"Otta, you look like a bear wit a tailz." Jade smiled shyly and then grimaced a bit. "Panda's are bit ofs both. I hav spotz." She nodded, that seemed like a total legitimate answer...and a good one at that. The panda girl looked down upon the otter boy as he attempted to hop around like a frog. "Yer silly." Her eyes danced as a tiny giggle escaped her lips. "You see a froggy before?" Jade asked rather curiously, she had in the stream by Caroline's manor once.

He was a bear ? Why did nobody tell him before ? Jacosa stopped in his movements for a moment and blinked. Really ? "Me wanna have spots. Look, me is speshial. Just one." He opened his mouth slightly and revealed his tooth. There were a few more of course, but the second one was missing at the upper half. "We don' know why." That's something he had heard from Andraste.
At first Jacosa wasn't sure if Jade had insulted him. When Mommy said silly it usually meant he had done something, she wasn't fond of. But the panda girl giggled so friendly that the otter decided just to nod.
"Yesh. He can fly." Jacosa remembered meeting Kaeru at the Fourth Wall building and how he had gotten a swelling, because he had tried as well. Hadn't worked out though. "Jade, knows frog ?"

"Spotz..." Jade whispered and gazed at his missing tooth. "Wow!" she nodded, was he getting old and loosing all his teeth? "Froggie, nos. I hold froogie a day." The panda girl smiled, she remembered how Mia forced her to hold the frog at the creek, how Jade squirmed away. That was until Mia plopped it into her paws; it was a very interesting experience. Suddenly the hoarse voice of Tabitha rang in the air. "Mssss. Jade we go nowsss." The older woman had yelled, even when she was face to face with Jade. The panda girl grimaced, but managed a small sheepish grin. "Bye bye boy!" She waved her paw as her other one was placed in Tabitha's. Alas, the panda girl did not know this boy's name...but she was bound to see him again, right?

An otter and a pregnant woman were walking up the house. "This is the address, Jacosa." Andraste said as she looked at the little piece of paper on which the house number and the street were written. She had copied them this morning out of the telephone book.
The otter was carrying a little pink box. He was awfully proud to carry such a precious present and gently put it down in front of the door. Jacosa looked at Andraste who just nodded and moved onto his toes to ring the bell. As quickly as possible he moved back towards his mother and they went away.
A small paper on which wobbly letters were written was attached.From Jacosa HaLLo jard Jade.

Jade rubbed her eyes as a rude little shove woke her from her deep sleep. "Wha'?" She instinctively responded with a grimace upon her face.
"Ms.ss sorray for waking you upsss, but there be a pakcagessss for you." Tabitha kindly responded with a faint smile.
Jade quickly sat up, her scowl turning into a smile, she never got mail!
Tabitha handed her the box, and held the piece of paper between her fingers.
Jade gazed at the box, it was so beautiful! She opened it slowly to peek inside, and to her surprise a delightful sound came out. The toddler gasped, this was probably the best mail a girl could get! Jade glanced up at Tabitha; she could just squee her heart out!
Tabitha looked down at the note in her hands with a grin. "I read it too you, ms.sss?"
Jade nodded, slowly reclining back on her pillow, her furry arms hugging the box against her chest.Quote: " HaLLo jard Jade. Tis is foa you. It makes musik. Cosa"
Jade's ears perked up; after all she did know the otter boy's name! Jacosa, cosa! Politely she snatched the note from Tabitha and smiled as she placed it in the box.

Letter to Cosa.? Dear Cosa',
I really enjoy your company, so thus I declare ourselves pen pals. Caroline has gotten your address for me, so I guess we could keep in touch this way. Caroline heard at the gmfc that your mommie had her baby, is it a boy or girl? I like babies, I don't think my mom is going to have one though. Notice I can write now? I think I'm starting to write better than I read, but I do enjoy going to the library a lot. That's where I mostly go. I'm not this good at writing; I made Tabitha correct my letter so everything was perfect, I wanted it to be understandable.

I hope my letters don't curse you and make you get hurt. Nila, that's pretty and blue skin! I never saw blue skin before, except in the books. I bet she's adorable and fun. I would love too, I wish I had a little sister. OO, moving. I moved when my mommy left. I have a room in Caroline's house, she made it up for me. The walls are white. My favorite color is red or teal. I like colors...
Thank you! I sure love reading, maybe I could read to Nila? I've been reading the violet fairy book, it's about fairies. I got a bracelet from my mommy, she sent it in a letter...I think you would like it. I keep it in my music box you gave me. Also, I have a kitten named Page. She's silly! I'll bring her to visit too, when I go to see Nila and you.

almost-sorta-sisterly love "Mia!" Jade rushed after the frisky toddler, her paws clenched at her sides.
Mia simply smirked back at Jade as she held her book tight to her chest and skittered away. "You no red!" She whined, stopping short; Jade had refused to read her a book.
"I don't have to read to you Mia." Jade gnarled back at her, she had enough of Mia for the day and certainly wasn't going to read with her. The panda gal didn't exactly hate the little girl...she didn't hate her at all. However, Jade rather be alone than play or read with the toddler that always threw dirt at her or something. "Dan I red you book." Mia nodded, trotting off in victory to her room. Jade scrambled over to Mia's door and sighed. "You can't read, plus maybe if you asked nicely..." She nodded, Mia just took the book and shoved it in her face without asking. The toddler sat on her bed, eyes wide. "Dat my why o askin." She shook her head vigorously with a large grin. "Whatever..." Jade replied and snatched the book, placing herself besides Mia. "You'll learn eventually." The panda girl smirked as she flipped the crisp pages of the book. Jade could never resist reading.
Mia placed her head in Jade's lap, glancing up at the pictures. They appeared upside down, but that made everything better. Her thumb sat gently on the edge of her lip, contemplating whether to be sucked. "Ooo." Mia giggled, pointing to a picture of a frog and princess. "I be prin-ness!" The toddler poked the picture numerous times, than sent a frog across the picture.
Jade shivered, it always creped her out when Mia made images. How did she do it? "Ok, the end." She stopped short, jumping up from the bed. "We'll finish later, after we get some food..." Her eyes twinkled as she dashed down the stairs.
"No fair!" Mia toddled after her, hobbling along. "You betta fini lata!" She called after Jade, running down the stairs as fast as she could.

dear diary.
Everything is a blur to me now. My mother is home, but she wasn’t for part of my life. I don’t remember much, but I do remember her not being here for me. I realized Caroline wasn’t my mother even at a young age and still recognized that someone was missing. She’s back now and it’s more awkward as ever. She wants to do all these things, but they are what she likes. Not what I like. My mother didn’t even know reading was my favorite thing to do. She rather talk to Caroline about her adventures, she doesn’t even want to recall them to me at night. I feel left out. That letter she sent to me a while ago is useless, I still wear that bracelet…but that doesn’t make up for lost time. At least I still have Tabitha and Page.
Page has grown up now; she’s a full-fledged cat now, btw.
