Base = Supporter

R on = Gained a decent offensive attack

Super S on = Got a better offensive attack

She went from defense only to semi-decent offense.

Even supporters have their place, regardless. Any tactical game (or Pokemon) will show you the value of snuffing an enemy's bigger attackers with supporters, then having the big guns finish them off.

Sailor Mercury is a very useful sailor scout, she is supportive of Serena and the others, she is also very smart. In the episode where they are looking the lair of the Queen Beryl, Sailor Mercury uses her computer to pinpoint the exact location where the negative energy is coming from. biggrin

Hell no! Mercury is an integral part of the team. Initially, she only works out as a support character, which makes her extremely valuable, although not in terms of lethality. She can get information in a short period of time that the other Senshi cannot and she had the ability to use an icy mist to shroud the battlefield in an impromtu smokescreen, which gives the Senshi a serious edge in certain situations.

She gets more powerful over time, however, so in terms of battle competence and lethality, she is a late bloomer. The ability to freeze enemies is pretty damn powerful.

Mercury is the God of intelligence and that is why Sailor Mercury is the smart one. He is associated with rivers and drinking water which is why Mercury is a water elemental.

However since we know now that Mercury is a planet not a star and that its constantly on fire, you COULD reason that Mercury should be a fire elemental not water.

But since the principal of the scouts is that there are inner and outer planets and that MARS is already FIRE them Mercury was left as she was.

If youre going to use the logic that Mercury was ONE of TWO water elemental because of Neptune then that makes Uranus redundant as well. She has similar powers to Jupiter.

And since the negaverse was defeated then you can also argue that since they reused the same plot for PLUTO she was also redundant.

Ami is really underrated in the Anime compared to what she could do in the Manga and crystal. She could open and close space time fractures, had complete control of water in any form and was the most intelligent of all the scouts.

Kawaisa Sailor Moon

IMO the most useless Scout is Sailor Moon herself (IN THE BEGINNING), she fails at being a leader and most of the time stands there and doesn't defend until Tuxedo Mask comes along and tells her to do stuff.

Don't get me wrong, I love that little meatball head to death, but at the start she definetly takes a long time to get used to this whole "superhero" business.

Of topic I guess but this was one of the big reason I got interested in Sailor Moon as a child. Back then the only super heroes on TV was Batman and Superman, they were grown men, boring, they were never sad and almost never afraid, they were far from everything I was. I was a small child, clumsy, afraid, crying, having a hard time with many things, so I could never identify with Batman or Superman. But then came Sailor Moon! A child! Older than me, but still. Who cried and were afraid of the enemies, but she could still win! She could still save the day! She could still become something! I have never before felt so close to being a super hero.
