Kyo the III its too early to call for a new type of Pokemon. There hasn't been a new type since Johto. You just contradicted yourself?

Albtraum Opfer making a new type would involve making another one to be its counter part. unless it comes from one already done. Why? Why not just make it decent against all? felinoel your multi posts is a slight problem.
And I think a shadow type would be a good addition to the meta gmae, along with the type resistance and strengths it would blow people away, it might crumble the Smogon tier list xD
and of course to counter shadow there must be light right? light will uncover the shadows, while darkness smothers the light, and fighting toughs through the dark but psychic plays mind games on the fighters..... xD off topic there
But a new type hasnt been introduced in either series (Japan mainly since America is behind Japan in Pokemon) yet, til it is introduced in a series (or just planned on, like the Diamond and Pearl games coming out early in the Diamond and Pearl series of America) then we wont see a new type

All it needs is a realistic name and a number of other moves to go with it. Let me think of a few names. Aside from "Shadow type", we have "Phantom type" (though that is probably covered by Ghost types), "Enigma Type", "Space/Spatial type" (Like Deoxys: Not of this world), "Human type" (Nitrox's idea)....and That's All I can come up with that doesn't have a connection to any already existing type. I can't think of a short word for "Manmade" or "Synthetic", although having that be super effective against water would be unrealistic (and it's place is largely taken by Steel types). Anyone else got good name ideas? Clefairy would also get that Space type Manmade thing? Like Porygon and perhaps then adding some robots? ...sort of...But like I said, the Steel Type pretty much covers it in realistic terms, so one of the other choices would have to do. Since everyone is referring to it as the Shadow type, I guess that's the decided name. I'm sure I came up with a few good options, though. And Clefairy+ it's evolutionary line would probably get it if it were called Space type. Porygon, too (Porygon-Z was created for space/other-dimensional exploration). But since we are agreed on Shadow type, many of the Ghost types may get it, or perhaps new pokemon that could be considered Ghost types. We'll just have to see if they do create a new type.

felinoel But porygon isn't a steel type? Perhaps only porygon-z would get the space typing?I think that some sort of type identifying Pokemon from space could be made into the game. I mean Deoxys was from space, Jirachi was...I mean I don't think it is likely but if they really wanted to they could make a bunch of interesting Pokemon themed out of space.
