Marlo idly sipped his water, eyes trying to identify the paintings. "Only fools rush in." It was spoken off handedly. "But those who stay behind, are left behind?" His glass was emptied of it's contents. Marlo shook his head, his eyes were still on the paintings however. "I can't tell if you're just impatient or what. But, by now, you should know that I desire to leave. Thus, find your brother."
"Open the door, if it's armed I'm not the one to get shanked." He hoped not. He was standing to the side of the door, just in case.

"Well," Ametrine said, observing that there was nothing about the room beyond what she had first noticed. "I'm certainly not staying here. Who knows what awaits beyond that door." For all intents and purposes, she was "with" Hector. Outside of this situation, factions could do what they wished. Inside of it, Ametrine wasn't going to let something like that stop her from utilizing every available resource. Yes, that included even bone headed Serandite. ... At least Captain Serandite was beginning to see reason.
It would be an alliance of a temporary nature, a truce that could not hope to last outside of the strange world they moved through, but one that was vital to them now. Fragile as it was, without it they might very well be doomed. "My initial theory was that we had stumbled upon the seven dwarves' cottage. It would not be out of the realm of possibility, given that I think the last... area... I was in featured the three little pigs." She addressed Serandite directly, though her attention was swiftly drawn away.
Let Hector (Prince Hector?) be the one to open the door. She was all okay with that idea. As Marlo had said, she would not be the one getting shanked. Who knew if the door was trapped? The door of the brick house (har har har) had been so hot to the touch that it had nearly burned her. Could this door be like the other? From what she could tell, it didn't resemble it... but then, did it have to to have a similar function?

Hector's knock was answered by a woman's voice, muffled and far-away sounding. The sound distinctly traveled upward -- So, they were upstairs, then. Or not, and there was a basement. Well, they were somewhere and someone was somewhere else, vertically speaking, and that same someone who was vertically somewhere else was also a woman (probably). It told them that much.
"Awake already?" she said. "No, you must be exhausted. Rest a little longer."
Further knocking didn't produce any answer.
The painting Serandite was leaning on appeared to be of the forest at night, trees clustered in between a few night-black lakes. There was a woman walking in the grassy patches of land between the water. She was well-lit even at night, the light catching her pale skin and the loose tumbles of her silver-white hair bundled up artfully into a pile atop her head. She wore an inky blue dress that was slightly glittery, with long, dagged sleeves, and around her waist was a white leather belt with a shiny silver clasp.
She looked happy.

"The hell." She said at the voice. Lyra walked over to join Hector as well with the knocking. Though any amount of talking seemed to end the same, and that was with... no response.
"....Are we going to have to break this door down?" She asked no one in particular. Lyra honestly was wary of the door and what was behind it too- but if they were going to get out of this world it was not going to be sleeping on these beds. Being a senshi she was tossed into dangerous situations more than she liked to admit- this was just another of those times. I have a feeling we are prisoners. If there is someone watching the door... She thought.
Turning around she looked around the room to see if there would be anything useful in getting this door open. "We could ram the door with the table.." She eyes the table with the water on top of it.

Marlo shrugged. At least they knew now that indeed, they were not 'alone'. "Snow White?" He'd not missed Ametrine's comment apparently. He pointed at the painting. "Maybe that's her? Would seem rather vain, storybook princesses tended to be humble rather than show their vanity. It was usually the jealous witch who's vanity was her own undoing." It was a rather nice painting in a general sense. Pity.
"If you want to break down a door, I'd vote to kick in the door handle. Unless it's dead bolted or is rather high security with thicker wood, ramming a door with an object or your own body runs the risk of injury. Kicking it in runs a little less risk." He sounded like he had done this before. "Want to try and kick it Hector?" He probably had, but he also had no idea if the door was armed. He still was leery.

"Ram it with a bed." It was said very quietly, but the edge was still in Black Lady's tone that Hector had set there with his presence. She'd considered simply screaming at him some more until he fought back and then she could simply strangle the life from his body - in an ideal world. This was not remotely an ideal world. No doubt the girl in the glittery hood would pull her right off, as would the boy Marlo, Serandite didn't seem happy about things either and she really wasn't so interested in hurting a girl who reminded her much of herself. Herself in another time and place, but nonetheless...no.
So instead, she simply made a suggestion and walked to put water in a cup, draining it and chugging it down before gasping for breath and pouring another, drinking from that. It had been a very long time since she'd had anything to eat either, but water was a start. Chibiusa hadn't at all been thrilled at the prospect of potentially drinking from that inky darkness. Cooled and moistened her throat opened again. "If you kick the door and it does not move, you will just be hurt. While that does not make me sad, it might make someone else sad and then you will have to be left here when we leave." She might need fodder later, after all.

"But she said to.. rest a little longer? Don't you suppose there's a reason for that?" Serandite knew that they had to get out. But the lady had said not to. Serandite, for one, was glad to have other company in the house. It made the distorted reality.. almost seem.. normal? Serandite finally took a look at the painting behind her, taking it down to gaze upon the beauty.
Large painting in hand, she directed her comment towards the group by the door, displaying it to them. "Hey Usagi. Doesn't this look a little like the place we were at? Do you guys suppose that this might be the lady that talked to us?" Serandite pointed at the painting, running her fingers over the gentle scenery. She was beautiful.

She was always a heavy sleeper. Waking up, Sailor Walküre noticed that she was, yet again, tarty to the party. When did she even fall asleep? She grunted and put her hand on her head; this was getting annoying.
She stood up. "Um, hey! How long were you going to let me sleep?" Her arms were folded and her eyes glared across the room.

"Like I said... my initial theory. This does not seem to fit it, however." Ametrine's gaze slid from Marlo to the blond just awakening. Another senshi... of course. "As long as it took," she returned, an eyebrow raised as she regarded the young woman. At what point had she assumed that it was anyone else's responsibility to awaken her? Her eyelid twitched, the irritable tic reappearing. Oh, to be free of this place and the idiocy that abounded in it. More specifically, to be home and with Kremersite, or back at the library.
Anything, anything at all, so long as was not this. It bothered her that the woman had wanted them to continue resting. "A bed might work. As we are, it would take more than one of us to lift it. Any volunteers?" Yes, see, this was more like it. While she didn't normally care for working in a group, there was a certain logic to it now. They were stuck together, and by force of circumstance a team. Outside of this strange place that might very much be the opposite, but for now... for now, she favored teamwork. Ugh.

So Walküre was finally awake. Aquarius nodded in her direction, feeling a bit relieved to not be the only one who was clearly missing a few details. Nobody seemed to have all the answers, but nobody was sharing the information they had, either. It was really frustrating.
"You didn't miss much," she assured Walküre by way of an excuse. "Just a catfight and a creepy voice." She downed the rest of her water and, still holding the cup, scanned the room. If the door was under surveillance, it might be more prudent of them to look for other ways out. Maybe a window. But there were no windows, only paintings.
Maybe there was more to the paintings than met the eye.
Serandite's comment naturally drew Aquarius' attention to that painting in particular. She looked over, at first trying to see if it might hold a clue to how they could escape, or hide a window or a passage behind it. But when she got a good look at the woman depicted, she bit her lip. There was something very familiar about her... but Aquarius couldn't afford to lose her focus. Not now.
"Does the door have to be the way out?" she asked the room in general, approaching the painting. "If it's being watched, wouldn't it be better to find an alternate route?"

Ah Aquarius, how different it was to want to hear her voice. "I missed a catfight? Well, now you really should have woke me up for that." she said with a sly smile. Given that her relationship with Variscite had mostly consisted of a series of catfights, Walküre encouraged others to let their love bloom in such a way. Also, she wouldn't have minded being lecherous for a moment or two.
Looking over at the girl in purple, she could feel the disdain from her eyes. Sailor Walküre made a note in her head to keep an eye on her. She was most likely going to be the first person Walküre pissed off. She had a bad habit of doing that.
Walking over to a wall, she put her ear up to it, and pounded lightly. She was listening to the different sounds it made. She had no idea what everyone else had tried to do yet, but maybe the wall had a soft spot they could break open and climb out of.

"Do you guys not know the meaning of 'ask'," Hector said, voice low, completely exasperated. There was another dramatic temple-rubbing. "Jesus! And people accuse me of rushing on in. I'm not going to knock down the door until we talk to the lady. It's not like she said 'shut up and stay in there until we can eat you,' children, so if she comes back with that then we can try ramming."
He knocked again, and raised his voice: "We're all awake," he called out. "We'd like to come out now, ma'am."

"Fine. You can ask, and if she does display hostility, on your head be it." Ametrine did not trust random people who took her (and others, it seemed) in and put her to bed after she'd fallen asleep in a strange place. More so, she did not trust random people who had huge doors, who told her that she should get more rest. Sleep was all well and good, until it was in an uncertain location. She was already more or less surrounded by enemies; with the possible exception of Black Lady and Captain Serandite-- and a few that couldn't be placed.
Still, there was some merit to his suggestion. She settled down a little, and waited patiently to see what would come of it. On the plus side, it was Hector and not she that was near the door, talking to the strange woman. Perhaps she shouldn't be as suspicious of foreign assistance as she was, but some habits were hard to shake. This one was undoubtedly one of them. Crossing her arms, she waited and watched, wondering just how likely the situation was to blow up.

"I told you once Hector," Marlo went to the table and set his glass down. A rainy day and then a glass of water was enough liquids for him. "I am not going to wrestle a bear for you. Bears also include crazy cannibalistic women. Should it even be a woman, or by slight chance it's a man. Same principle." He sighed. He wanted out. He wanted to go home. "I will back you up in a fight I suppose. Just not a pointless one." Thus, not with the pink haired woman. "But if she," (referring to the woman below), "says to stay here I will break down that door. My patience is pretty shot at this point."

The voice from the floor below them didn't respond to Hector's polite inquiry, except by means of an audible chuckle they could hear even this far away.
[OOC: You can begin taking actions at any time -- since these threads all go live tonight, if no characters have forced the door after an hour has passed from this posting, two characters will be randomly drawn and I'll let you know how they chose to open the door!]
