If we wanna be a gym leader, do our Pokemon need to be nesscicarily EV trained?

mondude If we wanna be a gym leader, do our Pokemon need to be nesscicarily EV trained?  Nope. The top 8 in our tournament will get Gym Leader spots, so all you really have to do is win.
By the way I don't play by official rules, so there are no banned moves or items. The only rule I want battles conducted by is the sleep clause, and that no two Pokemon may hold the same item.

Use your Gym team and 1 additional Pokemon of your choice, to help make it a little fairer in the case of bad type matchups.

by 'shortly' how long do we have untill the tournament starts? My main concern is time. I dont know if I can get a team ready that quick.

Probably a couple weeks by the time the tourney board is drawn up, just to make sure we've given everyone interested time to put a theme together.
