((The seat numbers didn't appear on the student list, but I posted them last time. Here they are again just in case: Catharine will take seat 7, Azure will take seat 13))
Kitty's hand shot up next, eyes blazing with excitement. The students seemed fascinating, and hopefully more than a couple would end up being her friends. "My name's Catharine Farrel-Porter, but everyone calls me Kitty. My daemon's name is Olorantine, or Olor for short. He's still a daemling, but I've spotted some dolphin, swan and otter in him. I'm a bit younger than most here, 16. My favorite animal just has to the Arabian horse. I've owned one since I was young, he's called Thunder, and he's an absolute sweetheart. I would like to learn a bit more about how diverse life is, especially in other continents because I've never really been abroad." She paused for a second, ponder what else she could add about herself. Her eyes shifted to the haze that was her daemon, who appeared to be looking at other people's daemons, though she couldn't be sure. "I'm really looking forward to meeting everyone!"
~*~*~*~*~
Azure's hands gripped the table as the Colonel began to address the pupils. A fine line of sweat broke out on her forehead. Her eyes shifted restlessly from side to side. Half the words he said she couldn't understand. Her ignorance of everyday topics hit her like a brick. She couldn't even follow the introductory course.
Nyto gently pushed himself against her arm, soft pygmy-rabbit fur appearing briefly. Go next. Get it over and done with. He prompted gently, You'll have to do it at some point.
Silently cursing the situation she was in, she very hesitantly cleared her throat after the lilac-haired girl stopped talking. She hadn't really been listening to anyone so far, she'd been too nervous. "Azure Sasaki." She managed to say after a few moments of doubt. As the attention flickered towards her, she stifled the instinct to run. Swallowing nervously, a bolt of anger at herself shot through her. What was wrong with her? These people didn't know her past, they wouldn't hunt her down, surely? No. No one knew what had happened, and they never would. They had no reason to hurt her.
"My daemon's name is Oreailhoenyto. I'm 17. After her brief moment of bravery, she felt a flash of discomfort at telling people even this much. "No favorite animal." Then she hit a wall. What did she want to learn? She hadn't really joined the class voluntarily. Bile rose in her throat as panic seared through her.
Relax. Tell them you want to learn more about animal behavior, that's a reasonable topic. Nyto helpfully put in, winding around his human's arm comfortingly.
"I want to learn more about animal behavior." Dropping her gaze for a moment, she made it clear she was finished. Thanks, Nyto. She mentally added, relaxing her grip slightly from the table. She had survived the first task. She could do it, she was strong. How hard could it be to pretend she was one of them? She'd lived with humans for the first 10 years of her life, after all.

Sagara had watched quietly as the other student's arrived - some of them seemed to know one another, others seemed willing to go ahead and start making friends. Sagara just waited patiently despite Kail's prodding to do otherwise. She'd make friends later - once she got to watch everyone a bit more."You spend to much time watching" Kail told her Frowning at him for a moment Sagara was relieved when a few seconds later the teacher called them to order.
Saved by the bell so to speak she thought to herself as she could hardly go about visiting now! Turning her attention to Colonel Jim as he spoke, passing the papers dutifully on as he passed them out to the rows. By the time she'd finished looking her own sheet over other students were introducing themselves."you might as well go next!" Kai piped up when a lull appeared in the introductionsSagara thought he was probably right and with a sigh raised her hand. "I'm Sagara, Sagara Sun and I'm 18, Kailrethilren is my Daemon's name - but he likes to be called Kail. I guess I've always liked horses the most, grew up with them and have always wanted to work with them again, I suppose I thought biology would be a sensible class to take given that goal" She finished with a slight shrug and fell silent waiting for the next student to chime in.

Cilla sat in silence fully embarrassed that everyone had a daemon and they all seemed to be so much younger then her. Suddenly she wanted nothing to do but bolt from the class and never look back. And yet the thought of facing her parents if she failed here kept her glued to her seat. She was too afraid to stand but she raised her hand and spoke. "My name's Priscilla Hackleman, I mean Abbett. I think I'm the oldest here at 21. I haven't had the honor of meeting my daemon, and I signed up for this class because it seemed the best way to begin my study into my daemon." She nodded once indicating she was done and began to leaf through the syllabus. Only now did she realize that she had stared at the wall in front of her the whole time she spoke and a blush swept across her face.

At this point, Sang jumped in. She didn't want to be the last to go. Everybody sounded plenty interesting; perhaps she'd make some friends in here. "I'm Eglantine Sangreal, Sang for short. I'm almost nineteen, will be in a few weeks, and my daemon gets called Pieuvre because he won't tell me his name." She paused for a moment. "It's French for Octopus- he takes that form quite frequently. I'm in biology because it sounded interesting and because I've traveled a lot but never stayed in one place for long. I'd like to learn what some of the things are that I've seen." She shrugged. No harm in that, right?

Caitlin smiled a little at the arrival of the Colonel's assistant; in fact, his owl daemon was quite cute. Her teacher's sudden speech of his life story was interesting, however; Afrikaanis, really? And a part of the Corps, headed to the new world? How exciting! She glanced at the papers he began passing out; she wished she could read them right now, but that probably wouldn't be a good idea. Then came the suggestion of introductions. She sure didn't want to go first, but then many others went...
Was she the very last? Oh, goodness. At least she wasn't late like the other two, poor things. Finally, after Sang went--ooh, her daemon's "name" was French--she got her chance. "My name is Caitlin O'Reily, and I'm fifteen. My daemon's name is Aarocayne, though I nearly always call him Cayne." She felt the daemon in question nudge her slightly. "My favorite animal is...well, kind of a mix-up between the gray wolf and the horse, wolves because they are incredibly interesting, and horses because we own a few, and I love working with them." Hopefully that didn't seem like bragging. Did it? "I wanted to take biology because I do love animals, and I think learning about the natural world is fun."

Holy HECK he was late. Of course, not all of that was his fault. The brace had broken, and he'd had to pretty much rig up another one on the fly. This one didn't look - or work - half as well as the last, and as a result, he was moving slower than tar down a dry lakebed. Forget not being noticed... although he TRIED not to be too loud, in case class was already in session. Ooooo... he was going to GET it from the teacher....
He slid into a seat, hoping that no one would notice - although it was kind of hard NOT to with the clump-clump of the makeshift brace. He had no idea what was going on, and no idea where to even begin speaking... So unless the teacher brought him up, he'd just stay here in the back, unnoticed, hopefully. What were the other students saying? Perhaps if he listened closely he'd figure it out, and not be laughed at when his turn came to do... whatever it was he was supposed to do.
To make matters worse, his Daemon chose to wait until he was seated in the last available place to poke his head in, and meander on over to the desk like it was nothing. Of course, his Daemon had no name with which Seth could tell him to be quiet. The form he chose was not entirely conducive to that level of inaudibility. A horse... Seth thought, literally head-desking. You HAD to choose a horse.
His Daemon whickered in reply, loud enough to interrupt whoever was talking... thus making things a lot more uncomfortable for the already-hella-late-and-embarrassed-as-all-get-out Seth, who was currently blushing as beet red as it got.

Ah! So this must be Seth Advian. The Colonel looked him over as Miss O'Reily stopped speaking. Lateness was not something he tolerated well, although it was the boy's first day, and on top of that, he seemed to be struggling with some kind of brace. Smiling to himself, he decided that Ambalapad glaring at him and his rather large daemon would be enough punishment for now. "Ah, you must be Master Advian. So glad you could join us. I would like to remind you all that arriving on time is quite important; if you do not arrive on time, you might have to hurry through an experiment, and that is always a regrettable choice! As it is, we haven't started anything but introductions. Master Advian, how about you? Would you mind stating your name for the class, your age, your daemon's name, your favorite animal, and your reason for taking biology. Go on, none of us bite. Well, the pupils and myself, anyways." He chuckled a bit at his rather ineffective joke.
Ambalapad's fur bristled as she gazed at the latecomers. She was a military daemon, dammit, and punctuality was crucial to a well-ordered classroom. She yawned widely, displaying her teeth, and settled her gaze upon the boy and his daemon, blinking only occasionally. She prided herself on being the master of passive threats, and this, she knew, was certainly effective.

Seth tried to make himself as small as possible, shrinking against the desk in an attempt to remain at least partially out of the public eye. Of course, that was impossible, considering he was ALREADY in the public eye with being called out. He swallowed back a lump in his throat, and took a deep breath.
"My name is Seth Advian..." he said, softly. "I'm t-t-twelve years old, and my favorite animal is a deer... Ummm... " He looked sideways at his daemon. "I'm taking biology because I've always been interested how things work, and..."
His daemon gave a soft whicker of amusement, and shifted into a large gray tomcat, sitting on Seth's desk, and grooming his paws like nothing happened at all.
"My... daemon.. hasn't told me his name..."
The blush he'd already been sporting intensified, as he braced for what he was sure was going to either be a collective gasp of disbelief, or a raucous laughter.

Jack waited for the latecomer to introduce himself, listening as he did so. He seemed pretty embarrassed, but then again, he was late. Even if she was one of the last to introduce herself, she had still made it on time. Not only that, but she was able to see that interesting snake and picked a spot she wanted, right towards the back, near it.
Once Seth finished his shaky introduction, she piped up.
"My name is Jack Cobb and I'm seventeen." As she spoke, the swirl of mass that was her own dæmon shifted and swirled at her side, taking the odd shape of the dark furred, giant anteater. He lifted his shaggy head and long snout, glancing towards his human. "And I dunno how well you can see him, but this guy is my dæmon, Sevaliibastion. I don't really have a favorite animal either, other than snakes, I guess. I came to the college to learn as much as I can, and where better to learn about the natural world other than Biology class? Anyways, I'm hoping to do well."
