Zack sighed and said "I suppose that I can do that, your the teacher so you can decide how things go, I am simply here to learn and for protection. Meeting new people who don't want to kill you is just a bonus." He smiled as the corners of his lips showed themselves above his scarf.

"Very well. For the next spell, the action which is easiest to take is raising the arm, either is fine, to mid-chest or shoulder. The spell itself will summon rocks, sometimes even dirt, or earth to your arm-forming first a thick brace about it before expanding outward in a small shield. It's a defensive spell, and changing the first word changes the material used: this, however, has it's differences. While water may be able to naturally repair itself while being able to harden into ice, it is vulnerable to fire magics and fire based attack. Earth can be washed into a less effective shield or battered to pieces over time by a sword or mace. I've talked enough, here's the spell: 'Terra contego'," Raine said as she subconsciously went through the actions herself and earth jumped to her arm, "Drat. Ah well, even I mess up sometimes-usually with my element-and cast accidentally. At least it wasn't an offensive spell or curse this time."

Zack rose his arm as instructed and took a deep breath saying "Terra contego!" Rock flew up and covered his arm as Zack gasped hoping it was not going to crush his arm. Instead of crushing the rocks stood up and quickly formed a shield. He sighed with relief and smiled as he looked at his arm.
