Nyx tossed Newton in the back. She heard his answer on time and made a face.
"Two or three days? What, are we going point five kilometers an hour?" Nyx was sure Camphereon town wasn't THAT far away.

"Slower." He pulled out driving at a normal speed out of the garage, with a small grin. She wasn't stupid, that was good.
The charmander looked at the balloon who had invaded her back and stuck her tongue out at him. "Char!"

"So, Panther. What is it you do? Besides escort scientists to Camphereon town?"
Newton gasped at the Charmander. So she wanted a fight? Well, alright then. He grabbed either side of the mouth in the center of his X and pulled it wide, sticking out his tongue at the other pokemon. "Floooooooooooooon!"

"Mostly stare at sand." he shrugged. "I'm hoping to move soon."
Startled she stared a moment and then sent a small flame out of her mouth at him.
Panther slammed a hand on the dashboard. "You two! be good back there! Or I'll turn this thing around and dump you both back at the HQ!"
Tears sprung to the chramander's eyes and she started crying.

Nyx sighed. Look like conversation wouldn't be a likely time-passer. She rolled down the window and propped her head up with her hand.
"Floon!" The Drifloon jumped back as far as he could and bounced off the side of the car. He rubbed the upper part of his balloon-self. Newton cringed when he heard the Charmander start crying. What was it doing that for? Ugh. He attempted to calm her down by patting her head.

He dropped into silence, driving a route only he could see through the sand, navigating with some ease. He didn't mind the silence and simply flicked on the radio to fill the void as the sand passed by.
She sniffed, trying to calm her self down, tail in her lap as the tears ran down her face. Her human didn't like crying much... and she knew why she was in trouble.

Newton shrank and expanded to all sorts of sizes, trying to cheer up the baby Charmander. "Floon, floon, floon!"
Nyx waved her foot around to the music on the radio. Now she wished she would have grabbed a book or her notes or something to do.
(time warp!)
Eventually silhouettes of buildings came in to view. Nyx sat up in her seat and grinned. They were almost there!

Nika calmed and giggled at the balloon type as he made funny shapes.
((everybody do the time warp Dance!))
Finally, they were almost there. It wasn't that long of a drive, but it felt like forever, for someone who just got off work. "Pull out the directions and read them off to me as we head in.
The young charmander had fallen asleep on the ride, head against the door and her tail held in her lap.

Lucky for everyone, Newton also fell asleep. He was cuddled up next to the little Charmander. The sight would have been adorable if anyone but the two Rockets in the car had been there.
Nyx pulled the directions out and read them off to Panther. They still had a while, considering city driving was slow. If there was one thing about cities that Nyx didn't miss, it was traffic.

He listened and turned getting them on the back streets, going exactly the right speed. He did not want any cops pulling them over. In a relatively short amount of time, they arrived, pulling around back and parking.
As the car stopped the fire lizard in the back woke up, yawning with her teeth showing.

"Alright..." Nyx stretched in the seat before unbuckling her seat belt and turning around to grab Newton.
He protested sleepily, but was content to dangle by one string. He looked around briefly before going right back to sleep.
Nyx started walking around to the entrance.

"Now that is something," Panther commented, slightly amazed by the pokemon's ability to sleep while being pulled around by it's trainer. He reached around and picked up the half asleep charmander setting her on the ground outside. "You have to walk, or you can get in your pokeball, I'm not babysitting you."
"Char...." she yawned again, but managed to stay on her feet. It was nap time, but she didn't want to be left behind.

The place they had parked was what looked to be an abandoned subway station. The stairway down into the remains of the terminal looked to be less than reliable.

Walking to the terminal, Panther quickly assessed that the stairs were not his choice of getting down. He walked around a bit, looking for another way down and tell tell clues on if anyone else has entered recently. He did not like the feeling of not knowing how exactly to get in, and double checked the file. Why did everything have to be cryptic in an evil organization?
Behind him the charmander fallowed his every movement, not understanding what they were doing, but enjoying the open air.

Newton woke up and yawned loudly. Where did the moving box go? Oh. What was down there? The Drifloon wriggled free of his partner's grasp and floated over to the little Charmander. He pointed at the hole going down and motioned for her to grab on to his strings.
Meanwhile, Nyx wasn't paying attention to what Newton was doing. She was wondering whether or not those stairs were safe to go down, and how they'd manage to keep going if they weren't. Maybe they were over thinking it, but it was the nature of scientists to over think. Or at least this one.
