Raine nodded. She removed her bag, only to take her coat out, and place it upon her shoulders, before replacing her bag where it once was. Somehow, she had fought against Faita with the clunky bag she usually wore at her side.

She walked over to where he initial weapon lay on the ground. "We'd better hurry. I was supposed to meet my brother somewhere. That was about 5 hours ago." She bent over to grab her weapon up from off the ground.

Suddenly, she jumped to her left. When she saw a gleam in the steel of her sword, it was a big enough indication of attack. A 3 inch dagger hit the ground a foot infront of her weapon. Had she remained in her place for more then a second longer, it would have peirced right through her. There was also something attached to the hilt of the dagger. The tiny flame was enough to give it away.

The little flame ignited the tiny bag attached to the dagger, which was full of highly explosive powder. A loud 'BANG' could be heard from all around. The true intention of the bomb dagger was soon revealed, when a large puff of violet coloured smoke poured all around the two travelers.

The smoke began to clear after a couple of seconds. When it did, what could be seen was anything but expected.

A hooded man stood, holding Raine. Left arm around her neck. Right hand holding her secondary weapon, which had just been removed from it's sheath to be used against her.

The man spoke. His voice seemed dark, and mysterious. "Take me to Diablo...or the woman dies." The man gave off an onimous aura. How did she not sense it before?

Faita turned around to pick up his stuff and start to head away. When he started to turn around, a rather large "BANG" came from right in front of him. He was immediately engulfed in the smoke, and the smoke changed from black to purple within a matter of seconds. He started coughing rather heavily, until all the smoke disappeared, and he felt perfectly fine afterwards.

"Take me to Diablo...or the woman dies," he heard, as he started to open his eyes. He could tell the man was serious, just from the way his head was inside of his hood.

"Di--who--"
he stopped himself, if he didn't know who this 'Diablo' person was, he would kill her for sure, and that was something he didn't want. Raine's face was in fear, so he knew the situation was very serious, "Oh, yes, Diablo, of course, I'll show him to you. Just let me gather my stuff, and I have your word that you won't harm her, correct?"

The mysterious man laughed softly, "we will see what happens. Just take me to him."

Faita couldn't help but notice that Kanin - his friend - had made an appearance behind the mysterious man, and was seeing if he could help. The hood had covered most of the man's vision, so it made it easier for Kanin to attack. Faita started to whistle a tune as he gathered his stuff. The tune was not an ordinary tune, however, it was a type of code to Kanin on the approach on the attack on this man.

"Alright, it's this way. Just follow me," Faita said, as calm as he could, and right then and there, Kanin jumped on the man's head, distracting him long enough for Faita to move very fast and knock him one in the right knee cap, almost crippling his walking momentarily, "Run, Raine, run!"

Raine was held captive. But something didn't sit right with her. There was something oddly familiar about the man holding her captive. She didn't have the time to put her finger on it. Without any notice, a little white fuzz-ball shot out from the trees, aimed at the man's head. He reacted quickly.

All in a matter of seconds, he let go of Raine. Turning around quickly, he used the momentum from the twist to launch Raines sword at the Bunnetti. Before Raine could even react, he had drawn another small dagger, and had returned his arms to their original positions.

The Bunnetti had seen the blade coming at him, and positioned himself so that his little legs hit the hilt of the blade. He then pushed himself off of it, as the sword began to spiral downwards.

The hooded assailant turned around to find Faita a short distance from him. Without much time to react, he recieved a size 10 shoe in the knee cap. It was quick, and somewhat sloppy, but enough to get him off. When Raine felt his grip loosen, she moved with no hesitation.

Dissappearing completely from sight, she appeared behind the man. She was crouched over, on one knee. Reaching into the sky with her right arm, she caught her desending weapon. The ground made a sick 'crunching' noise, as she used her left leg to push herself in the assailants directions. All he had to do to counter was turn slightly, and hold his hand up. His dagger had completely stopped her attack.

As her sword ricocheted off his tiny weapon, a small crack made it's way across his blade. He dropped it, and jumped back. It shattered to peices as it hit the ground. He landed right next to her initial weapon. To be exact, with his hand on it's hilt.

He stood up, and weilded her weapon. Suddenly, his head jerked to the south. Without warning, he took off in that direction. Raine paused. Then it hit her. "s**t!" she said as she took off after him.

She was heading south to meet with Raeka.

And the one the man was seeking...Diablo Darkfire.

((Damon, just follow XD))

Raine was off again, this time chasing the mysterious fellow. Faita looked around, and called out for his friend.

"My friend, where are you? Kanin? Are you there??? I wonder where he--" he was cut off by a flying creature right into his face, "Kanin! You're alright!!"
The little bunneti squealed with happiness, and went into what seemed as a rambling.

"Yes, you did awesome! But we'll never catch up to that pretty woman if we keep on ranting like this, so let's go!" Faita exclaimed, as he started to pick up his stuff. Kanin jumped on his back, and away they went, after their newly aquired friend.

Raine had taken off quite quickly. She was completely gone. Nowhere in sight. The theif would have trouble tracking her. But he never gave up. He kept running. Looking left and right the whole way. Trying to find signs of her. Somewhere. Anywhere. But nowhere was she found.

It's a good thing he was concentrating on his hearing, in hopes to find a sign of battle. Had he not been carefully listening, he would never have heard...
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The sound of leaves ruffling around in the wind. That was the main audio presentation of this forest. But for a slight instant, this orchestra played a different tune. A very noticably different tune.

The tune that can only be made wood cracking. A silent hymn that steel makes when cutting through the air. Accompanied by the loud thuding heavy boots make when hitting the dirt. And what might you ask caused this performance to make such a drastic change in mood...?

A vigalante, so to speak. As the dagger flew through the air, straight out of the tree, it's holders weight caused the branch to give out, and gravity took the roll of throwing him to the ground. Because of the unexpected caving of the branch, the assailants throw was off, so he was most likely to miss.

When the body hit the ground, it feel into a slight forward roll. A shorter, youthful male stood, drawing his weapon. He wore a pair of dark goggles over his eyes. Long black hair covered most of his head and a bandana covered his mouth. He wore very casual clothes. Rough jeans, a t-shirt, vest that resembled a life preserver jacket. He wore thick black gloves on his hands, and his entire left arm was wrapped in white clothe. He wore big black boots, ones that'd really hurt if you got one in the face. He was also equipped with a large variety of blades. The one he bore now was about 3 and 1/4 feet long katana. Just a normal looking sword.

He looked no older then 15 years old. He gave his warning. "Be gone from here. You are not welcome. Leave! Or else!"

How long has it been? he started to think. Surely she couldn't of been running for that long. The forest can only be so big, right? He kept running. Argh, I can't believe she's actually that fast. How is that physically possible?

The lush terrain of the forest felt soft against his feet, he figured that was the reason he was able to keep running for quite some time. fifteen to twenty minutes now, at least. He was looking for any sign of the lady, anything at all. He had to find her, she needed his help on taking this.... this fiend on. As he ran, all he could see in his mind was that cloaked head, the dark energy the man was giving off. Almost as if it was haunting him.

No, we have to concentrate on the task at hand!

Faita was listening. Listening for anything. The clash of two blades. A battle cry. anything to give away where Raine was. But nothing. No, there wasn't nothing, just the sounds of the forest. He looked left. just tree after tree. Nothing else. He looked to his right. All he could see was the occasional forest critter and the foot of his companion, Kanin.

Every fourth step, Faita was gazing at the ground. He was looking for any sort of difference in terrain. Flattened grass. A broken flower. Anything. Faita was an exceptional tracker, you see, and could pick up any trace hints, no matter how much you covered it up. But, this seemed as if she was walking on air. He continued to listen as carefully as he could.

crack!

Faita slowed down, but didn't stop. It was probably just a branch cracking from age, but he had to make sure.

snap!

There it went. Faita stopped. That snap came too quickly for nothing to cause it. He turned around and started to walk towards where the sound came from, only to be frozen in fear by a sound whizzing just right of his ear. Someone was attacking from somewhere, and Raine was probably nearby.

Thud.

He turned around to see a man standing behind him. No, it couldn't be a man. His shoulders would be broader. Judging from his height, and lack of skin showing, he was probably trying to hide his age. No older than 16, but no younger than 14. The boy heeded him a warning, but from the rate Faita's heart was going, he only made out that he wasn't welcome.

Faita stood up straight, and started to state, "Kid, I don't have time for this right now. I think it'd be in the best interest for us both if you just stepped down and let me go by,"
he started to unsheath his sword, "I don't wanna do anything I'd regret. Now dont think I'm underestimating you, I just really need to go find someone."

Faita prepared for what could be his first actual battle, as he shooed away Kanin.

Here we go....

"Step down? Never!" he exclaimed. "My master gave me a specific order not to let anyone through. Guess what buddy. That includes you."

He tightened the grip he had on his sword. His strance looked very proper. As though he had been a samurai for decades. He shifted his body. Steping foward with his left foot, he now showed his left side to his opponent. He then lifted his weapon up infront of his face, so that the blade itself faced upward, and the tip faced towards the foe.

He meant business.
((Bleh, short))

Faia seemed confused by his comment. Master? This boy takes orders from someone else? What a loser....

"Well, in my opinion, I'm not just anybody, I'm a somebody. Somebody who's starting to get really mad. Somebody who doesn't want somebody else to get hurt. You don't have to let anyone through, but you're GOING to let someone through," Faita, for the first time in a really long time, was starting to get angry. he hadn't felt the adrenaline like this flow through his body since...

No, don't think of that..

Faita finished taking his sword out of the sheath on his back. His hands fully extended above his head, he could hear the sound of the blade humming through the air, as if it was cutting out all sounds around him.

Ahh, I used to love this sound...

As he brought down the sword to his side, he replied to his own statement, "Now, I know what i said was kinda harsh there, but I really need to get to this girl. You let her through, didn't you? Just because you couldn't catch her, doesn't mean she's an exception. And what about the man she was chasing? I know you know what I'm talking about." He started to walk towards the young boy, "Now, if you wish, I will... 'accompany' you on your way to get these two out of 'your' forest, but I must find her, she is in great danger." Faita put his hand on the boy's blade and pushed it off to the side ever so gently.

By now, Faita was up in his face. He wasn't scared of anything at all. Not the blade in the boy's hand. Not the other blades on his body. Not even that weird rustling that was coming from the trees. Nothing scared him. He just had a goal.

"Unless, of course, you'd rather settle this mono a mono..."

The youth stood his ground. The sound of air passing through his lips on the way to his lungs, then back out, were the only sounds heard all around. The forest was chillingly silent all of a sudden.

"The only soul I saw pass here was my master. And if you're after her then I deffinatly can't let you pass! No matter what your reasoning is! She told me to gaurd this entrance with my life.

You'll have to kill me if you want to get through.
"

He moved his left arm quickly, placing it on the hilt of a dagger attached to belt behind his back. Just as quickly as he had placed his hand there, he had thrown the dagger at Faita.

He placed his right hand (holding his weapon) behind his back, so his blade was vertical, adjacent to his back. His left hand was infront of his right arm. His index and middle finger extended while all others clinched tightly. His fingers pointed straight up. His head bowed slightly and (unveiwable) his eyes were closed.

He opened his eyes. Locking down on the target. The dagger he had thrown wasn't even half way to the foe at this point. No doubt, he was fast. He then quickly shot forward from the spot he stood. Running slightly quicker then the dagger, but not enough to get in front of it. He held his weapon horizontally, so it spread out away from his body. A few feet away from Faita, he shifted slightly. Bringing his left hand to his weapon, he was now ready to strike.

A quick flick of the wrist, and the sword was now heading towards the 'target'. He was probably quick enough to block the dagger, that was heading for his right shoulder. With a split second difference, was he going to block the sword that shot up furiously towards his left rib cage?

Faita sensed that something was about to go down, so he jumped away so he was about twenty feet away, instead of two. It would give him more reaction time. As he jumped back, the boy started to talk.

"The only soul I saw pass here was my master. And if you're after her then I deffinatly can't let you pass! No matter what your reasoning is! She told me to gaurd this entrance with my life. You'll have to kill me if you want to get through"

The forest was silent, he noticed it. no sounds could be heard, nothing but the movements of the two enemies standing across from one another. Why is it so quiet? It doesn't make sense..

himmmmmmm

What was that sound?
he looked back towards the boy.

himmmmmmm

What is that? Faita quickly realized that he faced a problem. This boy was fast, he had moved so quick, that there was now two blades on their way for him, left and right, and it looked like the boy followed right behind them. If it weren't for the slight shimmer coming down from the sun through the trees, he wouldn't see the glare on the smaller blade, thus wouldn't be able to detect it, allowing it to hit him. The blades were about ten feet away now, just over half way towards him. He had to think. Fast.

Faita took one step to his left, and placed his hands in front of him. He meant no harm to this boy, but had realized the only way he was getting by was if he made him slower than Faita himself. as the dagger flew beside his right shoulder, he placed his hands infront of his stomache, and ever so carefully, but quickly, he grabbed the blade of the sword.

Hah, lessons with the old man paid off afterall... thanks old man.

Faita then quickly took the blade, and shoved it forward, so that the handle went straight into the boy's gut, hoping it would knock the wind out of him. The boy was moving too fast to dodge the counter. His speed was only going to make the contact worse. As the boy's body collided with the handle, he quickly spun out of the way, as the blade would shoot back at him, and he grabbed another blade off of the boy's body while he kicked his own sword up to his hand. Quickly, he jumped back to seperate the two again.

The less weapons, the better. I have a feeling I didn't do much to you but anger you.

((I so bailed you out there man, I was right in your face XD))

The boy lifted himself up from the ground where he landed. What happened? He moved too fast to notice his opponents movement. Was he able to attack? He looked up quickly to find his opponent holding his weapon by the blade, but he quickly grabbed it by the hilt. He also noticed that one of his weapons had been disarmed. He was practically weaponless.

But there was one weapon the opponent could never take away...

The boy quickly stood up. He pulled down the clothe that covered his face. Shifting his head to the left, then again to the right, he cracked his neck. He did a few leg stretches before standing up straight again. He lifted both his arms into the air, above his head. Suddenly, he jerked them down and held them infront of his face. A battle stance.

The one weapon that could never be stripped away...

The boy was more then to be underestimated. He shot forward again. But this time, he moved as a blur of colour. His features weren't even visible. He didn't waste time. He moved very quickly. Aiming with accute precision, he struck as many pressure points on the enemies body as he could in a short amount of time. All he managed to get was a strike to the right jugular, disarming the foe, and a strike to the point under his jaw and the very back of his neck.

This fighters ultimate weapon was his own body.
