Sometimes it seemed he didn't have free time these days so much as stolen hours while his code was compiling. Even for someone as technologically oriented as he was, there were times it got to be too much. The desert was too cold at night for a walk, (and after the Galactic incident he wasn't sure he'd be mistaken for an intruder and shot,) so a little light training it was.
The pale Glaceon at his side stopped at the crash and shout of "THA SHE-DEVIL!" down the hall, ears perked; Hayes looked down at her and shrugged with a faint little smile. He'd seen his partner heading that way moments before.
The door opened one more time, admitting the blond and his Pokemon, who both stopped at the sight of the gathered crowd as the door swung shut behind them.
"Whoa, okay," the Rocket laughed. "Busy night. Hey Nikki." He adjusted his glasses and offered his partner a smile, noting a few other familiar faces in the room. Nemerle huffed quietly, surveying the area in silence.
Behind him, the door mechanism uttered a quiet 'fzzt' and the light on the keycard reader winked out.

Noticing her pokémon had finished their break snacks, Akemi picked up the bowls, as well as her bag which had been under the bench, getting ready to leave as the growing crowd made her grow all the more uncomfortable. She'd wanted to train a little longer, but decided to call it a day after all.
"Okay guys, let's head back to the dorm and come back for training in the morning", she said before recalling her pokémon into their balls. She noticed Hayes just as she reached the door, giving him a smile in greeting.
Finally, she grabbed the door handle and twisted.. It didn't open. She ran her keycard through the reader.. Nothing. "Oh no.." she muttered, trying once more.
"We're locked in!" she finally cried out.

Looking over at the door, Max blinked once. "What?" He stood up, took a step, and fell off the bleachers. How graceful... As he picked himself up, he went over to Akemi, looking at the door. "Did you just say... We're locked in?" Behind him, Kunal had discovered the other Drifloon and attached to it with a happy "Floon!"

"What?" Nyx closed the distance between the training dummies and the broken door. She pulled her goggles down over her eyes. It helped her to concentrate. "What do you mean, locked in?" The tiny grunt crossed her arms and peered at Akemi, her eyes magnified by her goggles.

"um" not sure what he was talking about at first, but "shup shup" sounded like Shuppet... right?, she pondered his question for a moment wondering if she had seen one fly in at any point while she was distracted with the crowd. "The only Shuppet I've seen is mine" she said, gesturing to her ghost type by the Drifoon. She made an effort to scan around the room though. "it might be invisible, I know mine tends to do that sometimes"
'we're locked in'
stopping her search around the room for a lost ghost type to look over to who had said that... Akemi and Hayes by the door. Akemi was clearly trying to open it, and it wasn't opening. great... "I guess you kicked it harder then even you expected" she told the other grunt. "hope your missions not to soon"

Door locked?
What the-? Picking herself off the bleacher to stand a bit behind Max and the gal in uniform, Jen glanced at the keycard slot and pulled out her own.
"Here, let me try mine. Maybe a new one might fare a bit better." Gently pushing Akemi over a tad, the gal slipped the card and waited for the confirming "beep".
.......Nothing. She tried again. .......Nothing.
With a huff, Jen spun around and stared at the blond guy with glasses. "Hey boss dude person. Does this door only open from the outside when its locked? Or is there another door in here we can try and get through?"

The tiny Grunt could hardly believe it herself. She looked at the card reader, finally noticing that the small light on it was off.
"The door.. it won't open! I think the lock's busted!" she said, her voice a little frantic as she turned to Max and Nyx. It was the only explanation - the door didn't just glue itself shut. Something must have broken the electronic lock when they all came in.
She heard Faleen talking to Sorano. "No, a kick wouldn't do this, it's an electronic lock after all.. maybe it short-circuited or something, I don't know.. but we have no choice but to wait until someone comes - most likely it'll take until morning!" she groaned, walking back to the benches and slumping down, the pain in her side rushing back after being pushed aside by another female Grunt.

Picking herself up, Teil headed over to the dummy - which Rebar was viciously assaulting with various Tackles and Bites. Such a self-taught little gem, her Pokemon.
It was only the cry that made her look up, to find the same Grunt she had seen before at the door. The expression on her face made Teil's heart sink. "Locked... What? Really?" She groaned, unable to hold it back.
Locked in made little difference to Rebar, currently standing on top of the training dummy and gnawing helpfully at an arm. "'Eveeeeee?" She chirped curiously.

At first, Sorano wanted to throw a fit. His late night drama was to be beginning soon and he had no disks to record it. However, there was a bright side to this. He would not be doing his mission. Oh happy day!
Scratching the back of his head, Sorano smiled sheepishly though an explanation that his kick probably wasn't the cause was given. "It might jus' be a small problemo, y'know? Give it some time, may-be it jus' needs ta cool down . . . er' somethin'?"
Since technology wasn't his strong point, Sorano was just guessing. But sometimes guesses could be right.

"I wasn't being serious" she said to Akemi "I'm well aware of what it would take to shut something like that down, I'm assuming its built to withstand taking hits from pokemon attacks. a human kicks would not have done anything" she replied pointing to the door with a slight contemplative frown. She arched her eyebrows slightly looking over at the door and the lock, watching as a few more of them tried to use there key cards to unlock it.

Electronic... Max looked at Faleen, "So... Should I have Jayanti shock it? She IS a Pikachu..." The yellow rodent Pokemon leaned forward on Max's shoulder, letting out a "Chu!" in response. "That or we can just try to blow the door up." What were the doors made of, anyway?

"I dont think shocking it will help, Max."
Jen withdrew from the gathering group and glanced around at the people with one finger tapping her chin. Blow up? Probably not going to work either. The base was, no doubt, made of sturdy stuff.
"Hm..." Thats when a small idea hit. "What about a strong pokemon using something like Body Slam or Strength against the door? Maybe they could knock it down?"

Hey," Hayes smiled at Akemi and stepped aside to let her pass. Nemerle followed suit, turning back to look at the grunt with a slight inclination of her head.
When the girl cried out, Hayes quirked a brow. "Well hold on-" he started, before Jen pushed her way through. The agent - though that wasn't immediately obvious since he was in a pair of jeans and a faded t-shirt reading 'I void warranties.' - waited while the other grunt tried her card once. Twice.
The blond's expression settled back into a mellow smile in the face of her questions - and then someone suggested blowing it up. Or knocking it down. "Uh." He looked up at Max, then at Jen. "Hold off on that."
The agent moved over to the reader and fished around in his pocket. "It's probably just a loose wire and that's easy.." Huh. He tried his other pocket. "..to.."
Where was it.
"..well damn."
Nemerle huffed. He turned around. "Hey Faleen? Got your tools on you?" He thought he'd heard her voice.

"Interesting hypothesis... but these rooms may be super-reinforced... keep damage to a minimum during extensive training sessions.... No reason not to test." She stared at the door, thinking.
Newton floated around the Shuppet. "Floon?" He put up his tassels in imitation of a boxer. He wanted to play.

"Well if they aren't," Hayes pointed out, "I'm pretty sure it's coming out of our paychecks."
