OK. Exposition time.
As best I can discern, the original PYP thread was moved from GD to the Chatterbox because it is, in essence, a hangout thread (HOT) for people posting pictures of themselves. All the other hangout threads were moved from GD some months back, but PYP survived because it was archived, and until recently it was not possible to edit or move archived threads. That has changed, however, and thus PYP was finally moved to the Chatterbox with all the other HOTs. This had nothing to do with the posting of hentai in the thread (though links to the posts in question will allow the perpetrator to be dealt with appropriately), and
everything to do with the fact that PYP should have been moved to the Chatterbox months ago.
The PYP thread may be a community, a "family" if you will, with regulars and familiar faces and stuff. However, such a thread does not belong in GD. If you want your picture-posting online family, free of spammers and such, I am sure you can get the support and funding to set up a GGN guild for it (or even just a thread in the Guilds forum). You get to moderate your own community, talk to your friends, clear up your own spam, look after your own affairs, and so on and so forth.
This is not the mods "bashing on" PYP for whatever reason. This is the mods moving non-GD-suitable threads out of GD,
as should have been done a long time ago. The age of the thread means nothing. Your join date means nothing. Your claim that PYP was "THE most popular thread" in GD is irrelevant (and somewhat doubtful besides), because GD is not for "popular" threads. It is for
discussion threads.
PYP and similar hangout threads do not belong in GD.I will state things as clearly and concisely as I am able, so that everyone may understand:
The original PYP thread was not GD material, and got moved.
This new PYP thread is not GD material, and will be moved.
Any future PYP threads posted in this forum will not be GD material, and will be moved.
If the creators of PYP threads prove persistent or stubborn in posting such threads in GD, they will be warned.
If they do not heed those warnings, they will be banned.
