Kaito sipped at his tea, closing his eyes as the warm liquid passed through his throat again. Gin's answer made him choke slightly as he had answered it with no hesitation and some hope. Slowly, he turned his eyes towards the spirit and studied his face, trying to distinguish if there were any lies in his face that would give his words away. When no sign was shown, Kaito's face went into a pretty pink blush. He swallowed at his hot face, trying to ignore it and finding it rather hard to do so since the source of his blush was sitting so close to him. Why he blushed exactly was beyond Kaito. If Gin was easy to satisfy, then why were his wives not here still? Why had he become so lonely? The question about taking eternal life startled Kaito, causing him to purse his lips in thought. To take immortality was something that struck his lungs and caused his breath to escape him. Was it something that you could offer so easily? Kaito grew frustrated at his uncertainty, almost sure that such emotions were becoming expressed on his face.

"If I was given eternal life," Kaito started, biting his lip. His face was heating up again, "You wouldn't be lonely anymore?" He glanced up at Gin, looking hopeful. He had no reason to long for eternal life. It is a cycle to live and to die and to be reborn to live and die again. Why was he so special to break this cycle? At this thought, Kaito looked away, silently wishing that he had not spoken at all. If he were to have stayed quiet, what would happen? He would still be sipping at his tea, but would wish that he was home again. He would die slowly as he longed for home. Speaking made it better; being with Gin made it better. Although he had ears and a tail, the fox was beautiful, much more beautiful than any woman that Kaito had laid his eyes on. He was becoming attached and attracted to the other male, even though it was only the first day. If this were something more than attraction, it could be lust or love. Sipping on his tea, Kaito hoped it were more of the second than the first. Being the first, the spirit would eventually grow tired of him and discard him like his other brides.

"If it keeps you from being lonely, I will take eternal life to be with you." Kaito concluded fianlly, relieving his mind of his thoughts. "I am not doing this out of slefishness, I can assure that much to you. I honestly have no desire to live forever.. Once I have come to love you, I am sure I will not want to part from your side."

Gingitsune gave a small smile, amused by Kaito's flustered expressions. What an interesting little human. He wondered if his question was bothersome until he heard Kaito finally speak. His answer wasn't what he expected, but he wasn't sure what he expected either. "No, I wouldn't." He replied, seeing the new expression on the charming face. "How kind of you to say such things." Gin mentioned, even if he felt as if he was forcing the idea onto the boy. "And you are still so young... How young are you? Some of those families pressure their youngest, just children, to me. I would hope, this is not your case. No, you have a small wish, and I can grant it in due time." Gin's humble smile soon faded as his ears twitched. He looked away from Kaito before standing. Leaving him there, the fox walked toward the doorway, looking out to see another human by the shrine's torii, bowing and praying before standing to take his leave.

Gin's tails swung back and forth slowly before he left without word, walking toward the steps and descending where the human had placed an offering of wrapped fried tofu. The fox's tails wagged happily as he bent down to pick up the wrapped food, quietly taking his time to get back. Re-entering the temple, he slid the doors shut before heading to take his seat in front of Kaito. "Would you like some? They're inari-zushi," Gin stated happily as he unwrapped the offering, tails still twitching and flailing excitedly. Taking one, he bit into it, tails and ears twitching in delight.

Kaito opened his mouth to answer the fox's spirit, but something seemed to have distracted the spirit. Closing his mouth and remaining silent, the boy watched the fox leave. He looked around at the interior and realized that his heart felt heavy and his stomach had gone stiff. There was no sound besdies nature and it was slightly maddening in the brief moments where the fox was gone. Kaito was lonely, and he had only been sitting for a mere second. As Gin stepped over the threshold, he sat up almost instantly and sent a small smile at the fox. He was offered the food, but only watched the other's tail and ears flicker and twitch. Kaito began to chuckle, letting those build to laughter. Again, he covered his smile by placing the back of his hands to his lips; though, it didn't do much to hide his laughter when his hand moved and exposed his mouth. Eventually, the laughter died down, and Kaito's hand went back to his lap, a smile still resting on his face.

"Your ears and tail are twitching," He explained, resisting the desire to reach out and touch the ears and pet the tails, "The look on your face reminds me of a child at his first festival."/ He let out one more portion of laughter, still disguising it with the back of his hand. It was humorous to him to see the fox act so human-like. Perhaps gods and animals and humans are the same. There is no boundary or distinction when it comes to heart. At this thought, Kaito was happy. If Gin was able to be 'human' around him, he would come to love him. Why he was so keen on falling for the spirit was beyond Kaito, though he did not mind thinking this way.

Gin smiled hapilly as he finished the piece of food. He looked up to Kaito as he spoke, blinking absentmindedly. Pouting slightly, the fox muttered, "And what exactly are you laughing at?" returning to a gentle smile, he took Kaito's hand from his face, kissing it lightly. "Im glad I've seen you smile like this." Gin added. "I'm sorry, I've gotten distracted. What were we talking about before I left?" he asked, still holding Kaito's Gand as he took another inari-zushi.

It felt nice to see the boy smile like that, and warmed his heart to hear his charming laugh. Icy eyes examined the happy face, making him chuckle. "You're very cute when you look like that, my bride. Will you smile for me, like this, always?" Gin released his bride's hand to cup his cheek, stroking soft lips with his thumb. "Your happiness is important..." The fox smiled warmly, flirting innocently. His heart actually skipped a beat with the sweet laughter the other made. He wondered if Kaito could really be the next human in his heart. He's held his previous brides whom survived for months or even a year, but his heart was broken and gave them the worse death. He strongly hoped Kaito would not hurt him.

Kaito went a bit pink as Gin pressed his lips to his hand. It was a simple form of affection, but it made his heart skip a beat and his face become warm. He blinked at the fox's question, trying to remember himself. When he remembered the previous topic, he was asked another question, and this one nearly made him stop breathing. It was odd being so comfortable with a man - with a god. Kaito had first agreed to himself that he would die before he became the fox's bride, yet, here he was sitting and laughing with the spirit. He was comfortable in Gin's presence, and he did not fear or despise anything about the situation.

As Gingistune's thumb stroked his lips, Kaito's mouth parted slightly. His stomach fluttered and he nodded absently. "Of course." He promised. Although he would not speak unless spoken to, Kaito promised he'd at least smile for his husband. If it was the smallest thing, he would make Gin happy. Kaito hoped that he would be the one to bring the fox company, and keep him from being lonely. Of course, he would miss the company of other people, but if he fell for the spirit, then he was sure he wouldn't mind being alone with the other man.

The fox smiled sincerely to Kaito before sliding the food to the side, finishing off his tea, and crawling closer to the young man. Sighing, he wiped his eyes from tiredness. "It appears out of sheer laziness over the years, my energy is very low. Take food now or the foxes at night can come to help themselves. It is still day out, but let me show you your room."
With that said, Gingitsune stood slowly before smoothing out his kimono. He pulled Kaito up, forcing him up but without being too harsh, and wrapped his arm around Kaito's waist to pull him along. Gin quietly lead him down the hall where many rooms had been shut away. Stopping by one, the paper door decorated in light watercolour paintings of scenery, he slid it open. In the center of the room, against the wall, was a fairly large foreign bed with western European embroidery designs and headboard. The rest of the room was quite dull, like the rest of the home, but a few paintings hung in the walls. "You may stay here, Kaito." Gin said briefly. "But for now, if you'll excuse an old fox, I need to sleep. I would hope I can stay up longer tomorrow. It's been quite a while since I had to actually use energy for something other than sleep..." He said jokingly. "You don't have to sleep now; you can join me outside or explore as long as you're careful."  He sighed and pulled his arm away from Kaito, leaning close to him. Touching their cheeks together, Gin whispered, "Goodnight..."

The fox, fatigued, slid past Kaito without word, heading back into the main room. He stepped past all the things they left at the floor and slid open the front door, sitting outside against the wall. He sighed, closing his eyes as he left the door open. The smell of the inari-zushi would attract other foxes, he was sure. Although he saved humans many times before, he was quite a lazy creature, too. Gin slowed his breathing to help him fall asleep quicker, but he seemed to not be able to. Only sit still, enjoying cool air. Perhaps when the cold night comes he could transform into his old shape and sleep in the bed with Kaito.

Silently, and without protest at the touching, Kaito followed Gin. He was a bit disappointed that the fox was going to sleep so early in the day; he wanted to speak with him more. Ah, that was out of character. Usually, the boy never spoke a word beyond simple phrases or single words, unless he was ordered to do otherwise. He felt that, being the eldest, the head of the family shouldn't speak much more than was needed. Perhaps it was because his father had never spoken much to him besides 'what was needed'.

The inside of the room amazed Kaito, but he wished for something simpler: a plain mat upon the floor with something to keep him warm at night, preferably. He would not speak in protest, however, afraid that there would be punishment. As their cheeks touched, Kaito felt his face heat up once more. He would have said something in response, but the fox left without another word.

"Goodnight," Kaito mumbled once the fox was completely out of view. Turning to the western-styled room, he puffed out a quick sigh and stared around. What was he to do in the meantime? Scrunching his nose at an idea, Kaito moved out of his room and back towards the main room to clean the mess. He'd do woman things: cleaning, for starters.

Reluctantly opening his eyes, Gin sighed. He felt so tired, restless, but he couldn't get to sleep. Was it because it was so early? His ears twitched, hearing the padding of Kaito's feet in the room. He tried to keep quiet; he at least needed to replenish the energy he wasted on useless tasks and hibernation. He had the urge to move, to stand and perhaps run all around no matter how tired he felt. Holding his tails tightly, they twitched. Maybe getting up and about would perhaps tire him out more, enough to sleep. As his body faintly glowed, he morphed into his small fox form. Brilliant blue eyes stood out from fluffy white fur. Taking tiny, and speedy steps inside, the fox pitter-pattered in the home. Gin sat for a moment, knawing at an itch on his side before standing again to look for and follow his bride around. He reached his snout out to lick the boy's hand when he came across him as a simple greeting before laying down on the floor to rest his head on his paws. His tails, all in one bundle, wrapped around his body.

The spirit was uncomfortable; so he stood again and went off down the hall. Jumping in the bed he gave to Kaito, Gin sat at the edge, curling up for no more than a few minutes. Huffing, the white fox hopped off, going back down the hall and laid under a small table. Whining, he crawled from underneath it and found a nice corner of wall. Laying there, curled up tightly, Gin finally felt settled, closing his eyes to rest.

His tails spil apart to blanket himself. Sighing in comfort, he finally was able to rest. Unable to concentrate while unconscious, Gingitsune had illuminated faintly as he turned back into his main form; his 'human' form. He enjoyed the cool feeling of the floor under him. He was still curled up, and hus arms were crossed in a way it looked like he was hugging himself. Perhaps he looked cold but it was a normal position to sleep in, to him. Taking a deep breath in his sleep, Gin couldn't get his dreaming mind off of the subject of his new bride. Although, it was nice to dream about something after blank hibernation, especially someone like Kaito. The fox lightly snored as he breathed quietly through his mouth, keeping still in his sleep.

At first, Kaito wasn't sure where everything in the house belonged or was found, so he spent several minutes looking at the house from where he sat in the main room. He stood with the kettle and tea set, knowing that they belonged outside, and went towards the door. As he moved, a small white fox licked his hand, causing the boy to jump slightly. Figuring that it was his husband, the eighteen year-old merely shrugged it off and set the tea set down where he had found it. He was careful where he stepped, as Gin had told him to be, for the fog was still in its place and he did not want to trip and break the set: that may put him in a bad situation with the spirit.

After a few seconds of easy breathing and thoughts, Kaito had decided that he would explore the woods. He hoped that he would find some small creatures to befriend, or maybe find some flowers to decorate the interior of the house so that it wouldn't seem as bland. Again, the walk was slow and his steps were carefully taken, but this time, it was so he could take in the area and remember where everything was. There was a small patch of mushrooms, but those didn't seem very edible, nor were they attractive to the eyes. Although lovely and wide, the forest did not appeal to Kaito. He felt at ease, but there seemed to be some heaviness that he felt. He wasn't sure exactly what, but there was something that was troubling him, and that he knew for sure.

The uneasiness became too much and the boy felt unsafe outside of the boundaries of his new home. Swiftly, he made his way back into the house. He entered, sliding the front close, and spotted Gin sleeping peacefully on the floor. A small smile came across Kaito's face and he moved towards his husband. He knelt beside him and set a finger underneath the spirit's nose, testing his breathing. He was asleep and Kaito would not stir him. Oddly enough, he seemed comfortable on the floor. Deciding for himself that he was tired, Kaito went into his room and lay himself on the bed. He was not tired, but he felt that his body was stressed and needed some rest.

Gin slept soundly until early early morning, as the sun was barely rising. Stretching, he took a deep breath abd sat up in the corner. The fox spirit stood from his spot and quietly walked out from the temple, descending the steps. Gin veered off the path himself to find another body of water, filled with fish. Able to capture a few fish, he also gathered more exotic fruits. Taking them to the small spring, he brought tea along with him back into the home. Gingitsune set everyhing on the small table, preparing the fish before lightly cooking them, cutting them into small pieces. Gathering the unnecessary parts, he placed them in a bowl and set them outside. Preparing bowls of rice with it all, he covered each item to keep them from getting too cold.

The fox smiled to himself and walked down the hall, entering a room filled with clothes and accessories fit for royalty. Picking out a few furisode of various colours and designs, Gingitsune silently snuck into Kaito's room, neatly placing them at the bedside. He smiled, and headed back to the main room, sitting quietly as he ate some fruit. Gin removed his haori, folding it and setting it down. Various items of different purposes were tied to his obi. Removing most of them, he set them on top of the lightweight kimono-jacket. Using an ivory comb and untying his hair, he lightly brushed his hair and groomed his tails.

Kaito stirred, but did not wake up until his body told him to. It was the usual time that he was up: just before sunrise. Slowly, Kaito moved out of the bed. He took notice to the cloth at the bedside, but not recognition; only glancing at the items and moving along about his business. It wasn't until he had finished rubbing the sleep from his eyes that he found the material. With a soft smile, he looked over the colors and designs, and ran his hands over them. "In return for his kindness, I shall speak and be happy today," Kaito vowed outloud to himself. Without his own comb, he ran his hands through his hair and tugged out any knots and straightened the top so that he appeared presentable. A moments hesitation went by before he picked up his favorite design. It was a soft blue with clouds of white and an occassional dragon hidden among the clouds.

After dressing, Kaito came out into the main room, smiling at his husband. For a moment, he wondered how long Gin had been awake, but pushed that aside as he saw the fruit and breakfast that had been prepared. "Thank you for preparing the meal, but I could have went and gathered something," He said softly, sitting in front of the fox, "I feel that it's my duty to as your bride."

((omg I posted ;w; Sorry for the long wait~ ;T.T ))

Gin's ears perked as he heard the soft patter of footsteps on the floor. He held a stoic expression as he glanced up to see his bride. "Nonsense... My bride is not a servant." He murmured, taking one of the rice bowls and setting it in front of himself and Kaito. "Have whatever you wish," He suggested, his tails loosely draped over his legs and around his waist. He took a piece of fish for himself between his painted nails, swallowing the small piece whole. He, then, picked a pair of chopsticks from the pile of items he had and broke them apart, setting them on the bowl's rim. Gingitsune's bright eyes wandered down the kimono Kaito had chosen and faintly smiled. "You like the colour blue?" He wondered aloud. "It suits you well."

The fox was quiet for a few moments, quietly examining his new bride. "What are your favourite pastimes?" Gin asked suddenly. He hoped to get to know more about the man to be his bride. Gin took his tea but did not drink. He only warmed his hands around the cup, feeling the crisp and cool air. His tails twitched suddenly, making him shiver for a moment. "Ah... Forgive me," The spirit whispered with slim hand gently tugging at his sleeve.

Kaito nodded absently at Gin's comment, but was slightly glad that he had said it. So far, the fox seemed to be a nice being, allowing Kaito freedom and still keeping him close. He took in a deep breath before sitting in front of his husband and taking up his own pair of chopsticks. He broke them in two and set the tip of them to his lips before looking up, surprised at the note Gin had spoken out loud. "You've noticed?" He wet the tips of his chopsticks before reaching for some rice. He paused when he saw that Gin had shivered and immediately stood.

"Do you feel ill?" Kaito asked, worry streaking across his face. He scuffled around the small table and lifted the hair that covered his forehead. Gingerly, he brushed what hairs were covering Gingitsune's forehead and pressed their foreheads together. He closed his eyes and was quiet before pulling away, the look of worry gone and a small, relieved smile on his face. He took in a deep breath before a small red tint crossed his cheeks. "Ah..That was.. Forgive me." Kaito, emabarrassed at the impulse he had just done, bowed his head several times. On the last bow, he refused to lift his head, afraid of what look may be on Gingitsune's face.

Gin eyed Kaito curiously as he stood so suddenly before his blue orbs widened as he tried to sit back as far as he could, already against the wall. Gin sat stiff, watching his bride carefully. His fingertips and tails twitched, his ears flattened back. He relaxed as soon as Kaito had pulled away from him, touching the small design on his forehead. His expression was still alarmed and confused before falling stoic. With a short hesitation, Gingitsune reached out his hand and captured Kaito's chin between his index and thumb nails. Gently pulling Kaito's face, the fox spirit held a serene expression. "You moved so quickly.. Were you really so worried for me...? I don't get sick, but thank you, my bride." The fox's slender digits slid from under Kaito's chin and took up his pair of chopsticks, piercing another fish with them rather than picking it up.

Clearing his throat, he repeated his last statement before taking the fish to his mouth. "What are your favourite pastimes?" Ignoring most other things set out, he delightfully ate mostly fish, but was careful to not be so greedy. His ears twitched at the sound of birds outside the sliding door. Probably eating what he left out earlier. "Painting, writing, music, etcetera..." He murmured, shifting his gaze to the human.

Kaito wet the tips of his chopsticks before taking only a small piece of rice from his bowl. He never ate much, and was too afraid to eat more than he usually did in front of the fox. The question startled him, but not because it was out of the blue. Kaito had never really done anything to pass the time besides worry for his mother and take care of his older silblings. Occasionally, he'd go outside and practice fighting with his brothers, but it was for their benefit. There was truly nothing that Kaito liked to do for his sake, so he answered with a shake of his head, tosseling some hair.

"Walking," He said quietly, reaching for some fish and glancing up at his husband, "Or sleeping. Sleeping relieves all the pressures of life, even if it only be for a moment." There was a soft scurrying noise and he turned to view a bird run in and out of his view from outside the window. He blinked at the animal before taking in another small portion of rice and fish. Would watching animals be a pastime?

"What are your's?" Kaito hesitated before fidgeting in his spot, "My husband.." The last part was added as a sigh and, at this, he set his bowl of rice down and lay his chopsticks across the top. He folded his hands in his lap and looked up to watch Gin eat hsi food.
