Jen began her search in one of the smaller disposal containers as Will'd woes of worries reached her ears; she did let a small smile touch her lips at Nyx's words though.
"Yeah man!" She grimced as she pulled out a rotten banana peel. Wasnt this suppose to be "special" waste? Maybe it had been a mutant fruit? "If you help us, we can find it faster! That way, we can scamper on out of here and you can get back to work!"

Will scratched his head uncertainly, but dug into the search. He did have priorities! Like keeping himself alive or not getting thrown into the brig for shirking duty. Especially if they didn't find it.
"Are you sure it would be in a tube? What if they dumped it out and kept the tube? Would they dump something like that down the sink or something?"
The guard grunt grimaced a bit as he came across broken glass.

"Dear Arceus I hope not..." Nyx kept up her search, even though, through two more bins of junk, she hadn't found anything yet. Her gloves were caked in grime, the only reward for her efforts.
"Where else can we check that isn't the sink? Oh! The dna storage. Where's that? Maybe that haven't thrown them out YET."

Wiping away (or at least attempting to) the grime that clung to the gloves on her hands, Jen listened to Nyx's comment and nodded.
"Its possible. Maybe the higher ups has the bad habit of procrastination? It never hurt to take a look."

"The only DNA storage I know of is that liquid nitrogen chamber I took the other sample out of."
Will pointed across the lab to where it sat. "Over there."
Getting up, the grunt went over and put on a pair of protective gloves then opened the storage unit. However, there was nothing inside.
"So much for that."

Nyx sighed. Maybe she could scrape some of her dna and have Jen clone her...
"Well.." Nyx turned to her friend. "We tried... We should probably head back soon, before Nadja thinks we tried to escape or something."
She pulled one glove off, grabbed a bag from her pocket (always keep plastic baggies on hand.) and sealed her garbage-encrusted gloves inside.

Jen felt numb at the sight of the empty chamber Will had opened; so much for procrastinating bosses. It looked like that sample was long gone now...
Biting her lip, she wanted to say something to make them keep looking (After all, jobs were on the line!) but nothing came out of her mouth. Instead, she stripped the gloves off her hands and threw them into one of the disposal containers before putting her uniform gloves back on.
"Yeah, we should be getting back. Will, thanks for yer help dude." The grunt grinned at the visored guy before waiting for Nyx to step out first. "I wish there was something else we could have done..."

Will looked rather dejected as he closed the container and put the gloves away.
He then shook his head at Jen. "No need to thank me. I got us into this mess. I really screwed up this time."

"Don't worry, I'll have Jen bring some of my DNA here and label it as legendary, then I won't be dead any more." Nyx laughed, it was a joke... mostly... hopefully.
With a parting wave and pathetic looking pout on her face, Nyx left the lab and headed for their vehicle.

"Dont worry, dude. I'll try and see if I can talk to the boss about it..."
Granted, she didnt have any confidence about that but it never hurt to try. With a wave goodbye at Will, Jen followed Nyx out of the lab and towards the car waiting for them outside.
Sliding into the drivers' seat, she gripped the steering wheel and stared at the dashboard for a moment before starting it. There really wasnt anyway of delaying the news...
"Man...this sucks..."

Will laughed... a little, at Nyx's joke, even if was a little hollow sounding.
The red head sighed and then nodded appreciatively at Jen. "Thanks."
At this point, he could use all the help he could get. The man lifted his hand in farewell to the two, before exiting the lab himself.

"At least you're probably in the clear. Unless she's extra angry and needs more than one person to destroy." Nyx buckled up and considered letting all her pokemon out in the back seat to say goodbye to them.
Of course, she was probably overreacting. Probably.

"Look..." Jen turned in her seat and stared at Nyx. "You did nothing wrong and, now that I think on it, neither did Will. True, lengendary DNA is gone but..."
She bit her lips and tried to find the right words as she stared back at the road. "Personally, I would point the finger at the person who gave Will the pidgey DNA container. For what I see, it was all a giant hiccup and there really isnt a person to point a finger at." Jen then grinned as the car chugged onwards. "Didnt the higher-ups threaten him with a paycut and junk when he asked about the missing container?"
Jen pretended to sniff the air around them. "I smell...a set up!"
Lame act, but she was trying her best to cheer her friend up.

"Gasp! A mystery for detective Jen and her Zombie side-kick to investigate! The game is afoot!" Nyx grinned, despite the butterflies wreaking havoc in her tummy.
Eventually the towering form of HQ broke into view over the horizon. Was it just her or did it look especially threatening?

With a laugh, Jen pulled up infront of HQ and jumped out after turning off the car. Somehow...the place did look more intimidating that it did when they had left earlier. But running off now would only make things worse later...
With a deep breath, Jen motioned for Nyx. "C'mon. Lets get this over with. I got your back though, dont worry..."
