With the bright morning light, I realize that today, too, I'm all alone. However, after a shower and some make up, my flushed red eyes and yesterday's tears won't drag me along anymore. Hanabi Aya Garaku "Hiver's Ghost Girl" Nodding her head, she listened to what he had to say, about both the reason she had lingered behind and the heat on her face. Shyness, embarrassment, modesty, and appreciation. Could it have been all of those things? Hanabi wasn't so sure. But then again, why did she have to know? If anything, it felt good to feel her face burn with a combination of the four things. It felt good.
"Mm...I can only remember what a few emotions can do. When I...passed away...I forgot a lot of things. I forgot what some emotions were, and I can only remember bits and pieces of my past life. Most of the time, those memories are really blurry, so I can't see them clearly," she said. Hanabi didn't like admitting that she couldn't remember a lot of things, since she had been really sharp as a human. But then again, she did get hit by a car; that could cause some sort of amnesia.
The ghost girl seemed to feel the warm sensation on her cheeks again. That time, she knew that all four of the things were playing a part in her blush. Still, she couldn't help but hold her hands up to her cheeks. The blush felt...good. In fact, the compliment and the blush made her smile shyly.
"Thank you," she said, her voice coming out just as shy as her smile. It's been a while since someone's complimented her. It gave her a fluttering feeling in her ghostly heart.
"So far, yes. I tried to talk to my family and my friends, but they couldn't hear me. After a while, I gave up, and began to play around. I'd make funny faces in front of people, float through them, give them mystery messages; stuff to creep them out, basically." The girl had a mischievous grin on her face. Hanabi loved a good prank. She remembered a few of the pranks that she would pull with her brother on people they didn't like, and then get a good laugh out of it.
"I guess you're the only one who paid attention? I don't know," she said, giving a shrug. Her grin had reduced itself to a smile, and she watched as he ate his food.

Maybe I am crazy and my mind is trying to deceive me. As the ground vanishes I wonder; will the sky be the next to fail me? Paint abandons canvas. Max listened, raising an eyebrow half way through what she was saying, she couldn't remember? That could have been another problem with her not passing on. "It's like...you hit your head or something. Or amnesia."He muttered, leaning his head on his hand he looked out the window, thinking of things that might have caused her memory to scatter like it had. He glanced over at her, seeing her holding her cheek's again, she was so naive it was silly, but he liked it. He amazed how beautiful she looked with the shy smile on her blushing cheek's, and he covered his mouth, feeling his cheek's blush. Embarrassed by his own thoughts he swallowed and drank some of his tea, finishing off his pasta he chuckled at her antics and nodded.
"Basically what anyone would have done in your situation. Try people you cared for first, then mess around until you caught something, or someone."He said, finishing his tea as well he pulled out his wallet, it had all of his money in it, a few hundred since he couldn't leave it at home. His dad would have taken it and spent it on alcohol. "I wasn't exactly paying attention, I just... heard you. I guess i'm just lucky."He grinned at her and ruffled his hair, placing a tip a $20 on the table and standing up, giving Rose a wave as he left, expecting Hanabi to follow. He glanced around, thinking of which way the apartment would be. He pointed to his right after flipping his umbrella up. "The apartment would be this way right?"He questioned, quirking an eyebrow up. He wouldn't want to get lost.
And my brush can't seem to start again from scratch. As I watch everything unravel, why should I even try to stop the collapse? I won't...

Hanabi Aya Garaku "Hiver's Ghost Girl" She nodded her head once more. Now that she thought about it, she wasn't exactly sure what happened after she was hit by the car. All she did remember was that her body never woke up, and that her "soul" had floated out of her. It was a little creepy, when one thought about it, so she shook her head of all of the thoughts. When she did shake her head, she noticed how he had covered his mouth, and looked away. Was he blushing? Hanabi couldn't tell.
"Well...there's only one thing I remember clearly," she said in a hesitant manner. That one thing had been buried with her, when her body was buried. In fact, they had made sure that she was holding onto it tightly, as if holding onto it would bring her back to life.
As he left the restaurant, Hanabi followed, like he expected. She nodded her head as he pointed in the way of her apartment.
"I'll lead you in the right direction, Maxwell!" she said with a smile. She wasn't exactly sure if she was allowed to give him a nickname yet, since they had barely met. So, she decided to keep on calling him Maxwell, until he gave her permission.

Maybe I am crazy and my mind is trying to deceive me. As the ground vanishes I wonder; will the sky be the next to fail me? Paint abandons canvas. Max followed Hanabi's instructions, glad he knew somewhat which way they were going, he chuckle a little, no-one really called him Maxwell unless he was in trouble. "Hanabi, you know you don't have to call me Maxwell, right? You can if you want, but Max is fine."He didn't really care, it was just something he would have to get used to. He glanced around the area, walking in the right direction he hoped, at least she remembered where the apartment was. "So, what do you remember clearly? Any information could help." The first thing he wanted to try to do was get her to remember more of what she forgot, then they could be closer to figuring out why she didn't pass on.
He didn't want to get rid of her of course but it would be helping her, and he didn't doubt it would take a long time. Missing memories didn't just pop up out of the blue, something had to trigger them, which meant he would have to take her places she did remember, or trigger them by accident, which would be slightly difficult. Not to mention the emotions she was missing. It would be a tough job, but he would enjoy the company while it lasted, and he would be a little brighter being out of his house, hopefully anyway.
And my brush can't seem to start again from scratch. As I watch everything unravel, why should I even try to stop the collapse? I won't...

Hanabi Aya Garaku "Hiver's Ghost Girl" "Oh, okay. You can call me Hana, if you like," she said, giving a smile. She was glad to know that he had given her permission. It was almost like he read her mind that time. A little strange, but then again, Hanabi can be a very easy person to read.
"I remember my viola a lot. I know that my viola was my prized possession. When they buried my body, they had me hold onto it, like this." The girl floated in front of Max, and crossed her arms across her chest, her left hand, palm down, on her right shoulder, and vice versa. The viola was the girl's life. She was hoping to get into college with that instrument, if her smarts weren't good enough.
Hanabi had a feeling that recovering her memories and emotions would be hard and frustrating work, especially for Max. For some reason, the girl wondered why he was choosing to help her. Maybe he was doing it because he felt bad she couldn't rest peacefully; maybe he was doing it because he enjoyed her company. Maybe it was a combination of both. But, there was one thing Hanabi knew: it was the sweetest thing anyone had done for her.

Maybe I am crazy and my mind is trying to deceive me. As the ground vanishes I wonder; will the sky be the next to fail me? Paint abandons canvas. Chuckling a little Max nodded "Hana it is then."He felt a little better, being on regular name basis, he wasn't sure why, it just made him feel better. That and Hana was easier to say than Hanabi, he couldn't place it, but he felt like he had heard the name before, he shrugged it off for the time being though. He rose an eyebrow, a viola? He stifled a laugh at her showing him how they had laid her out and nodded "Well that means they knew how much it meant to you. A viola is kind of like a violin right?"He asked, making a hand gesture like he was playing a violin. He had no idea how to play one but he had seen them being played. His mother had taught him a little on the piano when he was younger and he had practiced but his father had sold his piano. Said that it was a waste of his time to try and learn something like that, so he bought beer with the money he had gotten from it. Good old dad! Despite his fathers arguing he still sang, drew, and played guitar, he said there was no future in it, but he didn't care. He would rather die homeless doing what he loved than die old doing what he hated.
He leaned to his side, looking farther ahead and seeing an apartment building sticking up over the other buildings. "Is that it?"He asked, pointing at it, hoping it was. It was a little farther walking distance but it was close enough to Hiver and the rain was only a little drizzly there. "It looks nice.."He muttered, and someone he didn't know waved at him, which confused him, but he waved back. So random. the same thing happened a little farther up and he looked at Hanabi, a little scared "Why are they so nice? Are they going to kill me in my sleep?"He asked, a hushed whisper, he wasn't used to kindness, it made him think there was something up.
And my brush can't seem to start again from scratch. As I watch everything unravel, why should I even try to stop the collapse? I won't...

Hanabi Aya Garaku "Hiver's Ghost Girl" Hanabi seemed to be doing a lot of nodding today. She smiled, remembering how she could make such beautiful music with the viola. Even though the viola was only meant to help the violin, it was still beautiful to her. Besides, in the viola section of an orchestra, people weren't as competitive. Sure, the entire orchestra may be a family, but when it competitions, violas were the most laidback.
"Yup! The viola is a little bigger, though, and it has the same strings as the cello. And you play it like this." She decided to be a little dramatic, and show him how it was done. When she finished, she went into a giggling fit, and twirled, just to show how happy she had been. While she played viola, her brother had played the violin. He had taught her a few things on the viola, and they would trade instruments every now and then.
"Hai, that's the apartment!" she said, smiling as a few fragmented memories came to mind. While they were walking towards the apartment, Hanabi noticed how scared Max seemed when people waved at him, and she had to stifle her own laughter.
"Everyone in this neighborhood is really nice. They may not have the best things in life, like the people do on the other side, but they appreciate what they've got. And no, they're not going to kill you in your sleep. There are barely any ghosts around here. Just me, and a couple more, if you look real close," she said, hoping that he would calm down a little. It began to make her wonder why he wasn't used to such kindness. It probably had to do with where he came from.

Maybe I am crazy and my mind is trying to deceive me. As the ground vanishes I wonder; will the sky be the next to fail me? Paint abandons canvas. Okay, so he would have to look up Viola's, he wasn't to keen on all instruments. He knew basic ones, but things like Viola's, not as much. He laughed, raising up his free hand "Okay okay, I won't play a viola incorrectly ever again."He joked, he didn't plan on playing one, but if he ever did, he would hold it right. He grinned, cool, the apartment looked nice on the outside, he just hoped he could afford the monthly rent. He had no doubt he would be able to for awhile, but keeping it up was what he worried about, but with effort it shouldn't have been to hard. "A-ah...I'll keep that in mind."He muttered, rubbing the back of his neck and waving at another person as he entered the apartment's information center. There was no one at the desk but he closed the umbrella anyway.
"I guess im just not so used to people being overly kind."He said, tapping a small bell at the front desk and leaning over it to see if anyone was nearby. A girl come from a room off to the left and eyed him before giving him a smile "Hi there, can I help you?" He grinned and nodded. "Yeah, uhm, i've been looking for an apartment, do you have any available."He asked, a little nervous if they would say no but she pulled out a pad of paper and flipped through it, nodding to him "Your in luck, a girl just moved out of hers. 2 bedrooms, a small kitchen, cozy living room and bathroom. Very homey."He gave a sigh of relief "How much is the rent a month?"He asked, anything less than a hundred he could manage "75 a month, that includes electric and plumbing."He thanked god and pulled out his wallet, slipping out $75 and putting it on the counter "You would be a lifesaver if you took this, gave me a key and let me move in right now."The girl laughed out loud but smiled at him. "Your a quick boy, but that sounds good to me. There might be a few boxes outside, but they were left over from the previous owner, don't mind them. Other than that the place is yours to fill with furniture and decorate."She handed him a key and took the money from the counter, having him sign a few papers. Max felt so relieved he could cry, taking the key and thanking the girl one last time before rushing outside, ignoring the rain and throwing his hands up in victory. "Thank god!"He gave Hanabi a smile that lit up his face and if he could have hugged her, he would. He chuckled to himself and went over to the apartment with the correct number, opening the door and looking at the boxes outside, Hanabi's boxes. He picked them up, and grinned back at Hanabi. "Coming in?"
And my brush can't seem to start again from scratch. As I watch everything unravel, why should I even try to stop the collapse? I won't...

Hanabi Aya Garaku "Hiver's Ghost Girl" Hanabi stayed quiet, as she listened to the girl in the front converse with Max. She smiled, when she heard that her information had been right, but something kept tugging at her. A girl just moved out of hers. There were boxes outside of the room. The ghost girl gulped, but kept her happy facade up. She was happy for Max. She was happy that she could help him. When he ran outside into the rain, she laughed, and she, too, could have hugged him.
She followed him as he went into the apartment room, but as they approached, the tugging seemed to grow. Nodding her head, she tried to smile, and followed him inside. The tugging was becoming worse, as she looked around. Glancing at the boxes, she bit her lip, and balled her fists by her sides. Those were her things. This used to be her apartment.
"S-See? I told you that you'd like it!" she said, trying to keep herself from wailing, or doing something of the sort. Every time she looked at the boxes, though, water seemed to flood the back of her eyes, and the tugging would come back. If this is what it felt like to be back in her old apartment, and to feel the presence of her old things, then she would have a lot of acting to do.
"Do you like it?"

Maybe I am crazy and my mind is trying to deceive me. As the ground vanishes I wonder; will the sky be the next to fail me? Paint abandons canvas. He wanted to shout, to tell her how much he loved the apartment, but looking back,Max could see it, written on Hanabi's face, he put up a facade a lot, in front of Dorris. People he didn't know, he knew fake feelings when he saw them. Especially her smile, it didn't hold it's usual sparkle. "Hana..."He set the boxes down near the door on the inside, not wanting them to get wet. He wanted to hug her, but he cursed himself for not being able to do so. "Are you sure it's okay if I live here? I can tell it bother's you."He bit his lip and looked at her things. "As much as I need an apartment, if your no comfortable with it, I can find somewhere else."He didn't want her upset, at all, it just tugged at his heartstrings. "As far as im concerned, this is still your place."If Hanabi stayed with him, then she would be in her apartment, not his, she was still living in a way from his view, so she didn't leave her apartment and it was rightfully hers.
He loved the apartment, of course, he could afford it, it was big enough for him, and he would be able to decorate it, and get away from his dad but that didn't mean he couldn't always find a different one. "Please, don't lie either, I can tell you don't really want to smile right now, tell me what's wrong."What was wrong, that was a stupid question, it was her apartment! They had so easily thrown away her things and cleaned it out! He probably shouldn't have asked now that he thought about it, but he wanted to hear it, she had been smiling the whole time he had known her, what had she really been hiding beneath her smile?
And my brush can't seem to start again from scratch. As I watch everything unravel, why should I even try to stop the collapse? I won't...

Hanabi Aya Garaku "Hiver's Ghost Girl" She looked up at him, and nodded, still trying to smile. It was hard for her to do so. Her lips felt like trembling, her throat felt constricted, and there was water coming from behind her eyes. What it was, she wasn't sure. She was afraid to let that emotion be seen, since she wasn't sure what it was. Whatever it was, it was something that matched what she was feeling.
"Yes, it's alright if you live here. In fact, I wouldn't want you to live anywhere else! This place is perfect for you!" she said, her voice quivering. The expression on his face, and his final statement was enough to crack her.
Suddenly, the water from behind her eyes began to surface, and fall slowly down her cheeks. Her mouth made this pathetic sound, and her nose became runny. Hanabi had to put a hand over her mouth, to keep the sound from coming out, sniffle, even though she didn't want to, and wipe the tears away from her face as quickly as she could.
"W-What's going on? W-Why is there water comin from my eyes? W-Why does it feel like I have a cold? W-Why is my voice cracking?" she asked. She continued to bite her lip, but her efforts failed. She tried to breath, but the pathetic sounds continued to come out. She kept her hand over her mouth, and tried to look away from Max. Hanabi didn't want him to see her in this pathetic state. If anything, she didn't want to be in this pathetic state.
"I-I'm happy for you, don't get me wrong. But I don't know what's wrong, Max, I really don't."

"Hana..."Max sighed, shaking his head at her, he wanted the apartment, but she was crying, and he chewed at his lip. He covered his mouth with his hand, containing himself from trying to hug her, not wanting to make it worse. "Your crying Hana, that happens when your sad, or angry, and even sometimes when your happy."Without thinking he extended his hand to wipe the tears from her eyes, and for a split second, it actually worked and he pulled back, whispering an apology to her. He leaned on the door frame, looking over her. "I'm pretty sure the emotion your crying from now is sadness, but I can't be sure. Just calm down, Hana. Wipe away the tears and take a deep breath."He himself hadn't cried since his funeral, it only made the beatings worse, and was pointless.
He chuckled softly, she had no idea what was wrong but he motioned his head inside. "Come on inside, okay? There's no point for you to stand outside and cry in the rain."He said, a soft smile on his lips, it felt weird to smile, but it was better, he was happy to know he had somewhere to go, and someone to talk to. "We'll figure out what's keeping you from passing on, and why your crying. That,"He looked at her things and grinned "and we'll put your things in a proper place."It made him a little angry they had just cleaned out the place and put her things out in the rain, he was glad there was a little bit of roof to protect it, but it still peeved him.
And my brush can't seem to start again from scratch. As I watch everything unravel, why should I even try to stop the collapse? I won't...

Hanabi Aya Garaku "Hiver's Ghost Girl" Crying. That's what she was doing. And she was doing it out of sadness. Taking his advice, she nodded her head, sniffled a few times, and wiped her tears away. She felt his hand make an attempt to wipe her tears, only to feel it go through her. If she felt cold when she made contact to humans, then humans felt warm when they made contact to her. The presence of his hand still lingered as she took a few deep breaths.
Feeling the blush run up to her cheeks again, she gave a smile and nodded. Hanabi floated to his side, still smiling. He was so sweet. Despite the facade he had put up earlier, it seemed like it was slowly coming down in front of her. She wiped the remainder of her tears, and returned his grin with one of her own.
"Thank you, for everything you're doing," she said. Her voice was still a little shaky, but she had a feeling that she would feel better. Max was making her feel better, and she was hoping that she made him feel better.

Maybe I am crazy and my mind is trying to deceive me. As the ground vanishes I wonder; will the sky be the next to fail me? Paint abandons canvas. Max felt relieved, seeing Hanabi get her smile back and he closed the door, picking up her things from the side of the door her carried them to the small kitchen, placing it on the counter. "You don't need to thank me Hana. I should thank you, if not for you I would still be sitting in the library, without an apartment and as mopey as i've ever been."He sent her a smile and pulled his book out of his hood pocket, glad it wasn't wet and placed it next to Hanabi's things. He took off his sweatshirt and shook his head, damp from the rain. He walked out of the kitchen into the living room and sat down in the middle of the room, looking around, taking in the fact that he would be living here and not home.
"I'll need to get my things..."He muttered, running his fingers through his hair and thinking of how he would do it. His dad would be up right now, so he couldn't do it right away. He could slip away after his father fell asleep at night, and make trips back and forth. He pursed his lips, that would work, he would grab what he needed most first. He stood up, stretching and letting his back pop "Hey, Hana... which room is yours?"The girl had said that there was two bedrooms, he was curious which was hers, he would let her keep it as her own, and he would use the other. He didn't mind, the only thing he could think of to do with another room would be to put recording equipment or paint in it, but he could live without an extra room.
And my brush can't seem to start again from scratch. As I watch everything unravel, why should I even try to stop the collapse? I won't...

With the bright morning light, I realize that today, too, I'm all alone. However, after a shower and some make up, my flushed red eyes and yesterday's tears won't drag me along anymore. Hanabi Aya Garaku "Hiver's Ghost Girl" She couldn't help but smile back. The fact that he was using her age long nickname made her smile, and brought a faint blush to her cheeks. It actually felt nice to be called by her nickname again.
Looking around, her fragmented memories played. She could see herself wrestling with her brother on the ground, her watching anime or a Japanese drama on the TV, doing homework on the coffee table, and a lot more. It took her a little time, before she heard Max ask which room was hers. Smiling, she floated next to the second room.
"My brother and I had to share this room. Crazy, right? But most of the time, I would sleep in on the couch, here in the living room, because of all of the homework we'd get. That, or I was too busy watching anime," she said, giving him a sheepish smile. Hanabi always had to keep herself busy. Otherwise, she would start complaining about how bored she would get.
"You can use it, if you like. I actually liked sleeping here, in the living room. The bathroom was right there, and the kitchen was over there, so I was happy." She giggled at the logic she had used, and continued to float around the house. The extra room, the one she thought Max was going to us, was her mother's room. Thinking, and talking, about her family made her wonder if they were making their offerings, like they were supposed to. The offerings that they made would have to consist of something to eat, along with some incense. The last time Hanabi ate seemed like a century. But, she wasn't really complaining; she was just curious.
