Osiris' jaw dropped with suprise and shock. Before he could say anything she had run off. He stopped and collapsed to the ground with grief. He blew it, he might have finally found the female he could be himself and travel with and he blew it. She didn't want to be with him. She liked him as a companion but that is it. Osiris took a deep breath, and called out hoping she could hear him, "I am sorry...I won't bother you anymore....sorry that I offended you." He began to walk quickly back the way they had come towards the cave but continued on past it. He didn't know where he was going but he knew he had to get away. Then he began running at a lightning speed, to where, he had no idea but wanted to run until he couldn't run anymore.

She sniffed, frozen in spot, eye closed tightly. The forest grew silent. Was he coming after her?
Slowly, stumbling, Ttangbeol climbed out of the log. She had to apologize. She had to tell him that she didn't know what to think, what to say. Her hesitant steps eventually brought her to the road that they were traveling on. But Osiris was gone.
"Osiris?" she whispered, her heart heavy. She herself could barely hear her call. Ttangbeol's ears were tucked down, her tail no longer in the high joyful position. She slowly turned to go south. To go back home. Maybe one day she'll meet him again at the grove, and then she could fully apologize for what she did.

Osiris had not gone to far down the path. He was worried that something might happen to her if he went to far away. He was sitting underneath a tree near a little cool brook. As a breeze blew by his ear he heard what sounded like Ttangbeol calling out to him. He got up quickly and began heading quickly towards where he had left her. "Ttangbeol? Are you okay?" His heart pounded in his chest, he was afraid of being hurt but also more concerned about how she was feeling and hurting her. Osiris held his breath as he spotted her walking slowly not far ahead down the road. "Ttangbeol!" he called out loudly.

She quickly turned at the call of Osiris's voice. Her eyes began to tear. "I'm so sorry!" she sobbed, as droplets began to splash against the ground. Her voice became sore as she wailed over and over, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry" to Osiris's silhouette. Her tears blurred his image. She shook as she stood, but daring herself not to collapse and further burden Osiris.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" She couldn't bear be closer to him than she was now. She didn't want to hurt him again. She began to take steps back, afraid to confront him.

Osiris felt his heart breaking at the pain Ttangbeol was feeling. He wanted to hold her and tell her everything was going to be okay. But he was afraid that she would run and that he would make things worse. "Don't be sorry Ttangbeol...you were only expressing how you feel..." he took a deep breath before he continued and briefly took a couple small steps forward watching her closely as he did so, "Why don't push aside what happened earlier and take things nice and slow. Lets see how things go. It will be alright, I promise." Osiris had such an urge to hug her and give her comfort but he forced his arms to be pinned to his side.

She breathed in, unable to keep her composure. No, she didn't express how she felt. She was a coward and ran away. Ttangbeol took a few steps back as she saw him inch closer. She felt frozen, unable to run nor brave enough to confront him. "How can you say that? How can you say that after I ran?"
Osiris had expected a family, and she rejected him so coldly and without mercy. How could he ever forgive her? How could he still want her?

Osiris took a deep breath before he began. "I can say that because, I was moving too fast. We had only spent one night together in a cave and spent most of that sleeping. We should spend time getting to know each other better before we make any big decisions." Osiris looked right at Ttangbeol, "I was jumping to conclusions and my thoughts ran away from me, I am truly sorry for that." He stayed where he was and sat down on his haunches. "Can you ever forgive me for what I have put you through? I never meant to hurt you. Osiris quickly sucked in his breath and closed his eyes briefly trying to control his emotions and feelings. He carefully regulated his breathing before opening his eyes to Ttangbeol. "I want you to understand that when I talked about having kits...I didn't mean right now. I am not ready to be a father yet. I want to live a little and explore the world before I settle down and have kits. When I do have kits, that will be my new adventure because I will be raising kits for the first time and there will be many challenges involved in that alone. That will probably be my greatest adventure when I am ready to take on that challenge."

"Don't... don't forgive me..." Her voice when down to quiet sobs, Osiris's words confusing her even more. "I hurt you. I hurt you!" Osiris leaving after she ran was sign of that; he was hurt, he looks hurt. She didn't want to hurt him again. She couldn't make herself believe that she wouldn't.
"I... I..." Ttangbeol grew silent. She had little else to say despite her fury of emotions.

"Look B, we both hurt each other. I want to try and get past this somehow if you are open to it." Osiris was getting frustrated. He was trying to apologize for forcing her to say what she said. He had moved to fast and he was freaking out that he might lose her because he had a moment of stupidity. 'Females...' he said to himself. "I know you hurt me, I am not denying that you hurt me...but I hurt you too." Osiris was getting really frustrated. He was to blame and he was trying responsibility for what he did.

She drowned out her cries. Ttangbeol didn't know what to say or how to explain her confusion to Osiris. "No, no, no!" She shook her head furiously.
Thoughts rushed through her head. She paused to think- to breath. "I'm so sorry, Osiris. I'm so sorry." She looked up, her eyes now clear. "I- I don't trust myself not to hurt you again. I don't want to hurt you again."
Did she love him? Would she be willing to have kits with him?She was too young- and too immature. "I'm not ready... I'm so sorry! I can't be with you, not knowing if I ever will be ready."

"I accept your apology Ttangbeol. Okay? I understand what are you saying..." Osiris cocked his head at her, "I have a suggestion...how about us just be friends? If we stay friends always, then I am happy with that and will treasure our friendship. However, if at some distant point in time that friendship changes in a good or bad way...then we will deal with that when it comes. Okay?" Osiris smiled a crooked smile at her. "Everything will be okay...these things happen...I don't hold it against you,...let's try to make the best of the situation. I am willing to put all of this behind us." After taking a big sigh, he had more thing to say, "If at any time you don't want me around as a friend or anything and want me completely out of your life...then I will do as you wish and leave your life as quickly as I entered it..." It hurt him to say this but he knew it needed to be said. Osiris hoped it never come to that, but he cared about her happiness that he would do it with a smile to the best of his ability.

She felt relief at what Osiris said. She didn't feel pressured. Though the guilt never left her— but she will become his friend one that will be there whenever he needs her so that she can repent.
She slowly nodded, her tears no longer forming. Her eyes stung and her throat was horse. "Okay... okay... Lets... let's go back home. I will be your friend until you no longer want me too." Ttangbeol took in a deep breath and exhaled. The guilt was still there buried in her chest, but she felt free. "Let's go home—back to the grove.

Osiris was glad that she had finally stopped crying and that she was able to calm down. When she cried like that she felt helpless. With a big sigh he agreed, "Alright, lets head back home." As they began walking he was lost in his thoughts as they headed back toward the grove.
(So I know you wanted to breed the foxes at some point, is that still what you intend to do? Or do you want them to be friends. I am looking for a mate for him so I want to know what your plans are in that regard.)
