Very good book... And I congradulate Orwell on his creativity in portraying the Russian Revolution. For those who would like extra information on how the characters refer to individuals during the revolution.. go HERE.

Amazing book, I picked it up at a garage sale and luckily, whomever the book had belonged to, they wrote notes in it about the Russian Revolution, and a key to which Russian dictators the characters in the novel paralleled.
Benjamin, the old donkey was my favourite character. He had many clever things to say. What was really fascinating was how he never got too excited about 'the new revolution'. I guess he represented the older generation.
"Donkeys live a long time. None of you has ever seen a dead donkey." -Old Benjamin

I read it a long time ago. Need to read it again. I don't think I was old enough to appriciate its metaphoric qualities

George Orwell is just a great author. I loved both Animal Farm as well as 1984.

It was required reading for 7th grade. Personally, I loved it. It showed so much about human kind, and I've never read a political satire quite like Animal Farm. And it relates to a bit of history- when Russia was overtaken by Stalin and the Communists. Although I'm still kind of sad when Boxer died.

I like how orwell in this book showed that people can easily be tricked and manipulated to suit needs. This book is a great companion to 1984 and investigation into human nature and the way inwhich the world can easily be changed and stay that way when no one does anything. He is a fantastic writer in both his stories and the way he weaves philosophy and psychology into his work.

I last read this book for english in 7th grade and I think I enjoyed it. My memory's pretty bad (I sound like an old grandma), but the little I remember was interesting. Sadly most of the people in my grade ended up hating this book...huh. I'll have to re-read this again sometime and get around to reading 1984.

I love Animal Farm! It just manages to evaluate human physiology perfectly (even though the 'humans' were portrayed as animals)

I can't say I really enjoyed it, though it was... interesting.
The sad thing is, I'm Russian and I know next to nothing about the Russian revolution sweatdrop

I passionately disliked Animal Farm, although I loved 1984 and the various essays I read by Orwell. I have a love/hate relationship with dystopias.
Love: The Giver, 1984, Brave New World
Hate: Animal Farm, Farenheit 451.
