He released her paw momentarily to speak. "You make me sound like some sort of sicko," he observed, eyebrow quirked. "Let me tell you," he said, pointing one of his toes at her, "that that couldn't be further from the truth, allow me to assure you," he said, head moving back and forth from her yanking.
Instead of going back to the paw, he tried again to get to her ear. It required some amount of additional tug on his ear, but he was willing to sacrifice that. Well, not his whole ear, but the little bit of tug. It wasn't like she was gonna rip it off.
He just got his front teeth on her ear when she pushed back down on him, making it slip from his grasp. Haku's tail flicked back and forth in thought of how to reach it. After all, the lion who is holding an ear is the one currently winning the fight!
"You just want to deprive me of ear-biting. I need that to live you know, it's like water. You'll kill me, and then what'll you do? You'll feel really bad, that's what." He said before settling for trying to bite on her cheek-fur.

"You like it," she repeated releasing his ear once again after his futile attempts at snagging her own ear in his mouth. "Don't care what you say, you secretly enjoy it," she teased him pushing her nose against his cheek before pulling back quickly and snatching up his ear once more.
It seemed like his ears had become her new chew toy. Oh well, it was his fault for letting her get a hold of them in the first place! He'd learn not to let her get the upper hand at all or he'd regret it!(but not really.)
She cocked a brow at him when he went in to a dramatic rant about how he'd die without biting her ear. Hah! Like she was going to buy that! She just gave him a look that said "Uh-huh, riiiiight" and swatted at his face when he tried to n** her cheek.
Nope! Deniiiiiied.

How had he wound up with such a controlling lioness? Did it really matter? Heck, Haku was enjoying this treatment... Zurina knew it, he knew it. "Well... Maybe I'm enjoying it. Just a little though," he said, putting his paws reaaallllly close together, signifying how little his enjoyment was. "Say Zurina, you know what I think?" he said, replacing his paws to the ground and tilting his head a bit towards her, despite the tug on his ear. "I think that it's time to get up," he said simply. He couldn't just let her win like this, he had to put up some form of a fight. After all, as far as Haku knew, he would've been on top still instead of her, if he hadn't let her up. It was time for a little rebellion.
He knew he didn't have strength- Hakuna wasn't a fighter, but he was a dancer. He was lithe, not strong, and he'd have to use his agility to try to get out. One quick burst of speed was all he could muster- both up and forward. He'd be happy to get half-way out, at least to loosen things up. That way, he could make another subsequent move.

While she wasn't overly demanding, most of the time, Zurina had to admit that she was a semi-controlling individual. She liked to be in a position of power so to speak, in this case being on top. She was just glad that Haku was okay with, that he enjoyed it. It made things so much more enjoyable for the black striped female.
When he admitted that she had been right all along she smirked and shook her head at him. "Told you sooo~" she stated in a sing-song tone. She frowned when he told her that it was time to get up. "No!" She protested trying to push him back down. "You're so comfy! I don't want to move," she pouted trying to get his sympathy.
Unfortunately it did her no good as he tried to take her by surprise by springing up and forward. She was knocked off guard and he managed to slither away from her. "No way!" She told him shaking her head before springing towards him in an attempt to get him back down.

“Hey, what fun would it be if I just let you win? If you wanna be on top, you’ve gotta fight to keep it!” he said with a smirk, tail tip twitching. That was true, as far as he was concerned- life would be boring if everyone just gave up as soon as they were defeated. That wasn’t the way life worked, not the way he saw it. Besides, he was coming to think that maybe she quite enjoyed his struggles. She might get him a second time, but not before he got a single nom on her ear- that was all he truly wanted!
The lion swiveled to try his paw at it, only to find that she was already launched at him! “Ah!” he said in surprise, trying to avoid a painful collision. He ducked to the side, ears tucked firmly into his mane, as she… well, landed on him. It wasn’t a complete tackle, but it was enough of one that she’d pin him again before he could recover.
He heaved a heavy sigh, now under her again. “So… You’re pretty good at this, huh?” he asked with a smirk, biting a paw again.
"Ah-ha!" She proclaimed twisting quickly to sit her weight upon him in a way that wouldn't allow him to escape her a second time. She settled her body on top of his and moved a paw so it was settled around his next while the other was settled by his leg to allow her to snap it close to him if he tried to wiggle free. "Of course I am!' She chirped nipping at his ears again.
"I'm good at everything," she teased pressing her nose into his mane, near his neck. "Admit it, you love having me on top of you," she told him with a devilish grin.
She gave him a soft nuzzle before settling her chin on his shoulder. "This is nice, I'm glad I already have a friend here."

Oh man, now she was onto him. He doubted he could get up now without one of two things happening: the first would be her letting him up, and the second: to attempt and hurt someone on accident.
Definitely not worth it. He settled with what he had again. "Well, it was a good run," he said with a smirk as if he had just lost the throne to kingship.
Then again, he supposed he had, in a way. After all… Well, he now was the throne, it seemed. "Oh yeah? I'll bet I could beat you at a dance-off," he said, wondering if she'd take the bait. After all, to dance, he'd need to be let up. There was a chance, and he seriously wouldn't mind a dance-off. Though, it would be difficult, they'd need a judge. Otherwise it would just be "Well, I'm better than you~" Back and forth, he could see it now.
"Well… I wouldn't say that I… dislike it," he said smugly with the nicest smile he could put on.
It had been easy to forget that today was Zurina's first day here- it felt like she had been around forever, he felt so comfortable with her. He blushed under his fur at her nuzzling and his smile softened. "Yeah, me too." To be honest, he only really had a couple of friends and his brother here so far… When he wasn't "working," about half the time he was perfectly on his own. And sure, while everyone wanted some alone time, it could get out of hand. It would be really nice to have her around, to have someone other than his brother to hang out with when the time came.
"We can hang out any time you want," he said, still blushing under his fur from her nuzzling. "I mean, if you've got spare time and you want to, I'll show you which room in the temple is mine later so you can come find me?" He offered before going back to nomming on her paw, it was a more gentle nom though.

"I have to admit, I admire your efforts even if they were in vain," she told him with a small nod. "Well maybe but I doubt it," she replied considering his proposal briefly. She knew how to dance, it was apart of the ceremonies done at her home pride, but she was a much better singer than a dancer.
She didn't know where Haku came from, but she knew he was very confident in his dancing skills. Still, she figured she'd at least humor him. It wouldn't hurt and maybe she's purposely let him win too. For fun.
"Good, because I'm going to visit you all the time," she stated leaning her face into his neck. "Is that okay?"

"I dunno, Zurina," he said to her last question, face serious. "I mean, you're not going to be one of those bad houseguests who break everything when they come over, are you? Or who party so loud that the neighbors complain? Because I can't afford to have bad neighbor relations, considering that they know where I sleep," he said looking up at her, doing his best to keep his face serious. A grin betrayed him, though, as it pulled at the corners of his mouth. It seemed Haku enjoyed joking a bit too much, and seriousness just wasn't typically in his nature. Not even for the sake of a joke.
"If you can assure me that you won't be a problematic visitor, then maybe, maybe I can consider it," he said with a full-out grin. He was really excited, really, to help her settle in. Not to mention, he wouldn't mind hanging out with her- he looked forward to it.

Zurina feigned disappointment by frowning deeply and flattening her ears against her skull. "Oh, well I was going to include you in my partying, neighbors too but since you obviously don't want me over..." She let her voice trail off and her gaze drop to the sand beneath them. She continued to wear her fake frown trying to play the part of a rejected female.
She sighed loudly and as heavily as possible and looked at though she was going to cry. She was trying so hard to play on the dramatics she had been taught to use when relaying stories.
She looked up at him, tear-eyed but with no tears shed, before trying to smile. "I'll do my best to be a good guest?"

Haku stared into her sad, watery eyes, keeping his own steady stare as harsh as he could. She could sure ham it up when she wanted to, it seemed! "Hmmmm," he said, faux-contemplating, tail flicking lightly as it would if he was truly pondering. "Well, I'm not sure I should be so trusting. I mean, if you could be a good guest, sure! Buuuuut I'm not certain you can keep your promise," he said, tilting his head upward, but not breaking eye contact. "I mean, what kind of proof have you given me to believe such a statement?" He asked, as if prompting some sort of collateral or proof that she was capable.
"Though, what fun is life without taking a few risks? I suppose I could take my chances on you, but I sure hope you don't disappoint me with all of your impetuous ways," he concluded with a nod.

"Do you need proof?" She wondered aloud cocking her head to the side with a contemplating frown. "Isn't my fabulous personality good enough for you?" She said furrowing her brow. "Cause I'd trust you to be a good house guest if you said you'd be," she told him with a very serious nod. "You should trust me, specially if we're gonna be best friend," she said very seriously.
She shifted her weight on him to allow herself to setting her chin upon his neck. She inhaled his scent and sighed rather contently. "You'll have to let me nap on you sometime, you're soooooo comfy!"

He looked at her, sensing a change in her tone, and his face softened a bit. "Well, I do suppose your personality is enough to make up for any of your poor-houseguest qualities... By a lot," he told her lightly. "I really do trust you," he said, his voice dropping in tone and turning serious. "Honestly- you can stop by whenever you want... You know, if I'm in. If I'm not, you can stop in too, but you'll be disappointed," he explained. "Besides, you know me- I'd be pathetically alone if you didn't stop in from time to time," he said, switching back to being overly dramatic.
"Oh, trust me- I'm not that comfy," he said, attempting to get out of turning into a warm fuzzy couch. Not that... Well, he didn't particularly mind being a couch. Actually, he rather enjoyed it. But that was besides the point- he couldn't allow himself to be sat on all the time! Right? "But you might be able to convince me to allow such a nap... Perhaps, if you just admitted that I'm the better dancer...?" he said smoothly, a smirk on his muzzle.

Zurina giggled wiggling a bit to get more comfortable as she laid upon her friend. "Good because I'm going to be over all the time," she chimed lifting her head to n** on his ear. "Well I'll just hope you'll be there whenever I do pop by, you'll visit me too right? When I get all settled and everything?" She asked peering down at him doe-eyed.
"Oh, I beg to disagree Haku~" She practically purred as she decided to roll off of him. She kept close though, opting to lay beside him and lean up against him instead of laying on him. "You'd make the best nap spot eeeeever," she giggled looking at him upside down. "Oooh I dunno, I can't do that Haku," she pouted, "you'd have to prove it to me first. I'm a darn good dancer."

"Of course I'll come! You just have to show me where you'll live so that I can stalk you in the middle of the ni-- Er, I mean, visit you. Yes, visit. That's what I'll do," he said in a serious tone, though he was joking. "Besides, the threat of me coming to visit you is the only way to ensure your good houseguest-ness," he stated matter-of-factly, still joking. She rolled off his back and he turned a wary eye to her, before softening his expression again. She was leaning on him now- the spot where she had been laying slowly cooled, but his side was now warming.
He leaned back against her happily. "Well... If you think so. You don't make a half-bad blanket, either... Perhaps it wouldn't be so bad to let you take a nap on me," he admitted with a chuckle. That was true, she would make a good blanket... And really, it's not like she had jabbed at him too much in all of her time sitting on him today. Truthfully, he probably looked forward to it... He'd never admit it, though.
"Fair enough; you're on," he said, never one to turn down a dance-off. His brows furrowed just a bit and he couldn't help but smirk. He had a mental image of her with her jaw in the sand at his dancing- he would be so awesome that she just wouldn't be able to keep her mouth shut. That would be exactly how it would go down! The boy could cheat, at this point... The thought crossed his mind momentarily. She was around, he could see if he could see into the future. There was a chance that, if he tried, he would see her moves, then be able to prepare something sure to one-up Zurina. But he decided that that would be... A low blow. Especially a low blow to his best friend. He would keep his seer abilities out of this.

"Stalking in the middle of the night?" She teased, voice soft as feeling of sleep began to wash over her. "Don't be a creeper, just come and say hi when you're around," she laughed snuggling closer to him as she rested her head on her paws. They had been on quite the adventure today and Zurina was so thankful that she had come to a place that she knew someone at.
She had always enjoyed his company, though this was the first day she had spent her entire day with him. She enjoyed every minute of it, he truly was his best friend. "We make a good pair," she murmured eyes half lidded. "I can take you easy, I was one of the best dancers back home," she told him, full confident in her abilities.
"I bet I can dance circles around you," she challenged.
