Urai grinned at the man as he accepted the the registration. "Of course, perfectly acceptable." Urai had no idea what circumstances accounted to 'acceptable' but whatever gave him a ship, money and the title of captain was acceptable to him. "Then this meeting is done, I presume. I will contact you when the mission is completely." Urai was getting anxious. If this man really was acting outside of the CAA's hiring committee's jurisdiction, then he didnt want to get caught doing it. The longer they stayed, the more likely the wrong person would see them. Urai pocketed all the resources he had been given as he looked around nervously.

(Sorry I havn't been on latly. My bro fried my computer, literally. Its been in the shop for ever!)
Crag signalled to his men and they dispersed to guard both of the entrances. He then followed the to soldiers down the hallway, into a sort of waiting room and stood around, waiting for his order to go in. "What's up with all the security, its higher then normal since my last job crushing that revolution back on Fargus II." he was woried about this. He hadn't been here in years but still...he coudn't if missed that much, could he?

"One more thing, Urai, here's where you need to go." The man handed Urai a peice of paper with a dock number on it, and it was definitely a military dock. "Do remember to put on your insignia though, the guards might not appreciate it."
With that, the man faded into the crowd.
**************** A Vice Admiral approached Urai from behind, with two guards as well. "We don't even know what's going on, Captain. We lost contact with a bunch of fledgling colonies, and if you follow me..." He led the soldiers and Crag into a holodeck with a command center. "Run sequence four dash six, Luthien." The admiral said to no one, but the holodeck.
The room disolved into space, and the world of Luthien appeared under it, and it was obvious that this was from the docks, specifically a frigate leaving it.
"Roger that, we're on our way, the unidentified fleet is in holding orbit, and it looks like they're moving around, I don't see anything heading down to the surface, man those look like a lot of combat ships."
"Fast forward it."
The image raced forward to see one of the frigate's turrets swing into line with a massive ship that looked like a satelite that had grown millions of times larger then normal. The frigate fired silently, and the shells impacted along one of the wings, and there was obviously damage as atmosphere vented, along with the fire that would accompany it.
All hell broke loose, and the frigate to the left, the same one that had fired, seemed to whither and crumple before exploding.

Crag stared at the fire heading towards the frigates. He stared at the pin point fire. "Those frigates never stood a chance. There shells barley did anything, compared to those, whatever they are. Hmmmm, that fire is to acurrate for human fire, what species are those?" he asked pointing at the ships. "And what the hell is going on? Who are these guys any way?" he wanted to know what he was getting into before he threw his troops into it.

"That's the problem Captain... We don't know either. We have an intelligence operation getting done by an outside source, I believe you saw his ship. Quite frankly, I don't care for our own intelligence gathering efforts. It'd be like blantantly walking into a room with a camera with a massive flash. Get my point? Anyways, we're not asking you to directly put your ship into danger, but your fighter jocks. Your ship is one of the few that can carry over two hundred fighters, so if anything its a distract and annoy mission. If you can keep the pressure up for long enough, the CCAAF will be on the ground, and moving in to clear out any invaders on the ground, and to help anyone's that left alive. Once the marines and armor hit the ground, bug out by all means and come back, we'll have something else for you to do, fix whatever needs fixing, and a paycheck."

"Actually, I think I'll do both. My men are more expirienced in the air and on the ground." he said honestly. He also wanted more cash out of it. "Let me be involved in the ground landing and I guartee it will go faster. Also for any of them we will need to discuss paycheck."

"Payment, is not a issue here, Captain..." The admiral took something out from off a table, and handed the electronic note pad to Clag.
The notecomputer displayed a transfer funds prompt with the number that would be under it blank. It was quite literally, a blank check.
"If anything Captain, you don't need to drop your own men in the mess that would quickly become down there. If anything they might have their own fleet on board, and to pitch in mercenary marines ain't the greatest way of securing a reputation for good pay. I mean, you can if you want to, but we won't pay you extra or anything."

Urai headed quickly out of the bar, clipping the insignia to his coat with one hand and reviewing the dataslate in his other. He found the docking bay number and headed to the lifts that would take him to the hanger level. A few other people cloistered in the lift aklong side him. With the hum of the lift in the background, Urai had to start coming up with a plan. Would he go solo or take on a team? Would he ambush a patrol or go for a troop carrier? He glanced at the card in his hand. With that kind of credit, he could do whatever he wanted. The lift stopped and Urai got out onto the hanger deck. Before he was managed a few paces on deck, an intimidating figure interposed itself between him and pretty much anywhere else he had intended to go.
"You are carring weapons into a restricted area. Let's see some ID." The suggestion was emphisised by a prompting gesture from the much larger weapon in the marine's hand. Security wasn't just tight, it was impenetrable without the right authorization. Luckily, the nervous Urai had pinned the insignia to his coat already, and a cautious hand pointing to it was all that was required. The marine pulled out a device of some sort and scanned it over the badge. He waited for the display and then looked to the other marine still standing guard by the left. The other shrugged, but Urai was suddenly afraid the man in the bar had dupped him. With a wave of relief the armoured figure nodded. "Your clear, acting Captain Urai." The electronic speaker that voiced the sentence somehow still managed to convey the sarcasm with which the man had stressed 'acting.' Perhaps the CAA troops did not take kindly to all the mercenary workers in the ranks.
Urai continued on his way. While he may be able to move about in some restricted areas, no longer being considered a citizen, he obviously could not count on a lot of support from the CAA. That was, perhaps, the idea behind hiring him. He was practically working independantly. Urai found the docking bay where his ship was and entered.
The first thing that struck him was the enourmous ship at dock. Dumbstruck by its sheer size, Urai stood staring at it as it dwarfed the mercenary soldiers standing guard. Even the armour marines on patrol around its dock seemed like ants. An engineer in a white lab coat approached Urai, having been instructed that such a man would arrive. "Captain Urai I suppose?" The engineer did not wait for an answer. "I am the Cheif Engineer, I was told names werent important, so lets get this over with. follow me." With that the man was off, shaking his head at the way Urai gazed at the ships in dock around him. Never had Urai seen such large ships....not this close.

The stealth corvette was nestled into a small berth, seemingly out in the middle of nowhere in the docking bay. It seemed to have blended into the deck and it also seemed to absorb the lighting around it, creating a darker atmosphere then what was possible, without cutting out the lights.
"That's the new stealth corvette you're in charge of. Here's what you need to know about it... Phased directional shielding on the engine vectors, no one's going to track you by engine light, the armor onboard the craft absorbs most sensor arrays, it has a mass distortion array, so no one's gonna know how big you are, and our latest and greatest cloaking device, it'll render you immune to visual and radiation inspection. Now for armaments, you've got six heavy pulse lasers, energy weapons that are ammo dependant, problem is, you can't run the cloaking system and shoot with the power plant we installed. Now if you can fit a bigger power plant or something in the hull, I wouldn't doubt you could, but there isn't anything smaller that can put out more power. Jump-drive is of course included. And, to make things handier for you, we've got a level IV AI installed who can handle Point Defense and electronics, leaving you with whatever you need to do and basic navigation. We've got a holding cell in the back, with multiple enviromental systems, so you should be alright. Any questions?"

"If you do not believe it would make a difference, fine. But it goes with out saying that my men are better trained, better armored, better equiiped and have more experience and jumping high morale. Your men are not as high as mine and I believe I could make the assault much easier. And as for the check....I require a few things, one: You pay for ammo and replacment parts and men and a fairly small fee. This is much cheaper then the other option. Your looking at 100,000,000 credits for the first option and at least 10,000,000,000 credits for the other. So what's your pick?" he asked curiosly.
***** 1st Sergeant Grey was edgey and had every right to be. His commander was inside negotiating and it could wrong. If it did they simple planted charges in the nearest areas, left and then fired all their guns at the station before jumping to a quick FTL get away. Their ship was faster then any of those frigates and it wuold take a lot more then a corvette to destroy them. He looked over at 1st CLS Trooper Harns who was covering the door with a Heavy RF Machine Gun. The other men were spread out guarding the different points of entrence. He shouted too his S-in-C 2nd Sergeant Jaffs and said "It's taking a while." The reply was quick and to the point, Jaffs' style "It always takes along time" this was true, Crag could negotiate for hours.

"I'm hiring you for your naval capacities, not your marines. Repairs? We'll replace armor and ammo, but we aren't going to overhaul the entirety of your ships. Hell, half of the navy's on that list, so... you'd have a good five or six year wait." The Vice Admiral shrugged. "And besides. I'm not paying, the CCA is."
***********
As it was, Asrael was pissed. Not because of any stupidity of the men and women under his command, but for whoever tried to take the communications center back. They had done it, but they didn't keep it for long. Unfortunately, by the time his scattered infantry were able to regroup, they had spammed a message out into space. The attackers were all slaughtered, no doubt about that, since Asrael gave the order to go to live ammo... and they didn't last long, as the fifty caliber, explosive laden slugs did horrendus things to flesh and bone. The last being who survived the initial onslaught of approximately fifty light infantry coming in through the roof, windows, and both entrances AND the sewer access AND the back door, managed to push the button which sent the message, and he lost his arm by Asrael taking it off with a disrupter sword.
Damn his age, he was slowing up. Now he did have a combat pack on, but that was no excuse.

"No I don't expect you too over haul my ship just my fighters. ASnd I'm sure my engineers could, to be frank, fix your ships up. My Master Engineer Angela Hersa fixed an entire fighter out of junk or half destroyed parts and its the best out of all of them. She can make or fix any thing with anything!" he said hoping to earn a few extra credits. "And of course the CCA are paying, I can't expect an admiral too. You can't even afford a fighter let alone my pay check." he said walking out. He walked back to his ship and ordered his men aboard. Sergeant Gray walked up to him and asked "Are we going to get a job?" Crag replied "Yes but you won't be involved it's going to be afighter battle. They don't want ground troops." he said walking into his ship. "Lets get out of here" he said sitting in the captains chair. His ship pulled out of the docking bay into open space and began an orbit of the station.

The Vice Admiral chuckled quietly to himself.
If he only knew that I was paying for him personally, since we're budget strapped...
He sighed, and walked through a hatch which lead him to a CCAAF Battleship, after one helluva tunnel, a lift, and another long tunnel.
After that, he spent another fifteen minutes going through the sprawl that was the battleship. After that, he reached his bridge, and sat down in his chair, which was more like a throne, then a chair.
"Okay, we've got our distractors in place... I'll need to actually tell them what they're up against." With that, he opened a channel, as the ship left its berths.
"CCANBS Hydra to Lusitan actual. This is Vice Admiral Somtaww, the same one who hired you personally, out of my back-pay. In anycase, I forgot to mention one thing. You are to specifically create a distraction for our intelligence operative to get down there. Once you're done with that, you are to meet up with us at the point, and then proceede to assist CCAN fighters and bombers, you read?"

Urai looked at the corvette with a burst of exhileration. One thing for sure was that it was one damn expensive ship. And he was going to pilot it. He was by no means a space cowboy. He had spent most of his time dropping from ships then flying them, but he knew how to appreciate a good ship when he saw it.
Walking to the edge of the catwalk, Urai leaned on the railing as far as he could to see as much of the ship as possible. His eyes began dizzily slipped over the distorted surface of the ship, having a hard time focusing on any one part of it. While it was possible to see it in the docking bay, it would be nearly impossible to get a visual of it against a background of stars.
Urai grinned and turned back to the engineer. "Yeah...I got a question..." he said "...where are the keys."

The engineer chuckled. "Right here," With that, he gave Urai the keys.
The strange thing was, they highly resembled car keys from the twenieth century. The engieer raised an eyebrow and took out a key-card.
"Be careful with that, you'll have to calibrate it to your finger prints which isn't hard to do. Just hold onto for a bit and it'll change color. Then in you go. Just need to put on the hull somewhere and the hatch'll open. I think it's right there..." He pointed to a spot on the side. "Damn passive light benders totally screw what you're looking for if anything."
