True, which means I need to get to a place with loads of easily-slain demons/youkai and bump off about 1000 or so.
After all, there's an old legend in japan that goes along the lines of "He who slays 1000 Youkai will himself become a Youkai".
Hmm.......but that's gonna be tricky, since my combat abilities are mediocre at best. ....I could always find a Muramasa-Crafted Sword, that could help.....if they exsist. ...Better learn a little Onmyoji too, never know when it might come in handy.

Slaying a thousand youkai sounds like an easier task to fulfill than learning Shashoku, or getting to live an absurd number of years and letting the power come to you as usual. Hanzo Komeiji which means I need to get to a place with loads of easily-slain demons/youkai and bump off about 1000 or so. [...] but that's gonna be tricky, since my combat abilities are mediocre at best. Step 1: Travel to one of the following destinations: Japan / Ireland / Scandinavia / Patagonia. Step 2: Find an average random fairy. Step 3: Kill her brutally and mercilessly. According to Akyuu, this should be easy even for an average human. Step 4: Wait for her to respawn. Step 5: Repeat steps 3 and 4 until you become a youkai.

What can i say? I'm impatient. And once I reach Youkai-hood, it'll only get easier. Wotan Manasal Step 1: Travel to one of the following destinations: Japan / Ireland / Scandinavia / Patagonia. Step 2: Find an average random fairy. Step 3: Kill her brutally and mercilessly. According to Akyuu, this should be easy even for an average human. Step 4: Wait for her to respawn. Step 5: Repeat steps 3 and 4 until you become a youkai. Hmm.....sounds time-consuming.....and boring too, I'd rather fight numerous different Low-ranking Youkai, defeating them(Possibly making some lucky ones my Vassals), and learning their combat skills. Thusly, making up for my physical weakness by borrowing the abilities and skills of previously defeated foes. For example, let's say that I encounter a Spider Youkai similar to Yamame(but not), by defeating it and absorbing the energy released upon it's demise(among other things), I'll gain the power that it hoped to use to defeat me. And thusly, become able to use that very same power in my next battle.

I don't know about Muramasa, but at least I remember hearing about Musamune crafted katana existing. Though they are national treasures and don't leave the museums, or was it a royal palace? BAH! LOL @ using onmyoji. Pfff...fortune telling.

Hmm....guess I just need to get a sufficiently-powerful weapon that isn't modern. It's either do it the right way, or not at all.
You're thinking of Omikuji, those little sticks they use for fortunetelling in shrines. What I'm talking about is more or less something similar to what Reimu uses.

Depending on how long it takes for a fairy to respawn, I'd go for that.
Unless I can just buy a gun and blast them.
In which case... *loads a couple rounds* Youkai hunting I go.
Although I could sharpen the sword sitting in the corner of my front room and use that. surprised

Yakyumo Ran Bitchyness and being poor? You're very brave then. Well, I have those down already, so I may as well. xD Colm Cygnat Depending on how long it takes for a fairy to respawn, I'd go for that. Unless I can just buy a gun and blast them. In which case... *loads a couple rounds* Youkai hunting I go. Although I could sharpen the sword sitting in the corner of my front room and use that. surprised I'd use the sword, I read into that legend and it requires you to do it "Up-Close and Personal", so using a Melee Weapon is your best bet. A sword is my personal choice as well, but I won't be above using other weapons of the melee sort either, including myself.

We should all meet up IRL for the youkai hunting or something. Hah. Hanzo Komeiji Hmm....guess I just need to get a sufficiently-powerful weapon that isn't modern. You don't even need to have a magical weapon. You just can't go wrong with a good long sledgehammer. Colm Cygnat Although I could sharpen the sword sitting in the corner of my front room and use that. surprised Hmm... I wonder if my two hand axes will suffice. xd

Sledgehammer......Sure, if you want to risk hurting yourself on the backswing.
That's why i prefer something easier for my body type to manage, like a Sabre, Rapier, Cutlass, Katana, Etc.
But I won't say no to a Claymore or O-Nodachi(Think "Sephiroth") either.
Also, it seems that the posting is going weird again.

You don't need to backswing a sledgehammer a lot for delivering a skull-crashing blow. Maybe it's just me; I've always liked bludgeoning weapons (and axes) better than blades.
By the way, yea, the posting format is getting crazy for me too.

If all else fails, I could actually get a sword meant for cutting.
Preferably something like Momji's, although a nodachi or broadsword is fine too.
If killing youkai nets me their powers, I should find a really fast youkai, then try and sneak up on it... I'll probably lose an organ or something if I get discovered, but it'd be worth it. *recalls Lass from Grand Chase's striker job* *drools*
