Dacj rolled her eyes at Sorcha's justification, but she had a point, the kraken supposed. Having been very fond of her squidlet stage, she just was entirely unnerved by people eating small squid. Maybe a Hyte who wasn't as fond of their animal stage wouldn't feel the same. She pursed her lips at the question, brow furrowing as she mulled it over. "Yes...sort of. A stranger, not really. Someone I am close to, yes, I would still be bothered." She grimaced, being adding apologetically, "I know it's really silly of me, but I used to be a pretty small squid, so..." She shrugged. She couldn't really explain it, but it just was that way.

Sorcha sighed more deeply "Haa ok, I'll miss their delicious wriggly tentacles.... though to be fair if your asking me not to eat your animal donor your eating mine is kinda..."

Dacj suppressed an internal shiver--those poor wriggly tentacles!--and gave Sorcha a wide eyed, innocent gaze. "Would you like me to not eat beef, Sorcha?" she asked, half sincere. If it bothered Sorcha, she wouldn't really mind. If it was out of some misguided sense of things being even...well, she'd be tempted to sneak a burger now and then.

" It's not so much that as" Sorcha coughs slightly and puts on her best authoritative voice "Basic psychology uneven relationships have a very strong tendency to be unhealthy one of the main reasons off which is that it makes the person who the relationship is in favor of feel guilty. And you Dacj worry about that kinda thing waaay too much as it is already!"

The kraken blinked, surprised at the impromptu psychoanalysis. "So psychology says if I have you stop eating squid but don't balance it out I'll end up feeling guilty in the long run?" And then the second part of Sorcha's authoritative speech sunk in. "I don't worry about things too much! I just...thoroughly analyze all angles of a situation," she protested lamely. Even though Sorcha was probably right. But there were a lot of things to worry about!

"Well to be perfectly honest your cautious nature is a good balance for my reckless one, BUT that was not what I was talking about what I meant is that you feel guilty about what you are FOR NO GOOD REASON I'll add, your body is perfect the way it is, but what I'm saying is your rather predisposed to that kinda thing, it doesn't have to be as straight as no beef for no squid." Sorcha presses up close to Dacj at this point and gives a suggestive eyebrow wiggle "Relationships can be balanced in all kinda ways, what really matters is that you truly feel it's a fair trade for me giving up on of my favorite foods."

Dacj had to smile at Sorcha's quick assessment of their suitability for one another--though the kraken didn't think she was all that cautious, she was just cautious in comparison. There was a difference. But when the cow teen ploughed onward, she made a face. Clearly someone had been talking to Eli, she mused (and then had to wonder what that conversation had been like...it was a morbid curiosity). "There are plenty of good reasons," she muttered under her breath, but she was caught offguard by Sorcha's sudden closeness--and wasn't exactly sure what the girl was suggesting. "Ooh~? And what do you feel is a fair trade for it?"

Sorcha due to her invasion of Dacj space caught the mutter and quirked an eyebrow "None of that now your wonderful just the way you are and any one who says differently will answer to me!" sense Dacj didn't seem to mind the closeness Sorcha didn't move off and puts her arm around Dacj's shoulder, at Dacj's question Sorcha snorts lightly "I just said what matters is that YOU feel it's a fair trade, silly. Of course I could give suggestions if you need them~"

Answer to her, eh? Somehow it amused the kraken that Sorcha felt so protective of her. She was the elder Hyte--and the more sensible one. "I am interested to hear these suggestions. I feel they may be relevant to my decision making process," Dacj said solemnly, spoiling whatever seriousness her words might've had by reaching out to play with the other girl's hair, twirling orange-red locks around her slim fingers.

Sorcha smiled "Well in the general physical closeness and contact with my friends is something I enjoy very much so thats a place you could start from. Also It's a food related issue so food related favors are also well within the realm of possibility~"

"Hmm~" She fell silent, a pensive look on her face. Physical closeness and food related favors and something that might be difficult for her normally? Those seemed to be the vague guidelines. If it had previously been one of Sorcha's favorite foods, then it was supposed to carry sufficient mental weight in comparison, right?
Well, she could think of one thing, but she was really reluctant to propose it. "You don't have any more specific suggestions?" she asked, a little pleading note in her voice.

Sorcha sighed "Well the whole point of you giving the idea your self is so it's an idea you think is fair, but~ I will say that my cooking results tend to follow my mad science, especially after Na-kuns observation that cooking was basically chemistry. And that given my state of.. endowment a certain amount of stress doses accumulate in my back~"

Dacj gave Sorcha a half hug at the helpful suggestions, feeling them much more appropriate than the one she'd come up with. "Cooking and-or backrubs? In order to save my little wiggly sea relatives I will most certainly sacrifice of my time to make you delicious dinners that do not involve the loss of their lives~" She chuckled and added, "The backrubs'll be a freebie, and you can reciprocate." She rather liked compromising with Sorcha. This was almost fun!

Sorcha beamed and returned the hug "Excellent, that does indeed seem like an optimal way to resolve the issue, I wouldn't have been able to reciprocate cooking sense most of the time culinary abominations against nature just aren't that tasty sadly." Sorcha nodded satisfied with the way thing had played out " Well with foods to avoid dealt with is there any kind of food you especially like that we could have on our date?"

Dacj giggled at Sorcha's description of her own cooking--it seemed like she really did take after Mena in spirit. There was a reason Mom never cooked. Still, it worked out in their family, so Dacj was sure their compromise would work out well too. "Hm..." She really wasn't picky about food, and she didn't have favorites either. And then an idea came to mind. "You choose the main course, and I'll make blueberry pie for dessert?" she suggested. And she could give Hunter the leftovers--it was like a win-win situation.
