Choto looked up with wide eyes. "Did you just?" She half sat up, so she could look at him. "Get over here, out of that water. What are you asking?" She waved her tail lightly, he seemed to be a nice guy. But....he couldn't ask what she thought he was trying to from all the way over there. What if his size made her feel uncomfortable when he got nearer, they'd just met, and well hadn't even brushed pelts.

"No, no, no, no... not that... I'm not asking that.." he left the water and shook himself off, far enough away that she wouldn't get drenched, then he made his was over to her and flopped down. "I was offering you a place to stay, if you ever got tired of living in a Den that... as you put it, "Smells funny". I didn't mean... well, what it sounded like..." he scratched his snout with one of his paws and looked at her sheepishly.

Choto smiled gladly that he didn't drench her again, more points for being a gentleman. "Mhm if you say so Jacob." She told him teasingly and then got up, and laid half down on his flank, his fur still cool from the water. She stretched her muzzled out across his back. He did feel good and he smelled good to boot. "......you don't smell funny." She blushed that sounded odd.

He found himself strangely comfortable just then and he gazed at her, he was curled up slightly so he looked a bit like a crescent in shape. His head was resting on his front paws and his eyes were trained on her, and as she rested against him something strange happened. He felt a connection form between them, and the beauty and color of everything around them seemed to fall away and it felt as though he could fall into an abyss of nothing if she hadn't been laying on him, like she was anchoring him there. He released a long breath he didn't realize he'd been holding and he blinked. "You don't smell funny either." he responded, giving her side a little nudge with his nose.

Choto grinned, "That's good to hear" She murmured and bumped him back with her nose and then with a mechevious look licked his cheek. "You alright? You're looking at me a little funny?"

His tail wagged and softly he returned the lick. He gave her a soft smile before murmuring, "I am better than ever, actually..." he was quite satisfied to just lay there with her in this beautiful place, letting the time pass them by. He murred softly, a simple sound of contentment. "I'm just very comfortable and happy right now," he added as an after thought.

"That's wonderful to hear" Choto murmered, settling neatly down to be laying next to him. He was getting a bit warm to be laying on top of him but he was comfortable. "You're comfy."

"I'm glad you think so." he murmured, then he turned his head to look at her again. He curled a bit so he could reach her better and he began to groom her, his tail wagging behind him as he did so.

Choto shivered just a bit, her fur shifting and then settled. She turned her head a bit more to coincide with his and licked his ear till it flattened on instinct just to be a stinker, even though his grooming felt really good she couldn't help but wave her own tail till it smacked it's own little beat in the grass. "I think..." She started but couldn't bring herself to finish and went back to licking his coat clean of water droplets left over from his swim.

His deep brown eyes watched her for a few moments in silence before he gently nudged her side. "You think...?" he prompted softly. He smiled at her gently, waiting for her to reply.

Choto tipped her head trying to make herself finish the line. "I think....I think I could uh um.......settle here..." She hid her muzzle under a paw, pinned her ears half back and managed to look away from him. "with you."
