As much as she enjoyed scouting out things are could be helpful and deadly, it was slightly boring and left Jinx to much time on her hands. Not many demons signed up to be a scout; they all liked fighting too much. Nevertheless, she put Tratnona back in the 'designated area' and went toward where the horn blew. Though rarely did she get a job, she enjoyed the bickering and excitement that went along with being summoned.

Mordecai's troop had successfully made it into the trees. They were currently flying up the trunk of one where a tiny lookout was keeping post. Mordecai noticed that she notched an arrow to her bow, and knew that their presence was noted. She signaled with her hands again to her troop. Stop moving. Try not to breath. This one the young angel understood. They clung to the trunk where they could, using pure strength instead of their wings to keep them from falling. With any luck, the lookout would settle down and drop her guard. After a suitable amount of time, Mordecai signaled to her troop again. Small One, Small Two, get lookout. The two angels she had signaled to continued flying up the trunk and made their way to the branch where the lookout was sitting.

Acacia managed to work her way up to the front of a mob of demons so she could see the demon leaders' cloaks. They chose to not reveal their faces, to spread an air of mystery and obedience to the other demons she supposed. Acacia personally thought it was because their faces were uglier than her horns. She crossed her arms casually over her chest, cocked a hip, and waited for the people of authority to have a say.

They painted up your secrets With the lies they told to youAnd the least they ever gave you Was the most you ever knew Abby looked down just in time to see the two angels flying up at her. she sprung herself up, the agility of being a Wild One saving her by hairs. She pulled some of her fanciest flying as she swooped between branches and through tough obstacles.
Somehow, Abby managed to get to the light. She flew through the hole at the top, folding her wings flat against her body to fit, before she flared them out again to glide down.
An orb was beside he center, where the light would be held, that held the crystals in total darkness. She picked up the orb and opened the top on it. She dumped the glowing contents into the basin. Light erupted all around her, bouncing of the crystal mirrors. She had to fold her wings above her to protect her eyes, but even then it was bright, white wings with a few tiny brown speckles glowing.
And I wonder where these dreams go When the world gets in your way What's the point in all this screaming? No one's listening anyway

Everyone is changing There's no one left that's real To make up your own ending And let me know just how you feel
Silas was at the gathered demons, dressed in his armor. He shoved others aside as he made his way to the front, cloaked figures standing in front of them.
"The angel's are planning their attack. Last we heard," one of their wispy old voices echoed around the silent demons, "The angel's attack was planned for tonight. If it went as planned, it is underway right now. They are attacking the Wild One's capital."
Gasps erupted. The demons had no clue where the capital even was. They began to speak again, "We will be sending in everyone we can. Whoever wins that battle, will lose to our might." The leader's fist shook in the air for emphasis.
"Quite the battles underway," Silas said to Acacia who happened to be next to him.

"Oh, yeah," Acacia said amicably. "Listen, you keep listening to what these blokes have to say and clue me in the next time I see you, okay? I've got to get my sword. Will you do that? Don't let Jinx distract you." She patted him on the cheek. "Good boy. Right, see you on the way to the Wild Ones."

Despite its being low and husky, Mordecai's voice could be heard by all the angels. "Emergency proceedings." She launched herself into the sky, preparing her halberd. She could feel the strength from it as though it harbored a special power of its own - as she believed it did. She knew that in an instant, there would be retaliation, and their plans to get an informant before attack would go astray. 'Emergency proceedings' meant that the angel warriors would attack the other lookouts and raise the alarm for other nearby troops, which were supposed to be following behind them. Mordecai knew they couldn't wait, so she let her troop do the work as she herself flew for the tiny Wild One. The lookout was temporarily blinded by her own light signal, and didn't know Mordecai was coming for her until too late. "Do not make this more difficult than it has to be," whispered Mordecai as she wrapped the girl in one arm and put her halberd to her chest with the other.

They painted up your secrets With the lies they told to youAnd the least they ever gave you Was the most you ever knew "The others have already been signaled. My job is done. The warriors will be coming," Abby replied feeling the blade against her chest. "My city is prepared. I do not build weak cities," she added, continuing to shield herself against all the lights and mirrors.
The sounds of clashing metal rang around Abby's ears. "Your fighters shall fall," she said confidently as she ripped part of her clothing, tying it around her eyes for some more protection. The city had an astounding number of warriors inside. Two large groups had come to resupply themselves. If the attack had been a day later, it would have been swayed very differently.
And I wonder where these dreams go When the world gets in your way What's the point in all this screaming? No one's listening anyway

Silas nodded and waved Acacia away. The rest of the speech was turning into a rally. It was only for morale. "Where is Jinx anyways?" he wondered to himself.

Always late, that was Jinx's style. She arrived as the meeting was getting interesting and stood in the back, barely able to hear what was being said. As she struggled to listen, she noticed Acacia leaving the area. Where are you going? She wondered to herself. And where's Silas? Up front probably. He usually stood up there.
Moving with her scout stealthiness, she wiggled her way up to the front of the crowd and spotted him, in full armor. Daring as she was, she actually found him quite a sight, all warriored-up. It was an inappropriate thought but the thought had been thought. No taking back. She slid her way over behind him as she hear him talking to himself. He's wondering where I am? How interesting. "Looking for me?" She inquired over the rumble of the crowd.

Mordecai knew they weren't ready for an attack. There were two more warrior troops coming behind them, but they would arrive in a few hours. Mordecai enfolded the lookout Wild One in her arms and began to fly away from the city. "No matter," she told the little one. "We are not here to harm you. We are hear to listen, and to speak. My warriors will follow me, and if I'm not mistaken, your absence will not be noticed for some time. That will give us enough time for a little chat, my ignorant one." A safe distance away from the Wild One's city, she landed on the ground. One by one, her angels came to join her, acting as though in retreat. "You have valuable information to give us," Mordecai said softly.

I will also be missed. Someone would have needed to take me out of there. They will check each light for the lookouts who lit them. They will know I am gone. They will also know that I specifically am gone. I'm one of the city's founders, one of the very first of my kind. They will come to look for me," Abby explained. She took her blindfold off now that they were out of the light.

Silas turned to Jinx. "As a matter of fact, I was," he replied with a smile. "You coming along as a scout?" he asked. Of course Silas knew that Jinx was a scout. He would have been very happy to have her come along rather than simply be stuck with Acacia.

"Perhaps I will. I don't know the plan. Do you know; I missed part of the meeting." She asked, looking around at the demons she recognized. She even notice the one who shot the arrow passed her earlier. The woman glared and flipped Jinx off. She laughed and blew the woman a kiss, jokingly. It was probably the only one she'd ever get anyway. Do you know where Acacia rushed off to? She almost asked, but thought better of it. He didn't seem to like her at all.

Mordecai smiled. "Even better. When they send someone to get you, we can kill them. Now, if you still hold respect for the Holy, Just, and Mighty, you will please sit still and listen." Mordecai knew the Wild One didn't have an option. Two angels were holding her down as sure as a lead weight would. Mordecai set her face into a businesslike air - the expression she almost always had. "So you are one of the city's founders. This is excellent. We need your knowledge if we are to win this most Holy War. We mean no harm to your kin, my dear. We want what you want - an everlasting peace. But to do that, the demons must be exterminated. You understand, don't you? Their evil plagues the world below and above. All we want is to free the world of evil and set that which is Holy in its rightful place."
Mordecai believed every word she said.
"If you founded the city, do you have the knowledge of the city plans? We need them."
