He was pretty sure she didn't look 'of course fine'... but in truth he had nothing but waking up to see her sleeping in a chair to base that on. She could in fact, simply be a fidgety kind of person. Then again his impression of distraction and nerves could be because she had a stranger bandaged on her couch.
He was unsure how to feel about the fact she hadn't asked him more questions, who he was, why he was there...what happened. Yet it was also a relief... what the devil would he SAY to that...
"Thank you..." He added in regards to the cinnamon rolls. They smelled amazing and made a sharp recollection for how long it had been since he last ate.

Some words echoed in her mind 'not even human'. It was hard to see Zink as not human, with him sitting on her couch eating cinnamon rolls and sipping tea. Regardless, she'd made her decision to help him and she wasn't going to regret it. To do any less would have made her less human. Brushing off her mental wanderings, Adira tucked into her cinnamon rolls. She loved the things dearly, particularly considering how easy they were to make. The girl always kept them in the fridge. She'd have to start going to more cooking classes, or maybe get Fallon to teach her to cook better at some point. It was sad that she was living alone with no true skill set at cooking. "I'm not sure when you'll feel up to it, but when you do I can get my car to take you to where ever you'd like, Zink. Any address within the city." She looked over at him, locking her silver blue eyes onto his face. "What did happen to you anyways?" She'd been itching to ask, trying to see what his answer would be. Adira knew the truth, for the most part. A senshi had fount him and beat him severely.

That was the awkward he'd been waiting for. Not only the question about what -happened-, but an offer for a lift somewhere. Discomfort crawled over his skin at the intensity of her gaze.
"I'm... probably better off taking myself, 'home'." he said first and carefully trying not to offend her. "Though I appreciate the offer, I would hate to cause further issues if someone saw you 'with' me even for a short time.
He took another sip of his tea trying to find words that might satisfy her. He couldn't just say "Secret shadow army" to a civilian, not when the world was on lock down and Perseus told her where to find him.
"I got into a ... fight." He said hesitantly. "Rather... I was reckless, and over confidant, and rather than being able to reason with my 'opponent' they reasoned with their fists... and their boots... and with a number of other resources at their disposal." There was a bitter edge to his voice at the recollection, though the tag end of the fight was more than a little smudged together.

Adira had a problem with not having an intense gaze. The color of her eyes was a discomfort for some people, since they were so light. "I got you in here just fine without being seen. Besides, you can barely even walk to the kitchen." Zinkenite was being dumb. It was ridiculous to think that he could walk home, unless he would call outside of the building or something. She wondered vaguely if she could be sneaky enough to see him power down. Adira was interested to see what he looked like as a civilian. His explanation of the fight however, was not what she was expecting at all. She ripped her eyes from his and down at her tea, her body tensed, and her lips were set in a firm line. It might've been weird, but what she did next explained it. A laugh slipped out from her lips. It was so unlike her to slip, but she couldn't help it. What a corny description of senshi! Boots, firsts... and other resources. It sounded like the stat card of a roleplaying game. Right after the sound escaped, Adira clapped a hand over her mouth, but it was apparent that she was laughing silently.

His eyebrows shot up at the laugh, utterly baffled for a moment as to why that was funny, but really... He'd just explained it rather like he'd been having...what... car troubles or the like.
"Alright... I'll concede the laugh..." He nodded slightly and took another sip of his tea. "It did sound silly... besides it was less 'boots' and more high heels." he amended which was an honest attempt to keep her laughing. Laughter was far safer than too many questions after all.

Ah, and now he had said the magic words. Knowing his severe aversion to sexual jokes, Adira was going to inflict a bit of torture of her own. It took a lot to stop laughing, but she did so. "High heels?" An eyebrow was raised. "Am I to believe that you were beat by a prostitute, Mr. Zinkenite?" She was still laughing, though holding it in mostly. It was more of a snicker now than anything. Adira took another bite of her cinnamon roll to calm down. She was almost done with the two of them, she'd been hungrier than she'd thought.

'Mister Zinkenite' coughed around a mouthful of cinnamon roll and had to wash it clear with an impromptu swallow of tea.
"Good lord." He managed flushing a shade of red that did nothing to flatter the indigo shade of his hair.
"I don't think that they are the only people to wear high heels." He said half fighting a surprised laugh of his own thinking of the length, or lack there of for some of the senshi's skirts he'd seen. He wondered if he'd be able to get past the mental image of them standing on street corners.
"... I admit I was impressed that a person could kick that high wearing high heels though." He said ruefully.

Aha! So her little method of torture had indeed worked the way it was supposed to. Instead of just letting out a stifled laugh like she had been, Adira let out a full blown laugh. The look on his face was absolutely precious. She considered it a bit of payback for his role playing comment last time; revenge was sweet. She took another sip of tea, before looking down at her plate and realizing she was out of cinnamon bun. Standing from the couch, Adira moved with her plate to the kitchen. She turned at his comment, giving him another wink. "You'd be surprised what a person could do in high heels, once you've worn them long enough." Adira would know, she wore heels constantly. Mostly due to her short height, the two or three inch heels really helped her not feel like a shortie. She supposed it was probably something that Zink could relate to.

His eyebrows went high enough they might have brushed his hairline and his eyes were wide enough to be tea saucers for a moment before he focused on the last of his own bun.
"Ah!...." He said simply not sure quite how to respond to that particular comment about high heels. "Ah..." He repeated "I see...Um... I will take that under advisement." He said looking almost as edgy as when he'd first awakened. He was back to being unsure if she was flirting or just being 'fun'...

Adira responded with only a smile. It was indeed rather easy to get this particular lieutenant to react predictably. It was rather chill in the apartment. Even though she'd only turned on the air the other day, she'd never used it before and it was a bit over powerful. Padding over to the thermostat, she turned it down a few degrees before heading to the stairs. "I'll be right back down." Adira was intent on finding a sweater to wear, since the apartment was getting uncomfortably cold for her. It didn't take her long to get up the stairs, and only about a minute or two of rustling around to produce her black zip up. She loved the thing dearly, it was always her favorite to wear. The girl started down the stairs again, mind occupied on possibly going to visit the hospital again later. There were some things she had to attend to.

By the time she reached the bottom stair, the apartment was empty, the dishes neatly stacked oddly enough, if a little hastily on the coffee table, but the boots and coat gone.
Outside he hurried down a few flights of stairs as fast as he could hobble. He couldn't afford being driven anywhere, he couldn't just stay and let her ask questions either. Not that he wasn't grateful for the care...and the food it was just... He paused for breath and to put his boots on, the coat he had managed on the move but the damned boots were too tall to just stuff his feet into, why in the name of god they couldn't issue something easier to get on and off he had no idea, though at least the height helped support his still aching ankle.
He glanced over the railing to see how many more flights it was to the street and let out a small groan. It could have been worse... he told himself with every step, she could have lived in a sky scraper on the top floor.... and she could have been a senshi.
