Batool shook herself once more before smoothing out her fur with her tongue, and didn't turn her attention back to Aella till she was finished. Nodding in response to the question and pup that was presented, the alpha turned and headed upstream towards the rest of the pack.
Her eyes found Resana's form almost immediately, and the black wolf immediately checked the surrounding areas for the male. Once satisfied that she had returned alone, Batool made her way to the front of the pack.
Glancing towards the river as the rest of the pack crossed, Batool noticed the second pup, Spook, crossing the river. She didn't want to have to rescue another pup, and the alpha nodded towards the dark green wolf to help Spook cross.
She would wait until they were all gathered on this side of the river before she headed towards the packlands. /albums/v28/XBear/BettisXL.png[/img]

"It is good to know you, Spook." she said neutrally, her eyes still on Aella, knowing the current would overpower the young one soon.
As the young, auburn-coated pup began floating down stream Ceres steeled her body, ready to slide into the water, but she quickly saw that Batool had the situation under control. It was better this way, for the little one to bond with the alpha early on. It would give the pup a certain form of protection that the others could not supply her with.
"It appears that young one will be a handful for us all." She muttered quietly to Itonami in neither strictly amusement nor annoyance, though if one looked closely they might have seen a hint of a smile twitch momentarily on her lips.
As alpha and pup shared a moment on the rock, Ceres eased her form into the water. Growing up in the North, she'd long become accustomed to arctic temperatures in bodies of water. She found the water of the river a bit chill, but nothing compared to the inherent bite of the mountain streams.
The evergreen female flicked her attentive neon gaze momentarily at Spook as the younger female slid into the water ahead of her and a look across the stream from the alpha confirmed her suspicions. She gave her better a taciturn nod in reply before moving in after Spook to serve as an aid if the younger female would need one in crossing.
Ceres felt the strong current rush over her back as she plowed a few feet deeper into the water, and then her paws left the sticky purchase of the sediment that made up the river's floor. Her strokes were slow and powerful enough, but she didn't bother to fight the current as it eased her slightly downstream. Her body would take the brunt force of the current away from the younger, patterned wolf at her side, preventing her from being swept away.
The shoreline grew closer, and Ceres folded back her ears against a bit of spray from a rocky ledge a few feet upstream.

*Spook nearly gasped as the cold water seeped through her fur, she wasn't even aware of Ceres approaching until she practically had blocked off the raging river current. Her crimson eyes gazed up at the older wolf, while her tiny paws paddled desperately to stay a float. Feeling embarrassed about the whole situation she quickly looked back towards the river bank, trying not to show the obvious, causing her nose to dunk into the water. With a small snort and shake of her head she moved on.
After a few minutes she reached the other side and began to shake and pant, oh how she wished she wasn't so weak, hopefully this pack will strengthen her.. Looking over her shoulder she turned to face Ceres, her head hanging in disappointment of herself, while her tail lay limp from behind her.*
Spook - "T-thank you for your assistance Ceres.. And I apologize for the trouble.."
*Her voice was a mere whisper, as she spoke to the older wolf. Her shoulders slumped while her ears drooped and dripped with water.*

Ceres smiled as she began combing her teeth through the thick wet fur at her haunches that appeared more black than green with the added moisture. "No trouble at all, my dear." She said, her voice taking on a warmer tone than previously. "I did nothing I wouldn't have had to do anyway." Her tones were amiable if not a little brusque. She didn't mean to belittle the other's thanks in any way, but she remembered childhood and how important it had been to learn independence early on. Spook had done well. Crossing the river, even in the lieu of another, was no easy task, and truthfully Ceres had thought she might have to assist the other wolf. She was glad the younger female had made it on her own, proud even. These pack-mates seemed a strong bunch of females, and the notion rose Ceres' spirits. She pulled herself to her feet, bouncing a leap or two forward so that when she shook her long coat neither Spook or the others would be too close in range.

*Spook merely kept quiet, her crimson eyes fixed upon the river, while relief swept over the young pup. To be truthful Spook was not the water type and would normally refuse to go near the stream, if she hadn't been ordered to cross it by her new alpha. She was also relieved that Ceres was there to keep the current weak, for she knew if the older wolf wasn't there she would have never made it across without it having to turn into a situation that Aella had.
Shaking her tiny body she gave another small snort, while water splattered against trees and grass alike, though well out of the way from other wolves.*
Spook - "Thank you.."
*Another 'thank you' was all she could say under her breath, as Ceres shook herself dry. Stretching her paws forward she gave a small yawn, before moving into a small trot to catch up with the rest of the pack, though pausing now and than for Ceres.*

Aella pranced a few steps around Batool, eager to be off. She skiddered among the other wolves, chastising them to hurry up and get in line. It was time to go!
Flopping back up to Batool, she graced the Alpha with her most charming smile and asked, "Is Aella a good Princess?"

((Okay, so my brain is about to pop with school lately, so I appologize for the suckage. XD; ))
Batool gave an appreciative nod towards the green wolf before glancing around the rest of the pack to count heads. Frowning when she came up one less that she should have, the alpha glanced across the river for a moment.
Axiom was still missing, but that was to be expected. Either way, he better have a good explanation, otherwise he'll just end up being a damn good meal for her later.
"Yes, but Aella also has much to learn," the widow mused before turning and immediately taking a few steps Northeast, pausing only to call over her shoulder at the rest, "It is time to go."
She debated scooping up the puppy at her feet and carrying her so that they'd move faster, but Batool quickly decided against it. Instead, she took a pace that was quick, but slow enough for the two smaller ones to keep up with her.

((Okay, I'm going to speed this up a bit since no one is posting and I want to move on with the plot. sweatdrop
And because I'm lazy this is going to be all dictated OOCly like a prompt.
They travelled for several days, stopping and spending the nights under designated watches.
Axiom did catch up, but stayed in the rear to make sure that they weren't followed by the brother or any other unwanted wolves.
The packlands were reached in 2-3 days journey, and Batool led them through one of the open mountain passes before guiding them to the dens.
Descriptions in [OOC] - Information.
Sorry for speeding this along. D: ))

*Spook had walked along quietly along side Ceres, her crimson eyes wandering in every direction, trying to take in every site on there trail to their new home. Her tail hung lowly, while her ears lay propped up in alert, after that male had shown up out of nowhere she figured it was best that she be on alert as well. Not many would be foolish enough to walk into a pack alpha's territory however, unless they were either blood thirsty or simply an arrogant pup.
Though not that she should worry, the older pack member, Batool in general, would probably catch their scent on the dawning winds a mile away. She came to a halt as they came into view of the gorgeous pack lands, her round orbs wide with both admiration and fascination. This land this vast landscape was where they were going to live? It was like a wolfs dream to live somewhere as perfect as this.
She stopped gawking when Ceres spoke up and commented on the view. The ever green wolf also seemed to be captivated by the view as she has been.*
Spook - "I never knew such gorgeous lands existed.."

Much of Aella's early exhuberance had waned in the long trek to the pack lands. She found herself drifting farther and farther behind, spending much of her time in a full body yawn and then a mad dash to catch Batool up.
When everyone finally haulted, the little pup plopped gratefully to her rear, maw open in a jaw-cracking yawn, tongue curled. Her eyelids drooped and her head bobbed as she tried desperately to stay awake. But finally, she succumbed to sleep, tipping over to lean precariously on Batool.
Hopefully, no one would leave the little dear behind.

((Hopefully to jumpstart some RP. D:
PM or AIM me if people want to RP. ;0; ))
Batool indeed didn't let either of the pups, especially Aella, to be left behind. In fact, the rest of the way she allowed her to either ride on the alpha's back or be carried if she were tired. For some reason, the black widow had a soft spot for pups, even if she didn't want to admit it to most strangers.
But these weren't strangers, these were her packmates, and all females.
Except for Axiom that is, but he really didn't count too much. Just a male lackey.
Either way, the alpha made sure that all of her 'sisters' made it to the packlands safely before leaving with Axiom to check the borders and make general rounds of the packlands. Just in case.
