A smile shivered on Vivi's lips as the snake Raevan dashed ingloriously from her hiding spot, her face full of a child's surprised outrage. The Frenchwoman dared not laugh at the spectacle, though, and resisted the urge to leap up and pinch the basilisk's cheeks. Honestly, could the Raevan get any cuter? Certainly there couldn't be a snake's power that had to do with adorableness, right?

"Cordelia!" Vivi said instead, her voice full of wonder and relief. "My goodness, I do not believe it. Have you been there the whole time?!"

She tried to maintain a haughty and angry attitude, but Delia was not yet as experienced with acting as her guardian was, her emotions always bubbling clear to the surface for all to see. Lips beginning their pouty descent, the Frei answered with a sway of her arms. "Yes..."

Quickly the half girl swiveled back to her woman. "Ebby? Y-you wouldn't really get another Raevan if I disappeared...would you?" Tears were developing fast in those smokey orbs as she waited on baited breathe. For someone who was thought to share a piece of Ebony's soul, it was really hard to see that being true with how totally opposite the two females acted. Then again, age and experience was always a factor.

The British woman frowned deep. She hated when Delia pulled out that trembling lip and teary eyes. Even if it wasn't an act, it sure felt like the Raevan was cheating since it always broke Ebony's heart to see it. Holding out her hands for the Frei's, "How could you ever think such a thing? I was only joking Dove. Right Vivi?"

"Cordelia," Vivi said, her smile soft and her tone firm. "She is quite right! I am afraid you are what is called 'irreplaceable.' If you become lost or disappeared, I am afraid your Ebby should never find a replacement. So take care when you go very far! There is only a single, solitary Cordelia out there, and that is you. No other Raevan would ever match up." She nodded sagely in punctuation.

And while soul-catching was the greatest current source of consternation in Vivi's life, meeting Cordelia and Ebony certainly had cemented that fact. This Raevan that Vivi was attempting to help create -- there would not be another like it. And if the feelings between ward and guardian were the same with Vivi as they were for Ebony and Cordelia, it seemed very much to Vivi that it would be well worth it.

Now, if only there was some way to assure that her own Raevan would be so entirely adorable. Were there any white snakes easily available?

Her lavender head bobbed in total agreement. So true, in more ways than one. The Raevans were all literally one of a kind. Though they may have similar essences or souls, not one to date had one that was a complete copy of another that she knew of, something she suspected was more of Kyou's doing than anything else some how. Or perhaps it was just that there was only the absolute one kind of essence in the world and it was luck that allowed the demonic doctor to find them and keep them from becoming utterly extinct. As for the souls, it must have been guardian preference and pride that mostly kept them from acquiring the same exact soul as another. Hmmm...there was so much intrigue and wonder in the Raevan world that Ebony had yet to scratch it seemed.

"Irreplaceable is the perfect word to describe it Vivi. There is no replacement for you and there never will be, nor would I ever want to try." The Brit had heard rumors of another Raevan that had died, yet they'd been able to preserve its soul and thus was reborn into another. Though it was great that the Raevan had survived in a way, it still wasn't the same, at least not in Ebony's mind. A soft smile touching her lips, "Did you find your deer Dove?"

The basilisk girl took a long time swaying back and forth while really taking in what the two human females had said. She was one of a kind, something that couldn't be easily replaced by another? Slowly a smile developed before it was back to being a full blown grin on her face. Slithering over and wrapping her strong arms about her guardian affectionately, "I'm glad. And no...I saw this, um...bunny and followed it back here. Then I saw you two and wanted to surprise you." Giving a girlish giggle, remembering her great hiding place in the bushes, she hugged her guardian tighter while looking at the Frenchwoman as well. "Were you surprised?"

Ebony gave an amused grin as she winced at the tightness of her Frei's embrace. The girl never fully realized her own strength sometimes. "Supremely."

A bunny. That was right -- she had been thinking about capturing a white bunny when this had all started. The responsibility of the soul bottle returned to the forefront of Vivi's mind then, although the feeling of burden had lightened for meeting Cordelia and Ebony. It had been rather serendipitous, running into them, and their acquaintance made the Frenchwoman's heart lighter.

This too shall pass, she thought, thinking of the bottle's waiting emptiness in her purse.

"Quite a surprise, it all has been!" Vivi said cheerily as she stood from her spot on the rock, brushing herself off airily. "It has been more than lovely meeting you both, but I am afraid that I must return to my, ah... duty." She patted her purse, shooting a knowing sort of glance at Ebony. Quickly, she drew out a business card for Vermillion and offered it to the Brit with a bright smile. "I am a baker here in Gambino -- please do stop by sometime, Ebony! I would love to meet up with you both again in the near future, should it be convenient for you."

She turned her head slightly to regard Cordelia fondly, and gave the Frei a little curtsy. "A great pleasure, Miss Cordelia! Do take care not to lose yourself in the woods further, yes?"

Cordelia, the child she was, only giggled more and beamed the pure, undiluted joy of someone her age could at the answers she received. It was always so odd to see someone so dark and dangerous looking to be so charmingly innocent, but refreshing at the same time.

She watched as her guardian graciously accepted the French woman's business card without hesitation, nodding in understanding to whatever duty it was that the other human was bound to right then. "I see, thank you. We shall have to come visit you sometime soon then. Right Cordelia?"

"Yes!" The Frei blurted out after trying, without success, to mimic Vivi's little move there with the curtsy. Instead she would do as she normally did with those she liked, bestowing the woman with physical contact, Delia floated in and gently patted a cheek. "Don't worry, Ebby always finds me. I'll see you real soon Vivi!"
