, a simple pair of jeans and a black t-shirt. He also removed his sneakers, prefering to walk around barefoot when he could - shoes were rather uncomfortable when you had paws built for walking along hard surfaces to begin with. He also reached out, picking up his little sister's boots and setting them upright.

Katrina undid her raincoat and held it up to Lidiya, too short to hang it herself. Though the urge to simply throw it on the ground was rather high. "Nah-uh, I don't wanna do homework." Was her automatic reply. "S'Mark still asleep?" She grinned broadly, her tail wagging from side to side.
Lidiya took the coat from her and hung it up. "No, he's busy elsewhere." She said. "Working on his gizmos. He'll come up to you in a bit."

She stretched her arms out. "So make a start on your homework, then you'll have more time to play with him." She left Gale pretty much to his own devices for now, but rest assured she'd want to go over and cuddle him later.
And Gale did just that, picking up this bookbag and walking to where Lidiya's kitchen was so he could sit down at her table and start on his homework.

"You'll probably have to help her on her addition and subtraction." He called back. "She has some writing to do too I think." Ever the helpful brother, wasn't he? Then again, he had his own slipping grades to worry about.

Katrina whinned and pouted, grabbing her bookbag as well. "Don't wanna dooooo homework." She complained again. ---
Unlike the schools back on Earth, you didn't really pass a grade the same way. Kids of all ages were simply grouped into different classes depending on their learning ability and as they passed and learned certain things throughly, they then passed the class they were in and moved onto the next level up. Some children passed with flying colours and were out of school in a few years, and others were a little slower and took more time to finish.
Lidiya nodded at Gale's words, then looked down at the pup. "If you do it you get more time to plaaaaaaay!" She said. "Come on now, I'll help you with it if you need me." She said.

She looked back over her shoulder to the kitchen. "Gale? What do you have to do?"
"Math 'n science and crap." The feline called back, already sitting himself down at the table and pulling out his geometry book.

"Fiiiine." Katrina whinned and started towards the kitchen as well.
Lidiya smiled, patting her on the head. "Good girl."

"I cry that neither of you have yet to study Vampires though." She followed her in.
"We covered it a little bit at the begining, they were the first species we learned of." Gale replied as he fished through his text. He had gotten a lot more talkative as he grew and was now familiar enough with the vampiress to trust her and speak aloud freely. "Wasn't much to learn." He admitted.

"I didn't learn about them yet." The mutt spoke up as she crawled up onto a seat as well, putting her bookbag on the table.

"You'll learn about them when you get your reading and writing down." Gale scratched his unruly black hair, tail curling off the chair he sat on and into the air.
The redhead nodded, wandering over to her fridge and withdrawing one of the bottles of blood from it - which was promptly put to her lips. She hopped up and sat on the counter - and would be silent until asked for help - the only sound to be heard was the feint whirring of Mark's machine from elsewhere in the 'house'.
For the most part both were silent, the black cat's nose in his math book and Katrina... well...

Her brown eyes looked this way and that, then at the sheet of mixed addition and subtraction problems in front of her. She chewed on her pencil and looked over at her older brother, then back around the room again.

Floppy ears twitched at the sound of Mark working and she wiggled a little in her chair before looking up at Lidiya. "Can I pleeeeeease go see Mark?" She begged, grinning over at her like an idiot and batting her eyelashes.

There wasn't really much of a reason for her to like the guy so much. She just... did.
: Lidiya rolled her eyes and sighed. "He's busy, dear!" She said, hopping back down from the counter and taking a seat beside Katrina. "He'll be done in a while, so lets get this stuff out of the way so we can play with him, 'kay?"

She leaned over to look at the sheet. "c'mon, let's start with the first one. Read it out to me."
GROOOOAN. The pup rolled her head and stuck out her pink and black spotted tongue before looking back at the sheet and holding it up. "Seven plus twelve."
"Ok." Lidiya smiled. "So what's an easier number to work with than twelve?" She asked.
"I dunno." Katrina shrugged, looking up at her.
"How about ten? Ten plus two is twelve, isn't it?" She smiled.
: "... Yes?" She raised a brow, having no idea where Lidiya was going with this.
"So what's ten plus seven?" She asked, giving Katrina an obviously easy sum.
There was a pause where the tiny pup held out her paws and counted silently. "Seventeen?" She asked again.
Lidiya nodded. "So if ten plus seven is seventeen, what's ten plus twelve?" She asked. "Twelve is only two bigger than ten is..."
Katrina just stared at her for a minute before giving up on trying to figure out what she meant. She held out her fingers and counted from seven with her fingers, trying to add twelve to it slowly and silently.
: Lidiya shook her head. "No, no, not ten plus twelve." she laughed. "Seven plus twelve." God, being awake in the day was horrible.

"Seven plus ten is seventeen."
"Seven plus twelve is...?"
"I was doin' that, sh!" Damnit now she lost count! Katrina started again, counting on her fingers.
: Lidiya fell silent, deciding to let the pup do it the long way - even though all she had to do was add two.

And so they continued to work on her adding and subtracting, the sheet getting more and more difficult as they got farther. The little pup had thrown a couple fits in anger over how complicated Lidiya seemed to make it, but eventually got it finished.

By that time Gale had taken out a pair of headphones and was listening to some orchestral music as he finished his geometry and half of his science.
"There." Lidiya smiled. "All done. You can bug Mark now if you like." She said, ruffling the pup's hair with her gloved hand.
"YAY!" But just as Katrina hopped down her older sibling spoke up without moving his gaze from his text.

"She has a paper to write."

DAMNIT! The pup grumbled.
"Oh does she?" Lidiya grinned. "Thank you, Gale." She smiled.

"Come back little one - let's see what you've gotta do." She sighed - just to show the pup that it was just as tedious to her.
Katrina mumbled and climbed back into her chair, pulling out a black and white notebook that was for all her writting assignments. "I gotta do this one." She opened it up and pointed to a blue sheet of paper on the inside cover, a list of all the writing assignments she needed to complete.

It seemed #6 was due, which stated: "Write about the person who you care for the most and explain why." It was a simple assignment, but she was still in only one of the lowest grades. That and her writing was just as horrible as her math.

The feline put away his science, finished with what homework that needed completed. He then pulled out a little pocket notebook of his own and curled his legs up on the chair to rest it behind them. It was the little book he wrote all his poetry in and normally he wrote at least one or two a day.
"Ok. Who do you care about more than anyone else then?" The Vampiress asked, letting Gale do whatever he pleased.
Kitatapoo: The pup thought for a moment, but didn't have to think long before she smiled and her tail wagged against the back of the chair. "Mom."
Lidiya smiled, nodding - she'd expected that answer. "Ok." She said. "Then write about why you love her so much. Write about all the things she does and how great she is." The redhead beamed, smiling from ear to ear.
Katrina turned to the first clean page and started to write. Being both a messy writer and left handed made her letters big and sloppy, but she didn't seem to mind.

"The one I love most is my mom. She takes care of me and adopted me when I was a baby. She takes me to school evryday and even to ballet practise after school sometimes."

She stopped and tried to think of something else to write.
Lidiya remained silent, choosing not to correct the pup's spelling - feeling that would only aggrivate her right now.

"What else does she do?" She asked sweetly. "Does she play games with you?"
"Oh yeah." She smiled and started writing again.

"My mom plays games with me too, and takes me to the park to play with my friends."

After about ten minutes of writing she had gotten about a page finished, the requirment for the assignment. "Done!" She grinned, dropping her pencil and flinging her arms in the air.
Lidya smiled, quickly scanning through the words to make sure it was atleast comprehensible.
And for the most part it was, save for a handful of spelling and punctuation errors - not counting the short one-liner sentences.

"Can I go bug Mark now?" She wagged her tail.
"Yeah, go ahead." The Vampiress smiled, sending her off on her way. "Just follow the noises." she snorted.

With Katrina out of her way she'd probably go and invade Gale's privacy by staring over his shoulder at his poems.
"YAY!" Katrina leapt from her chair, leaving her things scattered about before running her chubby little frame towards the noises.

The anthro cat stayed where he was, shiney black tail swaying up and down as it hung off the side of the chair lazily. The page he was working on had a lot of crossed out and earased words.

He tapped his pencil on the page, considering simply scraping it like he normally did when he couldn't get it worded right.
AltHumphro: Lidiya scampered around the table to sit beside him - a huge grin on her face as her inhumanly accurate eyesight peered over at his notebook.

Mark was in a room which seemed to have been put aside for nothing but Lidiya and Mark's junk - ranging from clothes to ornaments to spare light fittings to rifles and old machineguns.
The poem was rather scribbled, but overall as finished as it would ever get.

"I do not like a rainy day.
The road is wet, the sky is gray.
They dress me up, from head to toes,
In lots and lots of rubber clothes.
I wish the sun would come and stay.
I do not like a rainy day."

"Finished as it's ever gonna be." Gale said, ears twitching as he continued to listen to the orchestral and celtic music in his headphones.

The pup grinned and opened the door, tail wagging a mile and minute. "MAAAARK!" She called out with a puppy grin on her stubby muzzle.
Lidiya smiled. "It's nice." she said. "Can't say I share your point of view though." She snorted - rather against the idea of the sun coming out - especially if it was going to 'stay'.

Mark cringed. Oh god, now he had to play with her again! How he hated children. ... And dogs. 'Specially black ones.

He looked over his shoulder - his coat and hat dumped underneath a work bench, ontop of which sat a small metallic contraption, about 6 inches high and a foot across, with four little wheels on it. This room was messier than the rest of the house - the walls unpolished and the floor bare rock rather than marble tiles.
"Whatcha doin'?" Katrina grinned, walking over to him and trying to peek at what he was doing.

"Meh." Gale shrugged, more poems he had completed since she had watched him yesterday scattered about the small pages as well. None of them had titles or were wrote neatly on the lines, but if you turned the book certain ways you could still read it.

"Planting trees early in spring,
we make a place for birds to sing
in time to come. How do we know?
They are singing here now.
There is no other guarantee
that singing will ever be."
"Fiddling with my robot." He stated - patting the metal box with wheels and some sort of camera-type lense poking out of the front of it.

Lidiya shuffled up behind Gale to get a close look (not that she needed to, really). "Hm... Think thwe one about the rain is my favourite." She said.
"I hate that one." Gale said bluntly, only one other poem on the pages he held open in his lap.

"We never thought this day would come,
But it's finally here at last,
What once was our bright future,
Is now are dim-lit past,
But we hold onto the memories,
The lessons that we learned,
The pathways we have traveled down,
The corners that we turned,
And soon we say our sad goodbyes,
That will last us forever,
We may see each other again,
Maybe once or maybe never,
So make your goodbyes ones to remember,
The kind that will stay in their heads,
Those are the goodbyes they will treasure,
The ones that were sad to be said."

"Ouuu, can it talk yet?" Katrina walked up to the edge of the workbench and peeked up at the strange looking device. She had seen the ones in Aekea that talked and did chores for people, though they looked a lot more... pretty, I guess was the word?
Mark laughed. "No." He said. "I haven't exactly been working on it for long. Right now all it can do is follow you around pointlessly." He lowered the machine onto the floor and pressed a button on its back end. It beeped, and then drove itself towards the first person it saw: Katrina.

It stopped just over 2 feet from her.

The Vampiress read the rather lengthy poem, and then blinked. "What's that one about?" She asked, pointing it out.
Katrina watched it move towards her. "Eee!" She took a few steps back, seeing if it would follow.

The feline looked at the one she pointed at. "Eh, I dunno. Just something I came up with last night." He shut the tiny book and then shoved it into his bag before pulling out his headphones and shoving them into it as well, making sure the music was off.
"No deep, inner turmoil then?" She asked with a smile, quietly delving into his thoughts a tiny bit to see whether his answer was truthful or not.

Just as it was programmed to, Mark's robot followed - stopping again at the same distance from her.
"Not really, no." Gale answer plainly, his answer truthful.

Meanwhile Katrina ran about the storage room away from the robot, laughing like an idiot.
: And, no surprises, the robot followed. Mark stood back, atleast happy to see that the thing worked as it was supposed to.

"Good, good." Lidiya nodded. "Anything I can do to entertain you now?" She asked with a smile. She liked Gale.
After awhile of chasing and running the pup huffed and stopped near the workbench, falling back on her rear. "Does it do anything else?" She asked, looking up at him.

Gale simply shrugged. "I dunno." He looked at her, yellow eyes glowing in the dim light.

AltHumphro: "Not yet, no." Mark shook his head. "I'm still working on it." He walked up behind the bot and bent down, flicking its switch to turn it off before picking it up and taking it back to the work bench.

Lidiya smiled down at the cat-boy, gazing into his glowing golden eyes. She grinned, giving a little giggle. "You're such a cutie, you know." She smirked, tickling under his chin.
"Why ya makin' a robot?" Katrina asked, full of questions.

The feline blushed slightly, though it remained hidden under his black fur. He couldn't stop himself from purring on impulse even though he turned his head away and gave her a weird look, rubbing at where she had tickled. "Stop it."
Mark shrugged. "Boredom I guess. Not much else for me to do." And indeed, there wasn't. Any form of 'job' was rather pointless as far as he was concerned - Lidiya was a wealthy woman who supported herself on via her kinky service to others and her investments various stocks and shares. Ofcourse, her wealth on Gaia was nothing compared to what it was on earth, but recently she had been considering returning to earth just to buy more gold bullion. ... Even though she didn't need it.

The Vampiress herself was at this moment enjoying her interactions with Gale. She giggled. "Stop? I heard a purr or two there." She smirked.

"C'mon." She said, holding her arms out. "Let me give you a hug. Furries are cuddly."
"You don't go to school or nothin'?" The pup flopped down on her back, pushing up her ushanka so she could see him.

Gale's ears folded back and his tail lashed. "No." He said, voice cracking in the middle of the small word. Ah, puberty. He dropped his feet to the floor, removing them from the chair so he could sit normally.
"I believe I'm a bit too old for that." Mark snorted. "I've already done my school stuff." He returned to his robot, removing its metal shell to fiddle with the internals and reconnect it to his laptop so that he could change its programming.

Lidiya laughed. "Ok." She sighed. "Let the old woman feel lonely." She sulked, pouting at him.

"What's so bad about a hug?"
"Ohhh... you did it at Earth?" Katrina inquired.

"I don't like hugs." He stated simply, watching her. He had never been one for physical contact.
Mark nodded, connecting the two machines. "Yup." He said simply.

Lidiya rested her head in her hand, leaning on the table. "Why not?" she asked. "They're nice."
"Whats school like there?" She asked.

Gale shrugged, still giving her a weird look as he folded his arms over his chest. "I just don't like them."
"It sucks." Mark snorted, not needing to think about that answer atall. "Still, you have to do it."

The redhead smiled. "And when was the last time you had one?" She asked.
"Like... HAVE to? Or you get in trouble?"

"Couple days ago." Gale replied.
"You get in trouble if you don't, and it's a good idea to do it anyway." Mark shrugged as he began typing more code into the machine.

Lidiya smiled. "From mumsy?" She asked. "How come she gets a hug and I don't?"
: Katrina pondered this a moment before putting in her own two cents, raising her toes in the air to grab them with her chubby fingers. "I don't like school."

"Mom hugged me, I didn't exactly hug her back." The feline retorted.
: "Most people don't." Mark shrugged. What was new? Nothing there, that was for sure.

Lidiya tutted, shaking her head and standing up. "Dear me." She sighed. "Oh well. Drink?" She wasked looking down at him over her shoulder.
: "Sure." Gale shrugged, before adding. "What's for dinner?"
: "I dunno." The redhead shrugged. "I hadn't thought about that yet. What do you fancy?" She opened the fridge before pulling out a bottle of fizzing brown liquid, commonly reffered to as 'coke'.

"This ok?"
"Yeah that's fine." Gale leaned over and took it from her, his reach a couple of inches longer then the average 14-year-old. "And I don't care, really." He shrugged and popped open the bottle.
Lidiya smiled down at him. "You're growing nice and tall aren't you?" she smiled. "You'll be as tall as me if you keep it up - maybe even taller."

She grinned, standing over him.
: The anthro shrugged again. He knew he was just now begining to hit puberty - it wouldn't be long until he hit a growth spurt. "How tall are you?"
: "Six feet." The redhead replied. "I suppose was about five-foot-four at your 'age'." She said, recalling the joy with which her mother measured her height against the wall in the kitchen and drew a line on it for all to see.

...She had been less pleased with the money she'd had to spend on new clothes though. Especially bras.
Kitatapoo: "I'm five-foot-three." Gale said, sipping his coke.

Katrina sat up on the floor, looking towards the door. "I'm hungry." She said suddenly.
: "Mistress will be doing something to eat in a moment. Go tell her what you want before she starts cooking." Mark suggested - seeing an opportunity to get rid of her so that he could work in peace - that and he knew Lidiya would appreciate her company a lot more than he did.

The redhead smiled. "See? Soon you'll be big and tallllll." She said.
: "Whoo." The young teen said unenthusiastically.

"Okay!" Katrina got up and made her way out of the storage room before going back into the kitchen. "Lidiyaaa~ I'm hungry."
: Lidiya looked down at the tiny pup and smiled - Katrina being no taller than her mid thigh. ...Awww!

"Well, what would you like to eat then?" She asked, smiling.
: "Meat!" The pup grinned, her tail wagging.
: Lidiya rolled her eyes. "Ok." She sighed. Christ, was that the only thing she ever ate? Whatever. She opened the fridge and stared into it for a moment.

"Ham and cheese sandwich? Meat and 'tater pie? Venison burgers?" She looked at both of the anthros together.
: "Pie!" Katrina grinned. Though of course being mostly a carnivore, eating meat so much was expected.

"I'll make myself a ham and cheese." The feline said, standing.
: Lidiya shrugged. "Ok." He said, then looked at Gale. "I can do it for you if you like." She said. "It's no problem."

She took the pie from the fridge, and set about carefully removing it from its foil basin.
: "Nah, I got it." Gale said as he walked over to the fridge and got everything out - being familiar enough with the layout of the house now that he knew where most things were.
: "Alright." The redhead smiled, happy to let Gale do it himself - even if she did like the opportunity to help whenever she could. She set the pie down on a plate, and poked the top a few times with a fork, before placing it carefully into the microwave and turning it on.

She looked down at Katrina. "There." She smiled. "Do I get a hug? Gale wouldn't give me one."
: "Yes." Katrina grinned and held up her arms, tail wagging. Gale rolled his eyes.
: "Yey!" Lidiya squealed, reaching down and scooping up the little pup, twirling her around once before hugging her to huge bust and petting the back of her head.

"Pff." Lidiy scoffed. "What's that look for?" She asked, looking over at the feline.
: "Nothing." The feline said.

Wagging her tail she hugged the vampiress back the best she could.

[A Present From Akilah]

Although neither Kitara or Rabid celebrated Christmas, they were not so blind to the holiday to not allow their adopted children to participate and have fun.

A small tree had been decorated and was set up in the living room, but not many presents were under it. Like always, the winter season was a rather difficult time of the year for Kitara and her family for the sole reason that the necromancer could rarely go outside or to work. Being undead left her with a rather daunting problem in the winter - her body freezing like a statue if she stood out in the blistering cold long enough.

As Katrina play in her room there was a knock on the door. Kitara blinked and got up from her position on the couch to answer it. On the other side was a bundled post worker holding a green box with a red bow ontop.

"Are you Katrina Von Tassel?"

"No, I'm her mother."

"Ah, sign here please." The man handed her over a clipboard, which she promptly signed and handed back to him, the box being passed to her afterwards. "Merry Christmas." He smiled passed his scarf before walking off through the accumilated snow.

"... Yeah. You too." The demoness said, the fleeting thought to invite him in for something hot to drink passing her mind. But no, he was working and probably didn't want to be interupted. Crimson gaze watched him go before she let out a sigh and closed the door.

"KATRINA! YOU'VE GOT A PACKAGE!" She called out and before long, the pup was barreling down the stairs in a flurry of black and white. "It looks like it's from Akilah." She smiled and handed the box over.

"Cool!" The pup grinned and was about to tear the bow off before she was stopped.

"You should wait until Christmas to open it, hun."

"Awww... okay." The black pup pouted and set the box under the Christmas tree. Now that she was getting a little older, it seemed she was becoming a lot more obediant and less questioning to her caretakers - an odd turn from the screaming toddler she used to be.

"But I know what we can do. Wanna go out and get something for him?" Kitara smiled down at her.

"YEAH!" Katrina grinned, her tail wagging a mile a minute.

"Alright, go get bundled up and we'll head out."

Journal Entry #2
Jeeze, it's about time I got my own journal. Ah well, who cares right? Things have been SOOOOO boring lately. I mean, I still go to school and do homework and everything but how fun is that?! Not at all! I've been trying to think up something to do, y'know... a hobby to get myself interested in, but it seems like everything I try I'm not cut out for.

My weight is an issue again. Ugh, why can't they just leave it alone? So I'm not a stick, big deal! It still hurts though, that I can't do the same things other kids do. I just can't run as fast and I get tired. Mom says I should diet, but screw that.

I wanna do a sport, but what? I can't run in baseball or soccer... so whats left?

Journal Entry #3
DUDE! I found the BEST SPORT EVER. Ever heard of hockey? Yeah, it kicks BUTT! I can't believe I never thought of it! Probably because my mom can't even stay in the arena long enough before she can't move. But oh well, it's awesome! I'm not all that graceful on the ice, so they stuck me in the goal and I was a NATURAL! You don't have to move much and all you do is block the puck! (Which I rock at, if I do say so myself.)

I really want to join a team, but I don't know any girls teams around here. Mom says I gotta practice more anyway. I'm taking lessons once a week now. Hopefully I'll be good in a month or something... can't be that hard, right?
