Lightning bolt, there is no better spell, all the ones that do more damage cost waaaaay too much gonk

I was scared for the first two pages, then they started getting to Lightning bolt. Good job. Then, I saw that someone said Shock...and again, I am scared for several of the people in this guild.
Also, Book Burning is not a burn spell. The word "Burn" in its name and the fact that it MIGHT deal damage doesn't make it a burn spell. The only punisher card I would call a burn spell is the 1R one that blows up a land or deals them six damage. Either way, they're in for a whole lot of hurt, especially against a burn/LD mix deck with Firewalkers. (That'd be my favorite red deck for Extended; it has an LD spell drop almost every turn that a lot of burn spells or a Firewalker doesn't.)

old school biotch. And if yall say ball lighning isnt burn you need your head examined. 6/1 trample haste sac it at end of turn for three!!!!
the closest things type 2 have are spark elemental, and cosmic larva, good cards dont get me wrong but burn baby burn

not red, but artifact and swamp
corrupt (deals damage equal to you swamps you control, and you get that much life)
goblin charbolier (you pickup cards off the top of your libeary until you hit a land card, it does that much damnage, if it was a mountain that was picked up, it does double damage)

They can be stopped by creature removal.
