Shiro caught sight of Thenia as she approached him and smirked slightly. He really was at a loss as to what he thought about her. It seemed to him that she was just as confused about all of this as he was, but also thought that she could just simply be toying with him, trailing him along some twisted path to his inevitable doom. He shrugged it off and knew if she wanted him dead, she probably would've done it right the first time. He decided to apologize for acting so irrational and cold to her recently, but instead turned to see her clutching her head in pain, and staggering towards him, reaching out for him. He quickly rushed forward catching her within his arms, and seeing the seared claw like wound upon her back he immediately lifted her up quickly into his arms. He had almost rushed into the banquet hall, but something of interest caught his eye...a projected image of some sort revealing a man whom apparently had been watching them as well. Shiro watched in horror as the demon known as Marxes looked directly at Shiro with the same surprise reflected within his eyes. Shiro simply grit his teeth and glared at the man whom he now was sure was responsible for everything he had gone through..."I'm coming for you...and god help you when I get there..." was all he said as the image began to shrink slowly as if it had been forceably held open. Finally snapping to, Shiro burst into the banquet hall, and yelled for help loudly, as he tried to keep Thenia conscious. "Stay with me Thenia...don't you dare die...you can't die," he said as he held fast to the fallen demon girl. Why was he so afraid of losing her? He didn't know, but it seemed that despite the circumstances of their first meeting, the two were simply pawns in a much bigger game of chess. Meanwhile... Maxel sat back in his chair, his heart pounding at a thousand beats per second. He didn't know why a Hume could frighten him so much, but something about that boy terrified him. How could that boy see him. He had used powerful dark magics to scry them, and the fact that he saw him sent thrills up his spine. He grunted in distaste, and shifted in his chair. "Come boy...bring the girl back to me and I'll make sure the two of you share a casket together..." he muttered to himself as he swiped his hand at the contents on his desk, sending beakers, books, and other misc. objects flying off it and crashing to the floor.

Lanryel glanced at Eshe after the two had left and sighed deeply. "I worry that these two may be more than a handful..." she murmured, shaking her head. Eshe chuckled and placed his hand reassuringly on top of hers.
"I was already planning on that when he woke up. Nevertheless, this is the change of pace I have been looking for, and I am thrilled to help these two out."
"But we don't even truly know who they are...or at least I am more concerned with the girl. I have already heard hushed talk of a demon being here in the castle." Eshe frowned and removed his hand, taking his goblet and twirling it slowly between his fingers. Lanryel bit her lip, knowing she had brought up a sore subject with him. While there had not been a publicized outbreak between the demons and elves in quite some time, they were far from allies. On top of that, she realized that deep down Eshe still held a grudge against the demon who took the life of the late King his father.
After a moment of awkward silence, Eshe looked after Thenia. "I have yet to find a reason to feel any ill will towards her. If it weren't for the horns I wouldn't even believe she was a demon." Lanryel nodded slowly in agreement, following Eshe's gaze until Thenia was out of sight. She trusted Eshe's judgement, and would give the girl a shot at her trust. After all, the poor thing seemed rather frightened deep down about something, and she was so sweetly mannered.
Lanryel heard Shiro before he appeared, and at the sight of him her heart sank. Thenia's limp form lay cradled in his arms, and from what she could see the girl was wounded badly. Lanryel rose to her feet immediately and rushed to Shiro. She motioned for him to follow her out of the hall and led him back up to her quarters. As they hurried along the hallway, Lanryel looked to Shiro. "What happened out on the balcony?" she questioned, wondering what had caused the wound and anxious to inspect it closer. They made it to her lab and she instructed Shiro to lay her down on one of the beds on her side, rushing to a cart containing neatly organized tools and supplies. Wheeling it over to the bedside, she took a pair of shears and snipped a long cut down the back of her dress to expose her back.
A small gasp escaped her when she saw the extend of the damage. The heat from her wound could still be felt as though it had just happened. How could something like this have happened in front of an enormous congregation of guests? "It is the result of magic." came a sudden voice behind her as if to answer her unspoken question
Eshe appeared and approached, a strange expression on his face. "Or I should say that whoever did this reached her through a magic 'mirror' or gazing spell, if you will. This is the work of a demon..." Looking down upon Thenia, Eshe was silent for a moment before turning to Shiro. "There may be a greater danger involved than I had previously believed. I have only ever known one demon to use such a spell with such ease as to bypass the protective barriers in place around the city. A man who is responsible, in part, for the chaos in this world. If he is involved, then plans will have to be made to help you get the flame back immediately."
"She will be fine," Lanryel interjected, having been further examining the wound. As Eshe spoke, she had watched as the wound cauterized and the bleeding stopped. "At least the wounds are not life threatening. Let me tend to her overnight and see how she fares in the morning." As Lanryel busied herself with tending to the bandaging of the wounds, Eshe spoke to Shiro again.
"I am glad to see that at least now she is not just a monster to you." He admitted in earnest. "I must return to the feast and calm the guests down. Lanryel I leave her in your capable hands." Eshe's tone was filled with regret and reluctance, though he knew he had a duty to his people. He left, and Lanryel looked after him before addressing Shiro.
"It's going to be another long night. If you would care to stay, you are more than welcome to." she motioned for a nearby chair before continuing her work. She wouldn't say it out loud, but for this girl to be involved with him she desperately began to fear for her well being.

Shiro remained silent the whole time, and although he had been asked questions about how she had ascertained such injuries he could only remain speechless, although thousands of thoughts swarmed through his mind. Many emotions seemed to flood Shiro overloading his common sense at the time, fear, hate, excitement all rushed through his mind just as the adrenaline rushed throughout his veins. Finally as the king left, Shiro revealed his distaste for the man. He could no longer stomach the superiority complexity of that man, and although he had no real reason to dislike him...he hated him so. He gripped his fist tightly and sucked at his teeth as he peered up at Lanryel, his eyes now almost fully red save the few green specs of his former eye color... "I hate that man..." he chided softly as he trembled with anger. "He's hiding something immense, and it bothers me...he's plotting something..." he said softly once more. He quickly found himself seething with so much anger that he began to busy himself as he had always done when upset, he just simply ran his hand down a strand of his increasingly whitened hair repeatedly. It had been an old habit that he had not been able to snuff out. He sucked at his teeth angrily, and turned away from Lanryel feeling a bit ashamed of his inexplicable anger. "I'm sorry...I can't really explain it, but that man..." he stopped himself as his eyes fell back upon Thenia, and he began to quickly grow calm. "Oh Thenia...was that the man who told you to extinguish the flame, and come kill me," he softly said as he reached towards her face, and brushed away a strand of hair from it. "It's okay now...you don't need to apologize anymore for that man's actions. It's not your fault...it never was," he softly said, knowing his words fell upon deaf ears. He knew well enough that she had fallen deep into unconsciousness, but in a way he was also reassuring himself. He looked up quietly at Lanyrel, and gave a slight smile. "I appreciate all the trouble you've gone through for us...but I believe that soon the matter will be out of your hands, and the burden will have to be carried by Thenia and I...but as of now I am within your debt," he said respectably bowing. "You know...you remind me of someone, but oddly enough I can't quite remember. Strange really, but I can't quite remember much of anything from my past. I used to be able to remember everything, but now..." he fell silent once more, and looked back at Thenia, placing his hand atop her own.

Lanryel was silent as Shiro spoke, unwilling to get in an argument with him over Eshe. The young man was frustrated, and getting into a fight wouldn't help either of them. Looking up at him, she froze at the sight of his strange habit. Now, with the change of his appearance from the first time she saw him, Lanryel finally realized who he was. Having been focused on figuring out why Thenia was familiar to her, she hadn't bothered to take a good hard look at Shiro. But there was no mistaking the white hair and red eyes of his father. Slowly, before her very eyes, Shiro was returning to the young ward she had taken care of many years ago in his youth.
Time had almost made her forget his face, though in her heart there was no mistaking it. Her lip began to tremble, and as soon as he broke his gaze with her to turn to Thenia Lanryel looked away for fear she might cry. It was not the time or the place to mention this too him, and she would do her best to pretend that nothing had changed. With a deep breath, Lanryel returned to Thenia and listened as he spoke to her, though could not make out the words. His tone however was kind, and although Thenia was deep in sleep Shiro still received a soft sigh as a reply from the unconscious girl, a sign that she had indeed heard whatever he said.
What concerned her though, was that is appeared that Shiro had seem him. His power was getting stronger, and it would only be a matter of time with the rifts forming between the worlds before Marxes took action. For the time being though, she would have to remain focused and prepare, rather than start to panic. After a few more careful moments she had Thenia completely bandaged up and pulled a blanket up over the girl's body to keep her warm. "It really is a pleasure for me, to be honest. I haven't had anyone to help for sometime, apart from the typical day-to-day wounds and illnesses. And the both of you have been given a run with fate that people twice your age wouldn't even want to go through. I'm amazed at how brave you two are."
When he spoke of how she reminded him of someone, and not being able to remember his past, Lanryel smiled knowingly. It was all part of sending him over to the Hume world, and the protection she had provided for him to attempt to block out memories of who his father was. His father who was just as corrupt as Marxes was...literally. Oh, the terrible fate these children had was enough to make her cry, though she held back her tears quite skillfully. Patting Shiro's shoulder lightly, she spoke softly like she used to when she would put him to sleep. "Perhaps, in time, your memory will return. And who knows, if you ever figure out who I remind you of, I'd be glad to hear."

Shiro smiled lightly as he sat there watching over Thenia. For the next few days the changes in Shiro became more prominent, and his hope for Thenia's awakening never faded. Although Eshe's attempts to get to know Shiro failed miserably, the king remained resolute in his attempts to befriend the strangely familiar man. Shiro would remain at Thenia's side, reading to her stories of his own childhood, rarely getting outside of the palace. He spoke little to anyone else, but at times would find himself deep in conversation with Lanryel mostly about his past, but despite the short time in which he had come to be within their world, his memory of his life in the Hume world also seemed to fade. Shiro would struggle to remember his grandfather, as well as the names of certain cities or states. Soon he had forgotten his grandfather completely, and when asked by Lanryel about things he had told her in the past, he would look down miserably, frowning as he'd attempt to remember what Lanryel would recap to him. Their conversations began dwindling as he forgot more, until the day he simply remained speechless when Lanryel came about. Shiro felt like a large piece of him had been ripped away, and shuddered as he only remembered fragments of his past. He became content with his appearance just as he slowly became all the more content about his fate. It was almost as if he had been reborn once again, but...somewhat incomplete. He had no doubt that even that feeling of loss would be forgotten the longer he stayed there within this land. Shiro entered Thenia's room quietly, sitting down upon the chair he had sat upon so many times. His white hair glistened with the moist drops of water from his bath this morning. "It seems I've changed quite a bit since I arrived here in your world...my body has changed drastically. I'm stronger and faster than I've ever been before. My appearance has changed...I have white hair, long pointed ears, and my eyes are as red as the blood that flows throughout my veins. My life is...different completely, as if I have been reborn. Its all nothing that I've been too worried about, but...I can't remember my past. I can't remember anything, just fragments of people and places that I can't quite put a name to," he said softly to her. "I used to blame you for everything that had happened to me, but now...things are different. I know it wasn't your fault. I've learned much from this place, and how your people are...they are like my people in many ways..." he said softly, but chuckled lightly to himself, but chided once again to himself..."my people..."

All throughout the days that Thenia was lost deep in her slumber, every word spoken by those around her she heard and collected in her subconscious like little treasures in a box. Hanging onto them helped her from slipping into something further than sleep. Though, not matter how she tried, she couldn't muster up the strength to reply. It was as though she was at the bottom of a large body of water, cradled by the gentle ebb and flow of the currents. With what had been happening lately, the recluse of this calming place was hard to leave.
"Maybe they'll forget I am even here, and I can stay forever..." she mused. No more responsibilities. No more danger. No more Father. Thenia realized that it had been him who attacked her, as he had done so before in her younger years whenever she did something to upset him. Understanding why, however was a different matter. Yes, she had not finished the mission he sent her on, but this attack was something different, something bigger than disappointment. This was pure malice.
"Can I go back to him now?" she finally asked herself after mulling it over in her mind for some time.
"I wish you wouldn't..." The voice suddenly rang out closer than those of the others on the outside, a voice there with her in the darkness. It was a woman, she could tell, and although the lack of light made it hard to see, Thenia could make out the outline of the woman who had suddenly appeared next to her. "I can't stand seeing him hurt you like that..."
"But who are you?" Thenia questioned, glad to have some company. The woman chuckled and sat down next to where she lay curled up in a ball.
"Someone who cares for you very much. Who, although we've never met, loves you with all her heart."
"I wish I knew what you meant." Thenia uncurled herself and rose to a seated position, trying to get a better look at the woman. As she rose, a fraction more light illuminated the surroundings, and she could make out more features of the woman. Long ears, like an elf's, and a slender frame. "Strange as this may sound, though, I find myself realizing that you speak the truth. Have you always been in here?"
"For some time, yes. Watching you and everything that has happened. I want you to realize something about your father, apart from what I believe you have just discovered. Before you were born, he was an instrument in the war against the elves, and one of the instigators of the Chaos. During this time, he and his trained black magicians caused a great deal of pain to this world, and drove a great deal of people into the depths of evil. Demons, as they are referred to, were not always so, but with such exposure to the darkest magics pure creatures are corrupted and changed into evil beings. He is dangerous, Thenia, and his intent of extinguishing the Flame is to take control of both worlds..."
Thenia listened silently before raising to her feet. More light appeared, and she looked up at the source that reminded her of the sun. "My time here is done, for now." the woman finally said, and Thenia turned to her. She still seemed a bit out of focus though Thenia could now make out her garnet colored eyes, much like her own. The woman rose to her feet as well, standing slightly taller than Thenia, and smiled taking hold of Thenia's shoulders. The sounds of Shiro's voice were becoming clearer as the woman motioned towards the light. "He's waiting for you, my dear Thenia. Go to him. I will remain here so long as I am needed, so until we meet again..." Bowing her head, she left a soft kiss on Thenia's forehead. A sudden memory rushed back to her, and Thenia sighed. With brows furrowed as the woman began to fade in the light, Thenia had to ask.
"Mother?" Faintly, just before she disappeared entirely, Thenia swore she could make out the woman's smile in reply. The light fully engulfed her, and moments later Thenia opened her heavily lidded eyes onto the changed face of Shiro. She blinked once or twice to help her eyes used to the light of the room, before smiling a weak smile towards him. She had never met her mother, her having died when she was still a baby, though deep down in her heart Thenia realized that the woman was none other. A few tears trickled down her cheek at the thought, and after a moment she found her voice to address him.
"It will be alright, Shiro. You at least have me..."

Shiro gasped slightly as his ears perked to hear a strangely familiar voice. His lifted his head to see Thenia stir slowly from her sleep, and smiled. Although he was from the Hume world, he felt more closer to this girl than he had with anyone from where he was from, and he was almost sure that had he still retained his memory, he would nonetheless still think the same. As Shiro stared at Thenia, he could feel the slight flicker of hope relight within his soul. He had thought that all had been lost since that dark and dreary day, and things seemed to progressively get worse, but today he could see that not all things were lost. He couldn't help, but be curious as to what Thenia thought of his new look now. He had lost an inch or two from his original height since she lost seen him, not to mention his noticeable change in hair, skin, and eye color. He was all the more curious to know if she'd even recognize him now, being that so much had changed since then. Over the time Thenia had been unconscious, he had secretly been practicing with a few of the palace guards in order to improve his swordsmanship. He had even been studying quite a bit of the demonic and elven language since, and it seemed to come almost naturally to him as he studied book after book throughout the week. Many of the elves thought it frightening as to how quickly he had adapted within their lands. Apart from those things, he had also been having nightmares, and throughout the week they seemed to get worse. He had not only changed physically, but his mental state had also undergone quite a change. He easily had less nerve since he left his world, and was not afraid to yell at those whom annoyed him. He had even combated several of those whom spoke about him behind his back. He sent open glares at the king, and when spoken to by Eshe, he quickly just walked the other way. Lanryel seemed to be the peacekeeper over situations like that, always reassuring Eshe that Shiro was just overly stressed.

Everything about his appearance was different than she remembered, but Thenia knew that he was certainly the Shiro who had been by her side for so many days. As the strength slowly returned to her body, she managed to raise her hand and gently take hold of a bit of his hair, running it through her fingers. "I think you look much better with these changes...it seems more natural." she murmured, gazing at him for a few moments before letting her eyes wander around the room.
Unable to tell the time of day based on her surroundings, Thenia wondered if Lanryel was still up. She had also been often by her side and spoke to her as she slept, often singing lullabies that kept her calm. Thenia certainly wanted to thank her, since she realized they were in Lanryel's infirmary and must have been taken care of to some extent by the woman. Finally she spotted her as she appeared from behind a curtained room and smiled as the woman approached.
"Oh, thank the heavens! I am so glad to finally see you awake." Lanryel said, beaming as she approached with a jug and a white cloth. Next to the bed sat a bowl that Lanryel poured the contents of the jug into, the steam from what appeared to be water rising from the surface. She dipped the cloth in the hot water and pulled it back out, ringing a decent amount of the water out before folding it and laying it gently across Thenia's forehead. Instantly, Thenia let out a pleased sigh at how good it felt and she reached out to take Lanryel's hand.
"Thank you so much for taking the time to take care of me." Thenia began with a warm smile, before turning to Shiro. "And for keeping me company..."

Shiro's now pale complexion slowly turned a lovely shade of red before he quickly turned away in embarrassment. "Well think nothing of it", he replied with his back turned to her, rubbing the back of his head and chuckling nervously. He was curious as to what would cause him to act so...well so odd, but quickly shrugged it off spinning back around to face Thenia. " I bet your pretty hungry right now. I mean you haven't eaten in some time, and well...perhaps you'd like to go grab a bite to eat with me in the palace dining room"..."to discuss our next step in our journey to get me back home of course," he quickly retorted so that he can hide the fact that he really just wanted her company. Being stuck within a castle for days on end with such a nuisance of a king drove him insane. It always seemed to him that Eshe kept an eye on him, as if he was in on some secret, and truth be told it made Shiro undoubtedly nervous around him. He bit his lower lip as he anxiously awaited a reply from Thenia, but looked back to Lanryel with a warm smile. "Thank you for all you've done for us. Is there any way I can repay you for treating our wounds, and caring for us? You've already given us so much, and yet I have so little to offer you..." he said softly, his confidence wavering as he repeatedly broke eye contact with Lanryel. He had done that quite often when speaking with Lanryel. The way she spoke, and the warm smile she gave him warmed his heart, almost as if she had been there for him from the beginning. She bore the role of a mother quite well. Nervously he fiddled with a strand of his hair as his deep crimson eyes reflected the room's surroundings. Memories continued to elude him more and more these days, but as the days passed by, he became more content with his situation, besides what good would worrying ever do him. There was little more he could do to remedy the situation. He didn't want to worry Thenia nor Lanryel about his huge gaps in memory any longer. His own last name was now a mystery to him, although the traditions of his family still somewhat lingered in his mind. He was even having trouble placing what he was doing before he came to that world, all he knew was that he had to confront Lanryel's father, and rekindle the flame to the lantern...no more...no less.

Thenia chuckled at Shiro's reaction momentarily before bringing a hand up to cover his mouth. She didn't mean to laugh but his demeanor had evolved so much since she first met him that even if his appearance had been the way it originally was he still would have been a completely different person to her. He was actually...pleasant around her. To think he had threatened to kill her before. As if on cue when he asked if she was hungry she pouted and nodded her her head. She felt completely empty still, and she knew that eating something would help her regain some energy.
"I think that is a wonderful idea." she said softly with a warm smile that only briefly faded as she realized he had mentioned returning home. That's right...he's only here because of me and he never said he would stay... the girl reminded herself sadly. Thenia was silent as he addressed Lanryel who looked between the two of them with an odd, questioning gaze.
"My dear children, your being here is repayment enough. I do not know what I would do if you two hadn't pulled through. Although..." Lanryel paused as a sudden thought came to her and she nodded. "If you insist on a repayment you must promise me that you will return here before you return to your world, when you have succeeded in rekindling the Flame. There may be something I can give you...but now is not the time. For now, the two of you may go eat and don't overexert yourself dear. All in time..." the woman aimed the 'overexert' comment at Thenia, but the last part was for both of them. Thenia in her healing and Shiro in hopes that he wouldn't run into this endeavor without planning things thoroughly. The rules of Heil were quite different from the Hume world, and here the villain was real and extremely dangerous. Smiling to the both of them she excused herself and left the two of them alone once more.
Thenia watched after her, her own thoughts racing. She had never had a mother yet Lanryel was the type of woman she had always imaged when she read stories with mothers in them. Caring and a little stern when needed, knowing and beautiful. Shaking her head she turned her attention back to Shiro taking his hand in her own and squeezing it lightly. "Shall we go then?" Thenia managed with some effort to swing her legs over the side of her bed but as she tested getting up and putting her weight on them she stumbled back. Blushing she looked to Shiro a little frustrated but obviously embarrassed. "I think I am going to need your help..." She admitted sheepishly.

Shiro nodded warmly as he sat beside her on the bed, and placed her arm around his neck. She was very warm to the touch, and his chest pounded rapidly. As they rose, he couldn't help, but keep his eyes off of her face, as if he was searching for what made her so special. What kept him so interested in this girl. He snapped to before she noticed, or at least that's what he assumed. "You know if your ever in trouble...you can lean on me," he said as his hair fell forward covering his face. "Now...shall we go to the dining room? I'll chastise the cook if he gives you a dirty look. Apparently people around here don't like demons. Found that out on one of my few adventures around this place. Apparently I look more and more like one as the days pass..." he said with a smirk. He looked at Thenia and chuckled..."Think I'll get horns like you, and if I do...does it hurt?" he asked slightly concerned. He chuckled, "Yeah right...I'm not turning into a demon...there's obviously no way someone's genetic structure can be changed on a whim. Maybe the knife I was stabbed by had some sort of poison or chemical that made me look like this...who knows..." he said quietly, his words trailing off in the distance. He had much to talk about with Thenia, and wanted to know much as well. As he helped her towards the dining area he went on with what thoughts swelled within his head over the span of her unconsciousness, until he could no longer think of anything. He spoke of his physical changes, how much more stronger he felt since the change, and how much more appealing his look became to him. The spoke of his distrust of the king, his vague familiarity he feels towards Lanryel, and how he had been practicing the sword with a few of the knights about. He went on about the new foods, and smells, and sights, some of which he had never seen before, and of the upcoming festival. He blushed upon realizing he had been doing all the talking and fell silent looking at Thenia. "Forgive me...everything here is still so...new. I've wondered many times what was going through your mind as you laid there...would you tell me?" he chided softly finally arriving at a table in the dining room.

Thenia allowed Shiro to move her arm around his neck and lift her from the bed. She nearly stumbled once upright again but caught herself by leaning in a little closer to the young man. She didn't notice his staring so to speak, though she could feel some sort of change in his mood that she missed as she looked up to him. His eyes seemed so deep she found herself trying to imagine what he was thinking about. Perhaps they were even a little distant...even lost...Thenia smiled at his offer and nodded silently.
He spoke of the palace residents' dislike for demons yet could not pretend to be shocked. From what her father had taught her, there had been great animosity between the elves and demons since they had fallen. Thenia was still grateful that the King hadn't killed her on sight or let her die after being attacked, even if she wouldn't express that to Shiro. He seemed to dislike Eshe greatly and Thenia really wasn't sure why even as he explained. The elven king seemed very kind to her, then again she realized that she was comparing him to her father. The man who had gone too far this time and left her with scars deeper than he realized. Her heart ached with confusion but it merely showed as a brief frown pulling at the corner of her lips.
"You do to some extent, you've certainly changed. Horns? Well if you mean can you feel them if you have them no unless they get fractured or broken. They're pretty much like bone...as for growing them fresh...I wouldn't honestly know." A distant memory threatened to surface, of the first time she could remember feeling her horns as a child. Somehow it almost seemed as if there had been a time when she hadn't had them, but she couldn't remember for sure. When he mentioned the dagger she had hurt him with she looked away. "If there was, I had no knowledge of it..." she admitted softly, knowing it could have been quite within the realm of possibility of Marxes.
Thenia listened intently to all of his stories finding that she just wanted to hear the sound of his voice. The one she heard most when she was resting in the darkness. He seemed to be getting so excited about his findings in Heil that she managed to smile again. When they arrived at the table she carefully sat in a seat near him and thought carefully about how she could explain it to him. "I could hear everyone around me, but couldn't speak. I spent a lot of time thinking about what happened that night...and how I don't know where to go when we are finished with this task. You see, it was...my father who left me with these scars..."
Reaching back carefully with a hand she gingerly touched the raised flesh beneath her simply gown Lanryel had put her in. It still stung and she swore she could almost still feel his heated fury in her mind. Thenia looked to him wondering how he would take that information. "The same man who sent me after you..."

Shiro fell silent at the mention of her father, and stared down at the floor. He thought it best to remain silent on his malicious plan to kill him only after he tortured him slowly. Along with his body, his mind was also changing. His memories began to fade, but his anger...it grew. He worried himself constantly in the previous nights, tossing and turning, wondering when he'd have another fit of anger, and if he'd be able to contain this time. Fortunately for Shiro he had been successful so far. He gripped his thigh secretly under the table sending a shrill pain up his leg as he clenched down. He chuckled lightly releasing his thigh, his anger dispersing at a random thought. "You know what...as vile as your father may be, I have to admit I have him to thank for bringing me to you. I can't remember much about my old life, but from what I gather, I believe I'm happier here. Either way, I have to meet him to make him pay for what he did to you, and how he used you...and oddly enough thank him for inevitably bringing me to you," he said blushing a bright red, and letting his hair fall in front of his face. "You know...would it be all bad if I really didn't go back...I mean...what if I never get my memory back? Maybe it'd be best to stay here...with you," is what he wanted to say so badly to her, but instead remained silent. He had already embarrassed himself enough for one day. He felt oddly bold, and slightly regretful for bearing some of his most personal thoughts. It was out in the open now, so it really didn't matter at all. He chuckled as he broke the silence that had blanketed the area like fresh snow. "You know what...lets eat...we can worry about the rest after we confront your old man."

Blushing Thenia laughed lightly in spite of herself. His mood about her had completely changed and to be honest, she liked it. The more she looked upon his the more she was starting to notice how handsome his features were and there was a strange sensation in her chest she had never felt before yet it wasn't painful. More like wonderful.
She couldn't help but also wonder at his words how much he had lost in terms of his memories. "You've only been here for a short time. And the elven kingdom is only part of this world...my home is very different...I wouldn't make that judgment quite yet, even though I don't know how it was in your world." He was being so sweet and almost shy that she couldn't help but smile. In her home, her father had kept her sheltered in the palace her entire life. She had never received any sort of attention from a young man as she didn't know any. This felt...right though.
Unsure of how to respond to his outburst of thoughts Thenia was secretly glad when the food was brought out to their table by several well dressed servants. "Compliments of his Highness." One informed them matter-of-factly, nodding to his comrades before they all disappeared once again. Eshe had made sure that they treated the two of them as guests not enemies, but she could still see the apprehension in their eyes.
Taking up a small plate she filled it with a little bit of food and began to eat slowly. She didn't seem to have an appetite at the moment, but Shiro's company was pleasing and she didn't think she could sleep any longer regardless. One particular food which turned out to be sugared lotus blossoms suddenly sparked another memory within her, but she could not figure out why. Her father had never let her eat them, and so far as she knew this was her first time eating them. They were delicious and they created such a warm familiar feeling inside her that she couldn't help but take a few more. Curious, to be certain.
