People can fly, they're called pilots.
No, people really can't fly.
People have built machines that have the ability to fly, and people called pilots can get inside these machines and make them fly.
That doesn't mean a Pilot has the ability to fly by himself, here merely has the knowledge and ability required to manipulate an apparatus that can fly with the pilot inside.
The object known as "Man" has no inherent function that enables him to fly by his own means. He has to use external means. Therein lies the difference.

Magical science is supposed to be an oxymoron.
But, when we're talking about a goddamn game that is a hodgepodge of traditional Japanese ideas with a smidge of modern thought, then you have to accept that there has to be science, and there has to be magic, but in the end trying to justify it all is pretty damn stupid.
