[Ritsuki's Second Medical]

agentgirl112
The brightly colored fae walked through the doors, and slowly walked down the hall. Her walk was currently more of a skip. The teen's feet pushed off the ground, and though she wasn't going very fast, they took her very far. This being tall thing was really neat. As she walked onward towards the desk, she took in the sights. It was just a hallway, but she imagined it as much more. If she was lucky, Shy might let her redecorate this place. It had seemed much bigger and amazing when she was little, but now it seemed kind of small.

This was the place. It was nice to be here after so long. This was where she'd met Shy, where she'd meet Sethos and Donovan for the first time...Actually, she'd met a lot of people here. She'd found out what her powers were. This place was full of great memories -and some not-so-great ones. But both made her smile when she thought back.

A small smile adorned her face. As she looked upon the familiar area, it grew a little larger. Another good thing about being older. She could go places by herself, without Oya having to always be breathing down her neck. As she approached the desk, she looked at the person behind it. Had she been here last time?

"Hello, ma'am."

naeodin
How long had it been? Beth frowned, tilting her head as she stared at the girl in front of her. It was on the tip of her tongue to say something... anything. But the thought kept running out of her mind.

"Welcome to the Zero Three Zero." she said honestly, knowing her as far only because of her ears. "You know where Shy's office is?" she waited for an answer, a verbal one because soon enough she was looking down at the screens before her.

"Actually." she murmured. "Shy isn't in his office. But he's in a public lab, open to other teenage fae." well, that was a bonus. "I can take you there... but it isn't very far." she was clearly unwilling to leave her desk unmanned.

For now.

agentgirl112
"Yes, I've been there before."

Ritsuki let a warm smile cross her face, and she moved a little closer to the desk. The woman seemed to know her job well, even though Ritsuki had never seen her before. Shy, on the other hand, she could tell straight away. She didn't forget faces, so the new woman's image was tucked safely in the back of her mind for later.

She thought about it for a moment. She didn't want to interupt Beth's work -then again, she didn't want to do it to Shy, either- but she didn't really know where the lab was. If she'd gone in there when she was younger, she probably would have broken something. Thus, she never went in.

"If you could point me in the right direction, I'm sure I can find it."

naeodin
Beth nodded, relieved. Getting up and peering to the left, she pointed. "Take the furthest elevator down to the thirtieth floor." at the number, she winced. "Him and his sentimentality... it's actually the fifteen, but he likes that number better. The doors are colored. Red, Black and Yellow and White. Enter the white room. You should see him through the glass case, and he'll know you're there."

As a safety, she tapped a couple of keys on her desk. "I've let him know you're coming as well."

agentgirl112
Ritsuki giggled under her breath. It was funny to hear someone say the fifteenth floor was the thirteenth. But then again, she didn't normally question anything people said or did anymore. She thanked Beth and started walking towards said elevator. It took a few moments of her walk-skiping down the hall, but as the woman had said, the elevator did have a button to the thirteenth floor. Didn't buildings normally skip the thirteenth floor? That was sillier than what Shy had done. It was a little strange that people couldn't figure out that the fourteenth floor was the same as the thirteenth.

She followed the three first doors until she saw the white one. It took her a moment to really see it. She turned the knob quickly to open the door. Of course, she couldn't remember that it was a lab, and Shy would probably need silence to work.

"Shy!"

naeodin
At the sound of the voice, Shy raised a hand automatically to stop her. Staring down at a microscope, he nodded his head, a smirk breaking across his face as he muttered something into the program.

Turning and slipping off the goggles, he brightened.

"Ritsuki!" walking over as quickly as he could, he shed his gloves, stepped out of the safety room and towards her. "You've grown so... and you look happy." he was beaming.

It was about time they came to visit him.

agentgirl112
Ritsuki put her hands across her mouth in order to stop herself from yelling anymore. She tried to see what he was doing, but all she could see was the microscope. And that wasn't exciting in the least -not to her, anyway.

She tried to say something. Only to find that she was still covering her mouth. The words only came out as muffled nonsense. She took both hands off her face, and put them by her sides. A laugh had to escape before she could try to speak again.

"It's so good to see you!"

naeodin
Shy nodded, relaxing. "Noelle has come by already." he commented, meaning no disrespect-- just a slight reminder that she was older, and yet... shaking his head, he placed a hand on the small of her back and led her out another door. "Come, I believe Nora... Beth" he corrected. "Has paged your tutors. But this is time for me and you."

A small room with a large window that looked out into the expanse of snowed land. How this was possible was a slight mystery-- maybe one of the fae had done it? Illusion or not, the room was warm, comfortable.

"How have you been, Ritsuki?" he asked pleasantly. "Your gifts? Any trouble"

agentgirl112
"Oh! Noelle!"

Ritsuki hadn't seen Noelle in a long time. The last time was probably in the castle... And that had just turned out to be very strange. Especially the strange mirror -which she had not figured out. The thing seemed to have a mind of its own, so she had to concentrate very hard to get anything other than her reflection to appear. But when he said something about her tutors, her smile birghtened and her thoughts changed to them. Ferroc and Xang. Funniest. Fae. Ever. The two of them together was funny on its own. They were almost complete opposites.

She allowed Shy to lead her to the room. She glued herself to the window, looking out at the snow. It was amazing what they could do sometimes. She looked back at Shy, her smile dulled slightly.

"I've been all right... My gifts haven't been giving me problems. But-"

She paused for a moment. She trusted Shy, she would tell him.

"-I've been remembering things. And I don't like them."

naeodin
Shy nodded his head, sympathetic in a way a scientist could be with his projects. "I know. They'll start to hit you harder, faster now that you're in your teens. By the time you reach adulthood, you'll have the majority of your memories back. Hard to deal with, I imagine." moving over to a couple of chairs and pouring them both something hot and spicy to drink, he smiled.

"Ferroc and Xang will be able to help you more than ever. But it's more then that, now." he sat down, motioning for her to do the same. "You're older, wiser, with more responsibilities on your shoulders. You'll be given a pass to access certain areas of the lab, and... as a fae, the opportunity to tutor one of the children." he smiled. "The way Ferroc and Xang came to you as teens."

It helped, really, it did.

agentgirl112
"Right now, it seems to be only the really bad ones that are smacking me in the face. But I guess those are the most important ones, so they would probably be the ones to come first. But after this, all the other ones must be nice!" She was still standing next to the window, so that she wouldn't lose her view of the snow. She smiled, and walked towards where Shy had placed the chairs.

"I'm grateful to have their help." She sat down in the chair. She couldn't see the snow as well, but she had to concentrate on him now, anyway. "That'd be fantastic! I could watch over them and help them, and they could learn about history and their powers and we could have ice cream-" She stopped herself. Ice cream was going just a bit too far. She laughed, though. It would be nice to help care for the younger fae.

naeodin
Shy relaxed, laughing as he nodded his head. "Knowing what your powers are, I'll try to assign you to a child who will have similar gifts. This doesn't always work out-- but usually, you can sense something about a child that attracts you... you'll have rooms as well." He watched the young girl, almost a woman but not quite.

She was the first, in his mind.

"We'll work on it together. Rooms, children." his smile deepened. "Somewhere Ferroc and Xang are trying to figure out where I've kidnapped you to... but these dreams. Tell me, Ritsuki." almost a command, but not quite. "What do you remember?"

agentgirl112
Ritsuki had to breathe for a few moments before she was able to speak again. Her final breath let out a short sigh, before making way for words. "I'm sure you'll make the best choice. And if anything does go wrong, will they have a second tutor to go to as well? Like Ferroc and Xang?" She wanted to know, just for knowledge purposes. She was fine working on her own or with another, so it wasn't that big a deal.

"Well..." She looked away for a moment. It was a little painful to remember what she'd seen, but it did come to her. "...I was outside of a village, I think. Probably on top of a hill or a cliff or something of the sort. I was looking down at it, and all the houses were on fire. Then, I heard a voice behind me, so I turned around, and saw someone I knew. He attacked me, and then I woke up. That was the most recent one, and it kept getting longer and longer each time. There are more, but that's definitely the worst."

naeodin
Shy nodded. "Two. Checks and balances." he said simply, and frowned, listening. His look was sympathetic as he reached out and placed a hand on her arm.

"Most fae who have come back to me tell of the same thing. A single memory that keeps growing in the span of dreams. Why I'm not sure. But Ritsuki... if you remember specifics. Names, places, events. I can get you in contact with fae who have existed during the times, and they will be able to help you."

He hoped, at any rate. Death. Why did so many of his fae see death?

agentgirl112
She nodded slowly at his response. Good, she'd have a second teen fae to help her. Her question now was: Who? But she wouldn't ask about that yet. Soon, but not yet.

"It's actually nice to know I'm not the only one. It really doesn't feel normal when you're afraid to sleep. I can't remember the name of the town, or when it happened, but I know who did it. It was a single Unseelie. His name was Noah, and sadly, I know him to be my brother." She wasn't aware of the fact that the others were seeing death and misfortune, too. It was probably because that was what stuck in their minds more than anything else. It was like a leech, one that they couldn't remove no matter how hard they tried.

naeodin
Shy frowned. Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out a small hand held PDA, and nodded. "I'll note this, ask the Unseelie if there is still a Noah among them. It will help, I think. The both of us."

Before he could say anything else, Ferroc and Xang walked into the room, arguing as always.

"I don't know why you couldn't tell us where you were exactly." one snapped out.

"Ritsuki, we missed you. Why didn't you write?" the other sulked.

"We saw you last week... but that's different.

"Has he told you that he's giving you rooms yet? You can be our neighbor!"

Ah, the same, still.

agentgirl112
"Thanks, Shy. Even if they don't, someone might remember him." She smiled brightly, the turned to the door. The two fae she'd spent most of her waking time with had walked in, so her atttention was immediately drawn to them.

"I'm sorry, Ferroc! I know I should have written or called, but everything's been going crazy! I got kidnapped, and then I went to see Donnie and Sethos, and-" She was now waving her arms, trying to plead her case. She had to stop to breathe, though, so there was a momentary lapse in her speech. After a few seconds of deep breathing, she finally began speeking to the other two fae again. "If he would let me, I'd be glad to be!"

naeodin
Ferroc beamed. With a sly wink at Xang, he nodded his head. "It'll be fun. You should have the room on the left. The one on our right is next to this other pair, and they... well. They get loud at night." immediatly Xang jabbed him with his elbow.

It was not good to talk about perverted things in front of her. She was still a girl.

"Ferroc." Shy said, smirking just slightly as he nodded his head. "Please."

Abashed, the man nodded. "Come on then. Shy'll meet us on the other end. He has to run back and find your file, anyways. We can talk. Catch up. To that whole medical stuff." he was beaming as he said this. "And then we can show you your room!"

It was decided, in his mind.

With a frown, Xang shook his head the way a dog shakes water from it's fur. "It'll be harder, I suppose. And we'll be testing your gift too. As well as other things. Like... studies." for a moment, the characteristic frown disappeared as he winked. "Make us proud, okay?"

agentgirl112
Ritsuki smiled and tilted her head to the side. She had no idea what Ferroc was talking about. Maybe those two fae liked to party or possibly play loud music at night. That made about as much sense as what she'd heard. But that didn't explain why Xang had jabbed him. Shy seemed to know, though...

"Okay!" She walked towards her two tutors, then turned and thanked Shy. The medical stuff wasn't as interesting to her as talking to Ferroc and Xang. It didn't come close. She wanted to have meetings with her friends. They were the main reason she'd come, not the medical evaluation. Though that was nice, too. She smiled to Xang. She gave him a thumbs-up. "We'll have to get more lessons in, so we can do more things before I start tutoring a younger fae. I'll do better than my best! I'll have to, if I want to be a good teacher!"

naeodin
Xang snickered as they led her away. Meanwhile, Shy got her folder together (he didn't have to go anywhere... he'd already paged Beth to bring it to him) and was reading through past progress reports.

An hour later, Ferroc and Xang escorted Ritsuki out again.

"See? That was fast." Ferroc said, nodding. "I just have to hand this over... and you need to bring one home to Oya. How is Oya doing, anyways? I hope everything is good."

Xang frowned. She was human. Who really cared what the humans were up to?

agentgirl112
Ritsuki followed her two tutors out. "Oya's great! She's just kind of busy right now doing work and things, so I came by myself." She took the reports, and thought a little about moving in there. It'd be great, but she wouldn't see Oya nearly as much. That was the only part that wasn't really awesome. Everything after that was amazing, perfect even. She could stay right next to Ferroc and Xang, and she'd be able to go places in the lab she'd never even heard of before (but she could do that anyway). She smiled, because now she had something to think about. It was a pretty big decision, and she'd have to decide as soon as she could.

naeodin
Ferroc and Xang smiled. "Can we show her around?" the more amiable of the two asked, noddng towards her form.

Shy nodded, indulgent. "Take her to admin, so that she can get her pass made and we can have her genetic code incoded into the system." he said.

He didn't need to. Immediatly, Ferroc was ushering her out. "Come on, we can show you the rooms! They start off rather plain, but we all get to decorate them."

Xang snorted. "That man made the room froofy." he said, glaring slightly at Ferroc. But the other fae didn't notice the look. "

'And we can show you around, and catch up, and it'll be fun!" the fae beamed.

Yes. Fun.

agentgirl112
Ritsuki looked at Ferroc, then to Shy. She had a small glimmer of hope in her eyes, just like she had when she was younger. Of course, the glimmer turned to a broad smile. She could spend some more time with the two of them, even if it would be only a tour. Though the thought of how they would take her genetic code put a bit of a damper on her good mood. She didn't like needles very much, so hopefully they wouldn't use them.

She giggled. She could just imagine what their room looked like now. "I'm sure you two know this place much better than I do, so I'll be glad to have both of you helping!"

naeodin
Ferroc beamed. "We've got a library, a portal room, recreation centers such as the swimming pool, gym, and stuff. It really works like a hotel." Ferroc smirked. "And we get allowances too. Which is all good, except." with a sliding glance towards Xang, he leaned forewords in whisper. "He doesn't like to go out."

Xang grunted in response. "Humans. They stink up gaia."

Ferroc nodded. "He doesn't quite mean it literally." he explained. "Come on, its through this way." leading the way, they moved through cuts and corners that got more and more hard to keep track of. "It's like an underground town, really. Just for us."

"And meeting rooms, business centers. You'll be working, Ritsuki. But hopefully you'll be paired off with someone you get along with."

Ferroc smiled. "Like the two of us." it was almost a joke. Almost.

agentgirl112
Ritsuki blinked a few times. "This place is even bigger than I thought!" She tried to place the many parts of the building in her mind. It wasn't as easy as she thought. They could be anywhere. She was probably going to need a map. "Wow, even allowances?" She smiled and understood. Xang didn't like going outside. Which explained a lot.

Humans didn't smell that bad, did they? For a few moments, she couldn't understand why they thought that, but Ferroc cleared it up a little. She followed after them, trying to remember all the turns. She gave up after about ten. It was amazing that they knew where they were going -but then again, they'd been navigating those halls for years. So it made sense.

Business centers and meeting rooms. They made her think of executives. She had to laugh at the thought of herself -or any of the fae she knew- in a suit. It fit Sethos, and maybe Donovan as well, but the rest of the fae looked ridiculous. Whether it was supposed to be a joke or not, she laughed.

naeodin
Fang smiled, relaxing at the sound of Ritsuki's laughter. "This is nice." he said, nodding. "We've been tutors, tutees for so long... we're more equal now, I think."

"Until we go through our quest." Xang pointed out. "We'll need to teach you about that too." a funny smile passed his face as he nodded, trying to come into terms with something that he almost (but not quite) understood.

"So, would you like to see your room? Well... one of them? Because you get a choice." Fang was just a little bit shy of nervous.

Shy. Heh.

"You're our first." Xang explained. "To... be like us. To get this. I mean, first we know of really well. Other tutors will be doing this too but..." he scowled. 'It's not the same."

agentgirl112
Ritsuki nodded to Ferroc. She didn't really think as them as equals. They were still her tutors, and they were above her in her mind. She looked at Xang again, wondering what they would have to do for this 'quest' thing. "So I'm going to go on a quest, too? Does everyone?" Someone had probably told her about it before, but by now, she'd forgotten.

"I'd love to! Either one is fine, I'm sure they're both really cool!" Leave it to Ritsuki to be excited about visiting someone's room. She was still smiling.

"It's not the same if you don't know them really well, right?" She grinned back at Xang. "Thanks, I think. I like knowing other fae here, it's nice. Plus I have the best tutors ever!" She laughed.

naeodin
Xang beamed at the best tutors comment, and was distracted enough that it took him a while to respond. "These... quests. Shy doesn't actually know much about it. He thought he just aged, and everything came to us, like the powers? But this involves the courts... we'll be one of the first to go through it too." he winked at that statement.

Leave it to him to wink.

"The courts are in charge of it." Ferroci explained, walking towards one of the rooms. "It involves this grey area, neutral space so that both Seelie and Unseelie fae can go through it. It... apparantly has a mind of its own, and changes, depending on who and what go through. Really, it's a case of survival. Apparantly no one has died from it."

Yet.

The word hung visibly enough between them that Xang swiftly pushed open the closest door. "Room A!" he declared.

It was large, from where they stood. Wide and round with floor to ceilnig windows looking ut into the fields. When had they come above ground? Who knew, really.

agentgirl112
Ritsuki smiled. She silently told them it was true and nodded to herself. "If Shy doesn't know about them, then we'll learn about them for him! Since we're some of the first to do it, we'll be the ones to set the pace for those who come after!" She grinned at them, and kept walking after them.

Neutral space sounded interesting. If it changed when each fae went in, then everything might be different each time. There were so many questions about how it worked and if they could help each other. "All of us are going to make it through, I'm sure."

She blinked a few times, taking in everything. She wanted to remember the room. She would remember it better if she got a good look at the details. Had they gone up stairs? Or had they gone up some kind of ramp? Either way, they were above ground.

Look left, right, then below. No sign of her yet. A bit of Ritsuki's orange hair popped through the leaves. The tree she was hiding in was shady, and it had enough foliage to hide her. Soon, her whole head was sticking out. She took another look around before ducking back into her hiding place. She had much more experience outdoors than Oya, so it was much easier for her to blend in among nature. Even if she was yellow.

A very disgruntled guardian searched for the fae in the tree. There were only so many places she could look before it was time for her to get back to work. This wasn't as funny from her point of view. She'd been looking for a while now, and she didn't think that she'd get much closer than this. With no shoes on, Ritsuki could only get so far.

"You're too old for this, you know," she called to the fae.

"Ah, but I haven't played Hide and Seek in a long time! Just finish this one game, please?" Her voice was definitely coming from her tree, but there were too many of them for Oya to figure out which one she was in unless the girl kept talking. It was unlikely that she'd give away her own position, though. At the moment, she was sitting in the tree silently to make sure Oya didn't hear her again.

Suddenly, Oya spotted orange behind a trunk. It was easy to spot, considering there were green leaves right behind the tuft of brightly colored hair. She quietly walked toward it. [To be finished]
