Giving Thom one last, tight squeeze, she let go and smiled. "Of course, Thom." Gently, her hands went up to bring his hair into some order, plucking out some rock dust. "Now, I think we should take a break from all of this work and go down to the beach and enjoy the last bit of the evening. With the weather starting to change, it'll be nice and warm down there, and we can see about finding some berries and what not for dinner."

Thom looked down at his rather dusty pae-self and then back at her after listening to her words and chuckled "I think you just want me to wash my dusty self off" he teases and then moved to find a lid to put on his paste he was using to build the wall with so it wouldnt dry out.

"Maaaaybe...." Giving Thom a playful wink, Ama linked arms with him and gently pulled him along to the beach. As the dirt began to turn sand, she let go of him and ran ahead to the soft, sandy banks. "C'mon Thom! Hurry up, you slow poke!" She turned and beamed brightly to him, her little faun tail wagging excitedly. She was so incredibly happy to be with her friend again.

Thom laughed as he was pulled out of the cave and to the beach "I'm no slowpoke, yer just too fast" he shakes his heads for the water's edge... "What has got you so excited today Ama" he asks as he stretches in the warm air

Ama paused a little, then gave Thom a saddened smile. "I'm trying to find the brighter side about this whole ordeal... And you're honestly the best thing that's happened to me today. I mean..." Sighing she dropped onto the sand and pulled her legs up into her arms as a sadder, more solemn expression actually crossed her face. "I just left home; my dad's getting two more children in the house, and I don't know where I'm going to go. I'm lucky enough that you were here for me, but I can't overstay my welcome."

He sighed, "Sounds like a bad run of luck for the day" he walked to the edge of the water and knelt over scooping up water to splash on himself "You know though, just cause someone has new children in their life doesnt mean they have less room in their heart for their elder children... biological or not" he glances back at her as he washes up

"Room in his heart, yes... but not enough room in the home." She watched him and then felt the sting at her eyes. Reaching up, she realized she was crying and quickly dropped her head so that Thom wouldn't see. He had his own troubles, he didn't need to be burdened with her own sadness.

Thom stood up and turned to face her. "Ama, you cant always look at the past, You've been trying to tell me that too" he drops to sit in the sand beside her.

Looking up at Thom, Ama gave him a smile between her tears. "It's not the past that makes me feel this way. I'm scared; I have no place to live and I don't even know where I'll be within the next week. I was incredibly lucky to have had you to take me in... but honestly, do you really want to let me stay there?"

"Ama, you can stay, I'll just have to you know tell all my girlfrieds not to drop in unexpectantly" he was tryin to make her laugh and ATTEMPTING a straight face but failing miserably

Ama stared at him a bit, then slowly a smile spread over her lips. "Yea, but eventually you'll want me to leave too, won't you?" She was rather amused to find Thom attempting to make a joke.

"Don't know Ama, for now I'd say take it one day at a time, for all you know you could find someone on this big island you want to be mates with and move in with them" He lies back and looks up at the sky "It's too early to even look at what will happen tomorrow"

Ama snorted a bit. "I don't think 'mates' is a thing I"ll ever try for." She remembered rather bitterly back to the faun she'd apparently had a child with and the a** he was. He went and slept with her, and then had cast her aside to run off to his 'girlfriend'. "Boys want nothing but to get in your pants, have their way with you, and then dump your like rotting fish." She muttered.

Thom lifted a single brow and looked over at her without a single word. She did know she included him in that statement too... didnt she?... Well whatever, obviously something about guys had peeved her off.
