The blonde reached over, giving Z's nose a poke. That goofy Demyish grin was on his face, a sign that he was at the very least, feeling better. So long as Z stopped by he'd be alright, and now with his bag that Alex had dropped off and his Gameboy from Z he could manage to get through the long boring hours at the hospital.
"It was...rather busy earlier..."
He glanced around the now mostly empty room, rather amazed that just hours earlier it had seemed pretty full with visitors.
"I just...I dunno, didn't expect it?"

"Dork... you didn't expect it? Why not? Your the one always reminding the world your awesome. Don't you think people believe that?" he was only teasing a little.
Demy on his own was... outgoing, friendly... infectious. He knew that all too well. Yeah he acted like a little kid, but unless he went into... into what, brat mode? Well... it was really something to be around.

He shrugged it off. Yep, he sure was awesome! And hey, he wasn't -trying- to act like a little kid...he just did. Brat mode and all.
It was fun, really.
"How you holding up Z-man? I don't have to come home and liven up the place do I?"
Well actually he wanted to, but it was unlikely Z would let him ditch the hospital so soon.

"You may absolutely come home and brighten things up the second they release you... and not a moment before then because rooms just aren't brightened when your roomie is doubled over clutching his ribs." He said with a -stern- look.

For a brief moment the blonde perked up quite a bit. He could go home? Really? ...And then Z finish the sentence and he sighed and slumped back down.
"Fineeeeeee...."
Demy grumbled a moment before letting the grin slide back across his face.
"Bet you're gonna misssss me. You'll be so happy when my grinning face is back in the room, talking to you while ya pour over your notes. Huh huh? Riiiight Z? Right? Betcha really wanna beg me to come home, but you're trying to be a good positive role model or something so you're making me stay here instead. Yep! That's totally what's up."

"... yes Dem that's -exactly- it" He nodded trying to keep as much of the sarcasm out of his voice as he possibly could.
"So many people think your awesome we wouldn't want -them- bailing on the hospital if they were hurt would we. OR trying to break the food rules. Theirs a lot of responsibility that goes with such awesome."

Clearly he also completely missed any hint of sarcasm in Z's voice.
"I guess we can't have people bailing on treatment because the Awesome Guitar Hero King Demy did it huh? People need to rest if they're hurt, even awesome people like me. Alright Z, I'll stay here and stick to this cruddy diet, though hey those popsicles are really good, so long as they don't send me sugar-free ones on accident....er...what was I saying?"
The blonde paused, sitting there to think in silence for a moment.
Just a moment.
"OH RIGHT! So yeah, I'll do all that stuff so people can learn from my example. But I'm so holding you to the dinner and arcade binge deal when I get outta here..."

At least with him playing against Dem the Arcade binge should go faster...right?

Here he reached over to poke Z's nose again. He really enjoyed doing that.
Z could only hope the binge would go by quickly. Though if Demy wanted to, he could probably drag it out for -hours-.

"... Saturday, regardless of when you get out we had better plan the arcade run for SATURDAY... we both know that I do not faire as well with caffination as you do. I don't want another caffine overload headache. "

In reality it likely wasn't, but it was the first thing that had popped into Demy's mind anyway.
"....-I- can have caffeine though right? Cause dude if I don't then I'll have the headache and that won't be pleasant for either of us..."
The last time he had let his caffeine reserves get too low....well it had ended in a lot or whining from the blonde. A lot.

"Ohh yes, you may have caffeen IF they let you, I don't see why they wouldn't but if its on whatever diet they release you with...you TOTALY may, else we may see if we can substitute more sugar than any one person should by rights be able to digest."
Really there were times he wondered why Dem didn't have a medical condition.

The boy grinned, his own thoughts far from wondering why he hadn't developed some medical condition and more likely focused on just how much sugar he'd end up consuming once he got the hell out of this place.
...It was going to be a lot. Poor Z.

"I'll be sure to save for our adventure" he said a touch wryly. Normally he dipped only into his 'spending allowance' that his mother foisted on him but he began to suspect his savings account might need tapping at least in a small degree as punishment for abandoning Dem to the 'evils' of the hospital, especially since he was trying to do his best for Beth too, since she was after all...the only family he had who still mattered.
"Soda can come without caffeine though, you know that as well as I..." He added scoldingly. Though to his recollection caffeine free soda was a source of horror, or was it disinterest... hard to tell sometimes with Dem.

Horror. It was definitely horror. Tongue sticking out and body shaking horror.
"Why bother? It's just...it's not even worth it and it tastes horrible and just...ugh!"
He shook it off, instead looping an arm around the other boy's shoulders.
"So what else is up in the big bad world outside hrmmm? It can't be faring too well out there without me...."
