Now this, clearly, is why the Japanese didn't come all the way to the mainland. Even in California, they'd be taking fire from countless gunners, average citizens with rifles and such hidden in their houses. That, my friends, is what is known as a militia.

The army was busy in Europe. In a country without something like the Second Ammendment, the Japanese would have had much less to fear, because they'd have a week or more before we could get half of our forces back to the States.

death angel712 Aakosir Archduke wonderwaffle Aakosir Archduke wonderwaffle A girl shooting since she was eight? That's a little iresponsible but somewhat awesome. How is that irresponsible? She was taught correctly and is obviously damn good at it.I would never give a child a weapon, they may end up seriously hurting someone because the majority of eight year olds don't understand how the world works and would most likely not think much of pointing and pulling the trigger, no matter the what target is. I'm pretty sure she does not own a gun. The article said it was her dad's gun that she got. And in most states you have to be 18 or older the have a gun registered in your name.I thought it was a national law that you needed to be 18 or older. It might be. But the point was that she does not own a gun

First of all, our army wasn't ready to go to Europe, and second, Hitler declared war on us after Japan did. The whole reason he declared war on us was his loyalty to Japan.

Despite this, they did sort of make up for it with the resistance. The only thing the resistance did that really helped was slow down the german forces that were trying to get to the beaches on D-day. Beaches that we wouldn't have had to fight our way onto if the French hadn't failed so epicly to begin with.

However, The resistance played a key role in operation Overlord by gathering information and sabatoging key German outposts, etc.

You're not very good at reading into what someone says, are you? I meant that while we were at war with Germany, Germany was our priority. We were more exposed to Japan than ever at that point, yet all of our gun-owning citizens kept the Japanese scared of attacking. One of Japan's top admirals said that very thing himself.

It wasn't that America had a lot of gun owners, but that Japan simply didn't have the manpower to occupy the mainland United States. While I'm sure our many gun lovers was a factor, it's not what stopped them. Besides, by the time our army was in Europe, our navy dwarfed the Imperial Fleet. They never would have been able to get a significant number of transport ships past us.
