Anacaona thought there was something not right. This colt she had come across through her wandering, had said he would help her out of the forest but so far, nothing had seemed familiar. He was really pushy about her following him too. She tilted her head and with a nervous tone had to confront him.
"E-excuse me! I don't think this is t-the right way. I-im sorry." She sighed gently, looking either way. Shivers ran down her spine; the branches were looking like they would reach out and capture her, keeping her there for an eternity. She didn't like that thought very much.
"Just keep quiet. I'm helping you, aren't I?" He snorted, as steamy air fled from his nostrils. His eyes were a glowing red, intimidating. She tried to search the now, night sky for her stars but the tree tops were too cluttered and intertwined. She was scared. She thought back to her mother and father, that were at home safe, not having to listen to the twooting Owl's or growling and rustle's. her tiny body began to quiver and even though she didn't trust this Kalona, knowing what her mother had said about them, it was her only comfort. She decided to edge closer to him.
"I'm s-scared." She sniffled. She just wanted to be home! The male scoffed and shifted away from her in a hurry. He swiftly turned and bit at her coat, glaring at her.
She yelped and hopped aside, his eyes were as if he was staring straight through her. She followed the smirk with her eyes as it grew tauntingly along his maw and then she realized. Red beady eyes were appearing in the darkness and they were circling all around her. Menacing laughter echoed through the air and Anacaona pushed her body tight to a tree closing her eyes.
"My mother was right. Y-your going to eat me." She quivered, tears forming What had she gotten herself into!? She tried to think positively, that he would be nice and help but, it wasn't helping. The thoughts of never seeing her family again came to mind and she was off! Tears flooding either cheek.
Silence fell and she opened her eyes. The male had not moved, nor had the eyes vanished but their gazes were all still, looking towards one spot behind her. In the silence, bells filled the air. A soothing melody. It was soft and gentle, like it cleansed your soul. Like a herd of gazelle the eyes scattered, the kalona male looked lost and bewildered until a mare jumped from within the bushes, and nudged him quickly with her horn. They both galloped into the darkness of the forest and left her. She was trembling, they feared whatever was coming towards them. If they didn't stand a chance then she didn't have any hope!
She lifted her head at the sound of hooves and a head was a bright light, she had to squint hardly being able to make out the brilliant white glow. It started to move away and she panicked. "No! No! Please... Please, wait!" She called, stumbling after it. She tripped on vines, rocks and headed towards a bush but when she pushed straight through there was the open field, where the star ocean shone above and the light that had guided her, was flying among them towards her home by the beach. She smiled warmly and shed a tear of happiness as she started to race the light along the plains.
'Thank you, my guardian angel for keeping me safe and helping me return to my wonderful family.'
Anything else? The names I thought would suit in the family and the basket itself are Aztec. I had a lot of fun writing the prompt reply and the personality I had come up with just worked through my fingers writing it. I would love to be apart of the family and I'd love to keep in touch and Rp with you when you get time to again in the future! Thank you for holding this contest. <3
