Seth didn't really need much of a reminder on the Mena thing. He fully planned on sharing the plans with the family-- after there were some. "The beach?" the cheetah questioned, pausing again to dust off the item in his hands. "Certainly sounds like an interesting trip. I would be glad to join if I'm not working at the time." Of course, he had no intention of getting in the water, but it would at least be fun to hang out with some of the others and get some sun.

"There will be bonfires and s'more making and sand castles and all manner of things not actually involving the ocean," Dacj reassured them both. Seth being a waterphobe, and Eli being a tentaclephobe (who thus would not get near the water while she was in it, which she planned to be quite often).
"Sounds like you've been planning it for awhile then," Eli said, glancing over at his sister and immediately regretting it--as he was sitting on the floor, her tentacles as she stood on the bed were directly at eye level. "Maybe I'll ask Kamiko along too."
"The more the merrier~" the kraken said cheerfully.

"And I'll invite Noe and Haevan," the cheetah added in with a smile. It seemed that it was far too few and in between that a lot of the Hytes got together to hang out. Or maybe it just seemed that way to him since he was always busy during the party times. Hm, yes, that was probably the more likely reason. "Should we bring along a frisbee or a volleyball perhaps?" he suggested, trying to think of ways to help out. Perhaps they might even bring some extra food should they go.

"Athletic amusements would be welcome as well," Dacj said, having completely forgotten such things. Maybe because she didn't often play them--either too much potential for injury for her delicate limbs or she'd have an incredibly unfair advantage, also due to her extra limbs. A kraken simply couldn't win.
"The Highlands are all due to grow soon so I figured if we wait until afterward it'll be like a celebration for them," she added, shrugging.
Eli raised an eyebrow. "Sure you want everyone else around for your celebrating with Sor--" He was interrupted by two successive pillows to the face.
"I'm sure we can celebrate privately another time~," Dacj said serenely, catching both pillows easily in her clubs as Eli attempted to throw them back at her.

It was hard not to chuckle at Eli's brotherly jibe to his sister, but he held back to avoid also getting a pillow to the head. "A beach trip celebration sounds like a good plan to me. I'm sure they will appreciate that." He had only been to the beach once himself, but it had been a lot of fun. In a large group he could definitely see the potential for interesting activities.

"I hope so," Dacj said, secretly a bit nervous about the whole affair. It would be her first time acting as a hostess (event organizer?) so if the guests of honor weren't able to enjoy themselves...well, they ought to, and that was that, wasn't it?
"I hear plotting!" Mena said, leaning against the doorframe as she surveyed the motley trio. It was a bittersweet feeling to see Eli packing--sure, it was mostly her idea, but she was his mother, she had the right to feel nostalgia and bitterness about such things! But he'd have Kamiko, and the absolute coolest house she could give him, so she figured he'd be fine. Still, she wanted to slip a few surprises in the almost-full boxes...which meant she'd have to get rid of the kids. She grinned.
"You know, since you all have been so busy today, why don't you take it easy and I'll make a nice dinner?" she said, sounding completely altruistic. She was properly humored to note both Eli and Dacj turned matching shades of pale horror at the offer.
"No, Mom, really, we're fine--"
"You know, we were actually going to get something to eat! Um, pizza!" Dacj, as usual, proved the more resourceful, and Eli had begun shooting Seth 'just follow our lead' looks. Mena stepped back to let them pass in a little line, putting on her best vaguely disappointed look until they had shuffled their way out the door. Chuckling to herself, she went to pack the last of Eli's belongings.
"Dodged a bullet there," Eli said, wiping off his brow as he leaned against the front door. Dacj nodded emphatically.

Seth did not visibly pale as the other two had, but he had certainly felt a small sense of trepidation at the thought of Mena's cooking. He had heard stories. Fortunately, Dacj was able to come up with an excuse for them to get away safely without being rude. "It was nice to see you again, Mena," the cheetah Hyte said in passing as the trio exited the room.
"Perhaps it wouldn't hurt to get out for a bit anyway," Seth suggested. "The clouds look to be clearing anyway. I could drive."

"Better than Dacj driving, that's for sure," Eli muttered under his breath. He could probably handle being in a car with his sister--having to watch her drive was more than he felt comfortable with.
"Let's do it!" Dacj said, oblivious to her brother's mutterings and musings. "I was serious about the pizza."
