@ Exeiel ---> xd I have a strong feeling that we're not going to agree on the overall outcome of this, dude. xD
But anyway. o_o;; on with responding.

True. ^.^ [I'm not sure I cried when that happened; I think I was just in shock if anything. ;_; I did cry my eyes out during the infamous episode 15, though... ._.]
Hmm... Okay, I see what you mean with the Touko thing. I still don't know, however... about him being a 'soft teddy underneath.' I think he may have progressed in that sense as the series progressed, but in the beginning I don't think he was originally like that. I mean, can you imagine how things were before Robin even got there - right after Kate... well, died? o_O
I'm thinking, even if -I- was in that situation, I'd be distant. Amon is already distant as is, so he must have been moreso after it happened. Robin changed him, s'the way I see it anyway... I don't think he started to 'wake up' until she came along.
*nod* Yes, he does feel remorse for Touko in the hospital, but again, that's more than halfway throughout the series. In the beginning I could never see him being that way. But yes, I do believe he felt sorry for what had happened then.

I know he isn't stone! XD What I'm trying to say that he may have started out as if he had some sort of protective shell around him to keep others out, and Robin started to tear away at that shell. [xD Or perhaps 'melt' it away... heh, I'm amused by that. ... moving on. >>] He most definetely shows that he has, or at least is capable of having, as much emotion as anyone else toward the middle of the series. [aside from giving Robin the glasses, anyway...]

I agree that Robin wants equality and security, but as much as you can get that from a father-figure, you can also get that from a friend and//or a lover. There are cases, many actually, where friends feel better with friends than they ever did with their parents. And you said it yourself - Robin never had any -real- parental guidance, so how would she even know what she's missing? I think if I were her, I'd just want -someone- to treat me the way I always wanted.
I don't see it as guardian at all... o_o;; maybe a 'watchdog,' as Robin called him in the last episode, but not guardian. XD A 'watchdog' can point to anything, not necessarily a father. It can be a friend, a lover, anything, really. A 'watchdog' is just someone who cares enough about you to stick by your side.
The way the both of them slowly but surely opened up to one another isn't just something you can do with a brother//father. The mood is different, the actions are different. The feelings you could have for a lover aren't the same feelings you could have for a father or brother. There are so many differences. Everything is different. Think about the time, in one of the more later episodes... I think it may have been "Family Portrait" or somewhere around there, when Robin was 'seeing' people. The little girl she babysat, the immortal 'time' witch -- Anyway, she was always holding the glasses Amon gave her like her life depended on it. In that episode, she looked at them as if she were sad; almost in a despair or some sort, and held them close to her. I'm sorry, but... that's something that someone would do if they felt lonely without their friend; even without their lover. It doesn't seem guardian-esque at all.
I know Amon protected Robin, saved her, risked his own life for hers - but you don't have to be a father or brother to do that. If anything, I see Harry or Nagira as more fatherly towards Robin than Amon.

Indeed, Robin did smile when she asked that, and yes, I think she did enjoy the idea. I think she just wanted to know more about Amon.
Protection, again, agreed. But anyone can protect someone else. A dog can protect someone for crying out loud. @_@
So how can it be determined - specifically - that everything was just a father and daughter sort of thing? This is what I don't get - you even mentioned that if it was supposed to be romantic there would've been more hints dropped, but think about it. WHR isn't the kind of series that drops that many hints in general. It's a series you have to figure out, like a puzzle or a code. Even the witch hunts themselves, the stories with each individual case, was like trying to solve another mystery. Anything goes. So why would the romantic interests of two characters be more noticeable when basically everything else in the series wasn't?

Again, yes, fathers can be protective of their daughters, but so can friends with other friends; lovers with their lovers. Even the president has someone to take a bullet for him, and there's no emotion involved - it's duty. It's true what you say about Amon having a sense of duty, but I still don't think he would've took it on as strongly and out of the ordinary as he did unless something -more- was leading him in that direction. Maybe he wasn't 'in love' with her, maybe she was 'in love' with him, but I don't think the emotions between them pointed to a father//daughter, brother//sister sort of thing.
Yes, but... Amon also said that there was never any friendship or understanding between himself and Kate. As the series went on, his exterior was starting to melt and he knew that he liked Robin. This is something anyone can see, just the way he started acting, the more caring role people could see him in. Kate and Amon never had that, so even though situation is sort of the same, it's also quite different. I guess I sort of agree with the 'no more' thing, maybe for Robin... but for Amon I think "Enough is enough" suits him better. [Either way, yes, agreed - it is inspiring. ;-;]

You never know, you never know... Yes, Amon is the strong type of guy who would chase down and fight for what he wanted, but maybe Robin really was -that- different to him that he just had to wait and see what happened. It can be seen as something more special. I've never seen Amon be gentle like that before - and maybe that was enough for him. Maybe that's when he fully 'broke free' of his old ways of avoiding people. Like I said, I think Robin changed him, and for that I think he started to have more intense feelings for her.
Amon and Robin aren't 'touchy feely' people to begin with, so even if either one of them were to reveal their true feelings for one another, I doubt it would have any 'omg kissing scenes' surrounding it.

 xD I'm not tired.

 As will I.

 Ditto. 8]

*nod* I hear it's pretty good, though not many people know of it. o.o;; I only heard of its goodness from one other person.
 Gungrave = awesome. ^^
I know! o-o;; and Crispin Freeman said that Touga was his favorite role!
XD Nice to meet you as well. 3nodding

And like I said, you're not the only one. xd

Hehe. So, you basically agreed with my statement and at the same time didn't, therefore leaving the decision based on the taste of the viewer. Though thats really what all anime has in common, like the whole Kagome Kikyou (yay Kikyou!) controversy. Ugh. xd

Haha, expected. 3nodding It's all on perspective.
I don't believe Witch Hunter Robin is a code though, it truly does give you the nessecary information to understand the plot, you just have to pay attention, not forget the simplicity of the story and create it to be bigger than what it is.

Holding something you recieve from the one dear to you doesn't quite mean the person is your intimate dear one; I mean, when a child misses her father or mother certainly they will hold whatever they posses from them close, almost like they can be with them, have that protection.
And like I said, she needed that protection, she was a charatcer growing beyond herself, and she needed security.

Haha, but I see that you really left it open, and I agree with you. It can go both ways, I'm simply saying that the more guardian or as you like to call it 'watchdog' justifies more than the intimate lover.

Cheers! I think you 'n me should go attack Crispin Freeman in all fangirl-dom. Yup. I think so. 3nodding

I suppose... meh, I'm more of a Kagome fan... @_@;; though I'm not really fond of either of them. xd

 *nod*
I don't know... the whole thing, really... I mean, even way before the series really got all into Robin's story, the episodes were just witch hunts. I feel that yes, you have to pay attention, but also, you have to figure some stuff out for yourself; hence, a puzzle. [Perhaps 'code' was a bit too high tech sounding... -.@']

Indeed, that's basically what I said, except turned around. xd

Yesh, either way all in all. Meh... 'watchdog' can be anything, though... XD [won't get into it again...]

Ah really? xd I guess I'll drink to that. 8D

Exeiel I am the ,ost rabid Amon lover in the UNIVERSE. I am married to him...XD Not to mention I have been obsessed for around 6 years now. Yep. It is true. Not to mention I'm married to him in the sims too. XD Actually you know, from watching WHR so much..And believe me...so much. Amon is really more the fatehr figure of Robin rather than her lover. And that is not because I love him. Haha. It really isn't, but as you watch it over and over, it really just becomes evident. From a first watch most people become rabid insane AMONXROBIN fans and maybe even as the series is watched again and again. But all I can see is the protection and love of a father/brother figure. The dearness of holding her face was really more of a "I really do care about you." rather than a "OMGZ I SO WANT TO KISS YOU RIGHT NOW." Watching the other characters reaction towards Amon's gentleness really portrays a sense of an over protective father rather than a lover. Thinking about it its more Amon's view "She's 15. Here. Hunting witches. Where there is death and.. " You know. Gruesomeness and the such. Because he was scared when he was younger and the STN-J takes hunters in their younger years robbing them of their youth and childness. It states that al through the series. Amon was merely trying to let this be easy for Robin as much as possible. But then...*spoiler* we find that Robin was on a mission etc. etc. I wont go into too much detail. Anyway yep. I can really see where the directors and animators are coming from. I agree with the Gungrave feel. I watched that a while back and thats who I though of aswell..just not such a big build. Haha--when he was living I mean. BUT YOU KNOW WHATS WERID!?? Anyone seen Last Exile..? Ok. In english, WHR= Amon (four letters) Crispin Freeman Last Exile= Alex (four letters) Crispin Freeman Both have long dark hair. Both solemn and don't talk because of their past. I swear they are SO alike. Its like..past and future. Or what not. ^____^ Oh and um..Witch_Hunter_Robin_? I kinda disagree with your friends theory of that being Amon's twin...his hair is too dead. XD Amon's hair is prettiful and layer-ee and curls teh bottom...*wheeze* xd Kidding kidding. But really. ... ... ... Hehe. I love other Amon fans but... *hugs Amon tightly* mine.So tell me, girl, are you really "married" to Amon? Do you have the documents to prove it?? Because the last time I checked, everybody else in this guild loves him as much, or even much more than you do. Honestly, I don't have anything against you , but it has been brought to my attention that you are really starting to annoy most of the others on this thread, so do us all a favor and stop. Don't think you can just waltz in here and say Amon is yours alone - this guild has been around for a good year now, and the whole time, it's been full of Amon obsessors such as yourself...you, in our eyes, are a newbie, and from what I've been hearing from others, you have really begun to get under our skin. Besides, in the end (though it is difficult to say this), he is just pixeled and non-existant. Oh, and apparently, you don't watch Bleach either, for Byakuya Kuchiki (the "twin" of Amon) acts almost exactly like him - I've seen every episode and own every manga, so don't say that they don't have similarties, because they do. By the way, I'm that "friend" that Robin was referring to - if you've seen other threads with me, you'd know to stay away...I'm known to be very opinionated and get annoyed with idiots very easily...meaning I tend to go off on them...so do us all a favor, and READ the threads in this guild before spitting out nonsence such as "Amon is a father figure to Robin" and such....we've already given MORE than enough evidence that he isn't...scream

I'd like to second the notion that Hana put out at being "obsessed at an unhealthy level" ...no offense we're all HUGE fans of Amon, and Crispin Freeman. But CHILL. We've all withstood each other's obsession with him for...a year. Yes, the guild's been open for a year now, and we've all managed to get, like I said, "along". But having someone barge in and wave a zillion few banners saying that they're married to everyone's favorite bishi character is a bit too much. We all love (don't know if it's the word, but I used it anyway) him dearly, but we show it remorsefully rathar than in an oblequely outspoken way. I'm just saying to tone it down a bit; here and in *coughs* other threads.Exeiel I am the ,ost rabid Amon lover in the UNIVERSE. Anywho, @ the whole "father figure" deal with Amon and Robin, I believe I replied to that elsewhere. Like I said, I wholely disagree.

As for the character similarities a friend of mine and I pointed out earlier, "dead hair?" I don't quite understand what you mean. We basically noticed a similarity in facial structure, attitude (the way the both present themselves verbally and physically), and we do think they look a bit similar.
Last Exile...I've heard of it, but haven't seen it, it's on my "to watch list" along with Gungrave, so I can't say anything about either.

O.o;; I think I've replied everything I wanted to. .. It's a bit shorter than what I wanted to say though. But whatever, I guess.

Please relax. 3nodding You know as well as I do its a simple way of being over excited about something. I was quite shocked to find a Witch Hunter Robin guild.
So please, I am quite aware what is healthy and unhealthy.

It is in a simple thread and in my signature and that is probably why you are as you say "getting annoyed". It has been in by signature for quite a while.
No offence what so ever, but please you seem easily offended by someone else's raving. Posionwave seems to be the only one humouring herself in my obviously over extending and highly sarcastic attitude. Why use remorse to show appreciation for a character? It is up to you, but I like showing joy and complete appreciation in a positive way. That is depending on the person though, so I can understand why you would want to show it in that way. Its up to you.
I am a simple fan gathering with you to enjoy the series created by a highly talented Shuko Murase.

Like I said, this discussion of the relationship between Robin and Amon is unknown completetly. All I am saying is that I believe the guardian stature justifies the lover matter more. I used to be a complete RobinXAmon fan so I understand completely where you are coming from, don't get me wrong. I am just saying that the more I have watched the series the more intellect I get from it and can understand why the relationship was not pursued further in the series. Even after starting many WHR RobinXAmon stories.

Sesh@ Your opinionated? I respect that fully, good for you. But please realize other people DO have opinions other than your own. I came in here to discuss MY opinion as well. Like I said I WAS a RobinXAmon lover. Truly to the max.
Your blowing this completely out of proportion, so please, don't tell me to chill, don't get so worked up. smile

As for being new, yes I am, thank you for pointing that out. Non exsistant sure, whatever you please.
He may act like him, if you would notice, I said he does not LOOK like him. Dead hair, not sticking out as much. But I understand, dark long hair, eyes, the attitude. Similarities, whatever floats your boat. If you belive he looks alike acts alike, then thats your opinion.
Your evidence is fine, but I have also countered it in a way that can be decided that the decision goes either way.

I am quite happy this guild is been running for a year, congrats to the owner for that! smile
 So be happy.

I don't exactly like being called an idiot, but thank you anyway.

Don't make me out to be the bad guy here...I know I'm rather "new" myself, but like Robin said, it's rather annoying when someone pops up and claims she's married to Amon. rolleyes Just think before you type - you have seen most of the threads on this guild, and you can see very clearly how obsessive everybody else is, so chill. You're not the only person in the world that cares about this series.

It is, I agree.. I just had a certain encounter today that made me feel a lot like you did a bit earlier, so I suppose I know where you're coming from, I'm just saying to not show it as openly as you are... little by little, I guess? >__@Exeiel Please relax. He may act like him, if you would notice, I said he does not LOOK like him. Dead hair, not sticking out as much. Sorry, I've only met you a few days ago, so I wasn't aware of the fact of the ages your Amon tribute's been in your signature, so I didn't have the warning I should've had...

Remorse over my love for a character DEFINITELY is NOT the issue here. The issue's how you're showing it. And I suppose, the degree in which your love for him resides in. That degree, I think we've all found out about, we can't do anything about, and have come (or coming) to accept, but like I said earlier, all at once, and all is ...too much to handle. An overload sort of thing.

ok. That, we definitely aren't going to agree on whatsoever, so I'm sort of going to drop it now, seeing as we've both believed in a sort of ideal for a while and aren't willing to accept a different one. I'm not saying I agree, but accept your opinion as what you believe. Moreover as in, I won't go on a rampage about your differing opinion anymore, because it'd really be pointless.

May, shmey, have you actually seen him while he's in the series? I think not, so please don't say it as you have.
Nyeh..ok. so we somewhat agree on him somewhat (I'm leaving it at that word) resembling Amon....WhoO! I think we're getting somewhere!

 yes, your replies have room to sway another's illstood opinion, but for others who's mindset is written in stone, I think it'll be a bit harder. >__<;
